Michael Sullivan: Wonderful museum and the layout I found was perfect. They do like a beginning of life all the way to foundation of blacks in Detroit. It's so much to look at and read when you are walking threw, that it can take you up to 2hrs to finish if you take the time to soak in all the information each display offers. I would give a perfect 5 but at the time I want, it was almost 80 degrees outside, and they didn't have the AC on. So it was kind of uncomfortable. But that's just me nitpicking.
Jeanne Martens: Very well done, there's so much to learn and see.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $11–15 …More

Fabiola Xhamxhi: I went to the Charles H. Wright Museum with my community health class. This museum and our tour guy Sammy, did a great job teaching and refreshing the African history. This was a great opportunity to shine light on how hard African/African Americans worked to end segregation, gain equality, and be free. The museum itself was beautiful. And again, our tour guy was amazing!
Paloma: Please check this museum out of you're visiting Detroit and need something to do. You will learn so much about the history of African Americans and the culture that was taken away and reborn. I had the option of going to the Institute of Arts, but I'm so glad I chose this museum instead.

Victoria Bogoevski (Essentially an Empath): Absolutely LOVED our time here. We went once during the week and once on the weekend so my husband and their grandparents could see the exhibit as well.As a SAHM I would rather take the boys during the week as it was far less crowded and seemed easier to navigate as it wasn't so crowded.I do wish that the planetarium was offered on other days as well, rather than just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, as those seem to be busier days.Having smaller kids I love that the building is smaller than most other museums so I feel more confident when I go by myself with the kids.Parking is a two level structure, so some shaded and some not. The parking is a bit of a walk from the front doors, but being greeted by a stegosaurus replica is so much fun for the kids.I took my two young boys ages 4.5 and 2.5, during the touring exhibit of SUE the TREX, twice! They absolutely fell in love with seeing all of the larger exhibits there are.I was worried the boys would be too young for the science aspect of the museum and only be interested in seeing the trex cast, wooly mammoth cast, and other animals that are preserved. They did enjoy seeing all of the animals, and most of the other exhibits. The one my kids were nervous about was the exhibit showing how humans survived as that area is not as lit up as the rest of the museum. The Cafe was a perfect place to stop and grab a bite because I had underestimated how long we would truly stay there. Spoiler, we stayed for 4 hours. As an adult who loves learning and enjoys museums it also was fascinating to walk through and learn things I had forgotten from childhood.Needless to say we ended up purchasing the family membership to return frequently. My boys constantly ask to return and we will be doing so minimum monthly.
Kisha Emanuel: The kiddos had fun

Maria Livieratos: The Cranbrook Institute of Science was totally Amazing. I took my 3 & 6 year old Grand kids, and they Loved it!! They didn't want to leave. The Sue T-Rex exhibit was very educational with hands on exhibits touching Dinosaur bones, and the kids got to touch & feel. The movies were very good and not scary. There were lots of Dinosaurs, fossils, a huge rock exhibit , crafts and so many things to see and do!! We now have some great memories & photos too. What a fun filled day. I highly recommend this and the cost was reasonable too.
Geoff Paulin: We went in the evening so we could visit the observatory, as well as the other exhibits, including Sue, the T-rex.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry $11–15 …More
Naomi Wei: Cranbrook academy is located at a hill where there are quite a few blocks with nice landscape. In this institute, there are two floors which has science from biology, marine to minerology. In any spring break or summer holiday, any one bring their family to the museum could learn a lot about science behind the earth evolution. And the planet around the building may be good for photography.
Ed Boucher: This is an excellent institution. Engaging for all ages!

Susan M.: It's like a mini Greenfield Village in Troy, MI. I first visited decades ago as a student (not from terrible Troy School District), so it was fun returning as a parent. It's good for spending a few hours or just killing time between activities. My kids thought school during the Pioneer days were much better than awful current day Troy.During covid, they had life sized first responders and healthcare mannequins outside that were a bit too realistic and scary at night.

Tamara Knapp: Chaperoned a second grade field trip. The kids really enjoyed themselves and learned a lot. They started by learning how homes were made and how to make candles - they each got to hand dip candles to take home. Then they leaned about a day in the life of a student and used personal chalk boards and read from books then ended at the school with eating at the olden desks. They then visited an olden store that held a mercantile, post office, pharmacy, and more. They leaned how few items children of their age had back then and each got to make a toy.
