Jimma Lee: You literally have to ask them. When did they cook their food because they are good for serving and selling old food that was made for five days ago. and asked nicely because the young ladies at the front seem to be very irritated about being at work just because it’s a family business does not mean you have to treat people like your broke down Cousin. It’s always a hit or miss with them and they don’t seem to care, so that’s why I say just ask when did they actually cook the food to really enjoy it. But my oxtails were tasteless and my greens were dirty and had absolutely no flavor. They are two out of 10 attempts 2 being good. Mac was dry. But like I say on a fresh Made day, they’re pretty decent.

Dee Dee: I was trying to give a new restaurant a chance! I called 5 times they wouldn’t answer so when I got there at 713 exactly they said you can get what’s in the window because we close at 8 lol 45 minutes is plenty of time to make some wings but ok keep playing on your phone! I won’t be back!!

Macaroni and cheese was incredibly bland no flavor,I'd suggest more flavorful cheese and seasonings. Baked chicken was dry. Oxtails were good but basic. Overall. 3 out of 10 for this place.

Jemika Johnson: Listen do not let the review’s distract you from this wonderful place I’m from Ohio and was looking for some Soul food and came across this place it’s Rare I give a food place a 10/10 but this place is well deserving The food had so much flavor The wait wasn’t long (it was worth the wait) the price wasn’t crazy and the quantity of food is worth every penny it was fresh it was hot . I ordered the Smothered Turkey chops Dinner and hands down some of the best I’ve ever had I would drive up to Michigan just for this food the cake was moist the kook aid was perfect 10/10 service . Only thing I was disappointed in that there was No greens or banana pudding but the cabbage and cake made up for it Lol if u haven’t went yet I don’t know what u waiting on I will return …

Wilson Family Won: I usually go to Lape and 7 and Van Dyke, I went to this one and was very disappointed, don't like the rib tips they use, OxTails was Def flavorless and needed to be cooked longer it was tuff, no gravy, and I didn't get to the red beans and rice til the next day, after putting in the fridge I put them in the microwave this morn and it taste very spoiled, I need 7 mile lape back please.

Was recommended by a friend of my travel partner and we stopped on our way to the airport I'm so sad I had to get rid of the rest of it because of the airport restrictions. Will definitely be visiting this place again next time I am in the area.

Heard they opened this location and it was “delicious” I decided to try it in hopes it would be much better than before. Once again I was disappointed. I got a fried wing dinner with Mac and yams. The yams were okay and the cornbread was ok. I wouldn’t even say good, just okay, not nasty but not anything I would go back for. The chicken was undercooked, pink in the middle, there was no type of seasoning on it at all. Going to a SOUL FOOD restaurant, you would think they season the meat. It actually tasted nasty like the grease was old and they fried it in the same grease they fry fish in. I tasted a hint of fish when I took my second bite then stopped eating it. I am severely allergic to fish. I’m glad I didn’t have a reaction to it. I had a family member try it and they said it tasted like fish also. They didn’t offer me any type of dipping sauces either. The only reason I’m giving one star is because the sides were decent. I will not recommend this place to anybody in the future. Especially this being the second visit I’ve had and been disappointed both times.

_MyNaturalCurls: Their food has been really good the couple times that I have had it. However, they are never open according to their hours anymore. I called one day and was placed on hold and then the phone hung up. I called back again to place an order not even an hour later and they were closed. It wasn’t even 7pm yet which is when they’re supposed to close. I called another day and they were closed. I went to look at their hours and an additional day had been added to their closed days. Now, I’m looking again today and a fourth day has been added to their closed days. Their service is becoming really bad.

Karla Robertson: I have had the Mac n cheese, string beans, and dressing.. They were very good, but I’m sitting here in their parking lot at a time they should be open, and they are closed. This is not the first time that has happened. I called their number and they say they are closed with no explanation of why. That’s so frustrating. Another lady in the parking lot with me was even more frustrated because she had driven a lot farther to get here. I would just suggest that you are open during your posted store hours or give a reason why you’re not open.

Prices are appropriate for the portions. There wasn’t a long exaggerated wait like other spots. Front counter lady is very nice on phone & in person. Restaurant always has a simple yet CLEAN look!

Alanis Soul Food 8s the exception to that rule. I ordered Catfish, colored greens, baked beans and corn muffins.... and Turkey and Dressing with Green Beans....This food was STELLAR!!!! SO DANG GOOOOOOD!!! Thank you for the amazing meal. I will definitely be ordering from you, again.

Geraldine Reynolds: Do not order on uber eats! Pricing is outrageous for what you get. Everything is priced a la carte (separate) glazed salmon was good per daughter but for $16 should come with a side or two. I didn't receive the mashed potatoes at all that I ordered for her. The sides we ordered tasted like canned, black eye peas, green beans, and corn...that was supposed to be on the cob. The soul food shawarma wasn't wrapped properly and stuff was oozing out the back. Taste on it wasn't bad per hubby, but execution was not good. Why was there lettuce and tomato and pickle on it? (SOULFOOD SHAWARMA) The highlight of my meal was the fried chicken wings! AND the peach cobbler!!!They're good, I would try them again but definitely not on uber eats. Good luck!!! Oh I forgot to mention price on my order was better than $80 with a discount. Came back to say I thought the peach cobbler was great!!! Had to edit.

Ariee Duhh: I ordered from here on UberEATS I literally never heard of them and that soul food shawarma caught my eye! So I ordered that and the salmon croquette dinner. The Shawarma was absolutely delicious plus it was buy 1 Get 1 Free!! Now the salmon croquette on the other hand was just a NO for me which I was excited for too! It was way too much sauce with no taste! Not gonna lie tho I'm thinking abt ordering it again to make sure I'm not tripping cause that shawarma was too fire for the dinner to be awful!
