Jefferson Cheng: Stopped entire wedding because they couldn't keep up with the bar. Called the cops to remove the entire party. Definitely not what one would expect from a venue of this price.

Vivian Lee (Vivo): Beautiful hall but was kicked out due to unfortunate events. They called the cops on my families wedding. I'm sure there was more to the story but the party stopped a lot throughout the night. Catering crew was kind of slow, I had plates stack on my table and my dishes remained in at my table even after dinner was done hours ago.
Sla La: Huge hall. Nice, but with ridiculous security for the concert - did not make me feel safe that it was needed. There was no food available, so I didn't try it.

MARIA CHRYCZYK: Wonderful location. Had daughters baptism dinner here- had about 40 guests and the room was just the perfect size. Food was excellent- many choices to choose from. The chef was very accommodating as well as all of our guests arrived on time and we were able to bump the serve time up 15 min. Event coordinator, Kamil, was very helpful and professional. The server was amazing and polite. Restrooms were clean and stocked. Highly recommend!

I didn't have to worry about anything everything flowed perfectly. And THE FOOD, MY GOD!!!!! All my guests told us they've never been to a wedding where the food was so delicious, the drinks flowed flawlessly. We had 700 people at our wedding and everyone was pleasantly surprised about the quality of food- especially the soup. Best venue to have your wedding at. Many thanks to Mary Lou and staff!! Jarrow Marval: Attended their recent "Colorful Images" concert as part of a requirement for my music history class at my university. This was my first time watching this group perform and it was truly a privilege to be able to experience the performance in person. In addition to the concert program we were treated to a performance of the Ukrainian National anthem in light of the current war going on in the Ukraine. I will definitely be attending more of their concerts in the future! Thank you for a great night MSO.

Gay Radulski: Went there for a morning baby shower. Breakfast was served. Awesome set up. The omelet station was very very organized and large variety. Line moved fast. Meat was cooked well. A little disappointed in hash browns, very crispy but to hard and dry. Fruit with fluff was very fresh with pastries on the side. Mimosas spiked punch very good. All wait staff were very efficient and friendly.

Vibella: Really Really nice. The bathroom was very roomy snd clean. They had a small selection of liquor. New Amsterdam Vodka, also Deep Eddy grapefruit and lemon vodka. Rum, whiskey, scotch also available. The bar is a teeny bit (glass of Peach Moscato $17.00) overpriced, but I guess that's how the complementary buffet food is paid.Buffet has s very nice assortment of dishes. Chicken Marsala, pork loin, sauté vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes. Different salad choices. Fruit tray includes cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, with a strawberry cream dip...so yummy! There's also a vegetable tray. Includes cherry tomatoes, celery, carrots. Yellow, orange, and red pepper slices. Cucumbers and also ranch dipping sauce. Let's not forget the sweets table. They had chocolate chip & marconi almond cookies, still a little warm for extra softness. Also some key lime, chocolate, or vanilla tortes. Also yummy. I did notice there wasn't as much staff as in previous years before Covid. Still we're just so thrilled to go to shows again.

We are grateful to Lynda and the staff at Freedom Hill Banquet Center for making our evening everything the bride and groom wanted.

Roger Sno: We couldn't have chosen a more perfect location for our wedding! The venue is modern with a rustic feel that was the exact look that we were aiming for. Comparable wedding venues in the area seemed outdated and stuffy. The pricing was very reasonable for everything included. Lynda (the owner/manager) went above and beyond in answering our questions, allowing us to set up the Friday night prior with all the decor for our Saturday wedding, and her professionalism and expertise shined on our wedding day. Lynda made everything much less stressful and was a huge help with everything. I loved that the changing rooms were included in the pricing, providing us plenty of room for both the bride and myself (the groom) along with our wedding party to get ready! Being able to have the ceremony and reception in the same location was convenient for our guests and the gazebo and outside ceremony setup was beautiful. As far as photography goes there are so many amazing areas on the property to take photos that we had no idea even existed! The food from Chef Bobby's catering was terrific and we received tons of compliments! The staff was great as well. 10/10 this venue was amazing and I'm so grateful the memories that were created here on our big day. Go in, check it out, and say I do to this Banquet center. The amazing photos were taken by LEM Photography which we also highly recommend.

Having a one stop spot for ceremony, photos, and reception was very ideal with no stress the day of. Highly recommend this beautiful venue!

William safran: I gave them a 1 star. If I could give them a negative star rating I would. Freedom Hill may delete this post. I just want the truth to be heard. We attended a beautiful wedding at the beginning of October. The wedding was outdoors. However the reception, we were told was supposed to be outdoors but was moved indoors. There was no social distancing and face coverings including guests and the bar tenders. The hostess wasn’t wearing a mask when she told us to help ourselves to cupcakes.The bride and groom had posed for photos with their grandparents. All their grandparents could talk about was how beautiful was the bride. After the bride and groom returned from their honeymoon they both tested positive for COVID. In total there were 48 out of 90 that tested positive from that wedding. Sadly their grandparents my wife’s parents passed away from COVID. They spent the past month in the hospital fighting this terrible disease. Now they are at peace with our Lord in heaven. My wife and her family are in tears after losing their parents (grandparents, aunt and uncle). Posting this will not bring them back. I pray for the safety of others that this is not repeated at future weddings
S Fradl: Came here for a wedding that I stood up in. Beautiful setting for a average size wedding. Capacity is 250 but with 125 people, it seemed pretty tight spaced.

Pebsibhlub (justahmoob): This place should be condemned. No heat. No hot water. Floors feels like you're about to fall in. Roofs ceilings dropping chunks of cement's. Smells like mold. Etc...I can't expect much from a dump but at least be humane and shut this place down.

Is it even safe to open for the public?!!

angel Hart: Mixed emotions cause the show I s seen was great and it had nice vendors. However the actual building itself is falling apart and could barely handle the bass from the speakers. I know they working on the building.I sat at a table that had ✨something✨ on it when I arrived but it was dark and I couldn't tell, just assumed someone didn't get to wipe the table off so I did. Later noticed I was sitting right under a crack in the ceiling. Nothing new or concerning to me since most of the venues in Detroit are older and being remodeled. Throughout the night as the artist playing got louder, my friend mentioned they felt something dirty fall from the ceiling into her face, I just brushed it off. Then we returned to our table and it was almost covered in the ✨ something✨ I had wiped off. It was dust and dirt falling from the crack in the ceiling above us..I understand y'all are working on the venue to make sure it can still be used, however steps should be made to assure the people attending are safe and not disturbed by the work bring done. What if I had drinks on my tablet?? I would've drinken that dirt without even knowing, or what if the dirt from the other cracks feel into my friends eye instead of on her face???

Jinx Halloway: Great venue.Only problem was that it took too long to open the doors for us. When it's freezing cold out we should not be waiting a half our after doors open to get moving inside. Doors should be open as soon as concert goers arrive, no waiting would be perfect and 5 star review.
