Rare Coins Of Michigan: what do users think?
teesdippins: Been there 3 times in the last month, no one there. Waste of time. Never open
Polo Henry: Worst customer service i've had all year. The old guy who works in this shop is insufferable. He's hilarious. But in the worst possible way.I found a few better shops in Oakland County. Honestly...anywhere else would be better
Melinda Abro: This used to be my favorite place Every time I callEvery time I call there just want to getI just want to getsMy coins gradedOr a total of what I need to bring with meCuz I want to buy trades or whateverI don't even getHalf of an answerAll he tells me is to come in
R.J. Halthon: Rude
turboZ: Good experience got what i needed and got out.
Kai Silberstrom: Based on the reviews, we almost skipped going here. But I’m so glad we saw so many good reviews and came in.The owner has been in the business for a long time, and he’s getting older so he’s not as chatty as some of the other resale shops on Van Dyke, but he’s a busy man and in demand. The shop is a gem. His collection is truly amazing. Great selection of 1 oz gold coins and other commodities and he also has some very unique items from American and Michigan history. If you love collecting and buying coins, give him a shot.
SterlingGEast: I called to ask simple questions and there’s old man that’s very rude I’m assuming he is the owner and he should retired now and let his family take over and he told me some very inappropriate words to me that I can’t say and it was very nasty words he should be ashamed of his self and have respect for people and customers he haves to big of a high temper so what ever you do don’t even waste your time calling or going to he’s place it’ should closed down because I’m not only one with this bad review there’s multiple complaints about this place …!
Greg Keys: Poor service!!!!
Kevin Schmieder: Lots of poor reviews for this shop, which is a shame. I found the owner to be pleasant. There was a large selection of Proof & mint sets, bullion, and proof silver eagles. However, I was looking for older collectible pieces and was told all the good stuff that comes in goes straight to his established clients. No problem with that at all. That is what happens when you build up a business and clientele. Disappointed there were none left over for me though! haha
mj scorpio: Wondering what happened to the owner it's been almost a month. Praying everything is ok
Frank Butkovich: Sound like this place is a bad place, thanks everyone for the reviews, I'm an avid collector, and will not waste my time shopping or selling here. Very poor reviews.
Gordon D: If you call this place for any kind of information regarding price, you will be answered very rudely. I have never experienced this kind of customer service from an owner of a business! Totally unprofessional. If Zero stars was an option, I would have gave it a zero,,he doesn't deserve to be in business with that kind of attitude.
Brian Smith: Tricky place
Rascal05: The gentleman there was rude and condescending.
Vincent DiMarzio: I don't understand these people that say Mike is a rude person because he is "not"the store is a hidden gem with a fairly expensive variety of coinage and I hope to deal with them for many years to come.
John Traczyk: Mike and Pat are awesome. I was there yesterday for the first time ever. I just met them. I needed some coin flips. Great price for them. Mike answered all my questions about some Silver American Eagles I had purchased elsewhere. They looked a bit different but Mike assured me they were both Brilliant Uncirculated. Very informative. Pat even liked the one better. Pat was having a great day too, he was joking about how Mike sprung some really beautiful toned silver coins on him that he just had to have now! I think these two guys are great. They run a clean operation. Great shop on the 3rd floor of the Comerica building. Highly recommend. 5 stars for these guys. Keep up the good work gentleman.
Deje Steel: Seemed friendly on the phone. I was curious about certain coins my friend saved.
Lucy Vang: The worker was really rude and impolite. I do not recommend this place.
Gypsie Traveler's Log: I'd barely give this guy half a star extremely rude and I asked a simple question..do not go here...how this man has a business noones will know
Tay: SCAMMER. paid $100 over price (compared to multiple other coin places) and owner was incredibly rude. don’t go here
Thomas Stark: Rare Coins of Michigan is a hidden gem featuring an expansive inventory with very competitive pricing and quality stock. Often better pricing than large well known online venders. The phenomenal pricing is paired with very knowledgeable Numismatics ready to assist you in your quest.Perspective for sellers: Just because you see something similar or identical on eBay for $1000, that’s not an appraisal! e.g. I in fact have a rare card found on eBay ranging from $1200 to $3500…in 30 years I can’t get $5 bucks for the thing. Your stuff isn’t always the treasure you believe it to be. That said, this is also a business, a for profit business. If you want retail prices for your merchandise, with all due respect, get your own storefront. If you didn't notice, the lions share of poor reviews are would-be sellers that thinks their circulated wheat pennies are worth hundreds each and got bad news. The poor reviews are in no way reflective of this business or your shopping experience inside. Bottom line, VERY good pricing with quality merchandise and a healthy verity of it. Something for every collector and INVESTOR. If Rare Coins doesn’t wish to quote over the phone, that’s their prerogative! I strongly suggest knowing your current day pricing, go in to this location, inquire and I’m willing to bet you walk out a happy buyer. But if you want to stay away over phone calls and crazy people thinking their junk is treasure … all the more for me and my brother, Rare Coins of Michigan’s newest dedicated customers. Clearly, I highly recommend this hidden gem in Warren. It’s in the big white Comerica building. I enter the south facing doors (west facing doors face Van Dyke) go to the elevator, hit “3”, get out and walk just down the hall.

The Gold Cove: what do users think?
Chucky Gaming: Extremely nice people I was able to sell some of my coins I've collected for a really good price
Jeff Boldt: I am new to this hobby, in the process I have visited quite a few coin shops in the area. This one is my new home, the people are very friendly and patient. I don't feel like I am bothering them if I take more than 5 minutes to look at something. Nick and his son's are very passionate about this hobby and industry. I highly recommend dealing with The Gold Cove if you have any interest in coins, jewlery or bullion.
Tony Stebbins: Free appraisal, fair offers. I received an offer, was undecided. I asked if I could come back and receive the same offer. They said yes. I decided to come back and they kept their word. Easy 5 stars.
Augustus Przydatek: Good honest store with good pricing and service
Calvin: GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
Roshana Adams: I do not recommend this place. Not honest people at all. Lied to me about my coins value. Beware…..
Michael Stevens: This was my first time doing business with the Gold Cove and I was extremely pleased. The place is clean and bright and they have an great selection of gold and silver coins.Jeffrey was very fast and personable but also patient enough to take the time to explain what he was doing while testing gold and silver so I could understand and learn.I gotta say their buy rate for gold and silver is the best I've ever encountered, and there was no air of superiority that I've encountered at pawn shops and other jewelry stores. Two thumbs way up. I highly recommend.
Hïmíkõ-Tøgã: These guys are professional. Will give you a great prices when selling to them. They have a ton of great items at great prices
K Seaton: Fantastic visit. Very clean store. Friendly owner/family style experience.
Melanie Jones: Came here with my mom looking to sell some rings but decided not to part with them today. Had a great conversation with two of the people working and felt respected for the decision either way! If we do decide to sell, we'll be back :)
Kevin Schmieder: Had a great time at the Gold Cove today. Good conversation with the staff and picked up a handful of nice coins. They have a good selection of numismatic and bullion items. A solid coin shop!
Scott Towne: Visiting from out of town. Enjoyed the customer service and variety. Nice shop and would definitely recommend.
Demi Patterson: Nathan and his Crew are OUTSTANDINGMy husband has bought thousands of dollars in his store - Junk Silver, Morgan Dollars, Gold Eagles 1oz and 1/2oz, Gold Maple Leafs. He had me write the review because he doesn’t have a Google account. Keep up the Good Work
Aaron Raceles: They will take cheat you if you let them! They are not your friends. They took advantage of me, do research before you go if you are selling coins.Get a receipt!
Marvin M: Just bought a chain from these guys excellent service and price. I highly recommend gold cove and I’m looking forward to future business!! Thanks a lot
Michael Kehrig: Father and son duo when I was in there. Great insight, conversation, and honest pricing. Would highly recommend their business.
Mike Nicholls: Great place to sell your used gold silver and coins. Very friendly staff. Very knowledgeable.
A. L: IS the price negotiable?
Mike Vallone: Nice products rude employees
Sam Goldwater: Great place to shop, the employees always make me feel welcome witch seems to be a dieing thing in this world. Pricing has been more then reasonable on everything I’ve purchased. Generally cheaper then online and you get to see what your buying before hand. I would reconvene them to anyone.
Russell: Haven't actually bought/sold anything here yet, but the workers are very cordial and knowledgeable - both over the phone and in-person.

Coins & Stamps: what do users think?
yaeyae brody: Straight to the point. No bs. Fair prices.
Kervin Bryantl.p.: These guys are cool and very professional. Reasonable rates with no hassle. I can appreciate their willingness to provide education on what their selling. I would recommend this place for anyone.
cbutler: Just stopped in here for the first time. I inherited a small coin collection I wanted to sell. A man helped me who was super fast and efficient going through the collection. The prices they gave me were 100% in-line with what I saw being listed online as the average value. The whole transaction took about 15 minutes and I walked out with a wallet full of cash! Happy customer.
Dani N: Very nice shop and employees! Clean, secure and had what I needed. Definitely recommend this shop.
Paradigm Shift: If you are a serious buyer of metals please do not waste your time here, this company, when i asked what is your buy price for a box of sealed metal, they could not answer me, then i was put on hold then, they wanted to call me back. I am certain this place is not for the serious buyer of metals. I felt as if a scam was being conceived because i wanted to sell my metals and they were going to take advantage of me!!!!
Albert Bach: Good experience
Kevin Schmieder: I visited this shop today and had a great experience. I was looking for a variety of things and they were more than willing to let me look through everything they had in the store. Jamie was easy to work with and I bought several things from them. While I was in the shop, another gentleman came in to sell some 90% silver coins. The shop paid an incredibly fair amount for common 90% silver. More than what I would expect a shop to pay. I was very impressed how fair they were all around. Ill definitely be back.
ben keuten: I went a few days ago and the staff where extremely nice and helpful, I would recommend this store and will definitely be going back!
Michael Defayette: I had a very positive experience visiting the shop for my first time today. very competitively priced and lots in stock. The owner was happy to answer all of my questions. The building is also wheelchair accessible so that’s a plus.
Demara Walker: I don't think he cares about anything u have just the silver
Marty Brown: I was in there for literally 30 seconds. I went to get some old coins appraised and was completely dismissed before I could even explain what I was looking for. Do NOT go to this shop, they are neither friendly nor helpful. Horribly rude.
themard67: This is a local shop near my house. I have an extensive coin collection and stamp collection I inherited from my father. Thousands of coins, hundreds of stamps. I happen to have come across a very rare coin that I took to Coins and Stamps to begin a working relationship with them and my coins. I was very excited only to be met with one of the rudest and dismissive persons I’ve ever come across professionally. I tried to explain my situation and he dismissed me immediately saying my coin was too new. I tried tell them why this coin was rare and if he could help me with it and he wouldn’t even talk to me.My advice is to stay away from this place. By the way, they no longer deal with stamps either….
Jjtmm Jjmm: Very honest, friendly, and helpful.
Eric Gunderson: Service is personal and professional. Most importantly they are honest and extremely fair. They are willing to answer questions and spend time with their customers, and they are patient in letting you make a decision on your own time and terms. Helped me get my coin sent out to be graded at cost, without charging an extra fee, as a service to their customer. This is the kind of place that makes you feel really good to give them your business, because it really is a win-win for both parties. Thanks for everything you do!
A. Zacharias: EXCELLENT! No problem - just the facts and figures. I have used their services many times over five years, finding them friendly, competent and very honest. Price offered for a couple items 20%+ over competitors! They weighed certain coins, informing me of particulars and nuances as they occurred.Recently Jamie Johnson of Coin and Stamp noted a coin that I had highly undervalued and he informed me of it. This is the kind of honesty and integrity that informs me that this is an excellent business for your coin transactions. I highly recommend. Thank you!
Jason Topski: Very friendly and helpful. First time here and will definitely go back. Great selection and a very clean shop
Alex Jahn: Like others have said this is one of the best coin shops in SE Michigan. Small mom & pop operation. Owners are always there and very helpful/knowledgeable. Prices and premiums are the best ive seen for local and often they beat all the online dealers as well.
Matthew Philip: Good prices and good selection but their hours are terrible.I am very upset. I called and spoke to a lady to verify their hours and 4 p.m. closing time and they said yes, they would be open until 4 and I was there pulling up by 3:45 p.m. and walked to the door at 3:50 p.m. right after work and the lights were off, the security gate was down, and doors were locked already! All that the lady had to do is be honest with me and tell me that we are closing early today and I would not have gone out of my way to get special permission from my boss to leave work early to make it several minutes before 4.I just don’t know how anyone that works for a living is even able to patronize this business with the poor choice of business hours. I am really upset!
robert steele: My dog and I visited the coin store they were courteous took my going then you give me what I want it but they didn't know that I know about coin through but Barry delightful people I would do business with them again have a blessed day stay well Bob Steele
Paul Yakaitis: Lowball!
Jessica Maine: Friendly and excellent customer service. I love going there and is very easy to find
