Adoring Pet Funeral Home & Crmtn: what do users think?
David A: We had to bring our beloved cat, Thad, to Adoring Pet following euthanasia due to his illness. Phil and Kara handled everything with care and compassion. The package was affordable and included the cremation, an urn, and a pawprint in stone they take of your pet as a keepsake. There is also a small viewing space where you can spend some treasured last moments with your pet with no rush. I highly recommend and will entrust future needs to Adoring Pet. Despite the veterinarian cremation recommendations, you may take your pet with you to your place of choice.
400 MAGNUM: We lost our beloved 17 year old Cairn Terrier Tetley on April 18th. Kara was so caring with us at this difficult time. We had the chance to spend our last moments with him and say good bye in their chapel. I picked him up two days later, he is now home. Thank you Kara and Adoring Pet for your service and understanding at this very difficult time.
Chad: Nice people work here they let u take your time with your dog before u leave her there take care of rest of it Cremation
Mariam Itawi: My beardie, Guillermo, passed away this week and I brought him here to get cremated. They had him ready a day before they said they would and were so caring and sweet through the entire process. We also got a little plaster claw/tail print and it is the best thing I have ever received. I don’t want anyone to go through pet loss but if you find yourself in a situation like mine I could not recommend them enough.
Alicia Berger: It’s taken me over a year to write this review as it just still doesn’t seem real. Adoring pets, made the hardest day of my life this far easier to say goodbye to our beloved copper. I cannot think the staff enough for being so loving and caring and compassionate. Sarah was so kind and thoughtful. I was pleasantly surprised to see a card in the mail from them today as it has been a year since our boy passed. I cherish his paw print that was given to us in a clay disc and on paper. The wooden box that we keep his remains is absolutely beautifully crafted, and makes me feel so close to him. I do and will continue to recommend them. I do not have enough good things to say about this beautiful company.
Mary Sonntag: I cant say enough good things about adoring pet. They were so sympathetic and sweet through the whole process. They even sent me a card on the one year anniversary of my beloved cat Salem’s laying to rest. You have made a lifelong customer and I recommend you to all my friends and family. Thank you for making this the easiest most comforting experience possible! The box is beautifully detailed and the stone paw print is cherished.
moe green: We just lost our cat Herbie at the age of 21. I don't know much about pet cremation so I had to research the topic. To my dismay I noticed quite a few places do communal cremations. I wanted to be sure we had a private cremation, I expect my own pet back if I have it cremated. While researching I found Adoring Pets. After speaking with them I was very impressed with their procedure and the care that they take. We brought our cat to Adoring Pets, sat down with Kara and went over what was available and exactly what we wanted. They gave us a chance to say our last goodbye. They even provided us with paperwork on how to deal with losing a pet. Our beloved pet was ready for pick up within a few days. They provided us with paw prints and the urn turned out beautiful. We were so very impressed with Adoring Pets, they made our experience much easier to deal with. Thank you.(Jason Aka moe)
Cheryl Bishop: We unfortunately had the opportunity to use this service, on Thanksgiving we lost our beloved pet Banner. The time she took with us was wonderful she explained everything answered our questions and really cared. She offered hugs and listened to us. Banner was placed in the chapel where we could say our goodbyes. She even waited for our daughter to arrive she never hurried us at all.We received Banner home the next day In a beautiful wooden box.I highly recommend them if your in need of this unfortunate service they really are caring and wonderful people.
Dianne Jablonski: Kara made us feel so comfortable when we came with Rocky his life ended with a smile in our heart thank you❤️
Colleen Ott: I had the BEST experience here. I just love Kara. She is so kind and compassionate and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend Adoring Pet. Thank you, Kara!!!
Martha Ptak: It has been one year to the day I contacted Adoring Pet. There is a young lady working there that is absolutely the most lovely Lady!❤❤❤
Sharon Tioran: Kara was so calm, spoke so soft, made me feel as though I've known her my whole life. She shows compassion, empathy, doesn't treat you like a client. You know when you hand over your fur baby she's going to be in good hands. Thank you so much for helping me through this! I'll chose Adoring Pets every time!
Michelle R.: Thank you so much Kara for being there for us and for providing compassionate, professional services. 5 stars truly isn't enough of a high rating!! You are an angel!!! Thank you!
Carey Dushaj: The compassion and caring is 10 stars. I called for my parents after the lose of their dog , she answered the phone in the late evening and was their for my parents when they arrived. She is soft spoken and such a kind genuine person who truly shows respect and concern to families. Thank you for treating my parents with such Grace .
Bob Lathrop: Adoring Pet made a difficult month for Larry the Beagle bearable.
Michelle Sullivan: Adoring Pet Staff were very compassionate towards us and to our beloved Sadie girl. All paperwork was explained gently and time to ask questions was given. The process and conditions of Sadie’s remains were also explained to me prior to retrieving her. When I picked her up, Kara did a beautiful presentation of her and her paw print. I would recommend their services to everyone. Thank you for the compassion and care you take with our beloved pets.
Debbie Roskevitch: My sweet boy Leeroy crossed over the rainbow bridge May 28,2022. The weekend before I called to make all the arrangements. Kara was the person who answered the phone. She was a angel. She was compassionate and so very understanding. Kara explained the process of the Cremation of what would happen to Leeroy. I was very pleased and knew my boy would be taken good care of. Leeroy was transported from the vet to the pet funeral home in which we got to spend time privately and take all the time we needed. Thank you Kara for taking time with us and making our farewell to Leeroy so special.
Melody Bykowitz: The compassion and support that they showed during such a difficult time, was very much appreciated. Everything was explained to me, and it made the process very easy. Karalyn was so kind, and her reading the Rainbow Bridge poem with me, really meant a lot. Thank you for showing my beloved cat such respect.
Rae Bell: They were very respectful and understanding at such a terrible time. They made the process easy, straightforward, and comforting. Thank you so much for taking care of my pet Ryder. He will truly be missed.
Sam Green: Caring and compassionate service. Took their time and walked us through a hard time in our lives. Our Pomeranian Taz meant the world to us.
Vicki Watkins: Today is one year since my cat Bella passed and they sent me a very sweet card in the mail. It was totally unexpected and very appreciated. Very kind

Forest Lawn Cemetery: what do users think?
Heather Bennett-McKibben: After 9 years of on and off searching for my grandmother I reached out to Forest Lawn. The staff whom helped me locate her was amazing. Come to find out my great grandparents are there and we have an available plot as well. Thank you so much for your kindness and help in locating her. Looking forward to coming to visit when the weather is nicer. God bless you 💙🙏🏼
Zlatko Stevanovic: Pricing at this cemetery is ridiculous. Opening/closing costs are at least 30% higher then suburban cemeteries. Given the decline in business this cemetery has experienced; you would think they would aim to attract new business with competitive prices.
David Oravec: December 12, 2022 Update: The fiasco continues!November 7: I received a phone call from Ms. Taylor stating that my parent's companion headstone had arrived and was placed at their gravesite. I called Ms. Jones and we set a date for November 19 for mother's ashes to be buried with my previously deceased father's ashes.November 14: I made a visit to Forest Lawn and NO HEADSTONE! My father's headstone was removed so the bronze plaque could be installed on the new companion headstone, but the new headstone is not there. I went to the office to speak to Ms. Jones and she said she just found out the headstone was not placed and we rescheduled the burial for November 25 so that their companion headstone could be placed prior to the burial.November 25: My wife and I arrived for the burial and still NO HEADSTONE! I met with Mr. Bokas and he said the Supervisor was on his way and that the stone would be placed "next week". I asked if I could see their headstone, but he told me that the stone was in the back room storage and he couldn't take me back there. He also stated that he would send me pictures of the placed companion headstone.November 30 - I sent an email to Mr. Bokas asking when the headstone will be placed, here it is 13 DAYS LATER and NO RESPONSE!December 12: Here it is over a month after I was told that my parent's headstone has arrived and was placed, but that is not the case. I don't know if they lost my father's bronze plaque (which was paid for by the Veteran's Administration) when they removed his headstone and I'm not even certain that the companion headstone is even at Forest Lawn. This entire saga began on May 5, 2022 and my patience is at an end!!!Previous Post: I had an issue ordering a companion headstone for my mother and father, but John Bokas, Myrtis Taylor, and Carmen Jones finalized the design (30 days after I ordered and paid for it) and have ordered the companion base for my parents and the bronze plaque for my mother.
Roxanne Hallums: I’d give 0 stars if I could. My father passed in 2021 and my great grandparents and grandparents are there or I’d move him somewhere else. Ordered a headstone in February, it’s now August and I’ve been unable to even get an update on status. Also, they provided information late winter regarding tilling some soil in the spring to plant flowers. I paid the money to have that done. Memorial Day came, wasn’t done. I called to see when it would be done and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. When I explained to them what it was, they said they’d put a work order in. Father’s Day, still not done so I requested to have my money refunded. I have multiple calls into both Robert and Tamber and I can’t even get a call back. I’m disgusted with these people.Update: I did speak with the owner(?) as stated below in her response. However, the delay is not due to delays in supply chain, it’s because the headstone was never actually ordered until July. So, they took my money in February but didn’t order until July!!!! She did tell me she was going to cancel that order and place the order locally which is only a 6-8 week wait time. I will be calling to be sure it will be on time. I’ll update my review again when I see the headstone.October 14th update. Still no headstone and now Murdys says the order wasn’t placed until Aug 20th. Do not deal with these scammers. I’m so disgusted I’m speechless!!!!Oct 24: she promised me on the 14th (Friday) it would be here by the following Friday (the 21st). It is now October 24th. Still no headstone.November 1. Finally placed headstone.Thank you Myrtiss and Tamber.
Tanisha K: My mother and father head stone has been sitting for several months . My mom pass in December 2020 and her head stone was purchase before her burial . Forest lawn promised that the headstone will be put down spring of 2021. Today it’s October 2022 and my mom birthday is in a couple days and still ForestLawn has not put her and my fathers headstone that will be sharing together down. Just to mention my brother and I have talked to management several times about this situation. Also they need to do something about the pot holes in the back of the cemetery, someone is gonna need some struts driving thru there . This place is terrible and have terrible customer service . I really give them a hands down . Don’t bring your love ones to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
jenniferellison: Absolutely horrible! This cemetery was for years a well kept beautiful final resting place. Now, it’s literally in the toilet! Debris sits for almost a week. Grass is not cut in a timely manner. Trash everywhere. Clean up after storms are not happening. I had to drag THREE tree limbs off of my parents’ graves. Only to hear the excuses, “We are currently working on it and have been”. WHERE?!!! The limbs and branches are right where they fell. The personal at Forest Lawn over the past 5 years is constantly turning over and the excuses are even higher.Do Not Go There!!!!
Jessica Weaver: I would like to say that the cemetery grounds at Forest Lawn are well kept Carmen Jones has a very graceful spirit, she touch my heart with her kindness and respect this is and will continue to be my families cemetery. Thank You...
debbie magee: Emergency. Please help. Please take to Business Reviews sight and social media to plave a negative review of Forest Lawn Cemetery and Coles Funeral Home. Due to their incompetence, we must dig up dad and rebury him. Very painful for us.
Spring: My father recently passed and was placed in the wrong vault by Forest Lawn. His name was on the purchased vault and located a few feet from his burial site. No one took the time to check the vault prior to the interment. Instead, they used one of their cemented vault knowing we purchased one from the funeral home. After the interment, a counselor saw the vault and took a picture. It was too late then.. Now, after grieving the death of my father during his service and burial, we now wait for a 2nd burial-A heavy emotional burden!!
Curtis Maddin: Emergency. Please help. Please take to Business Reviews sight and social media to plave a negative review of Forest Lawn Cemetery and Coles Funeral Home. Due to their incompetence, we must dig up dad and rebury him. Very painful for us. You can search in Google for each busines. Go to the Reviews tab. Rate each business "one star." I will prove my more extended review in the comment section. 50 Reviews today should go along way.
A M: Please keep up the cemetery, this is not cool! The upkeep of this cemetery is poor! While visiting my mom's grave on Christmas a burial casket is just left out in the open. I was very disturbed and if I had an input on where to bury a loved one it would not be here! This is not the first time noticing things, just my first time posting.
steve zepke: Great service!!!
Peter Wilke: This is my first visit to Forest Lawn, I was very impressed by the facility. Well maintained, very nice and helpful staff. My family and I were looking for family buried 70 years ago. The staff looked them up and all but walked right to them. A heartfelt thank you.
Mariko Mae Ashley: Vincent Chin is buried here at the front of section 42 (I have included a map for anyone who is trying to find his grave.). Look for the large bush, his family tombstone with his mother and father are to the right of the bush, and Vincent is immediately behind them. He will never be forgotten and his impact on the Asian American community will live on forever.
Monty Gatson: The second time in as little as 4 months that someone has stolen my mom's headstone flowers. I put them on there late Saturday, early Monday they were gone. No sympathy at the office they could care less! What type of person steals flowers from a headstone???
K J: I have been calling for three weeks for payment resolution and each time I’m told Kim will return my call and she never does. Soooo unprofessional!!!
Debra Westbrook: Always clean & mowed. Very easy to find my Husband. Staff is great
Yolanda Arnold: My family has several plots and a few crypts here. Personnel is not very reliable. Got incorrect info when buying crypts with no resolution. Promised call-backs are never done. Corporate office is not very empathetic in re: to incorrect info by a former employee. Advise you to confirm/clarify ALL information on contracts.
Carol Ghesquiere: My family's site has been neglected, bushes untrimmed, tree growing through middle of bush and obscured most of the view of the memorial stone, markers getting covered with grass. Have visited the office, called on the phone, emailed letters starting May 2019. Promises have been made by Forest Lawn but as of February 19, 2020, nothing has been resolved.March 2020 update: Received a call from Forest Lawn stating a work order has been placed to perform maintenance. I've upgraded the rating from one to two stars and will adjust rating depending on outcome.
Dennis Wise: I have found the staff at Forest Lawn to be very helpful, especially Francesco. I have submitted work orders to have headstones reset, as they had heaved over time. The work orders have been completed at no charge to me, and staff has followed up with me to let me know that the work has been done.
Mike Spurlock: Francesco was extremely helpful. I was looking for my great-grandparents' grave markers and I doubt anyone has looked at them in 50 years. He went out of his way to help me. Not only did he drive out to the grave locations with me, Francesco got on his hands and knees and helped me dig up the sod to find their markers. Fantastic customer service! He said they are also going to raise my relatives' grave markers so they are easier to find in the future. Excellent service.

Cadillac Memorial Gardens East: what do users think?
Joseph Chester: The need arose to bury a loved one in a plot I've owned for over 40 years. I've moved numerous times since then and needless to say it was time for an account update. I live out of state so my initial contact was by email with Steve Smith who was very helpful. A month later, while in Michigan, I sat down with Carolyn Sedrowski and she was amazing. Personable & professional and answered all additional questions regarding my account and burial options. Lots of family & friends are here and I have great trust in their care with CGME.
Margaret Topous: Wow! Where is the perpetual care that they rave about??? Drastic opposite from Resurrection Cemetery nearby. Just there this morning and then went to CMGE to check on graves of family. More families need to see the state their loved ones grave are in. 😠
Gayle Ventimiglia: Extremely poor customer service. I stopped in the the office two months ago. I spoke with Norman and one other gentlemen who I can't recall. Norman was the better of the two but still not great. They had no idea what the Care Memorial Society was. I showed them the wallet card that I have and neither of them were familiar with it an did not seem interested in finding out. They had the opportunity to make a copy of my card and could had researched, but no such luck. I asked a few other questions that they could not answer and left my number with them. As of today, I have not received a call back. Also I was told that it cost $1,500.00 to add the ashes to the Niche which is a crime in itself. When the niche was purchased, we were told there would be no other cost, which is why my mother purchased as she is on a fixed income. All they do is lie and cheat. Also, the grounds are unkept, debris/garbage everywhere, no trach cans, rotting wood, graves covered over. Just despicable. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANY CADILLAC MEMORIAL LOCATION!
Chris Standifer: I had an absolutely phenomenal experience working with Alex Castonguay to help plan the service for my loved one who passed away. Alex was very kind, professional, and answered all my questions about the possible options to choose from. The memorial service went off with no issues and was exactly what my loved one would have wanted. I would highly recommend working with the staff here, especially Alex Castonguay.
Linda Sellars: Some many places to start with this 0 star review. My grandmother, a World War Two veteran, has had no marker to show her finally resting place since 1997. Three years in trying to have a marker placed have been detailed by these people who run the show at this cemetery. After paying what can only be described as an extortion fee by everyone in my family still no marker placed.Trust me and my families experience do NOT place love ones remains here. You will regret it.
Frank Stonehouse: Many family members are buried here. I went to place flowers on all their graves in October 2021 and the grave markers were all covered with grass … no cones for flowers … and the place seemed abandoned and poorly maintained. I feel like my family deserves better. I pushed away the grasses the best I could without the proper tools at hand.
Lisa Bolos: Just talked to a.lady yesterday about items that was on my sister's grave an she said we can get them off since they was removing the stuff SundayGo today (Thursday) to get them an they had already thrown the stuff away
donna Nalezyty: They will take your money and this is what they offerCadillac Memorial Gardens East has been designated by the state as a Perpetual Care Cemetery, meaning that the resting spaces for you and your loved ones will be maintained from now until the end of time. Ashley Nicole: These men showed so much compassion and jumped right up to lift my grandparents' gravestone and level their plot. Ed, Larry and Norman, your help was all very much appreciated!! 🙏
Laura Suessine: My dad, mom and sister are buried there. This is an excellent place. My older sister and I went to visit and the staff took my sister out to the graves on their golf cart because couldn't walk that far because of cancer. They were great!
J l: I enjoyed it
David Sawicki: Veterans section should be kept up better
Tee Venti: Helpful staff and beautiful grounds.
Carol Kalvelage-Bohn: First time here. I had to drive around the outside of area to figure out how to get in off of main roads...perhaps I missed an entrance? Not sure but all I know is that the main entrance is at an Intersection and I was not able to go across and turn left! There is a huge no turn left sign on the street and on the traffic light but it was not easy for me to get in. Just a heads up! Lol...however...Inside was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful grounds, well kept, quiet (obviously) but no noise from main road. Many many sections and gardens. I was able to locate the gravesite because I was on the phone with my Uncle. If this is your first time looking for a site, I would suggest calling a relative or the main office. I did not go in main office but it is right there in front. Easy access. I did not see many peoe but the grounds keepers were very respectful and kind to me as a visitor. I'm very glad I went here today. Very healing grounds.
Jamie Sweet-Burrows: My loved ones are in the Greek section. I like the setup of the place, easy to find the location I am looking for. Easy access from both major roads
leah soutar: I have a lot of friends and family buried here. I have been working here for almost a year and this place is really turning around. The staff is awesome, grounds crew are great, and our families are giving us complements every day! Give us a chance to change your mind and come see us!
Christina Blank: The new staff and owners are really turning this place around! They show compassion for families when they lose loved ones, and are trying their best to turn the older customers opinions around to be positive. Stop in and see the difference!!!!
Tyleen Phillips: My brother passed away last April 16, 2016. Melissa was awesome. She was truly helpful, sincere, & made sure my brother's site was well taken care of when I couldn't make it out. She went above and beyond. I love the cemetery, the staff, & the groundskeepers. This last year was very difficult on me, but Cadillac Memorial Gardens helped me get through it and were very compassionate and understanding.
Meredith Wronikowski: I am sad to see many poor reviews of this cemetery. Both my grandparents are buried here (this was because he was a Veteran, otherwise they probably would have been buried elsewhere by other family), but all I have ever experienced is a very nice and peaceful place. I also have a friend buried here and have heard of no problems. I also was treated nicely when inquiring the location of my past friend's grave. I will note, today while I decided to ride my bike up to my grandparent's graves, I witnessed someone drive right through the grass to leave onto 17 Mile Road as there is no fence. Even though it looked like there were no grave stones in that area (couldn't tell from the distance), I felt it was super disrespectful. The cemetery may want to consider placing more roth iron fencing along open areas to prevent this. Otherwise, I have no issues.
Jackie Herring-Prescott: Funeral held for Vera Laursen was here in their chapel. Very beautiful service. Could have supplied a microphone for the PastorHere with Donald Herring
Mark Grabow: The Most Disrespect I have ever experianced in my entire life--- Not did they only MISPLACE my fathers body 25 years ago they misplaced my mother in laws body and mismarked the grave 30 years ago -- I understand it is not the current owners fault but they refuse to do anything for the family even move the mismarked grave stone or notify the other families involved. The story is so deep and horrible you cant believe it now we can not place my father in law because we are not sure where anyone really is. I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from EVERY using this HORRIBLE company MMG Midwest Memorial Gardens are liars, thieves and ZERO respect for the deceased or the living family members are even worse and now they are destroying the precious things that people leave near the graves. I could understand if it was a problem but they dont even trim around it-- The People that have this issue should band together and file a class action lawsuit and bring the state in for the mismanagement of this company HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE . I can be sure not one of those employees have loved ones there! Trust me this will not be the last you hear from me!!

Woodlawn Cemetery: what do users think?
anne kane: Woodlawn cemetery... One of the most awesome and oldest cemetery in Detroit ☖❤🕆👐🕯☗🌲 some of my family members are buried there amongst the old part of the cemetery ground s yes Elisa k and hazel Thompson yes it's been years and generations ❤👪🕆👀☖i love the old old historical history and marker the statute s are historical by themselves and the mosoliem ☞⚰⏳extremely old in the section my family members are buried 🕆❤its full of Detroit history and it's people 👍👪👥famous or not it's been here since the beginning 👀and still serve s the people of Detroit today ⚘love you great grandmother and auntie hazel 👪⚘👭❤🌈peace to all ☞☗⏳2023🕯🕆🌲
Kandie Mifflin: Immaculately kept. Quaint little roads divide sections, the beautiful headstones, monuments and mausoleums will give you plenty to see while walking.
Timberly Hendricks: Loads of Detroit history. Motown greats, Rosa Parks, automobile families. Oh and Aretha Franklin herself!! Enjoy the beautiful grounds. There were some big trees down throughout the cemetery , so there may be some damage, or blocked roads. Be mindful.Enjoy!
sandra campbell: I ready don’t know how to rate the cemetery customers service. It hurts my heart to say that there is no organization handing off information no one is held accountable. I called for several weeks and no return call and when I spoke with someone they said it would be taking care of. So at that point I’m contacting the headstone company on 8 mile and Woodward seeing if they can contact someone and get some type of respond to a date and time to place my bench.I feel it should be some tracking system to who or what was done or needed to be done. If I’m not on the office for any reason someone should be able to assist me. My family has been at this location with our love ones for over thirty years this was and will be the last. This is not a new business we all are short handed when it comes to hired help but be mindful on how you treat people in returning calls and forwarding information. It should not have taken me three weeks to get the bench placed because of lack of communication.I just hope that this cemetery can get some training in bereavement customer service to help the process of every customer that calls or enter through those gates. My one complaint will not change but it will allow me the opportunity to inform you that changes need to happen to continue to service the people in this community. Maybe asking for volunteers trained to help when you are overwhelmed with work. I just would like it to get better for people needing service from the cemetery.
Angela Lewis: Several of my family members are buried at Woodlawn which is why my Grandmother chose to be buried here as well. I have never experienced or witnessed such blatant disregard, insensitivity or unprofessionalism by a business during such an emotional & difficult time.We arrived to the cemetery immediately after the funeral at our "appointment time" only to find the hole partially dug, the vault was not in the ground, no tent, no chairs, or anything set up in preparation for our arrival. About 100 family members & friends waited and stood by as we watched a truck drive across the lawn, finish digging the grave, lifting the vault, bringing it over to the grave site, lifting the casket, laying it in the ground and covering it with dirt. While the truck was digging, a representative from the cemetery asked could they "just place the casket in the vault" and carry it over to hole that was still being dug up. In our time of grief, this was the LAST thing we needed to deal with. It is unacceptable and offensive to think that this treatment was satisfactory. My grandmother deserved better, our loved ones deserved better...funerals aren't free and this is the service we paid for.
Shwalker 1214: Thank you Ms. Darlene for everything I really appreciate it. ❤️
April Seigfried: My grandmother and her parents were buried there. My mother passed and wanted to be buried right on top of her mother's grave. My mother was cremated and I called, they wanted over $3000 just to bury her ashes. I know that my mother would say no way. Anyhow, the headstones in all 3 of them were pushed underground. I had to cut and rip every overgrown grass on the stones that needed to be seen clearly. I'm so disappointed how Woodlawn cemetery doesn't take care of the overgrown grass.
Wendy Mets: Absolutely beautiful and serene cemetery!
Sheila Hughes: The staff, notably Kay Tatum has severly tarnished the impression I've always held of this historic beautiful cemetery. In August of this year, my sister and I visited to purchase a headstone/bench for my mother's grave. At that time Kay also attempted to sale me a plot , and in fact called me on several occassions to continue her "sales" attempt. Never during any of those calls did she ever indicate a delay or any problem with the order for the bench , which we paid for in full in August! Finally, I asked Kay for a status of the bench , she responded with alarm and asked me - what bench? Of course I was shocked and reminded her we signed documents and paid in full to order a bench. She indicated a desire to check on the order and get back to me. To date (12/7/21) I've NEVER received a response from Kay. My sister called the manager, Sylvia and was told unfortunately the bench was never ordered , but she could order it now to have delivered in Spring of 2022! We were absolutely devasted with this news , given our plans for a ceremony at the grave to honor our mother could now not take place. Slyvia did not return any of my phone calls ! Eventually Sylvia sent an email apologizing and indicating she would send a refund minus an administrative fee!! This has been the worse case of customer service I've ever encountered in my entire life! These are the most incompetent individuals possible!! They failed to show any compassion for this situation at all! To date I do not have a refund from this cemetery, just unbelievable service. Clearly their focus is commission on selling plots and graves .
Michelle Cass: my husband and I purchase his mom headstone, we were told it would be there in July, its going on November soon. we paid in full and we wanted our reciept and never got it. We were told the headstone is in GA. im about to call Help me Hank for maybe he can help me honor my mother in law.
Audrey Ridgell: I had the pleasure of meeting Kay Tatum who provided exceptional customer service on some personal business I had with Woodlawn Cemetery. Unfortunately, there were a couple of things that unfolded that pertained to the past burials of my Mother and Father, but thanks to Kay she righted the wrongs. Thank you Kay you are truly an asset to Woodlawn and the definition of what excellent customer service is.
diamond hicks: This where Rosa parks is
Kimberly Scherer: I visit my family often, and the grounds are clean, well maintained, and the sense of peace is wonderful. Herds of deer wander the back of the graveyard, and it is beautiful all four seasons. In winter they keep the roads clear.
Saham Kareem: Beautiful and peaceful. Full of trees and sculptures. The lady at the main office was lovely. She was very welcoming and provided us with a map and a list of names of well-known people who were laid to rest here.
Mercades Benz: The cemetery is beautiful. I saw rosa parks . I been wanting to go see Rosa Parks for a while so I was overwhelmed knowing I got the opportunity to see Rosa Parks. The downside is that the Graves in the back of the cemetery are covered with grass. I tried hard to remove some off a few Graves. I wanted to go back to clean off a few Graves hopefully soon. This is a beautiful place.
Zeezee Bee: Laid my father to rest with his Sister I plan to pre pay for me a plot
Dean Politis: You need to be extremely careful walking here. The road has huge potholes and the lawn is uneven. I almost twisted my ankle walking to the graves I was visiting. In the 43 years we have been coming here,I don't recall then ever filling the holes in the road. The management has improved from the past. Several years ago they came to the graves on Memorial Day to see if people had ant issues. The past two years they haven't done this; but with covid, it is better they didn't.It is much safer than before. I would still recommend locking your doors when cle a ning and visiting graves. In the past, my mother had something stolen from her car while cleaning the graves.
finessa bedoun: Beautiful historic cemetery with well maintained grounds.
Phyllis Merriweather: Thank you to the staff at Woodlawn for assisting us with the pre planning services for our Mom. We like to particularly acknowledge Counselor Darlene Mathis who went above and beyond to make sure that we were completely informed and satisfied with our decisions following the death of our mom. She accommodated requested changes from one Chapel to another. Darlene worked with us to set up the service and then followed up to make sure that everything ran smoothly. She was a true gem. Very knowledgeable and efficient. Woodlawn is a great cemetery, our family has a long-standing relationship with Woodlawn. Darlene Mathis and the office receptionist are added bonuses and we thank and salute you! God bless you! Mr and Mrs Torreano Merriweather Sr
Opinionated Facts: I go here for a break from the garbage of society. I love this cemetery. Be careful of the coyote and wolf, though. They take turns being here throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Honestly, I’ve stopped going as often because of this.
sophia fossett: My Mother, my grandparents and other family members are here. My husband and I also have prepaid plots. Problems have been: my mother-in-law was buried last week and once the funeral procession arrived we were guided around the cemetery instead of being received at the Rosa Parks house for a ceremony. In addition, we were quoted wrong prices and appointment times by the same person. In addition to all of this my husband's nephew was buried there in 2017 and his date of birth is still incorrect on his headstone and it still hasn't been fixed. I say all of this to say I get that businesses / people make mistakes but all of these things combined is just unprofessional and I don't understand why the family that's grieving has to be the the one to have empathy and patience instead of the other way around.

Acacia Park Cemetery: what do users think?
Laurel Bates: I visited for the first time in 20 years last month after we had moved out of state about 10 hours away. My great-grandparents, grandparents, an uncle, and my infant daughter are buried there. I was so sad to see the condition of their graves. My grandmother, who died 9 years ago, was the last person buried in the family plot and her grave was alarmingly sunken in. My daughter's marker was completely grown over with grass and dirt. We tried to wipe things off with some paper towels and water from the car but it was not enough to make a difference. I went to the main office to get a holder for flowers as well as ask for a way to clean the marker and headstone and even though there was a car out front no one came out after I stood and called out for 5 or so minutes. My family's headstone doesn't look as though it's been touched since I saw it 20 years ago. It's disgraceful that as much as it costs for a burial and headstone, etc... that there is no maintenance over the years to keep it looking nice. There was also a good-sized pothole at the entrance which adds to the overall disrepair of the cemetery as well. I started visiting my grandfather's grave there as a child nearly 50 years ago and up until I left the area in 2003, it was nice. It looks like a different place now.
Gary Korzeniewski: Great cemetery!
James Cunningham: She’ll be good to be at the garbage company to get some exercise and it might work out
Mitchell Hudson Jr: Family Rememberace
LeeAnn Elmore: I have came to see my dad for his birthday last yr and i could not find my dad for over a hour BECUZ there was so much dirt and leaves on top of him i had to get a shovel n dig out my dad how sad ill be coming out there today for his birthday let see if its clean
Halbert Smith: Wonderful and caring service !
Diane Gavie: I am following up on the review written by CHELSEA LOCANO (my niece) a week ago, we heard from the cemetery that they would be out there last week and fill in the HOLE that was and still is filled with water and trash. (Because my daughter threatened to call the news) Yes, they put a little dirt in but could you not fill it to the top? This is a mudhole, not a resting place for my mother. I am so upset over seeing my mothers grave like this, how can any company (YES A CEMETERY IS A COMPANY) show such disrespect to our beloved deceased? Myself and my sister went back out there yesterday to follow up that they had taken care of this matter. THEY DEFINATELY DID NOT! if I could give them a 0 star review, I certainly would. My next step will be to call them AGAIN and see if they can get their staff to do their job. Needless to say, when they buried my grandmother in the wrong grave (prepaid and pre picked out) we should have known better.2:13 pm Just spoke with Hassahn Collins (manager) at Acacia Park, said he sent a crew out today to take care of this, i will go take another look this weekend. Just show some respect people!!!
Chelsea Locano: This is one of the worst cemetery’s I have ever been to. My great grandma and now my grandma is buried here (only because it was already paid for before she passed). I came to visit her today and from the road it doesn’t even look like it’s filled with anything. Just looks like an empty hole was just dug. When I walked up to it it was sunk in and filled with water and a bunch of garbage. I’m literally sick to my stomach. My family and I should not have to come and see my grandmas grave like this. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention, my grandma fought with this place for over a year to get my great grandmas headstone fixed (it was sunk about a foot into the ground and crooked). So if anyone is thinking about putting their loved ones here, I would definitely reconsider.
