Steve French: If you are older than your mid 20's and have no formal experience good luck joining. They'll pretty much just ignore you. Don't know how many guys I talked to that wanted to join but never heard anything back, only thing they had in common over mid twenties and no formal experience... Pay gets lower every contract.Add inflation to the old contract and apprentice pay is over 1$/hr lower and journeyman is over 2.50$/hr lower.. My grandpa, dad and uncle are all retired union Carpenters. Starting pay adjusted for inflation grandpa 31$/hr, dad 26$/hr, uncle 24$/hr. Starting pay is only 17.99$/hr. Not worth it to destroy your body. You can got make just as much or more at an indoor job were you don't destroy your body

Melissa Buot-Favazza: The venue was great, the ballroom was large but unfortunately the food was average. I was there for a luncheon buffet - menu consisted of normal buffet fare of tossed salad, bean salad, mashed red potatoes, roast beef with mushrooms, herb chicken, pasta with alfredo sauce and rolls. They also offered an appetizer table with fresh vegetables and meat balls. Everything else was good except the roast beef was not tender and the pasta with Alfredo sauce really did not have any parmesan taste - it was kind of blah. Also, I'm not sure if they were able to dim the lights instead of just turning them off on one side.

DETROITER 99: Great program but it's hard to journey out and the benifets are not very good especially when the pension plan with them is in alot of trouble. The laborers union has better benifets and offers a large range of work to keep you busy through the year

SK Mackay: We contracted a bathroom tub replacement and tile floor installation late last year. The guys were friendly and worked long hours, but the work itself was not the best. It also took a few weeks due to mistakes being made.Initially, there were issues with the installation such as the new shower pan not being installed correctly, which resulted in them having to come back to re-set things. This resulted in messy sheetrock work, uneven tiles, black grout stains in the new shower pan, and a shower paneling not being properly sealed to the wall itself. Tiles started "popping" about a month after the installation. Not wanting to deal with the hassle, we had to hire new contracts to fix things--this ultimately cost us almost double the initial quote.I would say be extremely specific with what you want done, and check things regularly. While they are nice, it seemed to me that they did not have much experience with the replacement of a tub with a shower pan.
Angie Hawthorne: Bulldog Improvements did an amazing job on our full bath renovation. Chris and the crew were professional, on time, and always set expectations. Communication was prompt and when the job was complete I realized we should have put a dimmer on the vanity light and they came back and changed it with no issue. I was very nervous as it was our first big renovation in our home. I called a few contractors for estimates, Chris was humble, responsive and honest, I went with my gut and was very happy, they were beyond reliable. I highly recommend them for any job and will definitely be calling for future projects.

They started in May and finish before the end of the year. The work was done beautifully with a strong attention to detail. Michelle Adamo-Shine: I contacted Bulldog Improvements after receiving several recommendations on our town's Facebook site. My call was returned promptly and an estimate to install our sliding patio door was given in a timely manner. Chris and Shawn came to our home on time and when expected. They were neat and cleaned up the workspace. Unfortunately, there was a bag of installation hardware that was missing from the box when my husband and I purchased the door. Chris identified which pieces were missing and relayed the information on the phone to a representative at Lowe's. He continued to work while I went to Lowe's to retrieve the missing pieces and completed the installation upon my return. I cannot say enough about how impressed my husband and I were with them.
