I had to stop going to this location because their resources are not easily accessible.They canceled my appointment right before I arrived and they wanted me to wait a month for another appointment.

Yes, you may have to wait 15 min past your appointment time and you may see someone get called back before you that arrived after you, but that happens at every medical office I’ve ever been in and it’s literally no big deal. Service and bedside manner was exceptional and made my iud removal a breeze. Low to no cost women’s health clinics like this are a NECESSITY in every community.

Sydney Mott: I went to Planned Parenthood to get my copper IUD. I had to wait an hour in the waiting room. The clinician who inserted my IUD, Sophie, was so nice and helpful. She talked me through the whole process and made it an easy experience.

Definetly not okay, you are better off driving to a farther PP because this one is not worth it and your time will be wasted.

I have also been to other clinics as well but here I come the most to it’s my favorite place to receive my health services. Staff has always treated me with respect and professionalism. Special shout-out to Sophie the clinician she is simply amazing! She was polite, warm and welcoming. Not to mention whilst being professional she made me very comfortable and feel like a person not just a patient. Answered any questions I had and didn’t rush me. I had an IUD put in today & it went so much better than I anticipated. The clinician was so kind & gentle. The staff is always so nice! I think wait times can sometimes extend because they actually take the time to talk with each patient and answer questions rather than shooing you out the door.

Corrie Pry: While the wait was a bit long- it’s like that at any dr office. Aside from that, every staff member treated me with respect, and they were extremely thorough. They set my mind at ease and answered my questions without blowing me off like every other GYN I’ve been to. The sliding scale is so helpful. I am not insured so a 27 dollar appointment is much more manageable than stressing over a 300 dollar bill. Thank you!

Summer McDonald: Pretty traumatic experience. Although all the ladies were incredibly sweet and even worked with me when I had an issue I was told I would be sedated and when it was time to have the procedure I was not sedated. I felt everything and the doctor was also explaining to a new nurse every single thing he was doing when he was doing it which I didn't want to hear. I was screaming and he told me there was nothing he could do about the pain. Why was i not sedated??? If they sedated me I wouldve recommended this place. My experience was pleasant until then. That made it completely horrific.

She said she couldn’t find the baby but only held it in one spot ! She didn’t check both sides for the baby at all. I’m upset I wasted my money twice coming here. I went to another Clinic same day and they confirmed it. THEY DID IT RIGHT.

Chelsea Bevington: I just got the abortion procedure done here today and I felt the need to write a review because I seen many recent negative comments. I never came across one rude nurse here the doctor is extremely professional and tries to get the procedure done with so you can go home as fast and as safe as he can. I was extremely nervous because I had to get the 2 day surgical procedure and everyone constantly checked on me while I was there for both days to make sure I was ok before during and after the procedure. They explained my meds and instructions multiple times and I even had to call with a couple of questions that I couldn’t think of while I was there and the nurse was very kind and patient. I would highly recommend this place to any friends or family that need help.

S G: The front desk staff who go through your paperwork are nothing like the people aiding you with your actual procedure. They are not medically or professionally in my opinion trained. I say this with having only experienced one individual so other individuals there may have more compassion and understanding. My experience in the beginning was rough and the girl with pink hair was just rude and lacked compassion at a job where safety and empathy should be top priority for women making a very difficult decision. I cried hysterically after my meeting with her.TFMR is not something anyone wishes to have to go through and at the beginning of my experience at Northland it was extremely emotional and raw. My husband and I waited from 8am to 1pm to finally get prepped for my procedure. Which was explained and expected. Once brought to where they did the procedure I was greeted with what felt like completely different staff. I felt safe and felt like my worries were addressed and heard. The medical professionals that aided in this aspect of care were pristine. I actually felt like someone finally read my chart and somone finally said “I’m sorry we have to meet under these circumstances and that the baby is so sick”. This made such an impact.In the end I wish I could rate what almost seems like two different experiences. Maybe in someway this will help scared women, like I was myself. Where I definitely read reviews in my decision making.

Jazlyn Acre: When I walked in I was greeted by a kind receptionist. I was taken back pretty quick to sign paperwork and go over a few things with a very kind young lady. I even text my boyfriend when taken to the second waiting room how comfortable everyone had made me feel so far. This was an extremely hard decision for us. We have a big happy family so this decision was not easy but it was best for us. I then, after a short wait was taken back for what I think would have been an ultrasound. I was stopped by the young woman as she said “you sound congested,” I stated it may be my allergies as they were acting up a bit. I was also crying in the bathroom as I was a little emotional creating a little stuffyness. I was also in the bathroom with morning sickness in the office. I felt pretty good aside from what I was there for. Mind you though, we all have masks on for protection just in case. I was abruptly told to follow her(no idea what was going on), she took me to the front, handed me some papers and stated I will not be able to be seen and to call them back in 72 hours when I feel better. She then said we need you to leave the building. This girl then walked away. I was SHOCKED as I felt fine and was not sick. I didn’t get her name but she had long sandy blonde hair, white skin and tattoos down her arms. I took the day off work, I’ve been so physically sick from the pregnancy and the decision to come was hard enough, let alone have to do this all over again. I could have understood more if she KINDLY explained to me that maybe employees were immune compromised or that there are employees who can’t risk getting sick or SOMETHING! She was sooooo rude and to tell me I need to leave the building was absurd. I was dropped off as they stayed no guests and it was a snow storm. NO WAY, I am going to wait INSIDE for my ride. I then before leaving asked about hours of operation and she was by the window (I dreaded speaking to her again) as she stayed “we need you to leave the building.” She made me feel HORRIBLE, how can you work in this profession and treat people like that? I was a receptionist manager for a large health care company for many years and if the reps ever treated patients that way they would definitely be reprimanded. I now work for a large healthcare system in customer service as a QUALITY analyst and I just would never allow any rep to speak to a patient with such lack of compassion. I understand protocol and policies but I don’t understand straight rudeness and insensitivity. It’s sad because based off the two girls I was first encountered with I would have definitely recommended this office but that woman really ruined it for me. I see in another review this office stated in a reply that they will not tolerate disrespect to their staff, well this should work both ways.

SM: Such a comforting and empowering place. Being that it was my first time, I was very nervous. The wait was long, but less time than they planned for. The procedure itself was super quick. The doctor was a female and was a bit disconnected (it could’ve also been my emotions) , however I’m sure that happens doing these procedures all day. I was not sedated and was very happy with that decision despite the pain. So thankful for women’s right to choose in Michigan. We are very lucky women. I’m still happy with my decision a month later!

I J: I just had to share my experience for anyone else who maybe in a similar situation. I came here and had to make a very difficult decision but for my health. I was extremely nervous and scared but kept it together. They do inform you otp that the process is long and it is just due to them helping other clients along with them ensuring they have all the necessary information before the procedure. Every member of this staff was sweet, caring, reassuring, informative and walked me through the entire process. My nerves began to calm as the day progressed. All of my questions were answered. I was taken care of and felt safe from the time I walked through the doors until the time I left. They rooms were calming and I didn’t get too much of a hospital vibe. It was more like a safe haven. I appreciate all of the ladies there and the security guard that ensured my safety and walked me through this process. I didn’t know what I would be walking into but I for sure didn’t think the experience would be like this. If you are looking for a location or just a team of people to speak to I would recommend this facility. Even when I got the procedure the ladies in the room held my hand made sure I took deep breaths and ensured me it was over. The Dr was nice and answered all of my questions and unfortunately I don’t remember if I thanked the staff in the room that did the procedure because I was a lil drowsy but if you’re reading this thank you. When I went home I read all of the information and my mind was truly at ease.I appreciate you all for protecting women and women’s rights ♥️♥️

She went to do the injection for medication and sighed, she asked the nurse for another 'butterfly ". I asked was everything OK and she replied 'yeah, veins just hate me today'.After 5 other times of not getting my vein and blowing 3 veins she was clearly frustrated I asked if anyone eles in the office could find a vein and I was told 'no, I am the only one'Well, that's kinda of alarming considering any life saving medication would need to go through a vien'!?!?Anyway, this Doctor Lane did not do the procedure, keep 200 dollars for an ultrasound and tried to tell me I had to go to a hospital for high risk. No lady, respectfully speaking, I went to the woman's center the next day at 9am, was done in 2 hours and that amazing doctor had not one problem getting my vein on the 1st try.I would be considered for anyone going somewhere to have such a serious and sensitive procedure done and the doctor doesn't know how to draw blood. 🤔In all I'm appreciative of what happened, a doctor that incompetent could seriously hurt you and I feel like I dodged the bullet.The Woman's Center on 8 mile was more pricey, but it is true, you get what you pay for🤷‍♀️

The worse experience I could've imagined. Furthermore the owner doesn't respect the patrons opions left in reviews. I've read his replies to reviews and it's pathetic and distasteful to say the least. And If you do dare leave a review before actually receiving your procedure they will cancel your appointment and have security walk you out. YES, for your review they will refuse to service you. That says a lot about how the owner allows business to be handled here. If you want a stressful, uncomfortable, and frustrating experience this is the perfect place to go. If you want to be treated like only a dollar sign this is the perfect place to go.

Giving two stars is to not downplay the effort of the nice surgical doctor and some good nurses.Front desk was lack of patience, instead of seeing smile on their faces, it's full of sick and tired of the job and dealing the customers.The Ultrasound nurse was not willing to listen explanation. She had her own playbook to read robotically and didn't care your concerns and threatened she will cancel my appointment if I dare to leave the waiting room for any minutes for anything. Lady if you don't like your job or dealing with people then why not just quit and start to do something else without hurting people coldbloodedly ? It's already a hard choice and heart-hurting to do it, then you just hurt people again. Don't look down on people making such choices, Everyone has its own situation and if you are not in that situation you will not really feel or totally understand why we made such a tough decision.Overall not a good experience.

Outside of the staff who were nice and informative the dr doing the procedure is inconsiderate of feelings and rude . Being this was my first time ever needing an abortion it was very emotional along with pain I was not expecting or prepared for which seemed to make the dr very irritated and short tempered with me DURING the traumatic process . I hope I never have to be put in this situation again because I’m most definitely scarred from her lack of compassion

Roshauwnda Chance: I regret choosing this location.I left this review at 12:45 while waiting on my procedure to begin. I have been here at this location since 9:40am. It’s currently now 1pm and Jenny the office manager just called security to ask me to leave the premises and informed me that she would not be allowing me to proceed with my procedure because I left a one star review online. This is unacceptable. For them to refuse services because someone left a review. I then asked her, can clients not leave honest reviews about their experiences. She was extremely aggravated by the one star review I left. Which is unacceptable and unprofessional. Furthermore, Michigan state law requires women to be offered a copy of the ultrasound if they choose. I was asked by a young lady named Ken if I would like this option to receive a copy of the ultrasound photo or if I’d like to opt out of this option. I chose to request the copy. I selected this option on the form Ken gave me and proceeded with my paperwork. However, I was never given a copy of the release form to fill out to be given the copy of the ultrasound photo. So after I received my vaginal ultrasound, I had not received the photo. I didn’t mention it. But I was expecting it. They then tell me that there’s another form to be filled out in order to receive the copy. And then they say I’ll have to wait 30 days. Why when I’m looking at ultrasound photos that were printed out for the doctor. So I ask to the lady please let me speak with a manager in the office. She blows me off and sends me back to the waiting area to waiting for the manager Jenny to come speak to me about what’s the hold up with my copy of the ultrasound. And why I have to wait 30 days when it was supposed to be printed after the ultrasound. And Why they ignored the option I selected requesting a copy to begin. I made sure to put it in my paperwork as a request, yet they moved through the process ignoring my right to receive a copy of that photo. After me being sent back to wait on Jenny, this is when I left my original one star review. Not saying much. Just simply leaving that I had regrets about choosing this location. This clearly agitated Jenny because she put me out the office and told me it was because I had just left a review online. Also that I was being difficult by asking why I had to wait 30 days for a copy of my ultrasound that should’ve been printed when my ultrasound was done. This is unacceptable. This is unprofessional. And this is the way NFP treats women that come in. Services should never be refused because an office employee because of a review that they don’t approve of. It’s my opinion. It’s my experience. I should be able to share it. This is already a sensitive time for families. My spouse and I have been here for 4 hours. Time that we can’t get back. Just to leave the same way I came. Time wasted because Jenny woke up on the wrong side of the bed or came to work upset and in a bad mood. She is the first person I encountered at the lobby window. Which would explain why other reviewers say that the first people you speak with are rude and have nasty attitudes. I’m so hormonal obviously. Being treated in this way really hurt emotionally. Going through the paperwork. Going through all the steps. After making a decision. To be forced to leave. Because of giving my opinion online. And then her telling me in front of the security guard Maurice that it’s because of my review. So she had no remorse for her rude unprofessionalism. Just a heads up to future women. If you must go here. You should not give your opinion on the staff or establishment until after you have left the business completely. Or you will be put out by Jenny. Also if you want to follow the Michigan State Law and receive a photo copy of your ultrasound if you so choose or desire the copy, they will move along with the steps without making sure you receive it. I do not recommend. To emphasize my original review. I definitely regret choosing this location.

I can say that everything that previous comments said is very true sometimes they all just sit talk, and be on their phone when there are plenty of patients out there and sometimes they are old yt women protesting outside. All in all if you need a quick AB then go there but I would rather everyone go to a more expensive place that feels like they care about my well being after and during Especially since my check in visit they told me they wasn’t worried about anything. Next day made me go to the ER and said I might have an epitomic pregnancy bc my hormone levels are very high. Er told me that’s not the case.

I had to wait at least an hour and thirty minutes for the doctor to arrive and when he did he completed the procedure with sunglasses on while he chatted up the nurse the entire time. To top it all off the receptionist is rude as hell and enjoys cutting people off while they're speaking.

Kylee Osgood: I was absolutely nervous from the moment I walked into this place. Basically holding back tears. The staff relieved me for the most part. However when they drew my blood and sedated me. They blew the vein in my arm. It hurt so bad that if you grazed it lightly I was in tears. Ended up in the hospital because there was a concerning bump by where they stuck the needle in my arm. The whole experience was scarring alone.

I went to a different clinic less than 5 mins later and they told me I was 11 weeks which sounded about right. They were trying to get me out of 700 and that wasn’t about to happen!!!

Pam: Unfortunately I became pregnant and needed to get an abortion. I checked all the reviews and called a ton of places. The lady on the phone was so kind and really seemed to care. Once there I was very impressed with the entire staff! I was treated with respect. I wasn't felt rushed. The Dr. was very professional and took the time to really listen to my concerns. The RN's made sure I was comfortable after and went over all my "things to do at home" list with my husband. I choose the extra medication which cost a bit more but sooo worth it. The clinic was spotless. I was also informed this is the only Board Certified Dr. that does these in Michigan. If you are considering an abortion I recommend this clinic.

There is only one woman working in the office, she can barely draw blood or do a proper ultrasound.. they only communicate with a doctor via FaceTime. This is dangerous business ..I should of walked out when I found out a physical doctor would not be present. They make sure they take your money first before they show how incompetent they are. Sue Gable: The clinic has A+ Dr who is kind. But clinic should not allow children in lobby. Plus this clinic does NOT offer counseling for termination procedure. Birth control available. But know going in that this clinic is overwhelmed in it's patient load. They do not have a lot of time for individual attention.. medical procedure only so if you are terminating.. please have solid support system. Someone able to advocate for you as your emotional health is not the priority

Gavin McFadden: The procedure saved my girlfriends life due to mental health issues- she feels she cant be a mom yet- this isnt an easy decision but we connected our heads and our hearts to decide what’s best. Thank you for taking care of women so desperately in need. This facility was the cleanest and kindest that we could find in the Detroit area. We are so grateful to have this safe option.

Clearly they have little to no training with mental health crisis, which one would think staff members in such a sensitive medical area would be thoroughly trained on. Chris Black: This place told me to come at 8am, they said expect to be here 6-8 hours. It’s a room full of women who are waiting at least 30 women waiting. I got here at 8am it’s 2 pm. I just sitting here waiting. Nothing is done. They got to do better. All these women have been sitting waiting. We are hungry, tired. There no way we should have to wait 6 hours just to be called for a 5-10 min procedure. This is dumb. Figure out a different way. I’ll don’t recommend this place

Jocelyn the receptionist chooses to say snarky things to make you feel badly when you’re already suffering. Shantwanice Vincent: Every single staff person I encountered was really nice. At no time did I feel judged or rushed. I was confused on my appointment time and showed up an hour late, they still saw me and didn’t make me feel bad about my late arrival. They just informed me that since I was late, I would have a longer wait time. My total time from check in to discharge was just about 4hrs. The initial waiting room is very neat and clean. I liked when I signed my name on the check in sheet that nobody except the staff could see my information. I was able to receive some financial assistance to offset my amount owed. They gave me a mask and i sanitized each time i was called back. The doctor was patient and kind and compassionate. She explained everything and answered my questions. When I expressed that i was scared/nervous she was very reassuring! My decision was a tough one to make, but the process was painless for me. If I ever had to experience this again or recommend a safe place to go, this would definitely be my go to

Keep it real: I have to say making the decision to have an abortion was really difficult, but the staff here was absolutely amazing. every single person I spoke to today was very helpful and encouraging in my decision. Trinhsetter: I was pregnant 22 weeks and my baby has a lot of abnormalities and not given even 1% chance of survival. I finally come to a heart wrenching decision( termination). The staffs were extremely excellent. They completely professional and helpful. I always get taken care of with any pain or discomfort right away. The d&E was not traumatized like i thought at all. I was out like a light bulb. When i woke up, everything was over. I am in a healing process and extremely thankful for all staffs in the Southfield clinic. My daughter anf I are at peace.

Bryana Marks: A couple weeks ago I had a D&C done. After my procedure I started having some complications and the staff was right on to fixing it. I was scared out of my mind and everyone was so caring and stayed by my side. I unfortunately had to go to the hospital for extra care and the staff still stayed by my side until the ambulance got their to transport me. After coming home from the hospital the staff still made sure to check on me. I appreciate everyone at this facility who made sure I remained calm and kept the positive thoughts going.

Alicia Campbell: I'm going to preface this by saying that I love planned parenthood as a organization and what they stand for. However, this location is not it. I've waited 4+ hours as a patient before. I had an issue with a prescription once and it was impossible it get ahold of anyone. I had to wait and drive back the next say to go into the clinic and inform them that none of my prescriptions I needed the day previously were filled by their provider. This was not a medication that i could have put off taking for a full day, so it was very stressful. I've known serveral other people who have had horror stories about this location as well. As a health care worker, i do have compassion for fellow health care workers and understand that their are critical shortages with staffing, but this place is bordering on complete negligence. The other locations are much more organized and efficient. Also as a warning if you're a couple of minutes late they will reschedule despite the fact you'll wait a MINIMUM of an hour. Again, I love planned parenthood and think it's an amazing organization, but if you have the means to do so please avoid this particular location at all costs as they do not give you the care you deserve. The Ferndale and Warren locations are much better.

S 143: First time ever going to a planned parenthood location & I won’t have the need to return. I originally had my appointment scheduled for Livonia but this location had a early date & time avail. Somewhat of a easy location to find & parking wasn’t too bad. My appointment started about 20 ish mins late even though I showed up on time ( right when they opened, apt was set for 8:20). I personally think they want to know way too much info , like how much income I bring in. Why does that matter or relate to what my appointment is for? Doctor removed my implant, took her a few to hold onto it in order to remove it. Accidentally hit my bone in the process due to where the Implant was located, which caused my hand to numb up for a few seconds. Not a fun feeling let me tell you hah. I did however get the other birth control in with no problem.

It you don't have insurance, they will let you know the prices of each option before you continue to be a patient or request any medications.It is always confidential, so you don't have to worry about anyone knowing, anything expect you and the doctor you visited.Very helpful place, and always protecting safe sex and tips!

Every part of the process went fairly well up until I have a very brief, appropriately 1 minute conversation with Dr. Peace regarding the medication I have been on for over 14 years. He flat out denied me treatment without as much as heating me out, after going through my medication several times with different members of the staff. I sat there for hours, paid my fees and made it abundantly clear what I was told to do in regards to my medications by members of the staff days in advance. I was poorly, and intentionally treated poorly by the doctor. I called the referring physician, describing my horrible treatment and told them that they should no longer refer patients with my particular pain management plan, to this office, let alone any other patient.

I stayed here from 10am - 2pm, no one told me i would be here this long over the phone. A lady also told me i was gonna receive a pregnancy test to take in 30 days. No one gave me one! No one made me feel safe , secure about the procedure or comfortable. i dont even think any one there knew what they were doing every one seemed lost and constantly asked questions as if they were new! save your health and mental by choosing somewhere safe! Very unprofessional it was honestly a nightmare.

They did everything they could to keep me calm and the administrator and director of nursing took my complaints very seriously and apologized immensely and they all hugged me before leaving.THAT DOCTOR IS A TERRIBLE ONE! Save yourself the pain and heart ache.

The women working there are rude and lazy and change the price on me every time I go there. Jillian W.: I'm late posting this, as this happened back in August of 2020, but this clinic saved my life.I went in thinking I had a miscarriage, but after they performed ultrasounds and blood tests, they advised me to go to an emergency room as they suspected a continuing pregnancy. I went to an ER asap, where it was confirmed I had an ectopic just outside my left ovary. Unfortunately, I needed my left fallopian tube removed, and it took days for me to recover, but I am alive and well and happy today. I shudder to think what may have happened to me had I not made my appointment, and had the staff at this Planned Parenthood not been prompt and professional with my care. I can't thank you all enough. I owe you my life 💖

Taylor Bagos: Next to impossible to get anyone to answer. As soon as you’re there you don’t ever hear the phone ring yet they have you on hold for over 10 minutes just for it to keep saying “high call volumes”

Nicole Doering: Everybody here is very nice and welcoming, and they’re taking great covid-19 precautions and they’re always on time for appointments!

Ananda Miller: The staff is nice, the clinician was thorough and took my pain seriously. The facility is really clean and the Covid protocols made me feel safe.

Ashley Fleming: I scheduled a appointment online and got a confirmation! two weeks later when I arrive for my appointment somehow they did not have my appointment in the system this was very frustrating because I left work early, but the receptionist was so sweet, professional and nice and she did schedule me another appointment because of her great customer service I was not as a set as I would’ve been.

Lila Free: I had a wonderful experience here, the staff was friendly, the wait was short and the service was exceptional.

Kelly Turner: I always go here and end up waiting a good 45 minutes just for a refill, even if I call ahead. Be prepared to be hung up on by receptionists with an attitude when you call to ask a question! Alicia is very good at that!

Burner Email: The receptionist is sweet as pie friendly. The medical assistant or nurse, not so much. The doctor was awesome. Don't expect any appointment to be on time or fast though. I wasn't even taken to the exam room until an hour later than my scheduled appointment time. In total I spent 2.5 hours here.

Jocelyn Grabowski: Exam was quick and painless. Don’t expect them to remember what you need though. Remind them several times if you are there for an exam and also want a script for birth control. Told the receptionist at check in that I needed it written which it was not. Despite my telling them that I have anxiety about going to the doctor they refused to have a script written after my exam and told me I had to reschedule for a consultation. Probably going to use another location from now on. I don’t care how much further away it is this was really upsetting to me.

Jessica Hunt: My doctor is so friendly and helpful. The staff is very nice as well.

Tiffany Cuthrell: I have been coming here for a couple of years, and am a staunch advocate of PP, but this particular office has really gone downhill. Every time I had gone in, I was told I could pick up my prescription at "any time". I drove 2 hours round trip on my 1 day off in September just to be told I couldn't pick up my medicine til after mid-October.Drove back in October got home to find that I had been given a different medicine than what I was prescribed.I have actually been in the hospital before due to side effects of changing a medicine too quickly, it's not something to mess with. I'm honestly shocked that this happened, and that the receptionist barely said two words to me, or any other patient in the office the last few times.Better communication between doctors and/or receptionists and the patients would be extremely beneficial, as well as making sure patients get their correct medicine.I'm definitely going to be finding a new place to go.
