Everything seemed fine up to that point, maybe it was an off day or something. I don't know if roofs are their forte.

AO Kylie Belachaikovsky: This company discriminates against homeowners who have purchased from the Land Bank. They were nice as can be setting up a free inspection, but when they did some digging the day before, and realized it was a land bank house, they would only come out if I paid $150. The gentleman on the phone tried to make it sound acceptable, because “they waste so much time going out and giving quotes to land bank owners who don’t follow up with the services because it’s too expensive for them”.Just another company redlining and profiling people who they assume are poor. Very disappointing to have taken time off work, only to be profiled as “too poor” the day before the inspection.

Geoff McClelland: Experiencing a basement flooded can be a nightmare of a situation, but fortunately the team at Michigan Basements has an incredible team that can put your mind at ease in spite of the situation.From the first call on a Monday morning, Joyce, who runs the office, was delightful and helpful in assuring that someone would be out as soon as possible to take a look and give us a proposal. There was a lot of rain in the days leading up to our issue, but she was able to send someone the next day. One of the other biggest names in Michigan waterproofing/foundation work was so busy from the rains that they weren't able to send someone out for about a week. Additionally Joyce was also great throughout the process with communicating when inspection could and would occur, and when the crews would arrive to do the work.Kevin showed up on Tuesday afternoon, we were still bailing out water and didn't have much of the walls exposed, but we had a decent idea what was happening. Kevin did a great job of walking through what to expect with the project and the proposed solution. The proposal they submitted was completely fair and he helped get us set up with Greensky as we recently sunk a large amount of money into our growing cabinetry business (oops) and didn't have cash on hand to take care of this. The financing was also very fair terms for a situation that needed to be handled ASAP.There was a little hold up with the city (this is totally normal with everything we've done in Royal Oak). The production manager Matt knew we had water still coming in and I was bailing out the water twice a day, so he was able to get the job started about a week later on a Wednesday which was great considering the bit of bureaucratic hold up.Between that time we had demoed our basement with my crew. When the crew leader Matt showed up, he took a look at the basement and recommended from his experience that we add some additional drainage to the project. I greatly appreciated his advice as I wanted to make sure that our finished basement didn't have any issues moving forward. It was the first time they were able to assess the entire picture, so it was a very fair increase in the cost to add some peace of mind that we wouldn't have water in the basement again. They got me a change order and we signed it electronically and there wasn't a delay and they even gave us a little discount for the additional work since they were already on site.There were 3 crews in total on site, and each of the team members were polite and respectful of our home, which is important when you have children and pets. We got out of the house and out of the teams way each day so I didn't catch all of their names as I just showed them in, in passing.Overall, from first call to final green sticker, the process took 2 and a half weeks, and now we can start to put our basement back together! Everyone we dealt with at MI Basements was top notch and professional, and I'm grateful we were able to work with them to get the water out of our house. Deborah Spoutz: Great experience with the team, they encapsulated my 30" tall crawlspace in April 2023 here in Grosse Pointe MI. Matt H arrived to inspect (yes, crawl inside) my crawlspace. Later that day he provided an estimate which described their process. Matt listened to, and included some requests of mine. This included white surfaces visible and vapor barrier all the way up my short walls. The quote was competitive with the two others I received including the Big company we have all seen on our TV.Rich and Michael led my actual project, they both understood what Matt and I had agreed to. Generally this is where other companies fail. The 'builder' had loose black plastic over the foundation dirt and had left lots of building debris inside my crawlspace. Rich and Michael (as well as a couple others) cleaned it up and even jack hammered a couple concrete spots. This was in the area that I was prepping for potential dehumidifier.When Rich and Michael arrived they placed their heavy plastic on my hardwood floors and also the traffic area up my carpeted basement steps and floor. I had a service tech out name Justin that was very arrogant. I contacted their office and asked for the service manager or someone in the management level to contact me. I've been waiting two days now and still have not heard from them.

Site Foreman Dustin M. was incredibly patient and answered all my questions. As he was lifting my home, which was very stressful, he talked me through the whole process and was able to show me immediately with the laser level how my home was lifting. I had brand new windows that would not open and close and within minutes all of my windows worked again. And when they wrapped my foundation in basement they never said the wiring from outlets and lighting would be hanging all over the place. Very messy my phone has static now.
