Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center - BBAC: what do users think?
Douglas Mitchell: I love this place! They have so many great classes, I wish I could take them all! There's also a nice little gift shop in the front with wares from local artists.
Frank James English: As a past exhibiting artist, employee whom taught every age group at the BBAC and almost every class, workshop, camp and such over eight years or so, composed class descriptions and concepts, named gallery spaces, filled in as janitor, volunteered MANY times, was the person whom insisted the small lot of open land and sandy creek be saved and incorporated into the art center grounds.. much more, I will say I was taken advantage of and sucked dry, step stoned upon and more.. shame on this money maker and the culture of assimilation!!
Ann Pakenas: Nice place. Lots of kids for summer camp. Arrived there during lunch and the instructors were there interacting with the kids.
Bruce Agababian: An excellent gallery. Great classes. A cool place to go to on a weekday. The 40th Annual Michigan Fine Arts Competition is being shown in the gallery. And one of my paintings is there.
Margaret Topous: 🎨Certainly THE BEST art center in the area. Welcoming. Great classes. Some special classes for caregivers. Definitely generosity of spirit lives here.
Elliot Lewkow: Love this place! Gets your creative juices flowing
Emily Lewis: Great class selections, love the teachers, and enjoy the rotating exhibitions. Good community.
Duane Matlen: This is the region's premier non-academic fine art center. The instructors are top class hands-on artists and teachers. The instructors specialize in a variety of styles and media. Students come from as far away as Ann Arbor, Lansing, Toledo, and Rochester.
Andrea Foglietta: Check out their Holiday Shop, one of a kind gifts for the person who has everything. Free parking
Jennie Hickerson: Beautiful artworks
John Mishler: Excellent
Jane Gleason: Fabulous art center and classes
ANDREW agosta: Staff was following me around
Danyell Lanza: Art was great. However the staff was following me around everywhere. I will not be back for the pure fact that i cannot enjoy art while someone follows me literally over my shoulder.

Creative Arts Studio: what do users think?
Nicole Bosca: Thank you for an awesome experience for my nieces and I! The instructor was amazing. We were there for the younger ones 7th birthday, and when she would eventually go out of lines / mix colors, she would get frustrated and turn it into an abstract piece. Our instructor encouraged her and let her use two canvasses herself so my other neice and I could finish ours which I thought was generous. But as our instructor finished her teaching piece, she gave it to my neice to touch up so she could have a unicorn painting to bring home too. I expected the lesson to be instructional, but her ability to work so well with children was above and beyond. Thank you!!!
Marissa Morrison: Did a private lesson with Michael and he was an amazing instructor. Super informative and genuine! :)
Kayla Elizabeth: So this was one of the coolest pieces of art I've ever made. I did the Wheel Throwing and the person who taught me was very good at showing me what to do and was very helpful along the way. I noticed a birthday party in the room next to me with a bunch of children and the person teaching the kids was very nice sounding and sweet with them. These people definitely know what they are doing and are very nice. I 100% recommend! (I have pictures below of the bowl I made!)
Keith Mandell: Great time. In a great area
Ashley B: From what I heard they had the best selection of ceramics to pick from and paint and they did not lie! This is a cool little spot to really get creative and learn a new skill like pottery, glass fusing, or even canvas painting and ceramic paintings of course. Me and two friends went and learned how to make a bowl and got to paint it at the end. An experience I recommend it was such a relaxing and yet fun experience with our instructor Ben who was so nice as he guided us through the class. There is something for everyone even the little ones! In fact there was a table with kids painting ceramics when I first arrived! They have everything you need to create something unique and special. I look forward to visiting more often and with the kids.
Andrew Handal: Fun to do but poor results. We were told that they would cut off/modify the bottom of one bowl and they never did leaving it in a weird shape. For the other one that turned into more of a plate, it cracked a lot on the inner rim and wasn’t even filled by anything. Just a cracked, unusable plate now. Kind of feels like we got sold a broken product lol. If it’s finished and looks fine and then cracks when they’re responsible for it it feels kind of weird that it becomes our problem to deal with an unusable plate lol.
Savanna Vo: I had a great time with my friends. Our instructor, Ben, was very kind and did an amazing job demonstrating how to make the bowls. The customer service was also great. I would definitely recommend going, it was a very fun experience
Kylie Newman: This is one of my favorite places in the area for crafty things. I tend to go once a month at minimum. I find the staff are always very clear about pricing, length of time it takes for projects to be ready, and instructions for the project. They are significantly busier this year than they were at the same time last year. At this point in time I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekends.Comments for the studio:All the staff are amazing! Everyone is incredibly friendly and patient. When are you guys going to expand? 😝I want to keep showing off this gem!
Jessica “Jade” M: My husband and I did the wheel throwing class. It was surprisingly fun and relaxing. It was also reasonably priced. It took a few weeks to get the finished product but we love the bowls we made. This place offers a lot of other ways to be creative so check them out.
Keisha “Keisha” E: This place is awesome! Located in Royal Oak, Mi. If you’re looking for something different to do. This is perfect. Perfect for kids, a date, family outing, the elderly, date night or a solo trip. Painting is very therapeutic and can be a stress reliever. You pick your item to paint off one of the tables or shelves. Whatever price that’s on it that’s what you pay for. Item prices range from $13-$200. It’s also a studio fee. They have plenty of colors to choose from. They offer walk in projects wish include pottery painting, mosaics and glass fusing. They also have appointment only projects. Which include canvas painting, wheel throwing and wood board pallet painting. They also have a party room you can rent. Although they do take walk-ins. It’s small inside so it’s best to make reservations. You have to leave your item and pick it up in 2 weeks. Because it has to be set. They have Art Kits To Go that can be delivered or you can do Curbside Pickup. They are open Monday – Friday: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm. Saturday: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm and Sunday: 12:00 – 6:00 pm.
Mariam N: Great experience! 1 hour private wheel throwing session with BenWe can’t wait to see our final results!
Sita Sita: Excellent atmosphere and lots of options to explore your creativity
Grdgory Truskowski: Nice place, parking a challenge
Megan McKenna: Our party of 5 made reservations for the 1 hour wheel throwing class. We had a fantastic experience. Emma was our instructor and could not have been more patient with us! We were all new to this and had no idea what we were doing. She was able to guide us and help each one of us as needed. We laughed the entire time and had a blast. Emma deserves a million stars. We were each able to make wonderful pieces! We would love to come back and have her be our instructor for the 6 week class! We’ve been raving about our day since we left. We’re looking forward to our next experience with your studio.
Kelli Thomas: We had a lot of fun! Hardest part was picking out what we were going to paint! Definitely going again.
Conise Curry: Was one of my fav places until I went back to get my two pieces and they where no longer there! Like what did y’all do with it? I literally called 2 weeks ago to see if my pieces was still there I was told yea, drive there and Nothg, they didn’t even compensate me like whatttt.
Niles Larson: Fantastic staff and great experience!
Media One: First time here came out with the wife will definitely come back. Didn't take any pictures cuz I was too busy getting f***** up. Have a great night everyone
Joseph Michael Pellerito Jr.: This is one of the truly unique places in Metro Detroit where you can work with amazing professionals, such as Rachel, and create your own three dimensional art and family keepsake!
Mark Sobolewski: Took 3/6 of the intro wheel throwing. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with clay for the first time, but beyond learning to center and some tool basics, it really felt more like open studio time, and not like much of a directed class. I wish we would have had a little more consistency with who was leading the class, and planned projects. I had no idea what to make or how to make it. If we were all working on creating the same objects there would be more opportunity for everyone to learn. I felt a bit lost and stopped attending. Definitely think the class sizes should be smaller.
Chaslin Jenkins: They are always wonderful here. We have come here multiple times. Once for a birthday party, other times for pottery painting and footprints. Great family place. I love all their class offerings and would love to try a wheel throwing class.

Painting with a Twist: what do users think?
Cheryl Doerr: First time here! Very good experience. Would definitely do it again!
Amber J: Had an amazing time for my aunts birthday celebration. I love the way my painting turned out.I will be back soon!
Latonya Bradford: I had date night with my boo painting the king and queen crown and Mary was our instructor we had an awesome time. Thank you for making it a awesome night for us. Mary you're the best
Janice Szymanski: Had a great time as a first time painter. Fun night out with friends. The instructor was great! Cheerful, patient and very helpful. I'm no Rembrandt and my painting turned out nice with her help. If you're looking for a relaxing but fun time, give this a shot!
Patricia Mitchell: Our boat club had an event there today first time for all of us what great fun. Our instructor Mary was so easy to follow and helped all of us have the best time ever!! Do it and ask for Mary!! 👍
Christina McVeigh: Mary was a great instructor! She was very patient and helpful! We had a great night!
Sheri Dirkse: We had a great time! Mary is an amazingly patient host 😊
Rachel Palmer: We had a great time. Mary was very helpful when we made a mistake on the canvas she helped us make it look like it was never there. We will definitely be back!
Nicole Jackson: It was fun had a great time the instructor was great loved that she was so patient 😊 with us all and very helpful. We all are saying we will do this again .
Soiled It: Our instructor Mary was great. However, I didn't expect the place to be so tightly packed! We were fit in there like sardines, tables and chairs back to back, im talking shimmy to get through. The tables were so full im glad we didn't bring snacks, there was barely anywhere to set our drinks. It was also very hard to hear our instructor the entire time because they have two classes going at once with a room divider as the only separation, so that was hard. Overall fun, but could have been WAY better for the prices we paid. I would not return to this location again based on the lack of room alone unfortunately, I barely could reach for my drink or bag without bumping into someone else, behind or next to me. The kind staff was definitely the highlight of our visit.
markisha green: My daughter and I had a great time at the open studio! Danielle was AMAZING! She helped us get set up and was never too far away if we needed to ask a question or needed something. My daughter can’t wait to come back!! Thank you so much Danielle for the awesome birthday experience!!
Pamela Young: Mary was a lot of fun! Very helpful 🤩
Mariah Dickerson: Lizzie was amazing very fun and relaxing. Definitely coming back
Maurice Daniels: Definitely had a great time.
Tia Jackson: So the music was great and the instructor was a delight. However, the black canvas was not user friendly. The black kept bleeding through which made it difficult to get the color I desired. My other issue was, with it being such a large group the instructor should have had an assistant to assist on the floor. Also, it needs to be declared.
deVorah: My daughter and I had a Blast. Our instructor Mary was the absolute best and we'll certainly twist with you guys again. We felt like Divas, LOL!!!
Roni AKA Assassin: This is my hubby and I second time. We had so much fun painting.
Sheila puglia: We had the best time! Our instructor was fantastic! Really fun
Ayodele David Akinpelu: Had a great time here at this location, the proctor was awesome and the music playing was a good selection, i tried the process and tapped into my inner artisté and had a blast with my love as our pre Valentine’s Day activity since we both live art, you tell me who did better? Trick question art is always subjective
Regina Butler: Good laughs!! Nice time
Fakeyta Lewis: Dani was great very friendly customer service

Rainy Day Art & Framing Company: what do users think?
Lee G: This is my go-to art supply store. But it is much more than that. The people who work here have become friends. They are honest, kind, friendly, cheerful, and very, very knowledgeable. You see, they are artists, too. They can not only help you with tools, media, materials, and accessories, but they are also familiar with all of the joys, sorrows, quirks, and craziness that go along with being an artist. They are encouraging and supportive. If you can't find it there, chances are they'll know where it can be had. Talk to them about the nature of your artistic experiments. They may have valuable tips. I can't say enough nice things about this store.Oh, wait. Yes, I can! They are the masters at framing. It might seem a bit pricey, but they certainly know their stuff and will not disappoint.UPDATE: The have recently redone the look of the store and are thriving better than ever under the new ownership! Some new employees have come to join the staff you have come to know and love. If you don't know and love them, it means you must not have visited this lovely shop yet! Well? What are you waiting for? Go see for yourself!
Taylor Plotzke: Moved to the area about 3 years ago. Can’t believe I’ve been trekking to Michaels when Rainy Day was a mile down the road. Stopped in for some pottery supplies. I’m mostly a painter & they have all of my essentials! The store is super clean and organized. So happy I stopped by.
photoxliz videos: Friendly staff. Large selection of drawing supplies. I don’t draw, but i did find some cool pins and stickers. Very clean and organized art store.
Trevor Sutherland: The store is going in a very exciting direction with a new interior, new products, and they will be offering classes in a newly designed classroom. They handle supply special orders, offer a student discount and has an excellent framing side as well. Learn your craft, make something great, and have it framed all in one spot.Everyone here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and it's been a pleasure to frequent them for more than 20 years.
Janet Dalton: The most wonderful people work here. If you need an item framed, this is the only place to come!! If you are an artist... these employees soon become your family. Love them so much. Love their work.
Peter Carver: Great place to get art made by local artists.
Susan Conlan: I wrote a piece of prose for a close friend and had it matted and framed at Rainy Day. The service was excellent! They really took the time to assist me in choosing the perfect mat and frame. The finished product was beautiful and my friend even commented on the quality. If you want personal service and quality product, this is the place to go!
Tim Burke: My go to art store.I have gotten some smudges on a mat board, I had a recollection of 25 years ago when I was framing we had these dry cleaning pads that would help to clean up mat boards and I thought where the heck am I going to get one now, and sure enough rainy day hat I was blown away they have a lot of unique art materials as well as framing materials Etc.Lisa and Amy always go above and beyond to make for a great customer experience.
Jack Somers: I remember my school field trip here. I still have the painting in my room. It was very fun.
Will Schippert: Rainy Day is a great store. Kelly is always very helpful and full of good advice.
Jay Shimko: This is NOT your BIG BOX store! The employees are actually artists and know their stuff. The knowledge from the associates is priceless. A lot of hard to find items are stocked up in this store, plus if they Do NOT have it, they WILL order it for you. This is a great place to go for that emergency item you need, its a quick in and out! No long lines like the Big Box places. They also work with the local schools and will have the Art school supply lists, so you can get everything you need. If you catch Kelly in there, she is a awesome employee! Check out her art work that is hanging on the walls, she knows a ton.
Bruce Anderson: Awesome Art supply . Great framing and matting
Catherine Gillis: Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. They are also extremely careful about covid-19, keeping distances between customers
Aubrey Hosman: Great welcoming and great staff. Looked extremely professional and comfortable at the same time. Items were very well priced and even if you want to spend a little bif of extra money, there are nice supplies also for that. Overall fantastic business.
Leslie Gantner: Super welcoming staff. I was very pleased with the service that I received. I had an art print reframed and am very pleased with the end result😊
Rebecca Rhoton: I love shopping local businesses! They have a little bit of everything for such a small store. They had exactly what I needed when Michaels and Jo-Ann's didn't.
Tom Hornik: Went to get a gift certificate for a family member. Very nice store.
Roslyn Townsend: parking
Carlos Hooper: Great place to get supplies
Julie Torrens: Fantastic art supply store for the student to the seasoned professional. Large assortment of your favorite brands. Friendly and knowledgeable staff eager to serve. There was a very fun art market today. Even a comic artist! Classes starting for a variety of ages and skill levels. Wonderful experience!
Louis Lee: Awesomeness
