alisha petty: I reached out to the consumer energy store to return the google nest thermostat. And spoke with Gladys who is no help lack of customer service. I wasn’t aware the thermostat if it needed to be returned had to be returned in 30 days. I asked for a supervisor who name is supposedly Chelsea never got on the phone and asking questions through Gladys. When I asked what the supervisor name was she come up with some story that she told her to assign it to someone else. Would never recommend shopping in the consumer energy store in the future.

Serdar Caglayan: I am living in Farmington Hills Barlow Street since 2016. Yesterday they came to my home and cut my gas without knock the door. They need just one sign. Now we are 4 days without gas (no heater no hot water no cooking). Outside is 32 Fahrenheit. We are frozen. I called 888... 5 times but they will come 3 days later. I am a Medical Doctor. If anybody from Consumers Energy comes to my urgent care I can not say wait 4 minutes not days. I am so upset.
Jo Ann Uhrynowski: I press the number they asked for, again they asked the same question 2 more times...then they disconnect. This has happened 4 times.
Matt Kraft: I reached out for a free home energy analysis. They cancelled their appointments twice, which already were a month out. On the third attempt the best they could do for me was waiting another 34-days… that’s just not good business.
Darren Finnigan: Need a technician to come out so we can get gas running to our furnace. Told us they would come between 6 and 9. We don't live in the house currently so we had to wait 3 hours and no one showed up. There's no after hours number we can call either. We got three calls during the day to ask us how our call went with the scheduled but couldn't be bother to show up at the set time.

Rachel Prysok: I had an appointment today to have gas turned on between 6-9pm. It is 8:55 and I have wasted my Friday night in an empty house with only my Phone waiting for nothing. Unfortunately can’t call anyone cause consumers is closed. They’ll be hearing from me. What a waste
Pat B: Bad company picked up the appliance plan two weeks ago I call to get my Water tank fixed and they say I have to wait another week. Then on top of it now it’s pre existing. Like no it was fine when I 1st picked up the plan. What a joke and wast of almost 60 dollars per month.
Ski Going: This service provider will kill you and your family they have no accountability for their wrong actions. This cpany is sad and a poor forced service on us. I'd never buy another home in the areas they cover. This poor excuse for a company left gas leaking out of my meter into my walls for 2 months then I started smelling throw my bedroom wall. I called and they fixed it but everyday I go to sleep and wake up I'm smelling Gas. To make it all worst the person they sent out to fixed the leak turned gas off and when he turned it back onl he left me with no hot water.

Nathan Gearhart: We recently purchased a home that needed some work and I scheduled for Consumers to turn the gas on on June 15. I was in and out of the house as we did repairs and just assumed someone came that day when I was in the attic. I checked the gas at the stove later and it lit and sustained a flame, so I thought it had been turned on. But then I couldn't get the water heater to sustain a flame. It would light and ignite, but not stay on. So I called a plumber from WaterWork Plumbing. After an hour and $185 he realized that the gas wasn't even turned on... Consumers immediately got someone out to the house to turn it on, but it turned out that our home had an extra meter on it for commercial use, and they dispatched an expert on that within 15 minutes. I couldn't believe he got there so fast. He knew exactly what he was doing and even tried to get my water heater running for me. He noticed that the hood was out of position and wasn't making the right arc with the thermapile anymore (I don't really know exactly what all that means....). So I called WaterWorks back out. WaterWorks kindly refunded me the cost of their second visit ($95) -- they left telling me I needed to replace two assemblies in my water heater. And 30 minutes later, I had it fixed using the instructions the Consumers guy gave me. WaterWorks was not willing to refund anything from the initial visit. So I paid them $185 to fix it myself. However, this is where Consumers shined even more. When I called them to tell them what happened to get a new appointment to turn the gas on, the customer service agent immediately started the process of filing a claim to reimburse me for the initial plumbing bill! I couldn't believe that the big energy company provided better customer service than a local, highly recommended plumbing company. Today I received my check for WaterWork Plumbings services for $185 in the mail, from Consumers Energy.
J M (J): I was going to give consumer energies 2 🌟 but because I have to make this post that's 1 🌟 I've had an ERROR on my high tech meter for Idk how long well over 1 year could be 2 years with estimated electricity bills and I use my electricity to heat my house now when they replace if they replace it they will send me a new bill and Idk if I will owe or if they will owe me but it's a scam and they say it's a chip problem I say put the old school meter back in and send a person out to read the meter your technology could cause me a lot of problems for your profits the cost for electricity has tripled in the last idk 10 years most likely due to their renewable energy projects forced by the government -1 🌟
jimess1000: Have been "upgrading" underground lines (Royal Oak, MI) since September 2021 and still holes and destroyed landscaping with July 2022 approaching. Very professional!

Salvador Alvarado: I see Consumers Energy and its Home Appliance Plan is just a fraud. Just like some other people leaving reviews and bad experiences, I'm going through the same issue right now.I've been paying over 60 dollars a month for years and my refrigerator broke last week. This is the second week and after the third technician yesterday, the fridge is just not fixed.The technician yesterday said it might be a thermostat and if we bought it, he would install it for us. What??? Consumers Energy just collects the money and advertises something completely false.I'm planning on filing a case with BBB to ser if they help me on this situation. I have the Gold package with Consumers Energy but it's obviously a more expensive fraud.If somebody knows another way to get help on this, please let me know.
brooke: Corey showed up with the quickness to diagnose my gas leak. He was awesome and had very kind energy. Thank you, Corey! The next day I was given a time frame of 9 pm-12 am to confirm the repair of my gas leak. Matt showed up 2 hours ahead of schedule, and thank you, Matt, because this lady has grad school finals in the am. I couldn't be more thankful for a hot shower, a warm home, and a much-needed night's rest. You guys rock.P.S.I never write reviews ;D

XGP: On sign up I asked what my cost per month could be, but it was redirected to the section which controls internet/home. Who doesn't have the information. So they placed me back on the automated service for a call back so someone can tell me how much I would pay for service... Why, if it's beginning service setup, can't I ask how much I'll be paying and get an immediate answer?It's like they're trying to be bad...
Erika Hoveland: Unbelievable! My husband and I have been paying into the Consumers Energy Appliance Protection Program for many years. Two years ago, our dryer stopped working around Christmas time. It was during Covid ( I will give them a break for that) but it took them weeks to come to fix it. When they finally arrived, they told us it was unrepairable so our appliance plan would not cover it. Last year, the latch that holds the fridge door closed broke but when we had it looked at we were told that GE does not make that specific part anymore so the plan would not cover anything. This morning, we had Consumers Energy send someone over to fix our dishwasher and we were just told that the cost of repair is more expensive than a replacement, so they would not cover it!!! What have we been paying into if they won't fix anything? No, we do not have the "Platinum replacement program" but at least do something! Our thousands of dollars we have paid over the last decade are sitting in some account gaining interest for their company, and when I cancel the program, which I WILL, all our money just disappears. I am so frustrated I want to cry. #ConsumersEnergy
Jeremy Roth: I have to give credit where credit is due. My neighborhood recently had new gas lines and meters installed in the fall and I had been experiencing issues with my stove and furnace since. Finally called Consumers to check the lines and meter and they were out same day. The tech immediately noticed a drop in line pressure and replaced the meter with no avail. She called a digging crew and they were out to my house not even an hour after she called. Digging crew found the issues relatively quick and had my stove and furnace back up and running in no time. Unfortunately they had to tear a portion of my lawn and sidewalk, but they are planning to repair in the spring time. Extremely professional crew as well. A+
