Veronica Giganti: We would highly recommend using Lakeside U-Haul Storage and truck rental. We used them to assist with our move out of state and store the balance of our items. We have now rented another truck to get the balance of our items from the storage unit. They were very helpful during the whole process and very professional. We would like to say that Tara was exceptionally helpful with everything and was always there a with smile to make it smooth and easy. Tara always went above and beyond to assist us and is a very valuable employee that is dedicated to take care of the customers. Everyone that we dealt with there explained everything well and we were treated like family. Thank you to everyone there at Lakeside U-Haul in Michigan!!

This place stole my items without allowing me to make payment like I have for over 3 years.The guy actually said I must have been LUCKY that they didn't get my items a before today.

Megan Scully: Reserving the uhaul online was easy and fast. Checking out the truck would’ve been easy also, except the website kept buffering and wouldn’t accept my pictures. Luckily it was during business hours so I just went inside. Truck was clean and it got the job done! Turning the truck in was also a huge hassle. The site wouldn’t accept/ load my pictures of the gas & mileage. So I had to call the 800 # after sitting in the parking lot for 45 minutes. Pretty much they need to fix their website!

A S: Very poor service I got charge second time in my debit card after I drop the truckI called him back to ask him why and the ladies upfront they were very rude and not wanted to explain what I was charged for it because she said 50 miles when I talk to her and she put down 30 miles only and they charge me for extra miles all I wanted to know what was the reason and very bad attitude no respect she hung up on me said you need anything else that’s it hung up the phoneI called back didn’t want to answer for 3/4 time I call him back She was canceling the calls!Finally the supervisor answer the phone which it was not the supervisor was just other lady working next to her and she pretend like oh what happened she doesn’t know and then she didn’t even say sorry or nothing she just wanted to give me example of what happened and how it how did all that stuff work! Tim B: Called for an open trailer rental. Just wanted price and availability. She first needs my phone and email. Fine. Then I tell her I need a 6 ft wide. She asked me towing capacity of my vehicle. I replied that I didn’t know on my Ford Edge with factory hitch but if it wasn’t enough I would borrow relatives f150. Won’t give price without hitch capacity and tongue weight. I go through the trouble of pulling out the owners book. She says the edge won’t work. Surprising as I tow a snowmobile trailer with it. Again - fine. I will borrow the f150. She asks for capacity on the f150 now. I tell her I do not know but this is not a large trailer and the f150 would work easily. She still won’t give me a price. I understand for liability having a proper vehicle but I just need a price and availability. All this trouble and not even sure if they have the trailer. Horrible waste of time!!!!!!

Darien Rich: PLEASE Listen to the reviews on this place, it’s god awful, I got a truck and full trailer for my brand new 2020 Chevy blazer, not only was the truck beat to absolute hell, the emergency break line on the trailer snapped, the running light, blinkers, AND brake lights didn’t work on the truck or trailer(the lines and fuses were bad). Guy said he couldn’t help, the wheels and lugs on the trailer were so bad and rusted the wheel popped off 500 miles away with all 5 lugs stuck in the hole, he never called the truck in for maintenance said the budget maintenance facility, he will be losing his job since corporate has been notified, but until then please for the safety of yourself do not trust this slime bag, he doesn’t care about what he does and it puts lives at danger!!!!! It took me 6 maintenance guys, 4 different states, 12 phone calls, and 15 hours of my life to finally get a decent trailer and the lights working on the vehicle and trailer, this company should be disappointed in the service that is provided

Lily lelian: I wish there was less than one star to rate this. This guy, is think his name is Steven, gave me totally a different car than what I had rented from online. But the biggest problem was the car had checked engine with some issue that you can notice while driving. When I called that guy again, I told him that the car has checked engine and driving issues. He answered it's ok it's only checked engine. Really? are you supposed even to give any customer a car with checked engine when they have paid tons of money? Not only this but I think safety comes first.You should learn how to manage this job because I don't think you fit for it and you don't consider peoples' safety.

Suzanne Fournier: Seems more like a company issue rather than a store issue, but still I feel it necessary to post this information so other people don't fall into the same situation as my husband and I did last weekend. We reserved a truck a MONTH in advanced. We had ONE DAY to move our entire home since we both work full time, and had very limited time where friends and family could help move our stuff. They called us the day before and the day of to inform us that they did not have a truck and wouldn't know if they would have another one at a different location until an hour AFTER we wanted to pick up the truck in the first place. I appreciate the fact that they tried to send me to a location in Detroit to pick up a truck, and tried to accommodate the situation by offering other pick up locations BUT there's a reason I picked this location to pick up and drop off. To get notified with such late notice is just unacceptable. Budget should take a look at how U-Haul organizes their truck rentals - their call center knows exactly what locations will have what trucks for exactly how long. When renting a moving truck it shouldn't be this complicated.

I was dropping off the truck with out the trailer because road side assistance had to pic the broken trailer up and the next day I get a phone callAsking me where the trailer is. First off communication would have stopped the stress of that phone call. Almost like we would steal the pos trailer that I had to duck tap to hold my car on. Yeah ok. I'll post pics. I will never use budget again I promise I'll pay two men in a truck next time. It would be worth every penny.

Josh Smith: SCAMMED - They scammed me out of $220 extra dollars once they found out I was leaving state and wouldn't be back. The owner told me to make a deposit of $150 using a card and it would be waived, they just needed a card on file. I agreed, his machine suddebly breaks and e has to "call my card in" over the phone. It then proceeded to charge me anyways, so I brought it to his attention the following day, he then proceeded to tell me my bank was at fault and it was all cleared on there end. This was not the case, but I had to leave in a hurry and didn't argue, despite my rage. I then confirmed that my 766 mile trip, had unlimited miles so I could stretch out my trip a little, he assured me that I had 10,000 miles (the website says unlimited!), so I left. I get tomy destination and contact the local Budget office where I'd be dropping off my vehicle, they told me straight up that I was scammed and there was nothing I could do, they then proceeded to tell me I owed another $73 because I went over my 766 miles (thankfully not by much). All in all, I will pay slighlty more for a Uhaul next time and atleast I wont feel cheated. The truck had a broken radio also, made for a great trip. Thanks Budget! I'll be sure to mention you in the police report.

Asked her to call other locations said they didn’t open till 9. Employee said she couldn’t check on computer. Called headquarters only truck is 42 miles away. That’s 82 miles drive to get a truck. Stay away from this company. Huge let down.

Kristen Anderson: I would give this budget truck rental zero stars. I made a reservation for 24 hours for a truck while my family could take time off work to help me move. When we got there to pick up the truck (at the scheduled time), they had closed early with no notification. The employees literally just left early. So the truck was there, but we had no way to get keys. When we tried to call customer service, they told us they couldn't do anything and there was no other trucks in the area. We quickly got online and found another budget truck several miles down the road, but they only had a large truck available until 9 AM the next morning. So we paid more money for half the amount of time, plus the inconvenience of not having the truck when we reserved it. Furthermore, when we called today to talk to a supervisor, we were repeatedly put on hold, and the phone would just ring and ring. No supervisor ever answered. This happened four times, each time they assured us that we would be forwarded to a supervisor. The best they could do was offer us 20% off of our purchase price. No one would put us through to a supervisor and no one had a better solution. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We will be writing a letter to corporate to complain. I would recommend any other rental company over Budget. You cannot count on them to fulfill the reservation or to handle the situation well.

Douglas Curd: If I could give zero stars, I would. I reserved a truck two weeks before my move day via the budget website. I received a call at 4pm friday (the day before my move) from the pickup location stating "we don't have your truck and I can't get one for you" The lady then told me to call the 800 number and ask them to locate a truck. I called the 800 number and was told that a logistics person would try to locate a truck for me and would call me back in 2 hours.First - the caller from the local office was rude and unhelpful. Essentially told me "you're out of luck and I can't (won't?) help you."Second - the customer service rep on the 800 number was barely helpful - all I got was a promise that someone else would call me back. I had a move scheduled the next day - I can't bank on a vague promise that someone will call me back.In this day and age, I'm simply amazed that A) they couldn't guarantee that a truck would be available in the future and B) they couldn't use their system to find one for me when 'my truck' mysteriously vanished. I get that sometimes stuff happens. My complaint is how they handled the problem - horrible customer service.Rather than wait for budget to figure something out, I made one call to Penske Rental down the street - they were super helpful and had many trucks available. No stress, no frustration. Thanks to PENSKE, my move was a great success.Moral of the story - don't be sucked in by a cheap rate and/or a discount coupon. Budget offered the lower rate but couldn't deliver. Go see Penske instead!!

Alicia Brewer: Don't count on Budget for moving day! Made a reservation over a week ago for a truck and confirmed it. After 20+ minutes, the woman says they have no truck. Nobody apologized, explained anything, or called customer service for us. In fact, it was pretty obvious these two women couldn't have cared less and they basically ignored us. Congratulations on your great customer service, Budget! However, Joe, in Budget's Truck Inventory department, found a truck for us within an hour. It was over 30 miles away but he did give us a hefty discount. So, thanks, Joe.
