The Piano Place: what do users think?
Rowland washburn: Knowledgeable, informative, polite, Those are just a few words that come to mind of the staff. Immediately upon entering the store there was no pressure from sales reps. During my visit I had met some of the sales team and technicians. Simply put they are the best of 4, absolutely. The prices are fair and the selection is average in size. A mix of new and used not a bunch but a good offering for what they have. The number one thing I noticed, their used selection consisted of pianos ready...I've seen some pianos at other stores called great! but had some real issues (not talking out of tune). I felt overall a balance of quality and doing business. If you stop in there on a budget try the Hailun Grands. They are very nice at their price point.
kelly lewis: I bought a piano from the piano place in December 2022, sold by Grant and it was a really good experience however the piano ended up having numerous issues. They sent two technicians to try to resolve the issues and then allowed me to trade it for another one without any problems. I ended upgrading to another piano and I have to say that the new piano is absolutely amazing and I am overjoyed. My experience with the piano place, primarily with Grant because I worked with him the most but also Scott who was so kind and helpful, has been phenomenal. I could not be happier. I have never met someone so passionate and knowledgeable of pianos as Grant. And I know that if I need anything else they will be supportive.
Cindy Turkish: Grant is amazing! He is generous with his time, knowledge and experience! His love of all things piano related is most obvious!
A Y: Great service and very nice staffs! Loved the beautiful Fazioli concert grand!!!
Annie: Grant at The Piano Place is an expert with pianos! Whatever you need to know about pianos - go see Grant! You can be assured that Grant will direct you towards your dream piano and offer the fairest price possible. I trust Grant 100%!Also, The Piano Place sells Fazioli pianos, now my #1 dream piano. Please treat yourself to a wonderful experience and test this piano out at The Piano Place! On a side note, we had our spring recital at The Piano Place and it was a pleasure from start to finish! The entire staff made the experience memorable and we performed on a Fazioli piano🎹!
Prasenjit Mitra: Knowledgable people, you feel very comfortable browsing through their inventory without being pushed to buy.
Julian Hicks: This place has so many beautiful pianos its not even funnyand the staff is very friendly I look forward to coming back
James Falls: The Piano Place is a great resource and wonderful place to go. The staff made my me and my granddaughter’s visit special. If you are interested in pianos you must stop by and enjoy this store.
Debra Uygur: Well, I took the plunge! My Casio PX-S3100, stand, and 3-pedal unit arrived about a week ago thanks to The Piano Place in Troy, Michigan. It is my first ever digital piano (with MIDI recorder) and I'm so delighted with it! Scott Blackett at The Piano Place was very, very helpful in determining what kind of digital piano would be the best for me, along with the accessories. He took the time to explain what The Piano Place offers and answer all of my questions about digital versus acoustic pianos. I have already experimented with many of the 700 tones that are included in the Casio PX-S3100, and recorded a system track and overdubbed two solo tracks. How fun! I'm excited to keep exploring all that my new Casio has to offer. Thank you again to Scott for sharing his expertise and being available throughout the process, and also to Grant Wolach for finalizing the quote. If you need a piano, don't hesitate to contact The Piano Place experts. I'm so glad I did! Debra U.
Alexandria Schmidt: Awesome place to check out a wide variety of pianos and play! Scott was great in helping us decide what type and brand of piano would be best for us.
Jacob Horsch: Great experience here. Grant was extremely knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone.
Curt Stotler: Just wanted to share the unbelievable experience that we had at The Piano Place. My son began playing keyboard and it quickly became obvious piano was going to be a passion for him. Grant and his staff at The Piano Place were very patient with us as we did not know the first thing about purchasing a piano. We were shown multiple different options and Grant took the time to teach us the pros and cons of different models and levels of available pianos. We never felt pushed to purchase something that was beyond our budget or my son's capabilities. If you are looking to purchase a piano I would not hesitate to go on in and see what they have to offer. The delivery crew were quick, clean and efficient. Couldn't be happier with the overall experience.
Suzette Thiessen: The entire experience of buying a piano with Grant was a distinct pleasure. Stress free and I loved every minute of it. Grant’s technical knowledge is obviously unparalleled, but he does not overpower one with details. Grant masterfully balanced the technical with the tactile, all while focusing on the innovative and most importantly quality of sound.
Jim P: A wonderful experience from start to finish. Exceeded any expectation by far.
Luisa Scavo: Grant and his team are kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. The Piano Place has a wide selection of pianos for many budgets, needs, and tastes — he made sure we went home with one that our family will treasure for years to come.
Allison: In our piano search, we almost did not stop in here. I’m so glad we did! They have an amazing assortment of pianos for all types of players and a very helpful team who truly want to find the right piano for YOU. Very much people focused and caring. We checked out all of the metro Detroit piano stores, but ended up making our purchase here. If we need another piano upgrade in the future, we will be back!
Robert Cholette: Great experience and now a proud owner of the New Casio 6000. Scott walked me through to a decide the best product for our needs! Thanks Scott & Grant
Proximal Consciousness: Just had my upright Piano delivered from The Piano Place, the online process went very well. I was able to select from a list of beautiful pianos at an affordable price, I was then able to schedule delivery on a day of my choosing and at a reasonable time. The agent was attentive to every detail following the order. The delivery guys arrived promptly and were quick with the install. My very first Piano experience will be a cherished one. Thanks!Regards,Ernest Ivory - Purchaser
Xin Sun: Today is the last day of the year. Our purchase of a grand piano back in August is indeed the highlight of our 2022. Grant is the best sales manager on earth. Being in sales myself, I can testify that he puts his heart in every business.
Cathy Pope: I couldn't be happier. Doing business with Grant and Scott and the movers was so natural and pleasant. They have a grand selection of pianos – uprights, baby grands, and grands of all sizes. They give pianos to schools, they can tell you everything there is to know about each and every piano that they have. And they were so easy and reasonable to work with in order to bring this lovely instrument into our home. We'll definitely be doing business in the future.By the way it's located in a warehouse-type building but there's a glass door entrance facing the street and a back door entrance facing the parking lot.
Michele Biernot: Found the perfect piano for my home at The Piano Place. Great service from everyone involved in my purchase and in the delivery.

Kawai Piano Gallery of Michigan: what do users think?
Cathy Geng: Jordan is very professional and patient. Help us understand all the differences and recommend the best piano for us. He arranged the old piano disposal as well. Excellent service!
Alexander Zachary: I am very happy with my purchase of a used Yamaha grand piano. It took me 3 years before I actually bought a piano and was excited that the staff remembered me and was excited to work with me. They did a great job showing me the differences between the pianos and let me play all of the ones I wanted. Definitely will recommend.
Victor Gonzalez: Brendan was very helpful since I was trading a digital piano for a hybrid one. Not pushy at all and very knowledgeable of the instruments’ features.
Maryann Cromwell: Weekly
PA ACTIVE BROTHERS: Great place! Friendly staff!
Robert Wilhelm: I've been going there for lessons for over 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience. The teaching is superb, and everyone is extremely kind and friendly. A warm an friendly atmosphere.
Bob Buchta: Looking forward to the piano class I will take there soon.Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Myra Tucker: Went to start piano lessons. Awesome experience. Instructor, Lisa, is personable and knowledgeable and I'm looking forward to learning from her.
Max Feinstein: Great place and good teacher so far my kid likes it a lot and I do as well
David Smith: Susan has great group piano classes. It's a wonderful experience.
Joan Hoult: Made an inquiry
Allison Kincius: I went to the closing sale in Canton and ended "purchasing" a digital piano. Dave, the salesman, told me it "could" take into November to get my piano given global shipping issues. I put my deposit down. He also said he'd call me within three days to say what the better estimate was for receipt. I never heard from him until I sent multiple emails and a week later. The price I was quoted as a "sale" price is what the manufacturer suggests. Here we are in December and I "may" have a delivery date this week but as the communication is SO bad I have no idea what is is happening. I've let messages, and emails begging for information but I get nothing. I called last week, talked to Tony who said he'd call me back as he was expecting a customer to arrive any minute, but I never heard back. The only reason I've stuck it out this long is because they have my deposit.
Vanzola Carter: Both my grandchildren are learning from Mr. Harrison. Great Teacher.
kim gauthier: I've been taking classes at Evola for over 4 years. The classes are fun and Lisa Y is a great teacher.
Jon H: I really liked the staff. Tony was great but even the front receptionist she was very professional and friendly. Piano we got looks to be a really nice Kawai and boy does it look sharp. Will be getting it tomorrow. Tony helped us narrow our choices down and the guy really knows his pianos. Thank you Tony for helping us out. My three kids will each enjoy playing the Kawai!
Suzanne Johnson: I have been searching for a grand piano on and off 2 and half years that was affordable but had a rich tone, was tuned, had an easy action, and clear treble. Everything I liked was too expensive. I went to 6 piano stores, including one in Daytion Ohio. I learned from watching many youtube videos about grand pianos that Baldwin grands made in the 1960's and 1970's had a very good sound, had been hand crafted and could be bought for a reasonable price. I went to one of Evola's Piano sales 2 weeks ago and was shown a 1966 5 ft 8 in Baldwin Grand. It was a dream to play. The sustain held for 50 seconds without using a sustain peddle. The piano was in excellent condition. It was delivered 45 min after I said I would like to buy it. I really love to play it. If you would like to hear it, go to youtube, my channel's name is "The Imperfect Pianoist #2"
Zhaohui Sun: Excellent people and service. I bought my pianos from them twice, from upright to grand.
John Yike: Family friendly environment; no pushy sales people; lessons & classes available.
Christallin Johnson-Smith: I heard that Evola Music was having a sale on the weekend, so I went to the sale. I was looking for a digital piano. I was referred to Paul W. He was an incredible salesman! He was patient with me helping me find exactly what I wanted in my price range. He was very patient and demonstrated each piano. He provided outstanding customer service and support. I found the experience delightful and purchased the Kawai KDP70 the very next day. I highly recommend Evola Music for outstanding customer service and quality instruments.
John Gusway: Friendly and knowledgable people. Always great selection and price
Katherine Harris: Terrible private lessons. I had private lessons here from ages 7-8 and all my peers were playing music of similar repertoire for a Winter recital of extremely mediocre skill. None of us improved to a level we should have been at, at the time I was there. My teacher was underqualified and never pushed students to use their strengths and never pushed them to legitimately practice. I shifted to a private instructor and had to unlearn terrible habits I had learned. The Evola I went to had a very nice recital hall though. Very nice Fazioli and resonant sound. I had a masters class there a couple years ago.
