Creative Arts Studio: what do users think?
Nicole Bosca: Thank you for an awesome experience for my nieces and I! The instructor was amazing. We were there for the younger ones 7th birthday, and when she would eventually go out of lines / mix colors, she would get frustrated and turn it into an abstract piece. Our instructor encouraged her and let her use two canvasses herself so my other neice and I could finish ours which I thought was generous. But as our instructor finished her teaching piece, she gave it to my neice to touch up so she could have a unicorn painting to bring home too. I expected the lesson to be instructional, but her ability to work so well with children was above and beyond. Thank you!!!
Marissa Morrison: Did a private lesson with Michael and he was an amazing instructor. Super informative and genuine! :)
Kayla Elizabeth: So this was one of the coolest pieces of art I've ever made. I did the Wheel Throwing and the person who taught me was very good at showing me what to do and was very helpful along the way. I noticed a birthday party in the room next to me with a bunch of children and the person teaching the kids was very nice sounding and sweet with them. These people definitely know what they are doing and are very nice. I 100% recommend! (I have pictures below of the bowl I made!)
Keith Mandell: Great time. In a great area
Ashley B: From what I heard they had the best selection of ceramics to pick from and paint and they did not lie! This is a cool little spot to really get creative and learn a new skill like pottery, glass fusing, or even canvas painting and ceramic paintings of course. Me and two friends went and learned how to make a bowl and got to paint it at the end. An experience I recommend it was such a relaxing and yet fun experience with our instructor Ben who was so nice as he guided us through the class. There is something for everyone even the little ones! In fact there was a table with kids painting ceramics when I first arrived! They have everything you need to create something unique and special. I look forward to visiting more often and with the kids.
Andrew Handal: Fun to do but poor results. We were told that they would cut off/modify the bottom of one bowl and they never did leaving it in a weird shape. For the other one that turned into more of a plate, it cracked a lot on the inner rim and wasn’t even filled by anything. Just a cracked, unusable plate now. Kind of feels like we got sold a broken product lol. If it’s finished and looks fine and then cracks when they’re responsible for it it feels kind of weird that it becomes our problem to deal with an unusable plate lol.
Savanna Vo: I had a great time with my friends. Our instructor, Ben, was very kind and did an amazing job demonstrating how to make the bowls. The customer service was also great. I would definitely recommend going, it was a very fun experience
Kylie Newman: This is one of my favorite places in the area for crafty things. I tend to go once a month at minimum. I find the staff are always very clear about pricing, length of time it takes for projects to be ready, and instructions for the project. They are significantly busier this year than they were at the same time last year. At this point in time I highly recommend making a reservation for the weekends.Comments for the studio:All the staff are amazing! Everyone is incredibly friendly and patient. When are you guys going to expand? 😝I want to keep showing off this gem!
Jessica “Jade” M: My husband and I did the wheel throwing class. It was surprisingly fun and relaxing. It was also reasonably priced. It took a few weeks to get the finished product but we love the bowls we made. This place offers a lot of other ways to be creative so check them out.
Keisha “Keisha” E: This place is awesome! Located in Royal Oak, Mi. If you’re looking for something different to do. This is perfect. Perfect for kids, a date, family outing, the elderly, date night or a solo trip. Painting is very therapeutic and can be a stress reliever. You pick your item to paint off one of the tables or shelves. Whatever price that’s on it that’s what you pay for. Item prices range from $13-$200. It’s also a studio fee. They have plenty of colors to choose from. They offer walk in projects wish include pottery painting, mosaics and glass fusing. They also have appointment only projects. Which include canvas painting, wheel throwing and wood board pallet painting. They also have a party room you can rent. Although they do take walk-ins. It’s small inside so it’s best to make reservations. You have to leave your item and pick it up in 2 weeks. Because it has to be set. They have Art Kits To Go that can be delivered or you can do Curbside Pickup. They are open Monday – Friday: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm. Saturday: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm and Sunday: 12:00 – 6:00 pm.
Mariam N: Great experience! 1 hour private wheel throwing session with BenWe can’t wait to see our final results!
Sita Sita: Excellent atmosphere and lots of options to explore your creativity
Grdgory Truskowski: Nice place, parking a challenge
Megan McKenna: Our party of 5 made reservations for the 1 hour wheel throwing class. We had a fantastic experience. Emma was our instructor and could not have been more patient with us! We were all new to this and had no idea what we were doing. She was able to guide us and help each one of us as needed. We laughed the entire time and had a blast. Emma deserves a million stars. We were each able to make wonderful pieces! We would love to come back and have her be our instructor for the 6 week class! We’ve been raving about our day since we left. We’re looking forward to our next experience with your studio.
Kelli Thomas: We had a lot of fun! Hardest part was picking out what we were going to paint! Definitely going again.
Conise Curry: Was one of my fav places until I went back to get my two pieces and they where no longer there! Like what did y’all do with it? I literally called 2 weeks ago to see if my pieces was still there I was told yea, drive there and Nothg, they didn’t even compensate me like whatttt.
Niles Larson: Fantastic staff and great experience!
Media One: First time here came out with the wife will definitely come back. Didn't take any pictures cuz I was too busy getting f***** up. Have a great night everyone
Joseph Michael Pellerito Jr.: This is one of the truly unique places in Metro Detroit where you can work with amazing professionals, such as Rachel, and create your own three dimensional art and family keepsake!
Mark Sobolewski: Took 3/6 of the intro wheel throwing. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with clay for the first time, but beyond learning to center and some tool basics, it really felt more like open studio time, and not like much of a directed class. I wish we would have had a little more consistency with who was leading the class, and planned projects. I had no idea what to make or how to make it. If we were all working on creating the same objects there would be more opportunity for everyone to learn. I felt a bit lost and stopped attending. Definitely think the class sizes should be smaller.
Chaslin Jenkins: They are always wonderful here. We have come here multiple times. Once for a birthday party, other times for pottery painting and footprints. Great family place. I love all their class offerings and would love to try a wheel throwing class.

The Bee's Knees: what do users think?
Sean Magiera: As an adult going here without children. The selection of items to paint was... Lacking.... But the experience was great. All of that aside.... This is the place to bring your kids birthday party. While we were painting there was a Birthday party for an 8 year old girl.. and the staff was ALL about that. They engaged every kid... Made sure everyone was having a good time... Everyone in the party, boys and girls, seemed to be having a blast. It really elevated the whole mood of the studio... Even for the two non-affiliated adults at our own table doing our own thing. The mood was just.... Infectious...And it was all because the wonderful staff there stayed fully engaged, and there wasn't a hint of sarcasm or cynicism.Literally everyone that walked through the door was happy.
Jessi WalkItOut: Took my son and niece (6 & 7) here for mosaics. We had zero experience, so I was nervous, but the results were great. Staff was so helpful and friendly! Really fun evening!

Cassidy Vote: Had so much fun painting with friends
Prakrithy Pradeep: I love hanging out and painting pottery (even tried my hand at glass fusion today) here - the space has a great vibe, the staff (❤️ Jules & Colette) are knowledgeable & helpful, and the pricing is reasonable.Having been here multiple times, I've got a table that's "mine" and have built a rapport with the staff.
David Lingerfelt: Super friendly and helpful.
Tom Toro: Fun for a family.
Renee Lefrak: The owner, Lori, was super responsive to our experience and her follow up made our experience even better. Thanks, Lori!
Jason Weaver: Helpful, artsy employees in a fun environment with a nice selection of pottery to paint.
Bi-polo Lori: Very nice, informative staff. Just kind of quiet in there. We had a good experience. Pricing was fair.
Sarah Beydoun: Had a birthday party for my 10 year old and it was absolutely perfect! Our party host did an amazing job keeping the girls on track and helping them with whatever they needed. Per request, all party guests as well as host kept mask on whole time. Everyone had a blast! Definitely recommend as a party venue for any age!
Bryan Holt: Great place to make gifts for loved ones.
Derek Carnahan: Two daughters got to paint a few things. Staff was friendly and the paint was on the table with everything you need. Would bring the girls back and get the to go kits.
Danielle Koppes: I appreciate the quiet/down time...they have a lot of crafty ideas and things to do, but could use more selection for ceramics, please. The staff are cheery and helpful. Nice place

Michigan Art Center: what do users think?
Andy Phillips: Getting supplies (especially clay) here is worth a drive. I haven't taken any classes, but on every visit I can see that the students have thrown amazing stuff. Proprietor is super friendly and helpful.
Douglas Mitchell: I visited the retail store and it was great. They have tons of glazes, tools, supplies, pretty much everything you need to get set up for ceramics. They have classes here as well but I have not taken any
Eric Alder: A great place to start learning pottery skills or to explore different techniques.
Philip Deneau: Great place to do ceramics and pick up supplies.
Melissa C: Great place to learn pottery. Nice and knowledgeable staff and instructors.
Zachary King: Really cool place!
Amanda Clarke: Great place to go for pottery classes, clay, and supplies. Better glaze and tool selection than anywhere else I've been in metro Detroit. As a bonus, everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Alicia Krol: I've been coming to the MAC ever since it opened. 5+ years. Actually, followed Mike here from the previous community college where he taught ceramics.Overall, it's a great place to learn or continue ceramics whether it's hand building or wheel thrown. This place has studio provided clay, glazes, kiln, etc., In addition to a store where you can buy commerical glazes and tools.
marla pendleton: Wonderful place with wonderful people. My husband and I take a clay wheel throwing class here and the community is amazing. They have everything we need for our class and are so informational.
AllThingsAddicting 5: Can be a little tricky to locate but a great place to learn and make cool stuff!
David Stevens: Ok.

Stephanie Rausch: This place is great! Loved taking a class here.
Duane Tufts: My wife loves taking pottery classes here.
Linda Mae: Enjoying learning how to use the wheel. I am only a few weeks in but have already improved so much. The amount of help/clay/fun you have for the price is worth it.
no never: The owner mike Kuhn is extremely unprofessional, explosive and an overall jackass. Don’t go here, save your money and go elsewhere. Someone should really call him on his god awful behavior. You don’t treat people the way that he does. God willing this business sinks or someone buys him out. Screw they guy.
Marie Raymond: My Boyfriend got me a semester here 3 years ago for Christmas. I have been there since! Great place to learn or just enjoy ceramics!
Sabrina B: Great people and space! Love it!
Joe Jackson: I've been coming here for almost 3 years and in my experience this is The Best Studio Around! Mike runs a first class operation with top quality instructors (that care) and equipment. It has a Great Vibe and everyone is so helpful and encouraging. I Love going there, it is my "Happy Place! "If you are looking for a creative outlet that is chill with nice people that are willing to share their knowledge then this is "The Place To Go!"
