Kim'z Elevation School of Cosmetology: what do users think?
Dirt: When you call to inquire about their institution course the owner Kimberly. Is very defensive highly ratchet hostel and ghetto in demeanor. Warren City had to be called out her place was not up to code and she had not renewed certain paperwork. in making sure the facility was up to code!! It took her awhile with city planning to get it up to code .😳☒️⚠️☣️ Extremely petty I would not dare waste no money. When you asked her why doesn't she want to accept federal pell grants she becomes very hostile. Anytime you don't want to accept Federal Pell Grant says show me you really not up to code and you really don't have your stuff together in a raggedy building. She shouldn't even be allowed to be in business. πŸ’°πŸ’²πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŽπŸΌπŸ’‡πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Go where your school is nationally accredited. Non argumentative
Shea Benjamin: Mrs. Kim is an amazing educator, she is passionate about what she does and very patient with her students. I completed the program on time and passed my Michigan State Board Licensing Exams. I am confident that I will make a great Esthetician because of her guidance and leadership. I recommend this school to all that are interested in the beautification field. Support, support, support!
shea Mc reynolds: Seems like a very nice location. When you call I don't know if this is the owner but this individual claims she's the only instructor seems to be nasty hostile irate and ghetto. Has a problem if you want to know how long of course is and what is the cost. Gets a nastier attitude if you asked her why she doesn't take Federal Pell grants Federal loans.πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ‘ŽπŸΌ If you cannot treat people respectfully you won't stay in business long.. I watch a person that's not interested in getting Federal Pell or federal loans.πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ And become hostile and nasty about it πŸ‘ŽπŸΌπŸ˜²πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ. No need to become hostile and irate. If you don't have the help hire somebody but just being rude hostile ghetto by phone never called never called for. Here today gone tomorrow. Buyer beware. πŸ€§πŸ€―πŸ™†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸ˜²πŸ‘ŽπŸΌπŸ’―β€ΌοΈπŸ―

V. H.: Michelle and Ms Kym are BOTH Phenomenal ❣
Chyni Amore: I attend kimz elevation school of cosmetology and it is an amazing experience. The school is a small school so the learning experience is more one and one and I appreciate that. Ms Kim is very knowledgeable in the in beauty industry as a whole she knows her products and she’s very skillful.-soon to be liscensed nail techChyni Amore

Skinology Beauty Institute: what do users think?
Maria Saldez: I would stay far away from this school! The owner is extremely condescending, rude and very shady. I know so many girls who have had a horrible experience here. She will just take your money and not actually teach you anything at all. I’m very surprised she’s still opened!
Charlotte Ling: If you’re considering going to this school - just do it! Ms. Desiree is awesome, top notch products, and the school is prepping you to pass that state board and get you to your esthetics destination.
Tiffany LaBelle: The Esthetician program here is very unique and caters to what you take interest in. Along with theory book work you are able to do hands on services. Ms.Dee is willing to help you in anyway possible, as long as you’re not afraid to ask questions. Definitely recommend Skinology for those who are wanting to become Estheticians.
Howard Hertz: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat price. Great staff. Great location.
Bill Pritchard: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI brought my 11 year old granddaughter there for a facial. The students and staff were very friendly. My granddaughter wants me to take her every month.
Will Camp: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueI enrolled my daughter here and she had nothing but great things to say about the program. Thank you Ms Desiree for helping to get her to her dreams of being an esthetician
Great Lakes Management: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI had the best back treatment from a student. She zapped my acne bumps and now my back is clearing up. I will definitely return.
Rachelle Pritchard: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis school helped prepare me to take the state exam and pass on the first try! The staff was professional and friendly, and they had plenty of walk ins and models to practice my skills on. Would totally recommend.
Sonja Zuniga: I wish I would of seen the rating for this establishment before purchase. Actually I wouldn't call it much of a business since it's never open due to vacation taking not Covid issues. She even told me to get a refund from Groupon. Don't offer services that your not going to honor and waste people's time. You may think my time is not valuable compared to yours, this reason you will run your business to the ground. Good people save your money and time and pass up this placeIn response to your reply. I had the appointment and services with YOU!!! I'm the one who drove 30 minutes and it was until I called you that you mentioned to me that you called the day before to cancel my appointment and left a voicemail. You was already closed for weeks, and I asked why would you call the day before to cancel when you knew you wasn't open weeks ago. I tried to reschedule again with texts back and forth of you giving excuses to why I couldn't come. I explained to you my Groupon way about to expire and you replied to get a refund. yes I expected you to either still honor my Groupon and/or the services period! You thought I wasn't important enough to fix your mistake. Funny you try to come up with that lame excuse thinking that justifys your poor business ethics. You need to just shut down because with a one star rating nobody's going to use you for services, simply because you have no care for others. Fellow consumers please take my advice and stay clear from this place.

Ashley W: Absolutely loved my experience here! The instructors are very knowledgeable and have a great attention for detail. They are also great with feedback on your work. The pace is perfect for anyone wanting to become a make up artist. I highly recommend this school.
Salina Aponte: This Makeup academy was a great expreience! They have 2 different courses with flexible times for both. This was very affordable vs. doing a cosmetology program where even doing cosmetology it does not solefully focus on makeup. I learned so much in a short time span. The instructors were all amazing they had so much knowledge in makeup and shared so many tips and tricks! This is a hands on school which is the best expreience for people who learn better that way! This is only the beginning for this amazing academy!

P&A Scholars Beauty School: what do users think?
Cassandra Mcgee: One star is all this school deserves and ONLY because the instructors are good do I leave 1 start. The most unprofessional, disorganized, lack of supplies but plenty of roaches school I have ever been to!! Mrs.Monet pays out of pocket for supplies for the manicuring class to have what they need to learn. The administrative department ( with the exception of Ms.Janae) is SUPER DISORGANIZED. Don't go to school here. You'll never get the supplies your tuition paid for.UPDATE APRIL28- since P&A has time today to kick out generic responses to students who have negative comments about the school.First of all- the youmatter email was never in service for students to use when we went to file concerns. Maybe it couldn't work in the building because the administrator responsible for paying the internet bill kept forgetting to pay it for 3 weeks straight. How is a school of higher education supposed to function without internet? But with the lack of other supplies needed to learn being surprised by this I should not be on this. Teachers get reprimanded for photo copying learning materials for student. They wouldn't have to photo copy whole chapters of books of textbooks were not being held hostage for up to 10 weeks past class starting by administration. Everything is forever on back order for the school like yall order the stuff from Wish!! The lack of organization in this school make the worst DPS school look like Harvard or Yale!! Hell yall can't even keep enough hot water in the building for major events!! The few teacher that do stay only stay because they love their students. Oh yeah why do administrators kick some students out for speaking up against the BS here?I SAID WHAT I SAID! NO ASSUMPTIONS JUST FACTS !
Marshawn Hunt: Horrible Poor Choice Of School If Looking For Proper Education. The Owners kids Can Come Get Serviced No Matter The Type Of Time Or Day And For F R E E❗️❗️ But Students Went From Free To 1 0 D O L L A R S❗️❗️❗️To Most Recently Half off he Services Performed. Staff Smoking Cigarettes In The Back Room, Financial Aid Is A Scam Raising Hours Now To Release Students Checks. No Lessons Are Being Taught To The Students. Teachers Know And Doesn’t Care Which’s Why The State Board Turn Out Rate Is Horrible. They Have Eddie Here Cleaning Up And Doesn’t Pay Him. Staff Makes Him Work Like He’s A Slave.
antoinette ce: I’m a new student so I can’t really leave a full review. What I will say is that my instructors were very welcoming. I still have a lot to learn. Your experience is what you make it. Choose positivity and what’s around you won’t really matter!
M Nelson: Pre-Core class was amazing
Daizha Walton: I just finished pre-core and so far I have enjoyed the experience.
Amirra Parrish: I just started and so far I can say the pre core class was amazing there are things that have me nervous but only time can tell
shauna bridges: I am currently attending P&A scholars and when I tell y’all this school is amazing , they are the best. While in high school I never liked taking test it was test hard for me , but now I love coming to P&A everyday and I passed all my test , they make sure u get the knowledge u need to become successful. Staff is great and friendly. They welcome u and make u feel comfortable
Elisha Turner: Hey you guys I’m actually a current student attending P&A beauty school and I have to say we’re just not a school we’re family and the instructors try their best to help us any way they can every single day I love that we can come together and help each other succeed in thing we fall short on
Breanna Croff: Only reason you see 5 stars is because students are rewarded for good(FAKE) reviews!! I was 400 hours in and was forced to leave because I did not receive the proper education.Nor did I receive a KIT after being there for 4 MONTHS.They charged me full price for the course and I haven’t received anything that was supposed to be included in the tuition cost.Very unprofessional!!!!! The school is ran by 1 instructor who fails to do her job correctly. They argue all day, instructors get fired left and right, students stop showing up daily because of similar reasons.I spent 90% of my time sitting in a chair doing NOTHING!! I was doing clients before I was authorized to because they were short handed. They had me working on hair when I had no clue what to do.I didn’t learn how to properly shampoo until I was forced to do a client and they briefly explained it so I could get the job done. Not to mention I was using my own products because they did not have the tools to complete a basic hair style.DONOT!!!! Waste your money or time attending This program. All FALSE advertising just to get you in there. They lose the sign in sheet and refuse to give you an update of your hours. I could go on and on but I’d run out if space.Don’t waste your time here do yourself a favor and choose a different school
Whitney Butts: It was super unprofessional when I went there. The staff was always changing. Some had terrible attitudes, the supplies were lacking big time, our kits came late and they were the most basic of kits.. And now that I'm trying to get in contact with someone at the school about my transcript, either no one will answer the phone, the phone automatically hangs up or the building is closed. My entore experience with P&A past and present is just unprofessional.
Tiff M.: Manicure all the way! Everyone is awesome Ms. Angie, Mrs. A my instructor along with my step Instructor Mrs. Monet taught me a lot in a little bit of time. I have witnessed that most of all of the Instructors and students are great.
Tyra: Hello this is the last day of week 1 preview and I love the instructors ms.A ,mrs.Anna and the rest of the instructors. I learned so many new things just in one week and looking forward to learning a lot more from these wonderful instructors. Glad Iam able to attend this beauty school…
Jasmine Bradley: First week of pre-core was great! I learned about so many things that I didn’t know about. I feel like I’ve been given more motivation. Mrs. Aquila and Ms. Angie are amazing instructors and learning from them is a blessing.
BRANDY JOHNSON: P & A scholars is a great school!!! I just started in the manicuring program, and I love everything!!! I love my instructor (Mrs.Aquila) my time I spend in the course, and Mrs. Anna is both motivational and inspiring. Everyone here is helpful and nice, I can’t wait to GRADUATE!!!
Alante Beard: I am a student at P&A Scholars and i love how Professional the teachers ans they are fun an Inspirational they are.
Indya Murphy: The first week of pre-core was really good. Everybody have good energy and very understanding. Have uplifting people and videos to watch they really made it feel like home. Like we are a family. Everybody was welcoming with open arms I really liked Mrs. A and Ms.Angie was very cool and she related to us so much. It was all around a good first week.
Samya Carter: P&A is a very interesting and wonderful school to attend if you plan to join the hair industry The Great instructor ms.A and of course mrs.Anna is my two favorite. So far so good. And I’m excited about my future.
Shannon Moore: The 1st week of Pre-Core was very interesting. It allowed the new students to get to know the instructors and build rapport with classmates. Mrs. Aquila has been great with explaining everything in depth!
Euzetta Daniel: If I could give 0 stars I would. I was going to keep it cool until graduation but I’m actually pretty fed up with this school and the unprofessional staff/students which I will go into detail about in the coming weeks. First and foremost, I want people to know most of the reviews on here are complete lies which is very on brand for the school. In order to receive a free tshirt (which you need because you only receive 2 uniforms while you’re there) , you have to leave a review or buy one. So students leave nice reviews to get a shirt because no wants to wear the same thing 5 days a week or have to wash it 5 times a week. Do better for yourself and choose a better school.
Robin Bradshaw: The only reason you will see good reviews is because students were given free shirts...This is a horrible place to attend as far as Manicuring goes...My daughter was very. Passionate about Manicuring until attending here...It is sad when people of color treat their own in such a way that it damages ones enthusiasm about their career choice. I have reached out to the owners multiple times and no response .It is disturbing that most of the time they had no instruction. And was not being properly prepared for the State Board Exam. That is the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CLASS.The main concern of the owners was to receive 8000 dollars for what?. Students need to wise up and Sue them for this and have this establishment closed down due to so many factors..Most importantly not providing fundamental skills necessary to succeed .. Not providing the necessary and proper tools in their kits.Overall disservice to the students...I would not recommend this place at all. Sad sad sad
Angelique Stewart: Not Just A Cosmetology School 🏫We Are A family πŸ” Training on Social and professional settings. Appreciate being apart of this legacy and business πŸ’― Can’t wait to Graduate πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“ Start A new Chapter in my life with the support of teachers πŸ‘©β€πŸ«Ms. A not just the best teacher I ever had But a wonderful mentor . P & A is a school that is here to help generations to come ✨

Dymond Designs Beauty School: what do users think?
Cassandra Cannon: When I say I had my best time here! I had a time! I came to DDBS to refresh my knowledge in Manicuring. After being certified for 16 years it was a BLISSFUL feeling! I felt as if I was back in my High School program, I loved the discipline and support from the staff and the relationships I’ve built with the students. I can’t wait to return for my Manicuring Instructor Program because I really love it there! I strongly suggest DDBS! πŸ’œπŸ’Ž
Lindsey Tredway: my hair is so thick and the silk press was beautiful
Mia Woods: I am pleased to mention that I am writing this review as a LICENSED COSMETOLOGIST, and it is, in part, because of Dymond Designs Beauty School. When I began researching Beauty Schools to attend I stumbled upon Dymond Designs, and was sold almost immediately. They had checked off nearly all of the boxes I had.Firstly, it is a black-owned, woman-owned establishment that is dedicating to providing the most inclusive experience possible.Secondly, it is powered by individuals who continue to thrive in the competitive beauty industry, who find it important to foster a new generation of professionals that are equipped with the skill and knowledge to handle most, if not all, jobs.Thirdly, and most importantly, it felt like home. From Ms. Gaines and Ms. Vicky down to all of the the other students in attendance, everyone made it their duty to offer genuine camaraderie. To me, that is all I could ask for. With being a newly accredited institution, there were some bumps along the way, but none that were not met with great attention and consideration. With professionalism and passion, Ms. Marlene, the owner of Dymond Designs, along with the help of her right hand lady, Ms. Roxy, makes Dymond Designs a school that is worth committing to. I have enjoyed being β€œdymonized” and will build on all that I’ve learned as I continue growing in the field of cosmetology. πŸ™‚by the way, the state board exams were changed not more than two months before I graduated… and I only had to take them once to get my license! If that isn’t proper preparation I don’t know what is.
Janya: Today is December 28, 2022, officially my last day at Dymond Designs Beauty School and I just wanna say I highly recommend this school. I have really enjoyed my time here. The hair shows and demos have been very amazing and very fun I’ve definitely learned a lot of things from them. My overall experience here has been amazing. The instructors here are amazing and very helpful. Ms Marlene is an amazing owner and she really has inspired me and taught me a lot of things. I first started here October 2021 in the cosmetology program. I thought I really wanted to do hair but I just think it was too much for me. I may have been good at it but it wasn’t for me. I almost gave up on beauty school and almost made that decision to completely withdraw from the school but I decided to switch to the manicuring program August of this year and that was the best decision I’ve ever made. I Instantly fell in love with it. My mom has been my biggest supporter and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. She has been on me making sure I’m on top on my stuff to complete this program. She has never gave up on me and has inspired me to keep going, to never give up. I wish I would’ve made the switch earlier. If you ever enroll at Dymond Designs Beauty School and you feel like wether it’s the cosmetology, manicuring or esthetics program is not for you, don’t wait too long to switch like I did, make that switch within 30 days of being here. Remember to never give up because great things take time. Keep going, all this hard work will be worth it in the end.
Jamila J.: I had an amazing experience at Dymond Designs Beauty School! Everyone was very patient, very nice! I love my new hairstyle, and can’t wait to come back soon

They go way above the basics a normal beauty school could offer! Thank you DDBS for everything!❀️
Brianna Lee: I had such a great experience at DDBS! And I always recommend anyone that’s interested in the beauty industry to study here. The owner Mrs. Marlene cares about her students and she works hard to ensure that everyone that comes in comes out licensed! I traveled from Flint to Detroit on the days required and managed to graduate within a good time frame. I passed State Board on the first try with the help of the amazing facility and instructors. I encourage you to attend.
Leah Morris: This school is great ! Dymond Design helped me master my craft . The staff of the school was very helpful and nice it felt like family . Things that I was not sure about in the Esthetician field came to life with the help of the school. There was so much motivation! They pushed us everyday , with us also putting the work in as well . Everything I needed I received and more ! I’m elated that I choose this school! Ladies don’t wait go ahead and enroll you will not be disappointed!
Ja'Net Turner: This is the best school ever. They have so much training to offer and and you definitely will be equipped to pass your state board test..
Karri Cosley: Coming to DDBS has opened so many doors for me. They taught me everything I needed to know and more about the esthetics field. They pushed me to finally follow my dreams and do something I am so passionate about. I want to thank everyone at DDBS for believing in me and giving me that push that I needed. For anyone looking for a school to become licensed in esthetics, cosmology, or nails this is the PERFECT school for you. It’ll be a decision that you’d be proud you made and will not regret!!!
D'Juana Henderson: Best place I have ever worked! Family atmosphere, growth opportunities and education assistance. It's amazing to come to work and know that you are valued and shown that you are valued. It's one thing to say it but to actually be shown is a different ballgame and I have that here. I actually wake up and look forward to going to work!
brittany hughes: This school is phenomenal I was a student and then became an employee during Covid and I can say that this was the best school and job I ever had, and I know I will always have a spot there if I ever wanted to teach again. I sit on the board of Esthetics on the back end and the school is flourishing and I’m soooo happy, I seen the school before it was a school when it just was a dream, and What I can say about Marlene Brooks is that she is a women of her word!! She has been my mentor since I was 19yrs old and I am now 36yrs old and everything she ever said she was gonna do business or personal she has done!!!πŸ—£πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
tywan turner: I love when I walked in to get service done I was greeted. The atmosphere is so professional
Markita Brown: I just wanted to share my experience to anyone that is unsure rather or not this school will be right for you I’d like to say go for it you will not regret it!!! So glad I chose to attend here I was sad to leave but very confident at the journey that’s ahead.Looking forward to taking my state exam next week, Dymond Design Beauty school has over prepared me for this so I’m sure I’ll walk out a licensed nail tech 😊 This school has went above and beyond at teaching me everything I need to know, open many doors for me, I have already been offered a few job opportunities, so you will be successful as long as you’re willing to do your part πŸ˜‰ The staff here are truly a blessing!
Donashia Gilmer: I started my Esthetics journey in May of this year and I could not be more happy that I chose this school. This school definitely has a family environment. Being surrounded by lovely ladies of color really empowered me and pushed me to achieve my goals. I just so happened to finish school a month early. I’m leaving with so much experience and knowledge. I definitely recommend this school for anyone looking to get a lot of hands on experience as well as a huge amount of support!
Zaleeza McGee: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis school is definitely the bomb.com it’s a family like environment and they care about your education seriously I LOVED AND ENJOYED MY TIME THERE THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO. They’re amazing 🀩

Multimedia Makeup Academy of Esthetics, Cosmetology and Special FX: what do users think?
Libby Harper: I have so many good things to say about this school but what I will say is that this school has created a beyond inviting atmosphere. I have made countless new friends and I’ve even found β€œmy people”. Aside from how much i’ve learned, i am leaving feeling so confident in my skills! There is so much creativity flowing through this school it’s almost contagious. I wouldn’t change a single thing about my decision to come here and i reccomend other creatives do too!
Allison Kandt: This school felt like home. Staff is beyond amazing!!!
Rachel Dee: I had a really good experience at MMA. The environment was great and the instructors are very helpful. You learn a lot in the short time you are in school it goes by too quick.
Its_Chuck 1234: Emerson was kind soft spoken and really great with her hands I will definitely be coming back for another massage
Kiarra Coleman: My experience with Alisa was so pleasant and nice. The place was a welcoming, clean and very organized place. I enjoyed the soothing music and kindness of everyone. Prices are very affordable, i’ll definitely be back!
Ben Hendershot: I had a great experience at MMA. The staff are very encouraging and want all the students to do well. The instructors are passionate about their work and are more than willing to help you if you have questions. My favorite part was learning about different makeup looks and how to execute them.
Lori Sparx: I attended this school for multiple years. The amount of knowledge and skill I acquired here is unmeasurable. The instructors are great at giving constructive criticism and helping to guide you throughout the programs.I originally only wanted to attend for the special effects program but I ended up taking all of the classes. I left the school feeling confident in my artistry and well equipped to handle myself in professional environments. The school gave me many opportunities to try different things and openned me up to styles of makeup I had never tried before.I learned many things at this school, but one of the biggest takeaways is to never give up. It's easy to feel behind or not good enough in this industry. But I learned that skill for makeup artistry is something that takes time, persistence and courage. Never give up and keep trying to best yourself.Thank you MMA.
Brittney Reed: I’m so grateful for MMA! I graduated from the sfx program, in the old building. Watching the school grow has been rad and I’m so glad I got to come back and get my estheticians edu & education! The current instructors are passionate, the school has a big focus on sanitation and safety procedures, and unlike a lot of programs they teach business courses, media, and walk you through state prep and registering for the exam which helps so much during a stressful process.
spfxbylex: I love Multimedia Makeup Academy, the school has many opportunities and a great esthetics program. I loved being apart of the special effects class and making amazing friends. The staff is supportive and great to talk to for advice, I love Nicole, Jen, Crystal, and Christina. They made the best impact on the artist I am today!
Kristin Simms: I went to multimedia for 4 years and it was the best 4 years of my life. The atmosphere is so welcoming and fun. The staff is great. They are so welcoming, helpful and friendly. If you have a question they will do anything and everything in their power to help you find the answer. MMA gives you a-lot of opportunities to grow as an artist as well. The students are amazing as well. There’s no drama or anything like there. Which is great. The instructors always give positive feedback. Even if the work you did wasn’t your best they tell you in a non negative way. If you’re looking to starting your career in makeup I highly recommend MMA.MMA will forever hold a place in my heart. Thank you for helping me become the artist I am today.
m z: The staff and services are super wonderful. Full attention to detail and very caring environment. The staff are very dedicated, and go beyond what is expected to deliver their services. Supervisors and staff greatest team to please. Super prices. Strongly recommended.
Reem Maqboul: Wonderful Job
Gmommy Banks: Bree did a wonderful job on my brows today. Thank you!
Nyza Villarreal: I am a recent graduate from MMA and I have nothing but great things to say about this school. I was looking to get my esthetician license, but after visiting 3 different schools MMA stood out the most. They have highly knowledgeable instructors that share their tips and tricks to be successful in the real world. What they offer is above and beyond any other school I’ve looked into. I was convinced when I saw the amazing makeup work in media & special fox! I wasn’t disappointed!! The staff is incredibly supportive of your unique goals and will do everything they can to help you get there. I feel confident and prepared to start my journey in esthetics! I can’t thank Crystal, Nicole, Demi, Jen, Sarah, Bianca, and Christina enough for everything they taught me I’m so proud to be a MMA alumni!
jennifer Lokar: I went to MMA for my esthetician’s license and for sfx makeup classes. I had an amazing time when i was there, i fell in love with the environment and the people around me quickly. My favorite part of the school was my sfx classes, my teachers were just perfect, they tend become your friends instead of teachers and it makes learning so much more fun and rewarding. They offer many opportunities off campus to work with people in the field and get some real time applications done so you get a feel of what it would be to work in the field outside of school. The school also offers strong networking opportunities to get yourself started. This school was an amazing experience and opportunity and I recommend it for anyone who’s interested. In depth learning and amazing staff to assist whenever. Highly recommend!
Jules G: Had a very relaxing and soothing facial! The skin analysis and recommendations helped me to create a skincare plan for myself, and I have been seeing improvements in some flare-ups with dry itchy and flaky skin! 10/10 will go again!
Dawn Kandt: Allison was very informative. She answered all my questions.
Rachael Burt: My time at MMA was priceless, I learned so much more than I expected. I signed up for the FX program but got a full well rounded education in beauty, media, wedding and avant garde makeup. Since graduation I've returned several times just too see everyone and make some latex foams masks for different projects, this school will forever support me in my endeavors and they have proven that to me. I recommend this school to anyone interested in makeup at any level.
Maria Nadeau: As of today, I am officially a Michigan State Licensed Esthetician and I owe it all to MMA! I give this school 5 stars because they have set me up for success from the day I walked into the school, until I took my state boards. This school is not like any others and will always take the time to help you navigate your career, answer questions and provide endless opportunities. MMA has exceeded my expectations and I highly suggest this school to anyone who is thinking of going into the beauty industry.
Rora: Kind people. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They make you feel comfortable and answer any questions you might have. They perform an array of services at great prices. If you're coming in for a wax and it's your first time or you have very sensitive skin like mine, I strongly recommend requesting the hard wax. I came here for a wax, haircut and eyelash lift. Will be returning!
Bree Dallas: I had a wonderful experience. I had a hair cut and a hair treatment by Jasmine. She was down to earth and very professional. Her ability to learn and accept critique from her instructor was impeccable. I would recommend this salon to everyone!

David Pressley School of Cosmetology: what do users think?
Gwen Thomas: Don't waste your time. Major cultural insensitivity, whether you are a school or not, you are listed as a business first encountered a blatant racist incident. The instructor humiliated me when I asked the student about her flat ironing technique on my hair, despite the student burning me several times with a hairdryer. This timid kid played victim like she was entitled to do. No communication skills and barely said two words. She did not want to do black hair. I was left with unfinished hair that was a mess. The only reason they have a star is that two girls weeks before were trained well and had excellent communication skills, so much says so that I tipped them. One student said she wanted me to show her how what was right and wrong so she could be better. What a difference a week makes. The sad thing is the instructors don't know any better. These kids need to learn from their mistakes; otherwise, how can they grow? Otherwise, they will never be able to evaluate themselves to become solution-centered adults. I am not returning to a place that treats customers this way.
Kayla Bradley: Everyone is nice and kind, very hands on with great learning experiences

Shelby Lynch: I am currently an esthetician student at David Pressley. So far I love the program, staff and my colleagues. The class size is relatively small so it feels intimate. Each student is able to get ample observation and assistance this way! I feel like I have already learned so much and I am confident that I will be well prepared for a career in esthetics after completing the program! I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a quality education in esthetics or cosmetology!
Queen Dorsey: I heard a lot of good things requiring the school. Loving it so far

Akeia Hunt: I had a great experience at this location. Stylist/student was patient and kind. I got a wash, steam treatment, and braids that I absolutely love. So In love with my hair. I will return

Michigan College of Beauty: what do users think?
A C: Tried to get a pedicure done here for the first time today.Walked in, was checked in fairly quickly, paid, and taken downstairs for the nail service.Unfortunately I didn't last more than 5 mins downstairs and decided to leave while the student was setting up for the service. The ventilation was nonexistent. The chemicals smell here was so strong it was sickening. I feel kind of bad for the students, that really can't be safe.I went back upstairs and was refunded no problem.Customer Service and pricing was was fine. The safety and cleanliness of the nail salon area in the basement was highly concerning though!
Drama Turkish: Don’t waste your money and your time in this school. 90% of the time you are sitting down doing nothing. Very rude instructor and make you look stupid when you ask a question. They fight with students and cause problems. With other schools, students learn so many different things and receive amazing products. Not to mention, the program is a lot cheaper. They set their students to be on their own when they graduate. ( I recommend skinology beauty institute school). We didn’t learn anything, I had to teach myself outside of school. The place is very dirty, the towels we use for facials they use them to swipe the floors. Very disgusting! The makeup instructor doesn’t know anything, the whole two weeks you are watching YouTube videos.
Deb Gibbs: Love going to the beauty school. Been going for year's. Love self care πŸ’“ Mitzi the nail instructor is awesome and she teaches her student's well. The student's are wonderful. The greeter's at front desk are awesome. Keep up the effort.
Wafaa Kama: Great customer service with the. Best price everNo one can compete it
Amanda Putrus: Ms carol was so nice and polite when I came and got my nails done so professional and great energy every time I come to Mcb I would recommend every to this school thank you for being great !!!
Kiley Archer: This was the best decision ever. I went to get my nails done right before spring break, and I wasn’t expecting it to turn out so beautiful. Diamond was SOOOO GOODDDDDD. Such a positive environment and will definitely be coming back
LaAtronique Polk: I just graduated March 23’ from the manicure program, Ms.Carol was my instructor and was the absolutely best!!! I’m glad I was able to have her as my teacher, she taught more than just nails but how to be a better person and independent contractor. I’ve witnessed her deal with a bunch of bull from students AND staff members which is insane because that’s not the time or place for any of it. But she managed to still do her job despite all the unnecessary drama caused from these individuals. Again I’m beyond happy I was able to learn from this woman. It wasn’t all cakes and pies but that was my own problem learning to listen & take accountability something she also helped me realize. Thank you Ms.Carol, MCB needs to APPRECIATE you more.
Patricia Smith: I’ve been coming to MCB for years and really enjoy getting my nails done. Ms. C is the daytime instructor and has done a really good job training the students.
Luisa Sterbyci: Went to school here October 2022- March 2023 esthetics program in Troy MI... Going to school here was a nightmare. So much miscommunication between staff, instructors don’t know anything + need more training all while paying 12k$+ and walking out without knowing anything. I will mention that the goal of this school is to only get you ready for state boards and they told us that at the end when I finished which sucked cuz had I known that I would have gone somewhere else and taken my money to learn throughout the duration of school. Getting ready for state boards was a week thing so spending 12k for a week of preparing for state boards was a slap to the face. Anything I learned was from YouTube videos / podcasts on my own time. When you tour this school make sure you ask every question( seriously anything you can think of) , cuz some will lie or they didn’t know so they made up stuff. Everybody says something different. For example I paid 15$ in the beginning and I thought it was for state boards and she assured me and said β€œnope! You won’t have to pay anything this is it!” 245$ later that was not the case. Kit is 2k so be warned that the things you get does not equal the 2k. This school is out dated and old as they well know which is fine but I’m not sure where each students tuition is going to if there’s no remodel/ updates. Esthetics instructor were nice but they were all reading from the same book I bought that (Tuition) so I spent 12k to learn absolutely nothing. I mean 0. Hardly any point for the instructors because any question I would ask they didn’t know the answer or they gave me the wrong one just to give an answer. Things were demo’d once which is kinda silly. There goes my tuition for the one time demo. Some instructors were younger than me and 24. I was expecting instructors to be full of knowledge and I would learn so much from there but that did not happen. Lots of other ridiculous things happened but the one that thing that makes me upset after all of this is that these people can take my hard earned money and not care that these students aren’t learning anything. I can’t believe I have to tell my friends and family that I learned nothing. That’s what keeps me up at night considering they’ve been open since the 90s so to me it’s just to make money and could care less about the students education. We voiced our concerns throughout the whole 6 months and they only approached us when we were graduating. Doesn’t look good as did many other things. If you need help with state boards come here but be prepared to learn absolutely nothing. Tour every school and ask all those questions as well as confirming with another source .
Phuong Do: Great and welcoming school! absolutely fabulous always feel at home! A long time and returning client I always have a great experience. Angelica took care of me this time and I look stunning!
Faten Tolla: This school is great. Everyone is very helpful. They encourage students to succeed. Very much enjoyed attending school here. I will miss everyone. Thank you!
Kawther Ahmed: the school is very beautiful and classy. l want to say thank you a lot to the teacher's and the school also l will reach my goals 😍 Anyone can do it
Chrissy Walters: These ladys are the best! I walked in an Terri lee Frederick took suck good care of me. The worlds best facial then the hair! Coco is a former student of Wendy Pippin. She (coco) sat me down an I went from bleached yellow all over the place, to beautiful color an cutt that I absolutely love! Between the staff l and teachers they sure are the best at what they do!
Robbie Kristoff: Excellent school and staff! Would highly recommend to anyone that wants to enter the beauty industry as a cosmetologist, esthetician, or nail technician to look into enrolling and attending one of the three programs here. The staff is warm and inviting and they create and maintain a learning environment that is conducive to the goals of the students.
Wendy Pippin: Best training around!!
Mary Isokpehi: Great school.
Taliah Harrison: My time at the school was long and tiresome, but great and very worth it. I feel prepared to take and pass my state boards thanks to the esthetic department instructors (Ms. D and Ms. Cece) and I’ve even found my niche. I definitely recommend coming to this school and learning as much as you can.
TreSam Moore: This school has been a blessing to my life from the first day. I suffer from several disabilities and Mr. D and the staff has been most accommodating to me and making sure that I did not feel out of place during my time as a student. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are willing to go the extra mile for you to understand the instructions at hand. Ms. Kris, the manager works diligently with each student’s schedule to ensure that you are successful during your junior and senior classes. The administrative staff also makes sure that you are aware of your standing academically and according to your student loans. If you are driven, and you know what your end goal is in the beauty industry, YOU WILL SUCCEED AT MICHIGAN COLLEGE OF BEAUTY! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ§‘πŸ™ŒπŸΎ
Rachel Nabood: I went to a different school before this one so I’m able to compare the two and I can tell you that Michigan College of Beauty is an amazing school. They actually care about their students and just want what’s best for them. My last school only cared about the money. I was there for 900 hours and learned more at MCB in 300 hours. MCB has made sure that I’m 100% ready to go out into the real world and has even given me salon recommendations to apply too when I leave. I definitely recommend this school over any other when it comes to getting your cosmetology license.
Denise Park: Prices and service is excellent πŸ‘Plan to be a frequent customer! They took extra care with my daughter Anjel!
Demi Williams: Lovely School, Lovely staff, they really care about their students and really want you to get it. If you trying to pass state board I recommend this school. They really prepare you.
