Park West Gallery: what do users think?
sue lambert: We ordered a package of 10 framed prints, artist being Goddard, Cre8 and Max. We ordered from a cruise ship in March, to be delivered to Australia. When we returned after reading some reviews, I have to say I was very concerned about the whole deal, as we were talking about $17K AUD. But I needed had worried, they all arrived within the said 8 weeks, very well packed, and delivered. Extremely happy with the whole experience and service.
Douglas Dentler: My family and I have had a great experience partnering with Park West Gallery to learn about and obtain artwork. Their auction formats are educational and engaging, and their staff have been great to work with and are very responsive. Thank you to the Park West team for their support and partnership to learn more about the world of art.
Alan Stabler: Kerri Connelly was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable navigating through your system while checking on the status of items of great importance to us. It is with such firm confidence that we know Kerri will follow through and do everything possible to have these items expedited for shipping to us that my wife to be Anne and I can't recommend her highly enough. She is a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Colleen Ryfa: This company, their employees, art directors on cruise ships and customer service are very poor. I bought a Sam Park painting that I waited over 16wks (they tell you on the cruise ship up to 12 wks latest) and had to call several times to get this to come to me.. I probably would’ve waited 16 months if I didn’t call them about it weekly..Customer service is also famous for saying they will escalate to a manager who will call in 24-48 hours and this manager never calls. My worse recent situation (Feb 23) was I bought Thomas Kincaid print that I was told they would send it to me from their Miami office/warehouse. The night before disembarkation in Puerto Rico the art gallery called me at 11pm to come to gallery- there’s an issue. They told me my art work is the last one (Kincaid print - not true (lie)and I have to take it off with me. I told them I could but do it. They had it wrapped & forced me. I know I could not take it on my full cheapo flight so I tried to ship in Puerto Rico before flying home but it was Sunday and Fed Ex or UPS not open. The Uber drive said he would sent it for us the next day. I had no choice. Left it with him. Never received it..customer service continues to tell me too bad, your loss, no credit, no coupon, no small discount for a piece in my next cruise in May 2023. Once you buy from them and pay for it, good luck getting it unless you have the luxury of taking a nice piece with you… horrible customer service after the fact. I will remind people I know and on future cruises to stay away. I’m so disappointed in this company. We cruise 3 times a year and never again with go to an auction or purchase art work from Park West. Save yourself a big hassle and don’t deal with this company. Get your artwork elsewhere….zero to negative stars
Leo raykin: I have bought probably 4 maybe more pieces of art from the gallery all on cruise ships, this last purchase will be my last I strongly recommend to stay away from them since they have horrible customer service and make nothing but empty promises when something goes wrong. This last time I bought two pieces of art and a statue that came with one of the art pieces. The art came broken potentially through shipping the quality of the statue was absolutely horrible looked like it was done by a 5 year old nothing like we were shown on the ship.It has been nothing but a battle to get things handled with nothing but empty promises , going on over a month of dealing with the issues with no end in sight. We bought the art last year received in early march and are still dealing with it.STAY AWAY BUNCH OF LIES AND EMPTY PROMISES .
Marisa Q: I loved a piece by Matt Beyrer while cruising in March 2022. I purchased it prior to leaving the ship. Waited, waited, waited and phoned in July to find out that it had been oversold and I would not be receiving the artwork. I opted for a full refund. Called several more times and learned in November that my file was given to accounting and it could take up to 90 days to process a refund. I phoned late February and Micheal assured me he would find out the status and email me within 48 hours. The only emails I receive from PWG are invitations to attend online auctions; nothing, nada, zip has ever been emailed regarding my refund. And, 100% of the contact has been initiated by me.When they determined it was oversold, a solid business would contact the customer and resolve the matter; PWG hides and stalls. Here we are almost a year later from the purchase date and still no refund.Be very cautious when working with PWG.UPDATE 4-21-2023: I’ve sent an email as directed and have heard nothing concerning my refund. However, I have received emails announcing online auctions. I am going on a 16 day cruise this fall and will definitely think about these stalling tactics before raising may paddle.
eric crum: I just completed my first cruise on the Norwegian Dawn and attended every art showing and auction. Blaise, Kristin, Tony, Mandy and Robert were so nice, friendly and approachable. I do not know anything about art and always took to time to explain and answer and questions I had. I plan on going on many more cruises and hope that I have this staff on all my future cruises.
Igor Ansolis: Going to visit again
Mark Greenwell: Ordered a large Kinkade the week after our cruise, not during our time on the cruise ship. The PW staff was knowledgeable and the transaction was easy. Received the piece of art in great shape 60 days later (they said 60-90) from Fed Ex. Product was exactly as requested.
James Womack '94, MA: My wife and I have purchased a lot of artwork through Park West. Dozens of pieces, hundreds of thousands of dollars. While I enjoy the auctions, my recent experience with their customer "service" has seriously soured me on Park West.It has taken me over three months to take care of a simple return. And I am still getting the run around of "sir, we can only submit the requests, we can't do anything else." Try to talk to a supervisor to get someone who might be able to take care of the problem, and you get a stonewall of "our supervisors don't deal directly with clients."Meanwhile, I have received several invitations to onshore and online auctions! Needless to say, I haven't responded to those. I'd love to hear a direct response from someone who can actually make sure things get done. Until this is resolved, we won't be dealing with Park West again. If this issue ever gets resolved, I will update this review. Once it would have been a five-star.
Patty White: ***UPDATE***. Took 7 1/2 months and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to finally receive our artwork. We are done with PWG***. We have purchased many items from PWG and always have problems. We are now 6 months without receiving our Britto sculpture “Deep Love”. Our art dealer on the Royal Princess quoted us a price for this sculpture of $2380.00. The auctioneer agreed to said price and gavel went down. When we went to finalize paperwork they tried to charge a higher amount. We argued, they watched the video recording of the auction and said we were correct and they had to honor it. We figure this is the reason we have not received our sculpture and asked for a cancellation and refund. We were told no, all sales final. So they can not send you your purchase but you can’t get your money back. PWG has lost a VIP customer. Buyer Beware!
Christmas music: Purchased a Thomas Kinkade painting, well so I thought. The Park west employees on the cruise were very friendly but just found out they flat out lied. When I bidded on painting I was even told it was a beautiful painting. It's a freaking print!! I had so many witnesses with me and the lady said it was a painting when bidding and when I set up payment and framing! Will never fall for their lies again! Paid way too m.uch for a piece of Damm paper
John Zimmerman: Worst customer service on the planet!!!It's impossible to talk with a supervisor, especially if you get the misfortune of being connected with customer service specialist, Leila Alvarez. After asking multiple times when talking with her on the phone, she absolutely refused to let me speak with a supervisor regarding possible damage to an almost $2K piece of art. She insisted I send pictures, which I did and requested to be contacted by phone by a Supervisor. Ms. Alvarez answered by email for the next 5+ email exchanges. I never was contacted by a Supervisor, nor did she escalate my case to a supervisory level. That's the last of tens of thousands of dollars of art we have purchased from Park West over the years. NEVER AGAIN!! I challenged the piece of art we received as suspect, and I still believe it is. Shame on Park West for poorly training their front line customer service specialists and for their reluctance to place customer satisfaction as a top priority. As I reminded Ms. Alvarez, repeat business is the "name of the game." It fell on deaf ears. So, this customer will NOT be a repeat customer any longer!!!
Meredith McGonagle: Purchased a piece of art on a Celebrity cruise that I am excited to receive! When I opened the invoice, I am being charged for 3 pieces!! The one I am looking forward to receiving as well as 2 others that we NEVER committed to!!! Held them at the auction(lot of 3) and visited the gallery to confirm shipping on the 1 we want - salesperson said she was holding 2 of other 3, looked around and didn't care for any additional pieces and let her know that we were NOT committed to anything other than the piece we originally bid on and would let her know if we wanted to the others.Shocked to have reviewed the invoice, immediately called the customer service number, to be told by a less than helpful call agent that she could "exchange" them and would not refund my money. She 'assumes' that the salesperson thought I wanted them! I asked for a supervisor/manager and was told no one was available & that I can expect a call back with in 3 business days!Completely unacceptable! Not sure that I will even receive a call. Horrible customer service & experience after being so excited to get a great piece of art.
Jamie Connor: . The second, now I wish to go into a little detail. On the side of Park West, we purchased nine paintings and received all but one. Our one missed, the carrier used had depended on google maps and not the road signs (because the site has the roads mixed up
Russ Woodling: After attending several art auctions on prior cruises, we recently purchased four works of art when we were on the Nordam for an Australia and New Zealand cruise. The Park West staff was very helpful and informative as we made our selections. We were happy with how quickly our artwork was sent and it is all hanging in our house now since we received all our pieces within 8 weeks of returning home. For someone entering the world of buying fine art this is a great way to go.
Matthew Beyers: We bought a painting at an auction on a cruise at the beginning of Oct. 2022. We were told by the cruise art gallery manager that we would get that exact painting and that it just needed to be shipped back to Miami, re-framed and sent out. 12-16 weeks, no problem. Now it comes the beginning of February and we get an email that says that our painting is unavailable and they will open a one-time only refund for us - after holding more than $1500 in their hot little hands for more than 5 months. No one seems to know what happened to the painting. Customer service repeatedly says they do not know any more and can't provide any further information. Now we're not getting our painting and we're not at ALL satisfied with the answers or the customer service - where we they for 5 months? Our second painting still hasn't shipped, but they know where that one is. These people are total scam artists and have a no refund policy (something not made clear at the time of purchase). Stay away at all costs - last time I buy anything from them. Would give zero stars if possible.
GMI23 Marino: Park West...is a Total scam!Your associates are professionals liarsThis was the most DISAPPOINTING Experience! Would not recommend this gallery to anyone!!! Less than Zero customer service.Have a Nice day
Karen Lea: I purchased a painting through Park West on a cruise in August 2022. The painting was a Xmas present and I was originally supposed to receive the shipment in November… long story short… I just received my painting in February, 6 months later… Since November I have contacted the company every 2 weeks as every time I got a representative on the phone they said it was delayed another 2 weeks with no further explanation… I am writing this review because I wanted to acknowledge the “exceptional” customer service experience I received on my last call, from one of your representatives, Yanina Alvarez, I can’t thank her enough for all her help in expediting this process for me, and also her continuous updates to me so I knew exactly what was happening with the delay and delivery. It meant a great deal to me knowing that someone cared, listened and understood how frustrating it was to have this delivery delayed so long with not a word from the company. I am sincerely writing this letter of gratitude and recognition to your leadership team acknowledging how helpful she was. You are very fortunate to have her on your team and representing your company as she certainly turned a frustrated customer into a gratified one!Deepest regards, Karen L
Kerry Nakayama: It has been 8 months since I purchased my artwork and I still have not received it. I am in contact with customer service but will say that the service is limited and takes a week between most emails. My experience was I purchased 2 pieces on a cruise. I waited for 8 wks and no artwork arrived. I called and they told me they forgot to pull the artwork and I needed to wait for another 8 weeks. I waited and received 1 piece. I called and they told me I needed to wait for another 8 wks. I told them I was not waiting another 8 weeks so they expedited the piece. It arrived in November with the wrong frame on it. They tried to tell me I had never custom-ordered a frame. I showed the invoice that clearly stated I had custom ordered the frame. After 2 months with the framing department, it finally was ready to ship. I was told I would get a FedEx shipping update. I never did after a month I contacted them. At the end of January, I received the tracking code which I found was now lost in the mail. Park West called FedEx and sent the piece back to the framing department to inspect. It has now been another week and the piece still has not been sent back to me. While I'm in contact with Customer Service I would say 8 months is a pretty abysmal delivery schedule.
Jan: My husband and I purchased four pieces from Park West on board a Celebrity Ship in December. We did so as we felt Celebrity/Royal Caribbean would not do business with company that was not reputable. We were told 5- 6 weeks. Only one piece has been sent to date and I had to hound them.Request the company to cancel the test of the purchase except a Tarkay. Amanda a Supervisor there did not bother to tell me that once cancelled they then send the invoice to Celebrity and they then will return the funds. Can you believe it. I have no doubt this will take another number of weeks! Was just give. This information by another rep.DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. WORST YET THEY MAKE CELEBRITY LOOK BAD!!!!!!!!!!!worst experience everMy husband and I are still waiting on the return of our money as the piece we got was returned which Park west has said they received. Will be reaching out to the CEO of Celebrity next.We just found our receipt which we will be sending to American Express to try and get back our refund that way.UNETHICAL COMPANY.
