Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren: what do users think?
Grant Munyon: The people running this organization feel like the type of folks who really like holding HOA positions.Helpful tip: if you plan to let the cat outdoors AT ALL, even if it's primarily an indoor cat, either don't apply here or don't mention it to them. My current cat is very much an inside cat, but she likes to go outside and rest under the patio furniture and get some sun and air. I've always been very careful with her, of course, but it's a system that's worked since she was a kitten. I mentioned this to them and that I would evaluate the new kitten in the same way - i.e., whether it was a good idea for her to be able to go out - and I could tell immediately it was a deal killer. To be clear, it's not the policy that I mind - I understand that some people don't think it's wise to let cats outside. PAAW should of course have whatever policies they want. That said, if it's a hard and fast agency rule, they should make that clear from the outset - I spent a fair amount of time filling out their app, finding a cat, alerting my friends and vets that they'd be calling for references, etc., and it was just a waste of time. Bad approach to this on their part; bad customer service.
Jordan: Will not respond to requests to be called. They literally refuse. Between the anonymous person we dealt with for an adoption via email and the combative old woman that answers the phone and talks over you, I feel terrible for these animals. They deserve better. They've been through enough and deserve people that are willing to do what it takes to find them a loving home. Shame on you two. You are speaking on their behalf and are failing them. They deserve better.
Verona H.: Animals are all 5 stars, but the people are 0.Me:-volunteered at The Bat Zone in BH, caring for 14 species of Bats, a dozen other wild animals, for 2 years,-volunteered with Noah's Ark in Las Vegas, we rescued dogs on their last day in high-kill shelters, where we then did adoptions at Petsmart in Henderson,-worked as a Vet Assistant at Banfield in Petsmart in Summerlin, LV-volunteered & worked at the Zoo outside Vegas, past Red Rocks,-have been an Emergency Volunteer for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in UT. I travel, with 100% my own money, to places after Disasters, such as Hurricanes, to help rescue pets, provide Vet services, food, shelter, etc.-ran Cat Rescue in LV, ended up moving back to MI, where I single-handedly moved THREE CHI'S & NINE RESCUE CATS from Vegas to Detroit, by myself.***I am also legally Hard of Hearing due to an AA Disease.***I have a Bachelors from UNLV & Masters from Wayne State. These women are going to tell ME.....what?My senior Siamese mix angel kitty got sick, turned out she had advanced stomach cancer.I spent over $900 to save her, sadly I could not.I have many new Cat trees, houses, beds, bowls, toys, lasers, treats, etc.I own a 3,200 SF house in Northville. No kids. My Chi will be 16 this summer. I will not be evicted, no allergies, live alone.Thought would be nice to get Bonded cats, so they could have a new home.As stated, I'm HoH, my Mom was Deaf. I picked out 2 sisters, kittens, one who had lost her hearing due to infections. They don't need to hear, perfect for me!2 hours filling out forms.Immediately got texts about declawing, letting cats outside. Um, see my experiences? They didn't read it.Questions about things like vaccines, what if I'm evicted, blah blah blah. With no permission, 9am on a Saturday, these people immediately blew up all my References! Anyone with a BRAIN knows this is a LAST step, nope. Then they called, texted former Vets. Then I get texts from Kristen, volunteer for kitties I wanted to adopt. As others noticed, she tried to come up with every excuse & issue she could, before she "handed it over to the organization."THREE different volunteers who were given access to my PERSONAL INFORMATION.She texted me about the "issues" I'd told the other Volunteer about. What issues? Your pets' vaccines. This stranger is telling me, with a Masters degree who worked at Banfield as a Vet Tech, about vaccine "issues."Sent dozens of pages of medical records from pets over $10,000 in bills. If you look on their site, states they need records going back a decade.SHE WAS TRYING TO GET RECORDS GOING BACK 20 YEARS!In 20 years, I've moved 7 times, gone thru Divorce, kicked out a long-term SO, & here this Volunteer demanded Not Her Business Records.Had them all. What was her go-to? Asked for records for Vaccines that are NOT REQUIRED.Then she wanted contact info. for ANOTHER VET to "make things easier." Every EXCUSE so in fact, SHE could keep these cats.Oh, I'm sorry, I don't have the sheet printed in 2009 about what vitamins my cat had, ya know while I'm busy moving 12 rescue animals 3,000 miles in an FJ - by myself.Said she'd bring kittens by in a week for a house check. These poor babies have all the time in world to wait on her. What happened?Nothing! Silence. No contact, she disappeared with all my info.Ran 5 References only 3 were required, demanded 20 years of medical records when 10 were required, are handing over my personal info. to multiple unpaid Volunteers, in practice - sending them into homes, asking PERSONAL QUESTIONS nothing to do with adopting. They're Discriminating against a Disabled person, refusing their business, holding me to different standards.Lovely animals, few good Volunteers, but Kristen, ones in charge, allowing applicant's personal info. out, those running this have no idea what they're doing.DISCRIMINATE.
David Altergott Jr: This place is a joke, I was approved for Andrew the Norwegian forest cat who is being fostered with Patrick Robb and apparently his ex wife.I was told he's available, and I spent a couple weeks talking with Patrick, and he right off the bat said he was available, I even offered to pay to hold and he said no need.I had a meeting setup but had a kidney stone and went into hospital, he agreed to meet up.Patrick said his schedule was very free as he works from home, though getting text responses was not very good. He then said he got fired and still was not responding very efficiently to my test.I've been trying to meet him, now this weekend he said he had family stuff going on.I messaged when can we meet during the week yesterday, after a couple weeks into this. Now he states that someone who applied before who didn't have interest now has interest and that superseded me being approved for him, and getting him.He States it's all the rescues choosing, whereas the rescue is saying it's miscommunication by him and his ex wife who are caring for him.what a waste of my time that I'll never get back!!
Dale Winfield: Do you have a new phone number, I tried calling you but your number is out of service.
Michael Landesman: Amazing amazing people that are doing great work! If you are looking to adopt you definitely should look a PAAWsEdit: a few months on and Frankie is healthy and amazing!!! She loves being out and about!
Moreom Rohman: 👍🏽😇
Code Halo: Wanted to adopt a cat that looked like one I used to have, so they gave me a call and said he was “so skittish he will just hide so you may not want him”. I’ve owned many cats, and yeah they’re going to be skittish when you first bring them home, I don’t have an issue with that. Then they tell me he should be in a home with only one cat after saying he’s good with other young cats, plural. So which is it?? Why do rescues always make up excuses for you to no want to adopt their animals, or bend the information so you’re unable to?
Octavia James: My daughter and I did some browsing around. Nice clean atmosphere and the pets are adorable. Definitely considering getting a pet pup from there eventually.
Sandra Fiorani: We love our new kitty. Short wait for application review. Friendly animal loving volunteers.
Amanda Martens: We adopted a kitten and she has become a really special part of our family. Our kitten's foster Mom did a great job raising her.
Patricia: It was great been looking for a labrador retriever mix and was about to give up had been looking 4/6 months I live in chronic pain and we had to put our dog down last year August that I raise from 9 weeks to nine years due to cancer and we had just get ready to decide we wanted another dog but we wanted to just get a laugh and I get all these websites and shelters and no response or nobody I begin to think something was not right with this process I was new to the application process then finally I saw one that I liked anyway they were great I ended up going to see a dog and then turn out not to be a great fit but they were great and look forward to working with them in the future
vlad mirk: They led me to believe the cat was available for adoption for days. I jumped thru all the app hoops( they even called my references ) to find out that I am approved but they gave the cat to someone else!!! No explanation, just " is there any other animal you may be interested in" ???What a joke of an organization.I hope they treat the animals better than the people who are willing to adopt these adorable pets.
April Peera: I adopted two kittens last July from PAAW! The process was thorough yet quick. Everything went so smoothly! I adopted Ravioli and Tortellini before they were spayed/neutered, but PAAW covered all of those costs. The adoption fees are very reasonable and affordable. After applying for the two kitties, I ended up finding out I knew their foster mom!! Small world! Their foster mom, Katie, was and is the best foster mom (I may be biased but she’s amazing!!).PAAW is lucky to have good volunteers like Katie! PAAW has their volunteers run auctions to raise funds for the animals they take in. That is a very fun and productive event!I love being able to give back to this awesome shelter! Thankful they brought me my Pasta Babes! ♥️😂
Paul Carlisle: Tried to adopt a cat that was listed as declawed. That wasn't a concern, the cat matched all our actual desires, so we applied. Quickly got follow up interview and our references were contacted. Then we heard nothing. I contacted them and they said we had been rejected because we had applied for a declawed cat that wasn't declawed; they even admitted it was their mistake in the listing, but we were rejected anyway. We explained to them that declawing wasn't a requirement, but they would not reconsider. Overall they've had good reviews, but over the last year they have been getting solid 1 and 2 start reviews due to senseless rejections like this. Change of personnel? Unknown, but they are working very hard to NOT allow cat adoptions.
Caroline Noel: Very nice staff over the phone but unsure how to adopt a cat!!!
Twiggy Dahl: Don't call the number listed, it's just a lady that tells you she only answers the phone and can't really answer anything, seriously. She also gets rude fast. Also, they deny based on personal opinions and or their mistakes that they won't acknowledge and then lay it all on the fact that they're just volunteers. Super disorganized. I've adopted twice from them and not only do they not have those records, their rules seem to change each time and based on who you talk to-- how does this help the animals? Two of the animals we adopted from there were already sick, the fosters and volunteers really are a mixed bag. It's so much harder than it should be, and then they tell you to find another rescue like there isn't a loving home here for an available animal living in a box at Petco. It feels wrong. I feel bad for the animals, some of these people don't actually seem to want to help them by being bad gatekeepers.
Bryan Harvey: Critical:ProfessionalismI inquired about adopting 2 cats and Sharon responded very rudely. I don’t recommend this place to anyone
Alana Costew: Critical:Professionalism
Kelsey Hughes: Great organization! They actually care about their animals and ensure they go to safe, quality homes. They have great policies like no declawing, always spay/neuter and indoor-only which supports their overall mission of supporting the good of animal welfare. Highly recommend!
Tashawna Simpson: Positive:Professionalism,Responsiveness

All About Animals Rescue: what do users think?
Peggy Oconnor: They were so amazing very kind good with the animals
carol randall-olsen: You get what you pay for - however, if I had to do it over again I would have chosen a full service vet to spay my female cat. I had a male & female fixed on the same day here. This is NOT a full service vet!!! Should your pet need any pain medication or antibiotics after surgery you have to take them somewhere else. In my opinion, the pain shot they send them home on, is definitely not adequate for females.
CREW LOVE: Great place they really put care and effort into their treatment of animals
Debra Cruz: My 8mos old kitten, Hunter, smelled a female in heat and his hormones went crazy! He began being aggressive and fighting with our other male cat. I already had an appointment scheduled for him to be neutered but it was a few months away. So, I emailed All About Animals and told them about my situation, and asked them if they could help me. They were able to neuter Hunter a few days later! Even without him having vaccines because I couldn't afford them at the time. The staff was friendly and the whole process went smoothly. He hasn't acted out since.Today I took Hunter to get his vaccines at one of their vaccination clinics and had him microchipped. All of his vaccines and the microchip only cost me $40!I'm so thankful to All About Animals for the low-cost services they offer. Because of them, I'm able to afford to take care of Hunter the way he deserves.
Dale M: They were all polite and they treated my pet great!
Sadie Lynn: This company really need to be shut down. It saddens me because I loved going here before.
Kala Pino: If you're a breeder, don't go here (or at least don't disclose that you are). They're definitely anti breeder!!! The old staff they used to have was amazing and I never had an issue until I tried bringing my current litter for vaccinations! I came 3 different times, and each time they told me no. Then the staff members with blue/green hair told me to come back the following Monday KNOWING they're closed on Mondays! The 5 way vaccines are safe for 6 weeks and older per all available information that exists (and they wouldn't vaccinate 2 days shy of 8 weeks). Everything they say is a lie and they think it's hilarious!
MsV: I took my Yorkiepoo in for his yearly vaccination and was charged two 20 dollar surcharge for each injection in which he had two. I was surprised when the cashier said 85 dollars. I was disappointed. Also they were trying to charge me for another injection that he already had recently which would’ve add a 25 dollar plus another 20 dollars in surcharges. What is this all because my puppy isn’t neutered I’m being punished. taking advantage of customers. Unhappy.
Crystal Ford: I used to think place was great but now they don't want u to bring your dog in if he barks or anything at all and want u to just sit in your car for hours at a time and some of the young girls that work there are snooty
Bernardine Carroll: Excellent services Caring staff. 👌
ICS: Staff was very nice. Amber helped me tremendously along the way.I was a tad upset that I was told to bring my cat in by no later than 7:15 am and then we were told to stand in different line, at 7:20 am, ,Then told to stand in line at back left of room and that was 7:45 am. 4 people cut in front of us and two people standing in line were a tad upset because they had to be at work at by. 8:30 am.You can tell they are overwhelmed and understaffed. I couldn't believe the amount of parents with pets were either picking up and parents dropping off. They are definitely busy here in Warren location.
jciolan1: Great they don't try to get rich off people who make sure farrel cats can't reproduce. Also making sure they are kept healthy with vaccines at a reasonable price..
Amber M: Always a great experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful no matter how busy or chaotic it is. You all are rockstars ♡
Hallie Wood: I can’t explain enough how happy I am with the Warren location! I haven’t been to the other locations but the staff at Warren is exceptional! They are simply amazing with our fur babies! I haven’t had an unpleasant interaction with one staff member at all! Every single visit has been amazing! They are very informative and very friendly!
Kerrie Diem: Very friendly and helpful
Taco Rose: Ever since my dog has gotten neutered, he has been peeing himself and I took him to a other vet and they said that they did his entire surgery wrong and where they cut they weren’t supposed to and they cut a nerve so now what they did is not reversible, and I have to deal with my dog peeing himself
Mella McCly: I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ this place!!! The staff is super nice, and you can tell that they love animals--the staff is so caring with my dogs. I have also adopted out feral cats--got them spayed/neutered first. We always get the best care here.I do have a primary vet for emergencies and surgeries, but for vaccinations and spay/neuter, this is the only place I go.I would like to commend the staff for giving such good care to our babies!❤️🙌❤️👏👏👏
Nicholas Haley: Never had an issue with spay and neuter but aparently the clinic isnt a clinic , or somthing. All i know is when i called and asked if i could bring a cat in with an eye infection I was told we dont do that here.
diana fiorini: wonderful place--just had my 2 cats neutered & everything was done so nicely--vets have been charging a lot of money & all about animals is very reasonable in comparison--only negative is it takes a while to get a neuter appointment--I just found out thatthey do walk ins in their 'wellness clinic'--they are open tuesday & friday 10-6----wednesday & thursday 1-7----saturday 10-3--prices are all very fair--staff are all real nice & they did some extras without charging--we are very pleased......
Melissa Rogers (Rissa): I don't know what I would do without them! They are GREAT with ALL my pets (I have 8 rescues lol) I love em. I would not be able to afford to care for them properly if it wasn't for these wonderful people. We all need to help their mission of no more homeless pets!! I wish I could take em all in but.....They spay and neuter for the cheapest price around and provide all shots and vaccines that you may need 😁I really hope more people donate or help them in any way. We need more people and places like this
Marvin Mitchell: This place really let itself go. It’s sad.

Animal Welfare Society: what do users think?
Robert Waldrop: They need to hire someone to come in and clean the store it stinks very badly in there
Ken Crampton: Really love this place very clean and great staff
Jill Ollila: Cats are $100 adoption fee and dogs are $300-350 adoption fee clean and well kept facility friendly staff
Stacia: Great place and loving people, I'm glad they are there to take care of all the animals that need a home. Thank you
Ivan Brownboy: Rude staff, unprofessional, and HIGHLY suspicious. Have worked in the animal rescue industry for 30 years and this place is the ONLY one who will jump through hoop after hoop to DENY adoptions/intake. Humans, but more importantly animals, should avoid this place in any capacity, and at all costs
Ryan Wojciechowski: Unprofessional, and dishonest. Their blatant misrepresentation of stray hold law (MCL 287.388) is an attempt to keep the shelter empty and operational costs low. They have no actual legal basis for their disgusting discriminatory adoption and intake policies. The threatening and intimidating signs plastered all over their building are a dead giveaway that this place has nothing but their own monetary interests at hand, while the well-being of local animals are their absolute last priority
Miso Nabra: Rude
Kyle Blair: Small Volunteer animal rescue.Friendly knowledgeable staff.Got a sweet fur baby from here.
Stephanie Rosette: There were two staff members that were nice and talked me through some of the questions I had about certain dogs. The dogs are wonderful, and they need loving homes 🏡We are hoping to add another furry friend to our family! We found such a handsome and sweet boy here, now we wait for the application process! The reason it is 3 stars is because of the way I was treated by the lady at the front desk... She was rude... and when I was asking her questions she had a very bad attitude when answering. She seemed very judgemental, and I was not comfortable around her. Maybe she was just having a rough day, but that isn't any way to treat someone looking to adopt one of thier animals. The other two staff members there were friendly and welcoming.
Youngjee Hong: We adopted 1.5 years old cat. She is healthy and friendly to us at new home. During first week adjustment, she hasn't made any trouble or concern. She is doing well.I hope she will live with us happily during her life span. All staffs in AWS were very kind and supportive for us to adopt the adorable cat. Thanks to all!
Dawn Bodnar: They helped me with some cat food.❤😻🐕
Cindy Rappold: We dropped off some blankets for the rescued pets. The facility was clean and the workers were very appreciative. We enjoyed our visit!
Gerilynn Arnold: Manager mumbles when one calls there. Concerned about the knives well being.
Alexandra Lynn: I brought quite a bit of cat food for donation & I was barely acknowledged... I didn't expect to be overly thanked - but I did expect to be acknowledged.I'm grateful for what they do there... and I adopted my cat there 13 years ago.
Lori Anderson: we adopted a puppy from here 1 year ago. the process was very thorough, yet quick & simplified.
Darneitta Jones: So many beautiful puppies and dogs that I wish I could have took them all home ❤️
Lori Faughnan: Everyone was so nice and helpful. It was very clean and animals well care for. I found the dog of my dreams there. I am over the moon happy with her!!! Feeling so Blessed that I got to take my fur baby home!!THANK YOU!! :)
Jean Moore: Staff was very professional. Very clean facility and very thorough vetting process. Enjoyable experience.
christina christina: For one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made the adoption process could not have gone any smoother. I went in and within minutes I found my cat or should I say she found me. The woman who assisted me throughout the process was very knowledgeable and made sure everything was throughly explained so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into.Just a little paperwork and some signing and she was mine. I was so pleased with how quickly things went and how soon I was able to bring her home. We met on Saturday 7/9/22 and by Monday 7/11/22 she was home. She is the absolute sweetest and adjusted to the move immediately.Highly recommend adopting here! It was truly a pleasant experience.
Cathy Vergis: Loved dealing with Brianna! She's a great asset to your business. Love my dog Ralphie as well.
Kellie Mahrle: Very friendly staff and patient with me during this process. The prices are reasonable. Animals are taken care of.
