International Academy Of Macomb: what do users think?
Rachelle Biundo: I love the IAM. I think that it is a great school with amazing teachers and a welcoming community.
secondcoming of jesus: pretty cool
Lisa Rasmussen: My daughter loves it so far. No complaints from me.
Charles Lee: Wish I could put zero stars but if you want your child to go to and ivy legue school just make them take all AP classes learned to hard way now I’m trying to get the credit.
Just A Random Conservative Cookie: This school is unique but again it’s in Michigan.
Keith Heydel: lol this school is irrelevant compared to International Academies Central and East (Bloomfield Hills and Troy)
Tasnur Ahmed: WOW, somebody went off in the reviews LRJOHXYBMGFAQEN
Arn Basabe: Like special ops in the military you do your part to be part of the few and the proud. It's not for everybody that's for certain.
Caitlin Tremucha: TL;DR I’m a junior (technically a senior now) and I think the IAM is a great school because of the curriculum’s rigor and environment! Also, please, take other reviews with a grain of salt since strong emotions can stretch the truth!I should probably be doing my TOK homework, but regardless of my homework status, I have been looking through some of these reviews and I have to admit that some of these are in fact way too critical. I’m not going to be salty or anything like that, but I think it’s important to view the IAM through a balanced lens. I’m currently a junior and my experience at the IAM so far has been generally positive. Due to the small size of each grade, students are able to build strong relationships with one another as well as with faculty and staff. And yes, it’s true that many teachers come and go but mainly due to larger, better opportunities; however, the most significant aspect that one should understand is that even today, these teachers are not paid enough through their own districts to support their own families, like many other teachers throughout the nation: they are people and have their own needs, too. Even so, that does not undermine their teaching as they contour their interactive lessons to the IB MYP and DP curriculum. Stating that the teachers don't know what they are doing is meaningless if you don’t have the evidence. If that was the case, why are our IB exam scores so high and why, in the nation, are we one of the top schools? (Also colleges do recognize IB despite it being fairly new to the states!) The IAM does a great job with balancing the rigor for all of your classes; not only does the school focus on improving your math and science capabilities but also with your critical-thinking and analytical skills in classes including literature and history. In terms of communication, in my opinion, I feel pretty comfortable talking to my teachers if I need any help. Additionally, I have heard that going to a regular school, you may have more opportunities in extracurriculars, but the one problem is that the student body is small and there are only so many courses they can provide. However, I have a strong background in art and I have no problem with taking the art classes they have as well as balancing them with the science classes I love. If you want more access to other courses, you always have the option to go to another school. (Btw we literally have one type of literature class for each grade since IB requires it.) In all honesty, if you’re interested in bashing the IAM due to some negative experiences that you had, I have no problem with you posting a review, but at least make reference to the counter and don’t exaggerate rumors until you understand the real facts behind things that happen within this school. Essentially, despite the great work load and sleep deprivation (that mainly comes from one’s own poor self-management), if you want to go here and have the drive to do so and take risks, I promise you that the IAM will prepare you for your future and allow you to make lifelong friendships with others. Now, I think that is the true IAM experience.
George Larsen: The fact that the remaining teachers are flooding out of the school like a Louisiana hurricane says something about the state of the IAM. The faculty don't know what they're doing or how to manage a school properly, the teachers that DIDN'T jump ship are in disarray (I hear reports that the science teachers will be teaching math? Really?), the rules are harsh, and the curriculum is extremely unhelpful. Like, there are no business or computer or medical or even woodshop classes, but they have multiple levels of literature? This is not even counting the lack of meaningful extracurriculars or the foul attitudes of some of the teachers. An IB education is great - if your college actually ACCEPTS IB credits - but please, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
Joseph Maples: Eric Sturm is unfit to be principal. He only cares about being the best, not about the students or teachers. 15 teachers have quit in the past 4 years. If it is really a good school, why do they have a higher turnover rate than a McDonald's? Sure, it's a decent education, but that's because the IBO is a knowledgeable organization, not anything specific to this school. Go somewhere that appreciates your intelligence and worth, like IA Bloomfield or IA Troy, where students actually get represented for extracurricular interests and activities and not shuned from any positive recognition like at the IAM.
Greg master: 10/10 I.G.N. Just manage your time wisely and you wont get an overload of homework. So far so good at the I.A.M.
Caleb Wagner: They didn't let me in, so I skipped a grade.
Steve Brown: Great school!
Kd4: Greatest School Ever
Ibn Al-Amin: By the far one of the best school. Both staff and students are good and hardworking people. Proud to go to the IA

Khalid Kaid: I graduated from Star International Academy back in 2015. This school is honestly amazing, the faculty is so caring and invested in the students. Mr. Abdallah, thank you for all you have done for us as students, you never jumped to any conclusions about any issues that came to your attention. Mr. Abdallah was the dean when I was in high school, but has rightfully worked his way up and EARNED the principal position. He was the most understanding person I’ve met throughout my entire educational journey, he never judged any students or showed any favoritism which is what every student not only needs but deserves. Mr. Abdallah, thank you for not only being a good dean/principal, but thank you for being a good friend to every student and staff member.BROTHER BATEL! I shaved my head because “bald is beautiful.” But all jokes aside, I’d like to extend a big thank you to Mr. Batel for constantly pushing every student to excel in everything they did. I had the honor of being taught by Mr. Batel twice while I was attending Star International Academy. I can confidently say that there is no teacher more passionate than Mr. Batel, his teaching strategies are always evolving and advancing, and the care he shows for the students is unlike any other I’ve seen from any teacher. He is truly an inspiration for students, I still carry what he has taught us until this day. Thank you Brother Batel! Now this portion of the review is to any parent thinking about having their child/children attend Star International Academy. As a former student, who has been there through every situation and witnessed it all, I strongly urge you to move forward with the process of enrollment. Your child will be safe and around a faculty that actually cares about your child’s well being as if they were family.
H Family: Clean buildings, professional staff, healthy meals, encouraging and welcoming environemnt is what Star is about. A school of diversity, where everybody is respected and accepted. Incidents happen everywhere, but at least at Star it is taken care of immediately. My kids love it and look up to graduating from Star with scholarships. Star is the place where my kids belong and where i can rest assured they are safe and welcomed. Strong curriculum and hard working teachers. Chapeau bas to all of you!!!
Hiba Haidar: One of the safest schools in the state. My kids attend Star since PK, and would never want to switch to a different school. Very humble principal, down to earth, treat all students as his own kids. Watch out for them and always willing to listen to their concerns. Office staff very nice and always willing to assist. Teachers go above and beyond anything to help the students, they are all over Dojo, remind, Google classrooms, very easy to reach out to them. Paraprofessional available to assist our students in their classrooms. Star offers its parents and students anything needed to succeed.
Sue Elhaouli: Where should I start off, I have three kids that graduated from Star international Academy in Dearborn Heights, and one that’s still there, this is one of the best schools, I had the chance to put my kids in other schools, but at first I had chose this school because of the uniforms, it doesn’t take us hours to get dressed in the morning lol they have the uniform and they are good to go, I’m reading the reviews and I can’t believe those bad reviews specially about the principal Mr Abdallah, if anybody know Mr Abdallah that will be me, three of my kids graduated from there and one still there like I mentioned before, he was Dean , then he became a principal, he knows every kid by their names he know the parents, he is very professional, He communicates with the parents and the students, honestly if there’s a problem with my child I would definitely get a phone call from Mr. Abdallah and for that I really appreciate him, And the teachers are very helpful, and there’s a lot of scholarship opportunity in the school, but the kids have to work for it, and for the people that wrote a bad reviews please put your real name up there if what you’re saying is true.
ronia alfasih: By far such an amazing school! i’m so happy i graduated from there. During my highschool time Mr. Abdullah was the school dean, he was amazing. i’m so beyond happy he’s the principle of the school now. My younger brother attends this school, and any concerns he has The teachers, the dean, and The principle always makes sure he’s leaving school satisfied! Mr.Abdullah thank you so much for putting all your students first and being an amazing principle!
Mai Natsheh: Great school and very cooperative staff. Teachers stay connected to us parents and help us make sure our kids are on track.
Ghazi Natsheh: I’ve been here since Kindergarten and graduated from here. Loved this school, the teachers, the environment, and the neighborhood. Great school for anyones children.
Hamdy Omar: We love the school. My son has been going to SIA school for few years now and it was nothing but a great experience. Mr. Abdullah is really nice and great with the kids. Very involved and very helpful and great communicator. I met him on day one when my kid was enrolled there and have been the best help since. Teachers are great. I am always informed and always receive feedback. They listen and understand our point of view. Everyone we have worked with at this school have been great, professional and very helpful. I am really grateful.
Nada: My three kids have been at Star International since Kindergarten! One graduated last year and off he went to UFM Ann Arbor. His class alone had sent six students there. My other two are still there a Senior and Freshman in High school. The staff and administrators work hard to ensure that kids get the support they need. Mr Abdullah guide these kids and earn their respect. As Dean he was loved and my son as a Senior feels that they are given all the support they need. The last two years been tough, other friends of mine who didn’t have their kids at Star had struggled while, personally , didn’t see this struggle with my kids and their friends! Yes, the load is high but to ensure the kids are caught up with a year is lot of knowledge. This year was also a struggle with students who are new to the building and the rules of Star; and others coming from being home caused many challenges. However, the staff and Mr Abdallah have been working tirelessly to ensure our kids are on track and safe. Star is not for everyone! It holds kids to high standards and require commitment from student and parents and at times it may be tough! However, I have seen it work for my kids and other kids! My oldest who graduated was accepted with scholarships to EVERY school he applied to! My Senior this year have been preparing since the summer for his applications, community service and SATs, all due to the guidance of his counselor, teachers and Mr Abdallah! Thank you Star International Family for everything you do!

Dani: It's a nice looking building, but honestly it's so ghetto and the kids are horrible! People think just because Eminem went to school in Lincoln that it's a good school, but you forget that he was bullied and dropped out.
Won't Marry You, I'll BURY YOU: in the 1980's a kid named Marshall went there and was bullied by a fat kid named D'Angelo Bailey
Bryce Widener (mustanglover25): Eminem! Eminem! Eminem! He went here!

International Academy Okma: what do users think?
Bigbluetrex __: EXTENDED ESSAY NO MAKE IT STOP OH GOD PLEASE HAVE MERCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Devin wisdom: This school is terrible when ever I’m there I’m scared for my life every one is socially awkward
Medhat Basha: Very good school, very nice staff
Daniel: cool school
sour oats: This school is so poorly run and while they pretend to be inclusive of all people that is just a straight up lie, also the program has nothing available but academics, never any classes that are actually something you want to do or are interested in
Maui Baba: A great school, with great teachers and a difficult curriculum. Has a small campus, but the grades (student count) are pretty small too. Awesome school for you/your child if you are looking for an academics-centered school.
Jonah Liss: The IA has provided me with the best high school experience I could have possibly asked for. I have made some of the best friendships and bonds with teachers, study habits, and experiences that I will never forget. There is no denying that the curriculum is extremely rigorous, but it is well worth the effort in the long run for preparation and development outside of high school. Furthermore, the IA is an extremely diverse community and I personally see lots of benefits from attending a school that pulls from 10 districts. The extracurricular opportunities, teachers, curriculum, and overall environment are superb; I would highly recommend applying to this school.
Talha Ghazi: Went here in high school . Great teachers some were comparable or even more passionate and inspiring than my professors at um Ann Arbor . Special shoutout to history teachers Mr. Uhelski and Mr. Deezwaan. Not for the faint of heart.
Markus Muller: Very friendly staff and teachers. My daughter lerns a lote here and she really likes it, even though it is sometimes a lot to learn.
Nara Moein: I want to cry whenever I'm in the IA oh god help me get out of this tortures school
Billie Ragland: The baseball field is great!
haru glory: I dont this school is good for any student i think this school is not following the district rule. Its impossible for anyone graduated when they are 16 years no other college will accept them only OCC can people gotta be 18 years old and then people can go to college or any university college they want. Everyone of my friends agreed with me this school is being ridiculous and having a 16 years old kid graduated they wont make it through college or be able to attend any college except for OCC cuz all college and university required to be 18 and have a high school diploma and not even skip a grade to attend high school and i highly in my opinion that this school should be shut down like the other school
Wehbe Alzohaili: Best school in michigan. Dont be fooled by bigger schools like bhhs. IA has the best education in the state
Andrea Lashay: Best school ever.
C L Johnston: Miss D and her staff are very professional. It is clear to see they care a great deal for the children in their care. I am impressed every time I visit to recertify their staff with their CPR and first aid training... A super great bunch!
Zayan Khan: Currently a junior at International Academy East campus, the syllabus is extremely difficult to get through, but it helps prepare you for college and gives you a new view on diverse people from different countries and religions. If anyone has the perfect opportunity to attend, I would HIGHLY recommend it.
Stephen Lee: I did my best :)
D Bruin: Although my daughter is a sophomore at the IA, our experience has been nothing short of amazing. The IA model is designed as the "ideal" for high school education. This school is located in Bloomfield Hills, MI. You would think that the location and status (3rd in the nation and 1st in the state for academic achievement), would lend itself to a state-of-the art facility with the most modern equipment. This is NOT the case. One trip through the heaved parking lot would quell that theory. The structure is old and out of date, but the heart of the teachers and administration is as well defined as an Olympic Athlete. The core of this program is truly the hidden gem. The program is rigorous, and is not for the faint of heart . If, however, you have a serious-minded child who absorbs knowledge like a sponge and can handle a heavy homework load, then the IA may be the right choice for you. Add the fact that the school is incredibly inter-cultural/racial, and you have a great combination for a global learning environment for any advanced learner. This is by far one of Oakland Counties best-kept secrets.
Jarred Smith: ok
