Edmond Mui: Lowes doesn't like to give returns. Paid with PayPal and was told there was an issue with my PayPal account so they can't do the return, then called PayPal and was told there was no issue with my account or their system. Lowes clearly did not want to even try to resolve the issue until after I stood there waiting on the phone with PayPal for over 15 minutes. Then magically they said they can process it all of a sudden. Also noticed they returned less than what I paid on the original transaction. Not going back to deal with that BS. Very shady and deceiving practice. Waste of my time and horrible service. Better to shop at Home Depot.Update: Called customer service because after 3 weeks my funds still were not returned after the initial issue of the return in store. After speaking to the representative basically was told nothing could be done on their end since the transaction has been processed. Even though I gave back all the merchandise in store they did not want to return the funds and were completely rude about the situation and clearly did not want to help. Lowe's is just being a straight up crook at this point. Definitely never shopping here again.
TONE CENTRAL: The staff is very courteous
Shahid Bashir: I am a frequent shopper at this location and have a Lowes Credit Card account. The staff has always been very helpful and courteous, except for today when I had to return an item which I had purchased last week. I had the misfortune to be served by Kelara, who turned out to be the most inefficient, rude and downright stupid character. She refused to take back the item saying it was not from Lowes but some other store. I tried to explain to her a number of times but she kept interrupting and rudely repeated the same reason. When I insisted that she carefully check the item number, of course it turned out to be the correct one. She quickly credited the amount and walked away without looking back and did not have the courtesy or decency to apologize. After walking out of the store, I realized that I have to talk to the Manager and bring this staff's behaviour to the management's notice. The Manager was very courteous and assured me that she would talk to the staff. I understand that there is a shortage of staff, but Lowes should ensure that they hire someone with at least a high school diploma. This person has no business dealing with customers.

586 Performance: I want to thank Nadia and the store manager who worked on 5/17/2023 (Mike or Mark?) for helping get my item that I ordered online to ship to my house. The Home Depot help desk online and via phone could not resolve my issue of not receiving 1 of 2 packages. Long story short, I ordered 2 expensive items for the price of one because that’s what was available online as one order number. The only thing online support would do is provide me with a refund of the item that was delivered, which didn’t even add up to the amount I paid. Nadia and the store manager took care of me right of way and gave me the missing item and the Sterling Heights store ate the cost. I really hope online support sees this and improves their customer service. Thank you again to this store location! I have not had a bad in person experience so I will continue to be a life long customer.

The older gentleman whose name is Michael helped me.I explained everything to him, gave him my receipt, the item and original box. He asked me if I wanted a replacement or refund. I wanted a refund so my son could pick up the newest model. Michael was so helpful and sweet that I told the manager on duty that Michael should train the new hires. I just love Home Depot.

As he interviewed me he continued to talk down to me and basically tell me that I wasn’t fit for the job at all and proceeded to tell me that when he was 19 years old he liked to party and so with me being 21 it wouldn’t be a good fit for me he also seemed very offended because I told him I worked part time at apple bees which Home Depot is part time so it shouldn’t have been a problem he told me it would work because he doesn’t like being put 2nd after I told him I would make my work schedule fit around each other very very unprofessional I will never even visit that place again

Paul Stefanick: Purchased a 4x8 foot sheet of peel and stick Kawazinga veneer for a dining room table project. Being my first time using veneer of any size I was intimidated by the size and was worried I'd never get it down on my plywood without problems (bubbles etc). The veneer was beautiful and the project went off pretty much error free. I'm happy with the end result and would definitely buy from Oakwood again. My only wish is that they had a video showing the best way to apply a sheet of this size. Would have saved me a lot of worry.

Lynn Pomeroy: We were told the 31 4' x 8' and 10 4' x 10' sequenced veneers we needed were in stock and the panels would be shipped in two to three weeks. After not receiving any communication, tracking information or the shipment, we contacted Oakwood and learned that they did not have all the veneers we ordered and had paid for in advance. They began looking for additional veneers to fill our order. We had a number of frustrating communications with the company trying to establish a delivery date and to insure that we would receive the ten sequenced panels we ordered which were critical to our project. Instead, we received an email from the company with an attached invoice indicating that they had charged our credit card an additional $8,600 for material we had not ordered or received. They charged the card without any authorization or notification. Since we had prepaid the order in full any additional unauthorized charges would have been unwarranted. They admitted the error and eventually reversed the charges. We finally received our order over two months late. We did not receive the 10 sequenced panels as ordered. Instead, we received two sets of four sequenced panels and two un-sequenced panels that are of no use to us. The panels are very expensive and since they are a special order, they cannot be returned.

Jason ODay (Jay): I drove far because the website list under "Dimensional Lumber" included a 3x4 (actual 2.5 x 3.5). As soon as I walked in to ask, the staff said they don't carry 3 x 4. The website is not accurate, better call before you make the journey to John's Lumber.
Mary H: The best lumber place around! I usually have small projects but this place always helps me! I can always get the wood cut to my crazy specifications! Today I needed a piece of wood to recover for a kids 100 yr old rocking chair my godfather made. It was an angle cut & I was told they only do straight cuts, which I was fine with. But the wood cutter brought it out to me EXACTLY HOW IT WAS- on an angle! I was sooo happy I hope they see this and give that guy a pat on the back?(or a raise!) for going beyond the job!

Andrew Moore: I’ve been coming in a number of times. Every time it seems the service gets worse and worse. Today when I went in I was carrying a wood sample with me. Before I finished walking through the front door one of the reps tells me ‘oh we don’t have anything like that.’ Needless to say I left and found another lumber company to help me.
Mark Felzien: I was trying to finish up my Trex deck project yesterday when I realized I needed one more floor board. I knew John's Lumber sold Trex so I called the Shelby store. "Mark" took my call and quickly checked on stock at their store. He said I had to go to their main store at 15 and Gratiot and they only had 20' lengths (I only needed 5'). But, then, he said they might have had some in the "returns" at their store in Shelby that don't show in the inventory. He had to physically check and said he would call me back in 5 minutes. He DID! And they DID have a 12' board and he had already pulled it an put it in Will-Call for me! I thanked him and hung up. I turned to my girlfriend and said, "Am I on another planet? Who gives customer service like THAT these days?"I drove to the store to get it and I took my battery circular saw to cut it in 2 pieces to fit in the car better. The sales guy said that they would do that for me, no problem.I can't imagine going ANYWHERE else for materials now. What a great place. Friendly, helpful people.

Salesperson tried to say that's what we were told. NOT !! Called him out then the blame was passed on. NO YOU'RE THE SALES PERSON THAT TOLD US WRONG, TOOK OUR MONEY AND NEVER FOLLOWED UP TO LET US KNOW WE'D BE WAITING ANOTHER MONTH !! That pushed my contractors back now I'm pushed back with them to get the doors installed and siding done !! We planned on doing the deck, took samples etc from here but ummmmm NO !! I will go somewhere else for my deck !! Also sent an email to management about the experience/delay/lack of communication and again NOTHING !!

After explaining what I needed, the first young man escorted us to the lumber area to help us find scrap sizes for my project. The second young man cut the pieces to my request. Both were very helpful, polite, and courteous. What a pleasure!!! This is my go to place!
mama m: I’m a 72 year old veteran and I Bought 25 womanized 2x6x16’ boards , nine years ago for my decking in 2012, and boy are they heavy.Decking is 2 ft. Off the ground, and starting rotting out in 8 years.The deck was waterproofed stained, every year..You must have gotten a bad batch, was their only response Period....I guess no responsibility on their behalf.Went there this year to further complain, on the remaining rotting out boards,, I was told, they would come out and look at it,,,hmm,That was in May,, this is July2021 of course a no show,,Better off buying from Home Depot, ,you may get the same bad service but ,there’s will probably last longer.

I’ve left 5 messages for her and her department and not a single call back.I can’t speak for the rest of John’s Lumber operations or employees, but I can say their “cabinet expert’s” incompetence has lost them at least one customer.It’s not worth your time or the frustration.
Darrin Anderson: Ordered at 7am and was pleasantly surprised with same day delivery! Lumber was in great condition with only one board broken, all of the 2x4s were either straight or pretty damn close to straight, Brian was a polite, professional, and informative employee. Couldn't be happier
