Katie B: It’s been a year since the auction for my late father’s estate and I still think about the absolutely amazing job Kenny did. Kenny and his men had their work cut out for them, since my father was a “collector” of any possible useful item. We had numerous sheds filled with motorcycles and lawn equipment and tools and building materials, not to mention an entire basement and garage filled with every power tool and hand tool imaginable, along with everything my dad had bought throughout his life. At every step, Kenny went above and beyond. When a particular item was lost in the sorting phase and not found during the auction, Kenny replaced it himself. When someone stole a boat motor during the auction, Kenny called the police and had the person come back and pay. I remember Kenny saying he would have called the police for something worth much less money because he doesn’t let people mess with his customers’ auctions. And perhaps the biggest thing of all was when I expressed unhappiness about a miscommunication following the auction, Kenny put in a huge amount of time and man-labor to ensure my expectations about his services were fully met.I am beyond grateful for Kenny and the work he and his men put in. I could never have sorted through all of my dad’s possessions or known their worth, let alone found buyers for everything. Kenny took a huge load off my mind during a very difficult time. I was too wrapped up in life transitions at the time to leave a review, so even though it’s a year later, I want to make sure people know about the absolutely stellar job Kenny did. I’d never even heard of estate auctions before stumbling upon his website, and having Kenny organize this auction was the biggest relief throughout the process of dealing with my dad’s passing. To anyone considering having an auction or asking Kenny to host it—don’t hesitate. Call Kenny up so you can start breathing a sigh of relief.

I contact Ken and he he set up a day to come and check everything out, he came through with his guys helped to clean the product up and set everything up for sale, we had the auction in less than 3 weeks. Did better than i expected would highly recommend Ken and his crew to everyone I know.

Jeremy Foster: I will never buy from these people again, at least not for an item being shipped. It took a month for them to even ship my $190 item, which was fragile, and when it arrived it was so poorly packaged it was destroyed. Hopefully UPS will accept a claim. Lesson learned! Never buy from an online auction that offers shipping.

Daryl Smith: I paid cash for an online auction and was told by Ken that he could not give me a receipt, but one would be sent by email. When I never received the receipt I called and talked to Ken and he said to check my spam folder but there was nothing there. He told me he would send it again and would call me when he sent it. That is the last I have heard from him and still no receipt. I sent a text a week ago with my bidder number and the amount but he never replied. All I am asking is that you do what you say you will do. Is that asking too much?Two years later and you finally replied? You said you would call when you sent my receipt. Your system didn't allow you to call either? It's a little late for my taxes from two years ago. Thanks anyways.

Ken and his team totally cleaned my estate and spent several days setting up for the auction. suzanne sena: Ken and the American Eagle Auction Company are incredible. Faced with the daunting task of going through my father’s 50+ years of junk in a stuffed-to-the-gills garage, my brother and I were at our wit’s end. Ken took one look at it and said not to worry, not only would they go through every item in there, they were confident that we saw as “junk” would be considered “treasures” to others and that we would have a successful auction. They never rushed, they took as long as necessary to categorize the items into sellable “lots” and photograph each and every item so they could be properly highlighted. It can be a difficult process parting with a loved-one’s belongings but Ken and his crew managed to put together a showing that would have made my father proud. In the end- all but one or two items sold and the proceeds far exceeded our expectations. No craigslist listing or garage sale could have even come close to the same results! Example- comics that might have been priced at .15 a piece at a garage sale ended up selling in a stack for more than $500! Start to finish- Ken made it easy. He’s responsive and professional and quite clearly an expert at his- he truly knows his stuff. HIGHLY recommend their services! . So grateful we found them - A true Godsend for us!

Steven DeBlauwe: I was moving out of Michigan and used this auctioneer. It was a big mistake. He did not advertise as in the contract. The amount of people was less than half of what he said would show up. Him and his family was doing the auction and they did the least amount of prep. And when it was all said and done they make accounting errors TWICE! Yes they corrected, but I had to find it.Don't make the same mistake I made.

Dawn McCune: When my dad passed away unexpectedly the grief took my to my knees. Trying to figure out what to do, from almost 1000 miles away, was almost more than I could handle. My dad had a house, 160 acres, cars, farm equipment and 3 horses.After speaking to multiple Realtors and auctioneers we decided the best thing to do was have an auction and use Kenny Lindsey and American Eagle. Kenny worked with Mike Furlo, who I also can't say enough good things about, and they worked HARD! They made multiple trips (2+ hours) to show the house and property, took all the furniture to the barn (so people wouldn't be tracking snow and mud through the house) and, best of all, they found good homes for the horses. Mike made 2 trips in one day to introduce the horses to their potential new owners and then came, using his truck and trailer to load and move them. The "youngster" was 10 years old and had never been off the property so it wasn't an easy job!The auction was well advertised, attended, organized and ran smoothly. Hopefully I will never be in this position again but if you are, I highly recommend Ken and Mike. They know their stuff but they're also friendly, understanding and compassionate.

I drove 1 1/2 hrs. hoping to do so. Day 1 of a two day sale with prices 2 -3 times the market selling price?!? How sad for the sellers who hired this firm. Potential buyer after potential buyer walked in and back out the door.There is a point where negotiation becomes out of the question. Imagine setting out to purchase an automobile and coming across a dealer with a 2-3 times greater mark up compared to every other. Of course, one just decides to save their breath and head on down the road!***** update to my review of 9/21/19 *****The owner's response (of 5/11/21 !) is completely false which causes me to feel an even greater responsibility with any help I may be able to offer to others through my review. A serious collector of art glass, one piece in particular which I had hoped to purchase was, in fact, advertised ahead of the sale with a price of $300. When I enquired at the sale, it was $600 with no room for negotiation per this company's owner personally! A whole host of other items advertised were initialed (kc) which this company's owner said was the family now not wanting to sell. Again, everything was priced far greater than current FAIR and FULL market price. Even the workers at the sale were completely embarassed by the prices. As I mentioned in my original review, potential customer after potential customer walked away empty handed and disappointed. The whole line of nonsense on all those ecstatic last day customers just doesn't add up here. BTW, this was a two day sale only. For those considering the hiring of an estate sale company, be diligent in your research. Sadly, there are those who will over price, not sell your items, then "generously" clean up the house just so immaculately for you afterward (ie take your items) "so you have nothing left to do but sell the home." Be careful in signing such an agreement when you are, most likely, at your most vulnerable.Sad. . .
