Alfred Brock: The Nolar Bend Recreation area is a spacious location.  There is a small children’s play structure in an open field.  There are picnic tables at the edge of the area.  There is plenty of parking.  It is maintained well.The river runs close by here and there is indeed a bend in the river.  It is the Rouge so caution must be taken near the water.  Some of the banks are high and the bottom of the river is uncertain with sandy areas interspersed with mud.  It is a beautiful river.  Just treat it with respect.  Check for any notices about water contact.It is a great place for photography, Frisbee, picnics and other outdoor activities.“You and your team can experience the thrill of victory at Nolar Bend Recreation Area this season. Amy Brune: They have made so many improvements. So many fun things for families to do. The water is not safe to swim in but, the splash pad and pool are available in the summer. I walk the dog around the paths nightly, and the park is wonderful for the kids.

Rishikesh Nalapur: Wow ! Such a nice lake with so many fun things to do. The beach was clean and was not crowded at all!! We didn’t expect a lot from this place but ended up spending almost 3-4 hours … the play area is great and there is ample parking space …

Ashley Jerzewski: Love this park. Great for walks in the evenings. Our little ones enjoy the playground. There is something for every age there. Splash pad is so much fun in the summer.We recently tried out the pickleball court and those are very well taken care of. The restrooms near the courts are the best in my opinion.The nature center is so cute, I definitely recommend visiting that with the kids.Restrooms: There are a few different bathroom locations with running water.

Jackie Morley: I’ve lived in Harrison Twp for over 30 years and have watched them develop the park over that time.PRO: great location for running, biking, nature walks etcCON: summertime is crowded with tourists and non-locals that jam up 16 mile and SPEED which KILLS OUR TURTLES AND OTHER WILDLIFE!!! I see the gofers and deer on a daily basis so it makes me sick to my stomach when people fly down the entry road which ranges from 15-25 MPH!!! Ugghhh!!! Also the water is filthy with ecoli and such-probably should’ve started there.

Sarah Stewart: Been going to Stony for years. There’s a lot of different things to do. They have kayak rentals, places for the kids to play, a nature center, trails and more. It’s the perfect place to just get away for a while.

Tracy Garbacz: Really nice park to visit as well as very large. Has two different beaches and the trails are really nice too. Be aware of ticks during the summer, especially in the northern trails just north of the Nature Center.

Calla Cobb: Beautiful park with plenty to do. The nature center has some beautiful trails to walk. If you love disc golf the course here is great. Has a nice mix of wooded and open holes. Take your choice of beaches they are all beautiful.Playground: All the park playgrounds are well kept and very fun to play on for kids of all ages.Restrooms: Went disc golfing on a cold day in May and the restrooms were very clean and nice and toasty inside.Dog-friendliness: The dog park here is great, it is a huge fenced area for your dog(s) to run in. Of course outside of the dog park they ask that you keep your pet leashed. Overall a great experience was had at the dog park.Picnic area: Picnic areas are well maintained and you have a choice of full sun or shade at just about every picnic area. Tables and areas around them are kept clean which makes for a nice picnic experience.

Pankaj Dash: Nice place for hike and bike. Biking trails are awesome. One bad things about the park is, there is a shooting range within the park limit, and you will hear the shot while hiing. It is a very very weired thing that park authority try to justify why this is okay to the animal.

Joe O'Dell: No dogs allowed in Nature center . It's a nature center there is some wildlife and that's why leave your pets at home . The nature has restrooms that are available even when the center is closed .

Lisa (The Sterling Critic): Always a nice clean park to have miles and miles of fun. Lots of beaches lots of trails. In the summertime the main beach has a waterslide and paddle boats kayaks canoes, bike rentals, and they even have concerts there and movies.
