Embassy Suites by Hilton Detroit Troy Auburn Hills: what do users think?
Lana Lewis: Booked a room for a hockey tournament. Got to the Embassy Suites and they told us we canceled our room. We absolutely did not. They stated they didn’t have any rooms and were no help getting us accommodation elsewhere.
Jeff Spires: Shamim and Golam are the best. I love coming to Troy and staying at Embassy. I know the team values my loyalty and I value their service. Home away from home.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Gail Rouscher: Some areas are very run down. Most of the hotel is great. Clean, good selection for breakfast.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Anthony Franco: Fantastic hotel with suite style rooms featuring a living room, small kitchen area, bathroom, and bedroom (we had a king bed). The people who work here are very helpful and there are plenty of restaurants around the area, even within walking distance. We got to interact with the front desk personnel, maintenance personnel, the bartenders, and the chef during breakfast and didn't have one bad experience. The made to order omlette station was the best part about dining! Also they have spacious workout room that can hold a good amount of people at once. The pool was closed for maintenance while we were here but it looked decent as well. Overall I would recommend this place to stay to others!
Brenda Johnson: The Breakfast Is wonderful, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean.
Rick Duyck: Awsome visit,great breakfast. The BEST bartender around!!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Michael Caldwell: What a great place! Nothing I needed for 3 days went unnoticed. Breakfast was great ( and free), free drinks at night was unexpected and welcome.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value, High-tech …More
Megan Layfield: Excellent place to stay! Right off the highway, well lit parking lot for late arrivals. Every single staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly! From the front desk, to house keeping and breakfast crew. The made to order omlet station was delicious and the chef really took his time to attend to every persons request. One of the cleanest hotels I have ever been to.Room was perfect, everything looked practically new in the room. Couch and chairs were very comfortable to sit in and actually relax.
Josh Bigelow: We hosted a 3 day training event here and the whole experience was great. Our event coordinator Jordan was efficient, helpful, and great to work with. The rooms were nice, the event space was nice, and the food for our event was absolutely amazing. Overall 5 stars.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Primary Care Walk In Clinic: We booked Executive room at $270 per night for 4 nights and provided regular room worth $130 per night for 4 nights.Refused to even look in to the issue.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
layah banks: Everything was really good until I arrived at the bar that evening to order a drink and something to eat. The bartender had a bad attitude and also ignored me for atleast 15 minutes talking to other guest that already had food and drinks. When I asked about the complimentary drinks he replied with an attitude and told me it ended at 9pm then walked away not even hearing that I wanted to still place an order for food and drinks. Finally he came back after waiting 10 more minutes, I placed my order and asked if it can be sent to my room. Long story short my wings came a long time later in a to go box and cold from sitting down at the bar. I decided not to mention it I was tired and had been at my daughter's volleyball tournament all day 45 minutes away from the hotel. I checked my receipt the next day and low and behold the bartender tipped himself $7.00 I called and got the 7.00 back it wasn't the money it was the principle. Alot of noise from kids also above me and kids running around and playing on the elevators. However the front desk check-In and check-out crew was amazing 👏Food & drinks: Bartender has a bad attitude
Mechele Smith: Pool not open wasn't aware until I got there.Sent to hotel across parking lot to swim but they had their own guest which made it overcrowded their capacity was 42 max and it was way more . Too much noise in halls at nightRooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly …More
Brooke Scott: The staff was absolutely the best part about this stay. Rooms were well kept too.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Alan Greason: Wish I knew the pool was closed before paying for my stay and I promise my son I was taking him swimming and by him being autistic he remembered exactly them words so it wasn’t a good stay because repeatedly saying pool
Samir Maignan: Great spot to stay!
Laura J Crutchfield: The room was clean, really nice with a small living room space, a bathroom and a separate room to sleep in. We had a microwave, fridge, and coffee machine. In the morning you had a continental breakfast and that was delicious. You had a variety of: breakfast omelettes, scrambled eggs, pancakes, potatoes, bacon, sausage links, oatmeal, bagels, cereals, yogurts, varieties of drinks etc. it was just wonderful! ✨❤️The staff and hospitality was fantastic!
Tiffany L: Re-think your visit to this embassy suites location. Some of the staff are not used to diversity and were not very welcoming at all. Find another hotel!!!Rooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Anand: The rooms at this hotel are dated and requires renovation. The AC/heating system was excessively noisy, I had to turn it off throughout the night. The only positive aspect was the breakfast and the helpfulness of the front desk staff. Overall, my stay at this hotel was far from comfortable.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Alexis K: This hotel is fabulous and very comfortable. Recently renovated suites. Very friendly staff. They even have an omelette bar station for breakfast. Jeanie was very helpful in explaining the airport shuttle and another woman had breakfast ready a few mins early for my friends and I since we were going to miss it because of work. The reason I’m giving 4 start instead of 5 is because my check in process was a nightmare. I needed a feather free room as requested earlier in the week. When I got there it wasn’t done. So I had to wait 2.5 hours for them to change the comforter and pillow. I also had to keep going up to the front desk and ask when it was ready. Britney and Toiya were very nice and told me it was ready. As I finally go up there housekeeping told me it has not been touched and had me wait in someone else’s feathered room until it was. Communication between front desk and housekeeping is lacking for sure.
Robert Marchessault: Older Embassy Suites airport Hotel. Doesn't compare well with newer versions. Lobby is renovated and welcoming, but rooms are old and need improvement. For my stay in RM 112, the following issues need to be addressed. Terrible old mattress, most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Toilet wouldn't flush correctly (staff repaired it on request). Spigot in tub detached from tiles and exposed pipes. Rust and corrosion in bathroom. Air conditioning barely able to keep room cool. In somes ways the free 2 alcoholic beverage per evening give away tries to compensate for the failings. Breakfast is ok but uneven. Burger bar is nice.
Edward Hineline: Room is a bit dated but clean and comfy. They are remodeling. JoAnne at front desk was just so customer oriented and bubbly. Cristina at the Burger Bar friendly and helpful. We stayed overnight as we were flying out next day. Pricey? Yeah. Worth it? Yeah. Pool was open, food onsite, snack party or whatever they called it. I hear breakfast is good but we were due out early so missed it. Planes fly over hotel and you never here them. Quiet night's sleep
Muhmuh Monahan: This review is strictly for the Burger Bar inside this hotel. Amy is amazing- helpful and friendly. "The best burger ever," of my 5-year-old's life. She, "Wants to eat them every day!!!" REALLY good "emergency late night hotel supper because our delayed flight made us miss a connection" food. Thank you!Service: 5/5 …More
DB73: Decided to reserve a room here for my wife's birthday to get away from the kids and relax. After arriving we had a few minor discrepancies. We asked to speak to the floor manager who's name is Antonio. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was most pleasant. My wife was extremely happy, and comfortable. Thank you Antonio for keeping me out of the dog house.
Precious Larkin: The staff was friendly and helpful! The entire hotel was clean and accommodating to needs!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Leah Ramirez: Alicia at the reception bar is THE BOMB! She's kind , fast , funny and BEAUTIFUL!!! You will LOVE her! Also Caleb was a really kind and efficient employee!Safety: Keith is amazing!!! He made us feel safe and we loved talking with him! You won't sneak past him, so don't try!
Mike Vandermus: Beautiful lobby! Great people and service. Restaurant and bar right on site with plenty of tvs for sports. Pool area is indoor outdoor. Outdoor is closed in winter. Nice workout facility! Shuttle thaT is completely, and of course because it is an Embassy Suites, you have the happy hour with two beverages per guest! Rooms could use some updating but still good rooms and spacious. The Service, (for all you people in the back!) IS GREAAATTT! Thanks for an awesome stay!
James White: Couldn’t ask for better service, everyone on the team was extremely helpful, and kind. The rooms are outdated and in desperate need of renovations. The vents for ac are extremely dirty and push out dirt and debris into the air. This is evident by the horrible condition of the sheer curtains which were absolutely filthy.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

nicole tobey: Hotel was clean and smelled nice. Room was as expected. Nice pool area. Friendly staff.Nearby activities: Hotel was close to the venue. Close to Walmart, gas stations, lots of food and drink choices. Highly recommend middle eats across the street.Food & drinks: Great complimentary breakfast! Lots of choices. Lots of nearby restaurants.
Aya Younus: l Loved every thing at the hotel and my room, I appreciate Suzan. she was very kind and went above and beyond to provide excellent Hospitality & customer service.I was very happy and satisfied until last mints of my stay. However, at the time of check out. the agent who checked me out. was disrespectful and Have no idea about customer service and hospitality. I was very kind to him and told him good morning. he did not respond and no smile . rude. plus, I asked him, may I get bottle of water for my toddler for the road. he resound you are silver . that is only for Gold and diamond member. it is 2$.I understand it is hotel policy. I use to work front desk. and I know how things go. he could say it in another way with a smile. He say it in a way that he make me feel I am not welcomed in the hotel just because I am not gold or diamond member!he need to learn to smile and talk in a different way!it was just a bottle of water not a big deal. but he offend me.

Dee: great staff, clean rooms and updated...good breakfast
Nick Blackman: Stayed here due to power outage from the ice storm 2023.Friendly staff and clean well appointed rooms. Hotel was constructed fast to be sure. Some things like wallpapers coming off, restroom sink fixtures loose. Fridges, microwave, coffee in the rooms. Plenty of device connections and plugs. TV has xfinity cable. Local Bally sport, HBO and regular cable channels.Pool is small and there is no hot tub. Fitness room is stocked. They have one peleton, 2 ellipticals, 3 treadmills, free weights and cable weight machine.Breakfast is typical hotel fare. Each day different options. During our stay we had fried eggs, cheese omelettes, something like scrambled eggs. 2 waffle machines, one fresh fruit option, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, breads etc. Coffee is not bad. Couple of carnation creamers, and plenty of cream and sugar options. Decaf coffee was actually not bad. They have fresh cookies M-W.The Bed is very good. Noise from street can be heard. If your a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. Speedway convenience store has it all. Even has Beer and wine. I believe even some liquor.Plenty of nearby restaurants.Note shop around for best spice. It varies widely among the hotel reservation systems. You can save alot by checking different sites.
Kayy -.-: Stayed for 6 days and had a good time. Definitely will stay again!
Danelle Marsh: very nice!
Teri E: Beautiful Hotel, Super clean, Beautiful rooms with updated bathrooms. The breakfast was so delicious. I extremely enjoyed the little pre made Omelettes. Me and my family were very comfortable and cozy in our warm room. We will definitely be back. Thank you all for providing us with comfortable, our power went out at home, we needed a quick go to!
Melissa Hubbard: Was a very decent place to stay. No complaints.
Alicia Crumell: Great location. Many restaurants and stores around the hotel. It is directly next door to a speedway gas station. Staff was friendly. The room was nice. I love that they have hand soap and lotion in pumps already so you don’t have to use bar soap. They also have body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in pumps as well. I didn’t use those though. I will say the walls are thin. I could hear kids running up and down the hallway on the floor above me. I also could hear someone in the room above me FaceTiming someone (heard the FaceTime ring tone). I would definitely stay here again.
tdn nytro: So nice went there with my siblings and dad. It is so goodRooms: ComfortableSafety: Do you want to know what we were safeFood & drinks: It was yummy

Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Warren: what do users think?
Gary “GMFK” Kurtzhals: If your looking for a quiet place that puts you right in the heart of the Detroit Arsenal then this is your place! Breakfast is very lacking as a cup of coffee and a sandwich is just south of a $20. If a hearty breakfast is what your looking for then this place is not for you.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Althea Flanagan: If you are Military or a government worker do not book with any BONVOY Affiliated hotels! They act like they will accept your discount to get you to their properties but once there they have the option to ask if you are there on orders if not they will make you pay a regular rate! I had the worse experience with this at the courtyard warren Michigan !

Teeya Wells: The rooms were semi clean and the manager is super racist. She treat people of color and minorities bold. I had my 13 & 14 year old daughter with me. I left them at the room and ran to Walmart they ask housekeeping for towels because they got out the pool she told them to grab some of the cart & they was accused of harassing housekeeping and stealing things off the cart & the manager called the police on them because she called the room and assumed I was not there when my daughter answered the phone. We were evicted out of the hotel for no reason 30 mins later as well as they charged my debit card and credit card both $160 for incidentals as well as two different $30 payments they can’t explain. I will never go there again and wouldn’t recommend it if you have kids it isn’t kid friendly nor minority friendly.
Sarah Lynn: Update 3/8/23 stayed Feb 23-25 and booked and paid through Orbitz. They charged my card again for the room but gave me a receipt stating I owe $0. Still having a hard time getting my money back. NEVER again will I deal with this hotel!! Check in took a long time! Lobby is nice. Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from the rooms next to you! Every phone conversation, every tv show watched. Bad crowd here now. Lots of yelling and fighting.Wouldn’t come back.
Cindi Voss: Very nice, very clean hotel with awesome friendly staff! Very accommodating & helpful. Awesome beds and very comfortable loveseat w/footstool! Can't say enough good things about this Courtyard! Will definitely stay here again!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Nesbit Joan: Good hotel. Little old but good
Heather Durham: The rooms were clean, BUT MANAGEMENT on afternoon shift was a joke, let employee talk to customer anyway and even over spoke customer. Then when you address Assistant Manager LEAH she had NO EMPATHY and said we dont have to service you.... LIKE REALLY we have no power and your response for your employees conduct was we dont have to service you!!! Leah you should not have the title you have, you should never work in customer service ever! If this is what MARRIOT has for customer service I WILL NEVER COME BACK! SHE AND THE OTHER SUPERVISOR IS A JOKE! Oh dont make me go into the racial remark you said also!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED AND SADDENED. I called corp, and hopefully district manager will be calling! They all need to be placed in in a class for customer service. I paid a total of 1200 for 2 rooms for 3 days during the power outages!!! THIS PLACE HERE FOR MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE!!!
Lazetta Elliott: At the location I made a reservation on line for a few family members coming in town the weekend of February 4th , for my mother’s 80th birthday celebration I got a rate $98.00 using my Government Discount, well when my family got there to check in they was told I needed to bring my Id in which I know that I called and the attendant said as long as I bring it by the time they check out it would be okay so on Sunday morning around 8:00 am I go and presented my ID (I am currently an Government employee and have be for 27 years) to the front desk to the Manager on duty and I was told very ruldly that it was not going to be honored because I was not an active member of the arm forces, This my first time ever experiencing this at a Marriott and I always had my Government discount honored, I explained to her that I had never heard of this she said oh well very rude that is is the policy at that location now that ment it was a $70.00 difference for each room from what I told my family 😂 so this meant that I felt obligated to pay the $70.00 difference per room I was quoted a rate of $ 98.00 per room online quote so I had to pay $140.00 because I had two rooms, I asked her to help me with any other discount because I didn’t know that policy changes from Hotle to Hotle she said very rude there was no other discount or waverer , and she was not gonna honor the online rate the was the front desk manager on duty on February 5th, I will not be going back to that location or will I recommended any one else her customer service was unbelievable, rude nasty and just unconcerned 😂 She needs to be fired !!!

Rachel Tate: First off Rodney, who ever he is that is disappointed he didn't graduate from Quantico and is now high off his own ego to the point where he can not effectively and efficiently manage the most common of customer service complaints should not have a job. The hotel was full of birthday celebrations and children this weekend but after one noise compliant demanded that they come to lobby within 5 mins. He made no attempts to contact the adult on the reservation but had no issues demanding minors out of their room at 2 a.m.They were children running the halls, knocking on doors, etc but he isolated one room after one incident. He was hostile, condescending, and EXTREMELY rude. After I told him that would be in the room with them when he explained that was the only solution he continued to press the matter. Once I said I no longer felt comfortable and would be leaving he gave us 15 mins to leave or threaten to call the cops, on 1 woman and 6 teenage girls! He filed a report and refused to provide a copy I requested, and after snowballing the entire situation after antagonizing me without once attempting to deescalate or defuse the situation he hid in the back office when my partner arrived. He had NO issue being aggressive with me by myself but when another man entered the conversation he hid himself away like a coward. No alternatives were offered, hell there wasn't even a manager on duty. If he needed this to satisfy his power trip then I hope he got what he was looking for. I will be taking this as far up the corporate chain it can. I have photos and videos of the rooms so they can't claim anything was damaged or left in unsuitable conditionsI will never EVER spend money with this location again.
Doreen Oumedian: I cannot read the response from Embassy Suites for my review. Interesting.....Our family booked 4 rooms for the night. Two of the rooms were to be next door to each other. I booked on the Hilton app and selected my room number DAYS before. My daughter checked in before me and was given the room right next to mine. When I checked in and went to the room, there was someone in the room. I went bank to the front desk and they couldn’t understand why someone would be in the room that I BOOKED. They had to research and I told them I’d be in my daughters room. They called 10 minutes later and told me the SALES department (they were hosting a weekend craft show) GAVE the room I booked to one of the “crafters” because their room had an issue. They gave me another room on the 1st floor, not NEXT to my daughters room which I reserved. To get to NEW room ON THE SAME FLOOR, I had to take the elevator to the 2nd floor, walk around to the other elevator and take that one down to the 1st floor. I have multiple sclerosis and have issues walking that’s why I PICKED the ORIGINAL room. I was SO EXTREMELY disappointed with them cause they made sure the CRAFTERS were taken care of, but the hell with a HANDICAPPED person who reserved that room. They should of had them move since the room was supposed to be mine. BTW, check in time was 4pm, and I was there at 4;05pm. The front desk said they moved the other people in there earlier. SO BEYOND upset with this hotel!
anna morsey: So there is only one competent staff member who helped me through the booking disaster. I was double booked the dates were changed the hotel lost my reservation AFTER I paid in full had to wait a day to speak to a front desk agent who helped. Tyler you deserve a raise my guy. All other staff... It's time to clean house. My balcony door did not open it was completely off track the second I checked in I had to call maintenance. The pool just absolutely disgusting.... Green slimy fruit flies mold on the ceiling and walls. My room was not up to par especially for a Hilton ran hotel. Cigarette burn holes in furniture lose screws my boyfriend cut his hand I'm the shower reaching for the soap on a screw stains on the walls peeling wallpaper. This place is too big for them to manage. Do not waste your money here. While I was working on getting my reservation fixed a woman who had just checked in came down and said there was already a guest in her room they gave her keys for. Shame on management.
David Bailey: This is a very old and run down Embassy Suites! Hilton should pull their branding from this property. The rooms have very dated furniture and they smell like mildew. The front desk staff is not friendly and I would even go as far as saying they are rude. I will never stay at this property again! I am a Hilton Honors Diamond Member and I stay in Hilton properties nationwide and this property is an embarrassment. This should be a Motel 6.
Springpoet Jones: My son had a ball for his birthday.. he loved the poolRooms: Very clean and neatRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Libby M: Don’t stay here. Middle of nowhere, old, dirty, outdated rooms and decor. People running around in robes, slippers, bare feet, bathing suits all hours of the day and night.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 1/5 …More
JADESDED: I was skeptical and knew I was taking a gamble after reading countless reviews & booking for a night anyways, however it wasn't THAT bad.The BAD: Was that it (like any hotel with a pool on a weekend) had a large number of families with young children staying at the suites. As others have noted the atrium-style building means from my fifth-floor room I could hear muffled children being obnoxious (like kids tend to be) from the living space of my room (though couldn't hear in the bedroom) and there seemed to be a few bday parties/events going on which seems to be the norm at this hotel, as such kids being loud ended around 10-11pm (pool closing at 10pm seemed to be a big factor there too & admittedly we didn't use the pool so I can't speak to that experience.) It didn't bother me much but I could see someone paying for a premium/top-floor suite a bit bothered about that fact. The GOOD: Things in my room/lobby weren't nearly as broken as people made it out to be. YES, there is currently a few areas on ground floor being renovated but that's good because it shows the hotel is fixing things that reviewers in years past have criticized. The fountain in the lobby worked, Two out of the three elevators were operating, and everything in my room worked (except balcony door was a bit stuck but opened with force which was honestly a little worrying that it might break). Not THAT bad: All in all it's a pretty average stay, and if you've stayed at other embassy suites you know what to expect (with the corporate standards of room/lobby.) When I checked in staff was really sweet & let us know about free drinks & other amenities (there wasn't even a line I anticipated but we were like 20mins early to check-in for that reason), but when we checked out they were overwhelmed/slightly understaffed dealing with phonecalls, a convention setting up downstairs & general check-out duties, but I think that's where people get the "bad service" from it's really not that bad, they're just people too, and I'm assuming those who claim workers are "rude" are just uncompassionate "karens" who don't understand service industry & respect being a two-way street, but I digress.. all in all the workers were decently nice.Final Verdict: My main problem is for the top-floor/balcony asking price it's a bit expensive for some dated bathroom/furniture styling, but honestly that's superficial and can be overlooked. I would say however top-floor was worth it, because there seemed to be very few groups of people up there in an otherwise packed hotel. So 4/5 stars because of the price of an otherwise 'slightly-better-than-average' stay.Balcony was nice although sliding doors track was worn & a little stuck. Bathroom had a dated tub/fixed shower-head combo. King-bed/couch was comfy. Fridge/microwave/coffeemaker/the two tvs worked. Hotel is near Dave & Busters separated by 1 or 2 parking lots.
Paula Loving: receptionist were really rude. The Refrigerator was not working, The plumbing bathtub and sink was stopped up a couple of times. They allowed children to run all over the hotel play on elevators not considering other guest police were called. It was horrible. This hotel charge to much a night to have such horrible service. I really do deserve a refund. I have never experienced this type of nonsense with any hotel until this one.
Wilenda Bolden: The worst 5 star hotel I have ever been to.Noteworthy details: HORRIBLERooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Tiffany Holder: Go at your own risk. They do not let you know they are under construction and it's ugly inside. The front desk staff is AWFUL. Rude, insulting and lazy. I had to place a call to corporate because the general manager never bothered to follow up or call me back. I will not be going back to this location. Hilton should be embarrassed by this locations behavior.
