Called Todd in the morning and 3 hours later he not only deliverd but set it in place.

Chris Runde: Staff is very nice and accommodating. There is a big variety of sports you can play here and they have a lot of fun, drop in mixers. My only complaint would be that the courts sometimes get condensation, but they will turn on the fans/heat for you to help with that.

Hannah N: I recently got a membership here to play racquetball. I've gone a few times and will continue to go. It's not your modern state of the art facility but what they lack in that arena, they more than makeup for it in friendliness, authenticity, community orientation and helpfulness. From when I walked in to make an enquiry, I felt welcomed and encouraged. My observation of members is that they feel right at home here. Yes appearance does matter and it gets too cold for me sometimes but I had the choice of a modern gym and this one and I chose this one. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for.

Looks like a county jail rec room minus the Oakland inmates v. Macomb inmates tournament. Although it doesn't sound like a bad idea to throw on a striped jumpsuit and run around the court playing wallyball in leg irons and belly chains. Might even be a better time. I don't consider the $7 an entry fee, I consider it posting bond.

We found inappropriate one of the ladies crew member using profanity and telling the guest to wear one piece swimsuit instead of two, while making fun of her. Swimming pool and whirlpool are often out of order or closed. They contact us with offers to add our family members to our membership, but there is no way we could even consider that the way things are.

According to LA Fitness logic, the platform that is designed to take the impact from thousands of pounds of weight will get damaged from chalk and benches.By adding this policy LA Fitness management proved they are star graduates of clown school and can never be taken seriously again.I cancelled my membership on the spot. I was a loyal gym goer, reracked my weights, encouraged people to come to LA and used liquid chalk so there’d be little to no mess.Now there will be less wear and tear on the equipment meant to be worn and torn because I will not ever go near this gym again. Enjoy pristine equipment with less profit!

Chyna Racine: My least favorite LA Fitness. The place had an overwhelming smell of musk as soon as we hit the door. The majority of the cardio machines are extremely worn and/or dysfunctional. The staff is not friendly and very nonchalant. Unfortunately, my husband really hurt himself while on the leg press. He tried to walk it off and had a seat at one of the other machines nearby, and fainted moments later. The young and dumb crowd/gym members couldn't care less, and told the front desk that someone was having a seizure. The front desk attendant casually walks up to us as my husband lays on the floor and begins asking questions like, "What's going on?" etc. If you thought someone was having a seizure, why didn't you run and show some sense of urgency? I guess they don't get paid enough for that...There were other staff members that went about their closing duties and not once came to check on us. After I called 911, I advised the attendant to go up front to flag the ambulance, which he did. Once he was taken away on the stretcher (barely able to walk without assistance), I had to ask one of the other unconcerned staff members to get his jacket from the locker inside the men's lockeroom. I didn't know which locker, so he immediately made it seem like an impossible task. After his first attempt, I insisted that he check again, and he did and finally found it. Again, lacking urgency and real concern.I am so disappointed with this experience and as a whole. We will never ever go back to this sad excuse of a gym and will be escalating this complaint.

Abdullaah 27: They were advertising a free workout with a personal trainer, so I decided to register. It wasn’t working on the app, so I decided to go in person and sign up. The front desk directed me to a young gentleman on the side. He booked a 50-minute session with a certified personal trainer for the next day at 10:30. The next day I come in and asked the front desk about my session; they said the personal trainer doesn’t come in until after 11:00. I came back after 11:00, but the personal trainer still wasn’t here so the gentleman that booked my session yesterday said that he would be my “trainer” for the day. Everything was going well. The workout was basic, and he complimented me on my form. At the end of my workout, he told me to meet him at the his desk and he was going to go over a plan for me. After reading from a script about the benefits of a personal trainer, he asked me if I was interested in hiring a personal trainer. I politely declined. He then started pressuring me by saying things like the gym is a dangerous place, most people don’t achieve their goals and work themselves to insanity at the gym etc. I firmly told him that I wasn’t interested because the lowest price to hire a personal trainer was close to my car payment. This caused him to become angry and unprofessional. He said I didn’t know what I was doing and my form was bad. Once he realized that I wasn’t going to hire a personal trainer, he told me have fun working myself to insanity. In conclusion, the staff in charge of selling their services act nice, but when you don’t want to buy their service, they become rude and unprofessional.

The fact my property taxes are 5 grand a year but yet they still want us to PAY for a monthly membership to swim at the pool is absolutely ridiculous. They said they changed it after the pandemic but what does the pandemic have to do with it? A complete disgrace to all warren and sterling heights residents.

They are SO strict about everything and always blowing their whistle etc. It's kind of an odd place. The mayor should really get involved, because the staff especially pool staff are very rude.

Conor Garvey: I’ve been going to Eastside for a long time, and I love it here. Staff is great, the facilities are top notch and I love the new soccer field they put in. However, I can’t wrap my head around the mind-boggling decision to close the gym from 12-4 during the summer. I’m sure that this is a time where many other people are able to get in a workout due to work breaks or scheduling, but the gym being closed makes absolutely no sense. Having this time blocked out also cramps up the gym in the time that it IS open because it forces more people into a smaller time frame. At the end of the day, Eastside is a great place and I love it there but I just cannot understand this decision.

Ian Studders: Solid and small-ish local tennis club. Lacks a couple amenities that larger, traditional suburban athletic club might have (pool, sauna, etc). However, from a tennis standpoint Eastside is great. Good leagues, pros and USTA options. Good kids programming. Affordable and fairly priced. New ownership is making many key updates and improvements to the facilities. Exciting time to be a member.

The pro shop is on the smaller side but they have everything, and if they do NOT have it, they will get it for you. This place is a Hidden Gem on the Eastside. The Gym is super clean and they use the IQ air to circulate and clean the air in there. I am super excited to try the golf simulator.

I was there a month and not ONE facility member spoke to me until a trainer was rude to me! Terrible customer service and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! And I'm a certified trainer and have been in gyms for over 20 years!

ryan reynolds: This place looks like it will be a great gym. They have a great selection of equipment and the movie theater inside with cardio equipment is genius. This will really help get those people who may not have wanted to go before. The staff seemed very friendly and they even have a place you can take your kids. They make it really easy to be able to get to the gym taking care of the things that may have stopped you in the past.

hali fortuna: Great monthly membership deal and everything is included (classes, guest pass) if you choose the Total plan (top tier). Love that there's a women only section but I wish they had a lot more machines in there. It's great though when the main gym area gets crowded and machines aren't free. Locker area and showers are always clean. Classes have great teachers and only once there was an issue with the microphone not working during a class for a teacher; so it was difficult to hear them and follow along.

Zaynah Tripp: Very disappointed in this gym.In January I went up to this location to let them know that I was no longer interested in continuing my membership after the year. I spoke to a man at the front desk, and he assured me that after my February payment (making it a year) I would not be charged for the gym membership.On March 10th, the membership came out. I called up to The Edge to explain what happened in January, come to find out you can’t cancel like that. You have to cancel through a third party. I was told by Neil, that I would have to call that third party to cancel so it can show up on his end so he can issue my refund. He told me to get back to him on Monday, March 13th so he could check and issue the refund.I did my part. I called the third party on Friday, March 10th and they told me to email a written statement saying I want to cancel my membership. I did.Today, Monday March 13th, I call Neil. I call up to the club 3 separate times. Time number one (9:45am) , “He just stepped away.” Time number two (12:45pm), “He is in a meeting”. Time number three (3:08pm) “He is not in the building at the moment.” Neil has not returned my call and it is now 5:00pm.I am very displeased with this whole situation and wish the gentleman in January was up front about how to cancel the membership correctly so this wouldn’t be happening. That bill was not cheap and definitely not expected to come out. Now my call isn’t being returned? Just very disappointed.UPDATE: March 22, 2023I spoke with Neil on Tuesday (3/14/23 at 3:17 in afternoon) in regards to my account. He said that he would issue my refund and it should take 3-5 business days. It is now business day 6 and still nothing in my account. Not pleased at all. If you plan to attend this gym, make sure you’re getting all the information needed so you don’t end up in a situation like this.

Bianca Patterson: I wish i could give this place 0 stars. I have been a member for a little over a month now. I’m so upset I didn’t come and look at the reviews before hand. The sauna that has been broken since before the day I signed up for the gym is still broken almost 3 months later. Now to learn that’s it’s been broken for atleast 6 months and they only give you 3 days to cancel your memebership is insane. Why am I paying for amenities that anyone can go into the gym and use at a higher rate?. They don’t monitor anything at this gym nor do they keep up with the things that are broken. Save your money and sign up to another location or simply get the cheapest membership because they allow the entire gym to use all the paid for amenities. My best advice would just be to RUNNNNN from the entire establishment if you’re actually looking to use the gym for everything it has to offer. I now see why lifetime charges so much for a membership. It’s actually worth it to pay a little extra if you’re looking to avoid hassle and being stuck in a memebership that you’ve been trying to get out of since 2 weeks of going.

Jean-Paul Valintino: I was one of the many first to join this gym. For the first 5 month's the gym was great, all the original staff were great. Then, after around 6 months, it all went downhill. The amount of kids that work there is ridiculous. I see these young personal trainers who think they are the business. Training their clients and constantly taking selfies or on their phones whilst training their clients. Most of them have no idea about the client/ trainer etiquette all they care about is ' hey, look at me !! ' One of their trainers called Liz thinks she's better than everyone. I'm glad I canceled my membership and opened my own gym. I've been in this industry 23yrs and trained all over the world and this gym is no different to most corporate gyms.

The most recognize subject is they have hidden fees which they keep it out of costumer knowledge. Also they charge two times annual fees for the same family members. When I called one supervisor under the name of Bryan, he was very rude and refused to consider my son as a family member for me.

Anica Burns: Usually people reach out to complain but i wanted to reach out to leave some positive feedback. My husband, 3 kids and I are members at the Warren , MI location. It has been hard to find a gym that our kids love and don't give us a hard time about going to when we want to work out. There is one particular coach in the edge kids room that our kids have built a "friendship " with. Our kids age 5, 4, & 1 look forward to going to the gym because Coach Cole always interacts with all of them and has grown to know each of their personalities. Our 4 year old is autistic and coach Cole has helped our child feel safe at the gym even when there are over a dozen kids in the small area. My 4 year old doesn't always like to play the same games/activities as the other kids and not pressuring my son has made my son feel safe. (Other gyms have made him feel unsafe by pressuring our son into things he doesn't want to do which then made our son not want to go back to the next day.) I cannot thank this coach enough for making our whole experience of going to a gym an easy task because of the relationship he has built with our kids

john radtke: Gym is awful. I had hip surgery continued to make me pay per month for my gym membership that I can’t use. The managers did not want to speak with me and I was required by my doctor to refrain from physical activity for 2 months. I tried to see if I could get back into the gym on the 1st of the month to see if I could do the bikes. All of them were too high and had too much range of motion. They will not give me my money back and had terrible customer service. The manager Aaron was especially rude and claimed he talked to me when he did not. I wasn’t even allowed to explain my side of the story. Beyond the worst experience I’ve ever had at a gym. Do not sign up for a crunch membership, they’re terrible.

David Beasley: I love working out at Crunch, the atmosphere is welcoming and it’s super clean with a wide variety of equipment. Training with Jeff has been dope as well I’m seeing all sorts of strength gains and really knows his stuff. Couldn’t recommend it more if I tried!

Justin Jones: Visiting from Japan and did the one day trial. Spoke with the owner and got signed up. He toured me around the gym and showed me around. The gym looks great and seems well maintained. I didn't notice an area for stretching which would have been nice but otherwise it was an awesome experience. I'll be back in summer.

Carson Simpson: The best gym in the Detroit area by far. Also, one of my favorite gyms I’ve ever visited regularly in all my travels. The staff is top notch but most importantly, the patrons for the most part practice gym etiquette and it is not usually very crowded. Most other gyms in town are just hangouts, people go to Golds to put in work.

Tim Patru: Pleasantly surprised! I was visiting from out of state and stopped in to get some cardio. Was not expecting much for a gym in the Detroit area, but found the place to be extremely clean and well kept. Locker room, sauna, and shower were likewise very clean. Lots of weights and machines to choose from, as well as a boxing ring and multiple punching bags which I have not seen at other Gold's locations.The owner was at the front desk during my visit and super friendly and personable. He didn't give me any problem whatever despite my membership being at another location.Highly recommend! Would definitely come here if I lived in the area.

Eriyon Adams: Terrible gym. This gym is very ghetto and unprofessional. People here don't know how to act. People be standing around hogging weights. The owner Don is so unprofessional. One time I was thinking about what weight to put on the machine. He had the nerve to say "the machine is empty you can use it." Then you have people's kids running around the gym and being in the way of people working out. Only good thing about the gym is the punching bags. But I will never come here again.

KevinM. Cooper: I moved to the Detroit area in August of 2020. I was a member of Golds gym in SC, so I decided to keep the trend going here. Don and his team take great care of his facility. More than enough equipment to get yourself together. Don, and his team treat people like family. I’ve been in some corporate gyms where you are just a customer. Definitely not the same vibe here. I can see Don cares about people. Not only will i be leaving Michigan soon, I’ll be leaving a gym that feels like family. Great job Don, and his team!!!

Raven Mitchell: This gym is an athlete’s dream come true!! In response to my online inquiry, I received a personal welcome message from the owner with membership info and a free visitors pass. As soon as I set foot in Gold’s I felt like a kid in a candy store. ALL of the fitness equipment is immaculately maintained with care and the resistance machines are actually laid out in a way that makes sense—one of my biggest pet peeves in commercial gyms. First impressions are everything and Gold’s nailed it. The receptionist was delightful and Women’s locker room was very tidy. If I could give MORE than 5 stars I would!! Thank you Don and staff!

Carolyn Minter: I didn't like the atmosphere. I went in there one time and did not like it, it was dreary. The owner also seems to be very messy and unprofessional. Arguing with the customers in the comments looks very bad. Your job is to accommodate the consumer as much as possible. No lies were told about how there's little sneaky hidden fees, or that, some of these businesses make things appear one way when all actuality they're hustling the customer. A spooky, dreary den for a gym, and a confrontational, poor behaving, angry, combative owner, is enough to keep me at LA Fitness.

I also seen, where the lady Kiara left a note about scammer, and I can see that being true as well. Planet Fitness did something similar to me, and ever since I been leery. Something else I learned, don't give these people your main bank account information, have a back up account. Shout out to Capital One, because they will kick whose dinging your account out of the system. They will not have access to your account anymore. These folks will keep dinging your account after what they said was month to month. Coming from Texas I was looking for a gym, but I better keep looking from these comments I've seen.

Kiara Altman: BEWARE! They are deceiving and scammy. I will attach all of my proof such as receipts/ emails and their “No Contract” paperwork they falsely advertise. I am so disappointed in this gym. A long story short, I received a phone call 2 days ago from a debt collector saying I owed them $450 for a past due balance I owed to this gym and that they would report the delinquency on my credit report. He even tried discouraging me from contacting the gym directly to rectify the issue. (I’ll attach his information as well). I tried asking why and how I owed this money because my daughter had only been to this gym twice and we paid for the one month she’d gone. I only agreed to let her go there for the one month because she needed something to do before softball season started last June. The lady Madison who signed her up (and the owner Don was there as well) said there wouldn’t be an obligation, it was month to month. The next month I received a phone call saying that my payment couldn’t process. I explained to them that my daughter would no longer be coming and that Madison told us if we don’t pay we don’t have a membership because it’s month to month. I was told the membership was canceled. My mom and several other family members continued to go for a few more months and once again Madison confirmed the membership was cancelled. I spoke with Ally from Gold’s gym yesterday and she confirmed that yes my mother and 4 other family members’ memberships were cancelled but they never cancelled my daughter’s. Also, confirming my daughter had only come there twice the first month. She told me to speak with the owner Don today to get help. Don called me this morning and requested I pay the $75 fee from having the debt collector call me and confirm, and I quote, “the debt collector must have tacked on a damn fee of their own because I’m showing a balance of $248.” I explained the situation again and he said, “I have $18,000 worth of debts from people and I’ve heard every excuse.” I once again tried to explain to him that I am one person and that grouping me isn’t fair and bad for business because it shows I’m just another number to him. I even offered to pay the $40 monthly fee because he said to cancel you have to do it within 30 days so I would’ve had to owe that anyway. I also tried explaining that I shouldn’t be responsible for his employee’s mistake for not cancelling. He rudely said that his employee “has been working here for 2 years and knows how to cancel accounts, it takes 1 second.” And that moving forward he will require customers to email the cancellations for proof but he wasn’t going to “eat everyone’s cost” even though he was going to “write off the balance with his taxes.” Furthermore, this gym is a rip off and I advise you get a real contract and read the fine print carefully because according to Don, “they have no contracts just agreements.” Legal jargon and scammy wording at its best- you sign up- you agree to pay even if you cancel.
