Warren Civic Center Library: what do users think?
Laurie Lee: Very poor WIFI. pricey copies. Children allowed to run around and shout.
daniel j. kunnath: Great place to always spend the National Day of Prayer...Mayor Jim Fouts is the BEST!!... I prayed today that Mayor Fouts would continue to be our mayor, and solve the issue of term limits, he is facing. All faiths together...together...God always wins over evil with such a wonderful, large group of prayerful people coming together.
Don Klaser: Went to the library.
Sofía Syntaxx: Valerie at the front desk helped get my patron account sorted so that I could use the Hoopla app to access materials online. She was very friendly and patient as she took care of my situation. This is a really lovely library with lots of natural light and spaces to lounge.I especially like that the Warren Public Library Civic Center Branch offers a ring-tag card I can keep on my key chain so I always have it for those impromptu stop-ins!
Diane Pearson: Beautiful spacious Library. Reserved a meeting room which was perfect. Great experience and friendly staff.
Heather Slayton: New designated ballot box installed in front of city hall. 💖
Diane Merian: Easy to park and visit.Everyone so helpful and friendly.
Chloe Gregory-Pendley: Dead silent, if that's your thing. Went on a Thursday night to work on a group project and was asked to leave by a patron across the room because I guess our barely-audible whispering was too disruptive (we were so quiet I could hardly even hear my partner less than 2 feet away from me). Yes, this is a library and it's supposed to be quiet, but it's not a dedicated silent area (like University libraries have a dedicated silent floor). Never been in a library so quiet that setting down my binder felt disruptively loud.Library fulfills the need of a silent study space but not the community need of a place to work on group projects together. We could have reserved a room but the application process is a bit cumbersome for a small group.
Kathrine: my favorite place in Warren
Chris Michalec: Great place for learning!
Sue Foster: The staff is always available to help, the library has so much to offer in addition to books. Good hours and convenient for my needs!
Scott Soucy: I always find something new to read, and they always track down any special requests that I have, whether it's a book, CD or DVD. The staff is always a pleasure to deal with! I'll be stopping by this week to pick up another special request!
kristina Huey: Had to visit the clerk's office and it was super quick. Sometimes the lines are a tad long which makes your wait times longer but they are always quick, helpful, and professional.
Paul T: The clerks office is always a pleasure to work with. And the Ladies in the cashier are great too!
Love Cats: If you're late and you get library fines of more than $5.00 you'll be told you can't check anything out until it's paid. Then you'll get your account Blocked and won't be able to check out anything or put anything in Hold online or in person. When you get fined and don't pay it, and a few months or more pass then unexpectedly an additional $10 fine will be accrued for sending the patron bill to collections. I had to pay my fines or else never get a chance to check out anything again. I'm on Disability and that's so unfair and a bit greedy.
April Durecki: Worst library ever, rude employees and scammy will do whatever it takes to damage out a book that's perfectly fine.
Ashley: This library will literally charge you for a returned book claiming "its damaged out" when it is fine. I literally never even took the book out of the bag and returned it before I even got a chance to read it. Apparently this is so damaged of a book that can't be put back in circulation.
Twincutie Hansen (Twincutie02): Yes the staff is friendly. The post on here must be worker or relatives. The library does not really meet the needs of people who going to college. Please update this library very old school. This is an outdated library..old school, I will continue to use my friends library in Sterling heights.
Michael Piusinski: Great place. Huge library and a great selection! Great staff also
Edmond Perry: Got a library card and checked out a few CD's and video games.Good feeling going into the library again.
Margaret Giordano: This is a wonderful library. The staff are lovely and so helpful. Wouldn't change a thing. A happy place to be.I LOVE libraries......every single one.

Maybelle Burnette Library: what do users think?
Msjawanda: Helpful as usual💜
deshawn rayford: Small but very nice the staff is pleasant and nice to
David K.: Nice ladies
Robert Andrews: Great little park for the younger kids. Clean and usually dry from any rain or snow.
Theresa Miranda: Clean. Helpful. 👍
Antoine Pickens: This is a very nice library! Staff is informative, friendly, and engaging!
Scott Soucy: First time I visited this new library location. Small, but pretty good selection of books and other media. Found some good new cookbooks on this visit.
Diane Merian: CleanStaff friendly and helpful.
Ann Kulczycki: Craft night. It was great.
Stephie Corpse: This library is indeed small but whenever I went there staff has always been polite, so helpful, and always being friendly ro whoever enter the building. Helped out whenever I needed to look for something. And they keep the inside just as clean as the outside. Remember folks, treat others how you want to be treated. Be rude get rude back simple huh?
Sonia George: This is a very nice and clean library. I like to often come here and study. However staff always allow this lady who appears to be homeless enter the building; carrying a suitcase and empty dirty cans. This is very unsanitary. I was sitting in the back area she arrived, drinking a can of pop rudely burping, I told the Librarian how I was there to study and was being distracted, I was asked to move. So unfair if this lady was African American she would have been escorted out of the library but she was white and I’m black, so I had to move.Still injustice in 2021.
Yolanda Wright: First time. Very clean peaceful. Staff very helpful
torion313704: The employees were polite and helpful
DeAnne Singleton Singleton: Very helpful and friendly service
BOKANI GROUP Real Estate and Property Managment: Great location- very friendly staff 👍
Kevin Brooks: Great service, and Really nice people 😃
Deborah Duck: Good clean. The staff very helpful. Covid 19 precautions taken.
pebblesctd D.: The staff is very nice and extremely patient and helpful with my excited 5 year old and I.
Kristel Ezell: I made a mistake and left my library card at home and asked the Librarian was it possible if she could pull my information up in the system to prove that I do have one. Very rudely she says I need your ID. On the front of my ID I have my physical address, and on the back is my mailing address. She immediately says I can't use the ID because it has Detroit on the back. I tried to explain to her the situation and she continued to say that I can't use their computers. I told the Librarian I was not there to use the computers in a very polite manner and she simply gave my card back as if she did not want to hear anything else. She refused to even look me up in the system. I think that was very rude and disrespectful. I am trying to utilize the library to assist my daughter with a book report and would've even copied the pages, but instead of servicing me she was a disservice not to just me but my daughter as well. I believe they need to be trained on customer service because it was one of the worst experiences I had by far.
YVONNE HARRINGTON: Desk staff was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. The new building is very clean and organized. Will refer friends to go there in a heartbeat!
Jim Stryker (Kergillian): It's a nice little library conveniently located in south Warren. The staff is friendly, they have enough computers so there is never a wait. All in all it's a great place.

Arthur J Miller Public Library: what do users think?
Laurie Lee: Poor WIFI. Restrooms can be locked. Decent book selection. Closed Sunday
David D: I stopped by this library at least monthly because it’s one of my favorite libraries. Librarians are always helpful by answering questions patrons have like book locations. The librarians also assist with copying and scanning papers. Librarian assistants are always friendly and working on placing books back to appropriate shelves. Children area is such nice atmosphere and the library always keeps variety of toys neatly stocked and for sensory play and imagination. Computers offer children educational games. They have weekly toddler group where kids have fun singing and listening to stories read by staff. Helpful tip is to always try to park on Arden Road which is located on north side of the library so you have easy and close access to the entry door.
Sam T.S.: The staff was nice, the library itself was clean - however it wasn’t super quite (there’s a kids area in one of the corners) and the bathrooms in the hallway outside the library were notttt the best.
Sondra Carpenter: The workers are always very pleasant and helpful.
CHUCK NIP: $2 visitor card to use computers for 1 day.
Scott Soucy: Always a good selection of books and CDs, and the staff is better than at some of the other branches, especially Amy, who works at the information desk!
Rahida Chy: I would not even give them a star. Rude librarians. Not giving privacy at all. Looking through backpack pocket and assuming I was eating food based on empty zipper bag.b
Deborah Duck: Great service and a well equipped library.
Laurie Jablonski: Love the library
Ariana Love: library could be nice if the workers weren’t so rude!! Every time I come in it’s a terrible experience and everyone I have asked have said the same thing. It doesn’t take much to be nice and be an understanding person. They absolutely hate if you’re coming in 15-20 minutes before they close even if what you need to do takes 5. I have received attitude from the women at the front desk many times. If you’re open until a certain time, there is no reason for you to get angry. Absolutely rude people.
Shams Chowdhury: Great place. Lots of books. Separate area for children. Arrange many activities all over the year. Very very friendly stuffs. Helpful. You can use internet. Paid photocopy , prints and fax service. 👍👍👍
Karam arous: Very Rude..unfriendly staff..especially the lady in stuffs check out...she even doesn't have any experience in talking and dealing with kids..l will never take my kids there again..We are so disappointed.
Rebecca: Giving one star It was my first time and because children area librarian was very unfriendly and seem hysterical over some toys that were on the floor. Also been very rude about telling kids been to loud. These were toddlers and preschoolersIt overall a nice Library
Krysti Flynn: Awful treament by a short curly hair librarian at the desk talking to me like a 5 year old. I am Appalled at the lack of professionalism at this library.
Scott Larkin: Two individuals working on may 5 one unwilling to get off her seat and pointed me to a guy at the info desk who is making political cold calls instead of helping at the library just sad with tax paid city employeesGet paid for.
Bret Kuhnhenn: Great time for the kids
H Begum: It's legit.
Manar Masry: Friendly staff, clean, calm during the week, new library.I like it.Good for students and family. But if you prefer quiet library to study this is not the good choice, cause the children area is open and some kids are so noisy, you can't concentrate
lukasgorgis100: It's a great place, the staff are very nice and helpful
Kathryn Harris: Staff has been friendly. Kids section looks great, my two year old has lots of fun here. They also have a fish tank which is fun for kids to look at.
Raj Kumar: Awesome place for a good read or immense research online

Davenport University: what do users think?
Edgar Akkari: Absolutely ridiculous how they treat future students. Never reply to emails, don’t return phone calls, and they are very unprofessional when it comes to manners.
Mohammed Almalahi: I sent my high school transcripts to Jessica Cheriez and she told me I’m all set. She also ignored my emails I sent her regarding if I’m all set to go for the March semester. I’ve recently found out two weeks before school starts that my transcript was never received. I was told this by Lynn mills and she was very rude about it. Therefore I’ve decided to not come to this school it’s a joke.
Amr Khashafa: Lynne Mills came off very rude from the start. My friends and I wanted to join Davenport university. We talked to Jessica Cheriez and it went very well, until she ghosted us and didn't reply to our emails. We set a appointment with her yesterday and she didn't show up. We just found out that my friend's transcript didn't go through and theydidn't even say anything to us about it. Even though he sent it to Jessica, she didn't notify him that it has to be sent directly from his school. All three of us dropped the idea of coming here because this school is a wholebig red flag. This school is a joke. The reviews says it all.
Ibrahim Shohatee: If I could give this school negative stars I 100% would. The admission department isn't very helpful and it is very difficult to get ahold of them. I was enrolled into Davenport university for this March. I emailed Jessica Cheriez multiple times she ignored my emails. I’ve made an appointment with her and she was to busy I guess even tho we had an appointment that’s when I met Lynne mills and she came off very rude and aggressive with her tone. I wanted to ask her if I can switch my major but she wouldn’t let me finish talking so I kindly left the building. Super unprofessional I dropped all my classes for March and changing schools due to this unacceptable behavior.
Ladonna Lewis: Very happy with my time here at Davenport.
prathyusha davuluri: I was scheduled to give a Certification exam yesterday at this testing center and I find out that the building has been under renovation after arriving at the location. There was no one at the front desk so I had go inside the building looking for someone to talk to, and glad to find a couple of people who mentioned it to me. The phone calls continuously went to voice mail. I wish they had the decency to let people know about their situation at least through an email.
Alexandrea Fokken: If I could give this school negative stars I would. The admission department isn't very helpful and it is very difficult to get ahold of them. The financial department is useless. They will charge you extra for classes in the middle of semesters. I'm not going to name names but some professors will throw tantrums in the middle of class and fight with students over students thoughts. If you are in their nursing program, be ready to be belittled by staff and not scheduling clinicals or last minute paperwork that has to be done asap. Forget about being sick with a doctors note, I had so many classmates fail because they were sick, some even hospitalized. I did not have a good experience at all. My family even mentioned while attending the pinning ceremony that it was sad that they had to up lift themselves and never said anything about the students accomplishments. Oh and if a class is out of 900 points and not 1000 points you automatically get a grade lower than what is posted in blackboard. Clinicals are a jock, you don't learn anything and the teachers won't stand up for you to staff when they expect you to be more than you are suppose too. Teacher will continuously tell you that this is a job interview and you should be bending over backwards for the stafd. It is not a learning experience. Joke of a school. You are going to teach yourself more than the teachers will teach you. Beware I was told by staff I would not need to know things, and have it pop up on the nclex. They are setting you up for failure and did not give you the support you need to succeed.
Windex The pretty blue liquid: Davenport’s financial aid department is incompetent! People are constantly giving you the run around just to get you off the phone. I have nothing but problems with financial aid services, even the so called director doesn’t know what she is doing.
Tequan Hardy: Very friendly and helpful staff
Hope White: Davenport University is a friendly place to work and to attend school. Very pleasant environment. I have been employed at Davenport University for a little over a year now and I have enjoyed the journey.
Afzal Hussain: Surprisingly very green and clean lawn. I lay on it during the summer. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a student there though and I’ve lived around it for 2 years..
Angela Johnson: I must admit, this University have one of the most caring, flexible, knowledgeable, reliable, hands on, timely and committed Senior Advisor (Jessica Cheriez) you will EVER come in contact with. Based on my experience, Jessica consistently proves her self worth as a strong and effective leader whom cares about your education and drive to be successful on a continuous basis. Jessica; If you're reading this thank you for all that you do to make this University and their students highly ranked achievers.
Lois Pele: If you are looking to attend the nursing program here I am going to say, do not waste your time. This school is a complete joke. The advisor does not know anything, the nursing board does not care for your success, and there is no organization. This school is worth $10 not $5,000 a semester. You're better off applying somewhere else.
Melody Odum: I’m mad I have to give this school one star because they don’t even deserve that! I don’t recommend them at all. I was set up to attend another nursing school but spoke with a representative that made Davenport seem a lot better. So I applied to this school because they made it seem like it was a sure thing with getting accepted. I started taking general classes at the university that went towards my LPN program before it started. I was under the impression that this would establish a GPA for myself. I found out two weeks into my classes that they weren’t going to because they ended after the application deadline! I could have took those classes somewhere else for a much cheaper price! But I let that go and pressed through my classes. They told me that I had to score high on TEAS test and turn in my essay with references. I did all of the above and then some but still got denied over an issue with my transcripts. Then they made me request them to be sent over to say that yea we’re still not going to accept you. They were oh so helpful with getting me enrolled but when it came down to a simple error they don’t want to give me a call back or help me through it. They just said apply again next year. What makes you think I would want to return to this school??? This was absolutely devastating thinking that you had a plan to better yourself and it be shot down over something so little. It took me a while to be able to execute this. I wish I would have never wasted my time here. I gave up my spot at another school which pushes my graduation date back and now I have more student loan debt and out of pocket costs! A big part of picking a school is staff support along the way and after you’re enrolled here it’s clear you won’t get it. Don’t attend this school.
Jason Curtis: @Andaji Ghorardim - The issues you describe are inaccurate. Anyone who attends a university and has issues like that is partly to blame for the issues.Once you begin a program they have to continue to offer the classes so you may finish the degree they sold you. If you had to change curriculum maybe it was related to the "couple semesters" you took off? Anyway I dropped to half-time when I transferred to Davenport and within a year my program was no longer offered. Here a couple years later they are running a couple classes that were not even in the books any longer just for me so that I may finish my degree. By the way this happened at the CC I attended too. Programs change as the job market changes. They run programs they think are relevant to the job market at a certain time but since this always changes, so do their programs. Cant blame the school for that it is a business like any other and you don't sell things that don't sell for you. You get what you put in to your education. You can learn valuable information anywhere in any class if you apply yourself. That said. I still only gave DU 3 stars so why so low after defending them? There is some truth to DU maybe not being the best choice at least from my perspective. I hear the Grand Rapids and Lansing campuses are better for IT classes but at Warren and Livonia (metro Detroit) I have had a terrible experience. While they are offering me the classes I need they are offered in an external format (online). These are classes that I should be getting hands on with equipment in the classroom but instead I am at home reading books and faking lab work (could do all that on my own....). My experience with Cisco classes was far better at the CC I attended. Since DU costs twice as much, and its clear they do not spend the money on facilities, I just do not understand why this is the case.Overall I received the education I wanted but I would have had a better experience at another University. I am sure the Grand Rapids campus is okay but be leery of the metro Detroit campuses. Still I received my degree and I was employed already after receiving my Associates from CC. You can tell DU is trying to get better but they have quite a ways to go. Nonetheless I will graduate, I will be employed, I will receive my degree, and I learned something while I was here. As Andaji Ghorardim stated if you can you may want to weigh on other options. However if you are ready to apply yourself attend ANY university you can and I am sure will have success in your venture.Couple other notes, my adviser changed 5 times while I attended in 4 years so I think the staff sees this too. However the staff when there was helpful in terms of registering and scheduling of classes. Instructors were 50/50 in quality. For every good 1 I had I had a bad one too. Staff was not helpful when I voiced my need for equipment in my Cisco classes at first. After 3 classes without equipment I finally got another teacher who made sure equipment was brought from Grand Rapids to Warren so it was available. So speak up, you may improve things for other students and help DU see their faults. Remember you are a customer and they are getting thousands and thousands of your dollars so they should hear you out.
Andaji Ghorardim: Don't waste your hard earned money here. They keep changing the curriculam for each major on every other semester. Therefore graduating time going longer and longer. If you decide to skip couple of semester, you will be stuck here for another 1.5 years because the curriculam have changed by then. Their prices are going up and up and I was slammed with extra bills which they didn't mention on the intiial bill. Note to the future students, please keep track of your all financial data and spending, including financial aid and student loans, and the cost of tuitions and books. Have a seperate folders and it will save you a lot of headache. Job prospective is very low after you graduate from this non name brand univeristy. Better spend money on a community college and transfer to a reputable university. In this current bad job market in Michigan, this is the best you can do.
