Choice Hospice: what do users think?
Pam Adkins: I would like you to know my journey with Choice Hospice. We joined forces, my brother and sisters and I. We were able to worry less and trust they had moms best interest at heart. Dr Y, the care team, nurses were fantastic, all the way to the office staff. Mom was a paitent for quite some time, then she started to declining quite rapidly, Choice hospice was there for her and anticipated her needs. Mom passed in December so it has taken me awhile to talk about it, the amount of stress lifted from our shoulders was endearing, we were able to be there as her children near the end and left the nursing to Choice. Moms transition was smooth. Choice Hospice, want you to know you made a scary situation more comfortable for all of us.
Barbara Klocko: Working with Choice Hospice was nothing short of amazing. The staff was so professional and paid attention to every little detail that meant a great deal both to the client as well as the family. Whether it was ordering a specific brand of product, adjusting meds and protocols along with ever-changing needs or being a knowledgeable source of information, the staff is the best…I especially appreciated that they listened to and supported our entire circle of caregivers in a compassionate way. Thank you 🕊️
David Klocko: Thanks choice,my mom is resting peacefully because of Mindy and associates.
Carrie L. Fowler: My mother was in hospice care with Choice Hospice. She passed in 2019. The care she received was exceptional. Therefore, I recommended Choice to my nieces. Finally, my husband was in hospice care with Choice Hospice. His care also was exceptional. Akeista was his home health aide who was compassionate and professional in her care. His nurse, Danielle was so knowledgeable, caring always available. The on call nurse, Diane, who also cared for my mother gave emergent care to my husband. She was patient, caring and proficient. I cannot give too much praise to nurse Danielle who was always available to me even when she was off duty. She also stayed with me through the transitioning stage. I am grateful to have received the services of Choice Hospice and I would definitely refer anyone else who needs such care.
Nichole Green: I've had the pleasure to meet a handful of Choice Hospice employees and have been impressed every time. Their focus is patient and family centric. They are gentle, kind, and understanding in all that they do. I work at a Memory Care Community and hear the families express their gratitude for Danielle Smith's care and Anna Knapp's warmth and explanation of hospice and how it has helped them and their family through this journey. I would recommend Choice Hospice over and over again.
Brenda Green: I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Choice Hospice for the excellent care given to my husband. Our nurse Daniele was amazing. She was always on time and immediately took care of anything my husband needed. Daniele called to offer her condolences and wanted to know if I needed anything. She is a caring professional!
Teri Jordan: I’ve had the opportunity to work with Anna Knapp with placing patients at our facilities. She is professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. It is our pleasure to work with choice hospice.
Heather Sherry (McKay): I have been a hospice social worker for 10 years and I have never worked for a more compassionate and caring company! The team works so well together to deliver the best care for patients and their families. Mindy, the Director of Nursing is knowledgable, professional and has such a good heart. The whole team goes above and beyond! With Choice Hospice, you don't get that "corporate" feeling...you feel supported, valued and respected. I highly recommend working for Choice Hospice!
Cayden Coffey: Great hospice, their staff genuinely care about the people on their service and unfortunately this is a rarity in this field! I would recommend Choice Hospice to anyone looking for genuine, caring and very responsive team
Danielle Smith: I have been employed with this company for a couple months now . I am really pleased with how caring our physicians and the Director of Nursing are . They are very informative and really love to educate about hospice care . I would definitely recommend working for this company . You are able to go beyond and above for your patients and be recognized. I am happy to be part of this team .
Cindie DeWolf: Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my loved one. I do not know where we would be without your supportive staff and wonderful care. Navigating this stage of life is difficult and your services make it a little easier.
Heather Wolverton: Best hospice company I have ever dealt with, the entire staff goes above and beyond to care for their patients.Every patient is heard they are not just another number, the level of service to not only patients but family members has been such a help while feeling lost in this journey. My moms case worker helped in the search of a new facility for my mom and spent her personal time finding the perfect fit.The nurses are extremely professional, my mom feels so at ease and taken care of. Any time I have had a question or concern regardless of the time of day it has always been addresses immediately. There are quite a few hospice choices out there but Choice hospice is truly different than the stigma, I feel incredibly blessed to have this team be part of this journey with my mom and I.
M B: I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone. They are clearly inexperienced and it shows every step of the way. The nurse who showed up to the house smelled like smoke, had purple hair, and spent 4 frazzled hours filling out our paperwork. She was 3 hours late to the first appointment to check on my mother, so we cancelled it.The supply company will show up pounding on your door over and over like the SWAT team, having absolutely no respect for the fact a dying patient is living in the home. The company will call you 6 times in a day even though they know you are caring for your dying mother. And random nurse supervisors will show up unannounced expecting to be let in when the nurse they are “supervising” isn’t even coming for another hour because she can’t show up on time. When we called with concerns we were assured they would respect our wishes not to be bothered with multiple calls a day, a nurse that could come when we needed, etc. Unfortunately the behavior never changed. After ONE week we revoked hospice.I feel like the staff is pretty much the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality and experience. My wife and I are both in healthcare and were quite shocked at just how poorly this company operates. Hospice companies should understand that families during this time deserve respect and not to be burdened with their companies failures to be efficient. It’s a time for family to spend time together, not to constantly be bothered and borderline harassed. Also, many of these reviews are from staff members, including the Mindy Eagloski reviews, which is pretty pathetic.
Felipe Chu: Excellent service from a highly attentive staff. They addressed our needs every time.
Falgun Patel: Wonderful compassionate staff all the way around .
Jason Kado: Choice’s Genuine Warm and Caring approach during our Grandfather’s shared time will never be forgotten. The entire staff was completely supportive and kept us informed throughout this difficult time and put our family at ease knowing he was being cared for by an attentive and knowledgeable Team. Thank You again for your love and care! -JK.

Henry Ford Hospice: what do users think?
Sarah Moore: My husband was diagnosed in early February with Esophageal cancer that had metastasized everywhere. After a lengthy stay in the hospital I was able to bring him home in the care of hospice. Henry Ford Hospice was amazing. They helped us through the process with knowledge, care and kindness. My husband passed 5 days after we brought him home and it was a very peaceful passing. I have nothing but great respect and admiration for Henry Ford Hospice.
Mystica Stevens: In mid-February my dear mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia. After talking with a few Hospice agencies, I decided to go with Henry Ford Hospice. Mom passed away on April 20, 2020. Yes, she passed away in the early days of the pandemic, but she DID NOT die from covid! In my mom's last hours of life, in the middle of the night, I reached out to HF Hospice, asking someone come to my home to help me with the final care of Mom--turning her, cleaning her, etc. I had NO ONE--family, friends--NO ONE to help me. I was exhausted, alone, and scared. I BEGGED and PLEADED with the "on-call" nurse to send someone out to help me. But because it wasn't during regular business hours, I was informed that they "did not do that". I was left alone to try and keep Mom comfortable. BY MYSELF. I always thought hospice was supposed to be available for help and support to the family. I had NEVER felt more alone in my life! I do not wish that feeling on anyone! After she passed, the "nurse" came out to pronounce her dead. She was set to put the cause of death as covid-related!! I was livid! She passed away from a canker sore in the roof of her mouth--the leukemia depleted her immune system; she wasn't able to fight the virus caused by the sore. But because Mom had a fever, the nurse automatically assumed it was covid. I informed her Mom was DYING! Of course she had a fever! They all do! The dying patient's body can no longer regulate temperature! The two bright spots were the bath aid that came over twice a week, and the hospice Chaplin, who was Catholic. Mom was a devout Catholic, and she looked forward to his visits, and receiving Communion.

Hospice of Michigan: what do users think?
Carol Levy: Wonderful organization and wonderful people! I was so thankful to have them help with my son at home.
Kathleen Henderson: From the initial phone call through the end, each staff member gave genuine care. My dad's nurse gave him the highest quality comfort, care and attention. More than I ever could've hoped for. They are there unconditionally for the patient and the family member at home that is caring for them.
Elizabeth Goralski: They helped us tremendously I was very satisfied with all what they have done for my husband and they acted immediately when I called them for whatever I need excellent staff.

Beaumont Hospice: what do users think?
Claudine Marie Nast: Grief Support Group is a wonderful place to discuss your thoughts after losing someone close to you that you loved. Thank You!
Laura Kujawski: Being newer to the company, I can’t say enough about how great the welcome and orientation was. Very detailed with everyone intentional about making sure I had what I needed to be successful
debra yoscovits: We have had Patty RN for my mother’s home hospice nurse for last 4 months & couldn’t be happier with her care and compassion. As a retired RN myself I am very picky.
Jacquita White Blount: I am the Regional Vice President of Beaumont Hospice and am closely aligned with the new Executive Director who is a compassionate, servant leader. The professional team we have assembled honorably serve families and offer the highest regard for the comfort, safety and quality of life of patients we serve. We have created a world-class hospice and are changing the world, one family at a time. Comments from a year or longer do not apply to the current organization that I represent.
Gar La: Years ago ,, They Hey bum rushed my dad into hospice, wouldn’t give him food or water, just drugs for comfort, because they said he only had only hours to live, I didn’t like that, I took him out of hospice, he lived for over two years after that!
Marina Villarreal: We currently have such a outstanding Medical team of PA ; C.O, Nurses, Patti , Tina & Paris, nurse aide Donna chaplain Paul and Social worker Diane our 93 year old Dad looks forward to their professional compassionate care, our Family is very pleased with Beaumont Hospice They are there for us and if we need anything it is usually available to us anywhere from one hour to 24 hours we are very grateful to have them care for our Dad. A Huge Thanks to All including the workers behind the scene that help place the orders etc 😇
Michael Morris: Although Hospice Care for my wife was short you could not ask for a more caring and professional team of nurses and social worker in the industry. They responded to every call and visit needed! On one occasion they sent a nurse for a visit without and appointment. Thank you for being Angels of care!!!
Suzanne Speth: If you need hospice care for a loved one, DO NOT USE BEAUMONT HOSPICE! After Beaumont hospital kicked my mom out and my brother and I had to scramble to find a nursing home who would take mom, Beaumont Hospice was only interested in us signing the paperwork. They said they would visit mom every day. Well, mom passed away just 16 hours after she got to the nursing home. Called Beaumont Hospice at least 6 times that morning (that's what we were told to do!) and its now 5 days later and we haven't heard a peep out of them! Not only do I not recommend Beaumont Hospice, I do not recommend Beaumont Hospital. Absolutely no compassion!
Christina Steenbergh: horrible company doesn't give patients that are at home meds family has to give them to patients and take forever to pick body up and sign off on it won't go into room alone has to have someone go with them to get the deceased
Marcie Cornell: This is the worst home health care organization I have ever had to deal with, and I have dealt with several over the years. They never "scheduled" a nurse for my mother who had a pic line and was suppose to see a nurse to change the dressing and draw blood once a week. I always had to call to initiate the visit and practically beg for a nurse to come. She never had the same nurse twice. One nurse didn't even know how to draw blood from the pic line. When calling the organization, you immediately get a recording and are placed on a hold with music for no less than 20 minutes. When the operator takes your call, they transfer you to the department you need where you are again listening to music on hold sometimes longer than 20 minutes. They always say they will call you back but rarely do. Today my mom's pic line is suppose to be removed and after several calls to them we still do not have a confirmation of when a nurse will be out. The doctor said yesterday, this should come out as soon as possible, but so far nothing.Unorganized, unprofessional, short staffed and their customer service is less than desirable! I would NEVER recommend them and certainly will never use them again.
Larry Bussell: They called me 2 to 3 times a day wanting us to sign documents. Finally signed and never heard from them again. My mom passed away and not 1 person showed. No follow-up the next day. Stay away from them.
Aminah S.: Beaumont Hospice team displayed no compassion or sense of urgency towards me or my loved one's needs. Their actions were only for those enduring immediate death and not for those who still had a fight for life. The nurses were not responsive, took hours and up to 2 days to respond to a call/text, did no follow up and not adequately equipped to care for the patient. All they wanted to tend to was someone who was on immediate death. When I needed medical assistance for my loved one, the response was always that is an end of life symptom and up the dose of narcotics when actually my loved one just needed an antibiotic. Very glad to no longer be under the care of Beaumont Hospice for those horrible 3 weeks as my loved one is doing much better having received the proper treatment from the hospital. Do you and your loved one a favor and seek a different hospice agency who will treat the person like a unique individual based on their current need.
rick soblo: Do NOT use Beaumont Hospice! On 2/12/21 we decided to put my dad on hospice. He was a patient at Beaumont Trenton (Southshore) for the last two weeks. Because he had been unconscious for two days and suffering from numerous medical conditions we decided to put him in hospice. We were put in contact with Beaumont Hospice who explained the process and then evaluated my dad to determine if he could remain at Beaumont Trenton through the hospice process. The Beaumont Hospice nurse who makes that decision determined that my dad was "stable" and could not remain at Beaumont Trenton and would have to be moved and transferred to a nursing home, etc.The regular hospital nurses were not in agreement with that decision and said that my dad should not be moved and was not "stable". We decided to wait a day before making our hospice decision. Just 18-hours later while still in Beaumont Hospital care my dad passed away so he wasn't as "stable" as the Hospice Nurse indicated.Learned later it's all about the money and not caring about your loved one. By them deciding to try and have him moved out of the hospital they would not incur additional expense associated with the hospice. If your thinking about hospice for a loved one please look into other hospice organizations that really do a good job and care about your loved one. There's a lot out there that can do a real evaluation of your loved one in an effort to determine appropriate care and not based on the hospital saving money. It's sad that a hospice organization who should be helping you deal with your loved ones last days is only concerned about what its going to cost the hospital.
Paul Poronto: I see some negative experiences posted here. We were very satisfied with Beaumont Hospice. My Dad's nurse Karen was awesome. Smart, very experienced and extremely caring. My Dad loved her. His aid Tanya was also incredible, always had a smile and after she was done caring for him, she would always take a minute to sit and chat with him. He loved her also. Melissa the social worker made sure to call me on a routine basis to see if I needed anything. When my father needed to be moved to a Nursing Care Center after becoming Bedridden, Melissa and Tyne did everything for me. Made all the arrangements. It was so nice. Sherrie was his Nurse at Shelby Nursing Center when he passed away. Very nice and compassionate. I would recommend this company to anyone. Dad was in hospice for 2 years and we couldn't have been more happy. He died very comfortable and peaceful.
Shae Warren: My father was in hospice with Beaumont for a few months. They were outstanding. Our nurse, Andrea, became like a sister to my sister and me. Our social worker, Carrie, was genuinely invested in helping our family with this very difficult period of our lives. I cannot speak highly enough of them as individuals and the care we received from Beaumont.
Former Employee: Horrible place to work. I quit out of embarrassment as did dozens and dozens of coworkers.Staff do not care, do not show up for visits.Families have endless complaints.
kim christner: No good they say one thing and do another and yes no calls but takes over 15 minutes to even get someone to ask you 50 question to even get the message to someone you need and then over 4 hours for a nurse to call back or you have to call again help or not not doing there job right .. they should call u back or even call u and you do most of the work for them to get paid no way... people please read the book they leave you real good the first nurse stayed for over an hour the others no way to even get paid for an hour no way the caregiver needs to be paid more then these people for sure cause they have you do the work for sure ...had to change hospice no joke ...
Denise Nadeau: The staff that came out to the house were wonderful. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say. The last hours of my mom's life she started having small seizures. I called and nobody called back. I called again...the same thing. I called again...the same thing. When she passed I called again... same thing. I have a friend that i grew up with who is a nurse for Beaumont Main so I contacted her. I told her that nobody is calling me and gave her the phone number. She got someone to call me. They gave the nurse who came out the wrong address. She was so sweet and stayed with us until the funeral home came to pick my mom up. That was 7 months ago but it still seems like yesterday. I have never felt so alone. Like I said, the staff that came to the house was wonderful but the stress that I went through wasn't worth it. Please don't use this facility. The triage people don't care and I would hate to have someone go through what I did.
Loretta Werner: Triage is cold and unfeeling. They do not have enough help!! There is no reason nurses should have to come from an hour and a half away during end of life.
Theresa: No response from nurses, unorganized, do not care about patient comfort. We fired them and hired Hospice of Michigan, who were beyond helpful and comforting.
Jennifer Powell: Nothing but a positive experience with the bereavement counseling program. My counselor Sarah is caring and compassionate and has helped me through this difficult journey of grief. I am forever grateful and recommend the free bereavement program they offer through Beaumont hospice for the families of Beaumont patients that have passed and who needs help to get through and come out with a positive outlook. Thank you Beaumont for your dedication to go above and beyond the care you showed for my mom the two months she was there.

Compassus: what do users think?
Donna R: They are unable to follow through with their job.
Suzan Olin: I can't say enough to express my gratitude to the fine team who cared for my mom. They went out of their way to ensure Mom's comfort, and to help me when the stress was overwhelming. Mom was only in their care for a short time, but the staff worked hard to make her passing comfortable. We had Compassus for my father also, and as with Mom, the team was extraordinary. Thank you Compassus for making my parents end of life a peaceful one.
Kristy Burton: I work for Compassus and would highly recommend this organization to my friends and family for excellant end of life care, comfort and compassion for the entire family.
Carole Stross: Research your Hospice companies just as you would anything that you value in life! Ask friends, neighbors, co-workers before signing up with this one!!! I didn't want to give one star but it defaulted!
