We recently took our dog Raven in for dental surgery. The doctors and staff walked us through the process and called us during the surgery. Dr. Wilborn did a beautiful job. Thank you to everyone at Parkview for a beautiful job. Us animal owners thank you. Raven is home and feeling better already.

Sue Carls: I’ve been coming here for many years. I always have a positive experience. The receptionists are very helpful, the techs explain everything very well. Dr. Ohseki always takes time to love & pet my dogs. Yesterday I had Dr. Wiggans for the first time. She was lovely and friendly. Both doctors explain things and make sure to ask if I have any questions. The prices here are very fair.

Not only did they see her the following week, they were wonderful, kind and Kippa LOVED them! (Which means a lot because Kippa has a hard time with new people). Richard Bell: Very professional. Called here when my primary vet wouldnt even look at my dog for a ear infection for more then a month. Took a few day to be seen and solved the infection issue. Very fair prices and even brung my dog in a 2nd time after my primary vet again told me they couldnt see my dog for a month just to have them look at her paws incase of a fungus infection.

Charles Wolfe: Miss both Dr Green and Dr Leslie, but still recommend Abbey East.
Matt B: My wife took our cat in for a routine annual checkup. When she left the house she was totally normal and fine and I didn’t think anything of it. About an hour later I get a call from my wife saying our cat collapsed and she wasn’t doing well. They explained they were going to take her back and monitor her. We were worried something was wrong with her. However, come to find out she was fine. They charged us 300 dollars on top of the checkup for this! We are furious. They nearly killed my cat and then decided to charge us for it. I do not trust them at all and think something deeper is happening there. Needless to say I pulled our records and am finding a new vet. I would avoid this place like the plague.
Kat 22: Very thankful Dr. Gilchrist no longer works for Abbey. He’s seen on video abusing his rescue German Shepherd. It’s all over the news and online. He’s now practicing at Companion Animal Care in Shelby Township with his wife Janine Tryban. If you’re not happy with Abbey, definitely don’t go to Dr. Gilchrist! They need to take his license away. Shameful!
Sheila Herbert: I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance. I paid my deposit. I came to my appointment 25 minutes early and as i arrived I called to let them know I was here! When I called I was told that someone , not me, called them the day before and cancelled my appointment!I worked that day the so called appointment was canceled. I would never drive 40 minutes out of my way to show up to the appointment on time if I canceled the day before.The vet herself got on the phone and continued to accuse me of making the call to cancel. I have never dealt with such an unorganized unprofessional group of people in my life. I will bring my very sick dog to a respectful veterinarian that actually cares about her patients. If I could give zero stars I would!
Sandra Baird-peters: I spent a fortune on thursday for my pug that wasnt doing good. I have been with him for 20 years. The vet was suggesting I put him to sleep. But i needed to think about this and decided he wasnt going to make it. So i called they said they couldnt get him in. Even 5 minutes to get.my pug out of suffering. Then they said they was moving, so they wasnt able to take him in. So monday i will call an other vet.In april 1, 2022 he had a total senior work up and they said every thing was fine and healthy. Now he has tumors in his lung and i found a few more.

Red skelton: We have taken our puppy to Abbey east for about a year now with multiple appointments and have at times waited in their parking area sometimes 20 - 30 minutes recently we went for our appointment and due to construction traffic on Ryan rd we were 6 minutes late for our appointment to get our pet her shot the person at the desk was extremely rude and would not accept us saying we were over 5 minutes past our appointment and that if we didn’t like it we could go somewhere else. No concern for the customer and seemed annoyed and rather smug about treating a customer so poorly

Victoria Christensen: If I could give this dog hospital a zero out of ten I would. Terrible service that was handled by an employee named Ashley. To furthermore explain, I had an appointment this morning for my dog to receive his shots. I called twice, and no answer. Then I called a third time by this point I was six minutes late to my appointment and when I asked to get him they denied me because the “grace period is only five minutes long”. Remind you this was not my fault, considering I called twice before hand. Now, I asked if I could get him in at a later time, then denied me and told me they don’t have any open availabilities. So at this point I asked do you have any referrals, since he needs to get them done, she then said no we don’t. At this point I am extremely frustrated because they don’t know how to deal with situations in a professional manner and the attitude I was receiving throughout the phone call was disgusting. My mom and I have been going here for years and they have never been professional or even nice in that aspect. So if you come here for your dog I would highly recommend going somewhere else. For one, the staff is rude; second, the place is out dated and looks run down. I’m sure their are better places to take your dog then here. I’m sure no one would want to take their to a business that doesn’t even care. Overall, I will not be coming here with my dog or my business again.

I explained the situation, but the receptionist told me that the next available appointment she can schedule me for would be in 4 days. NEVER bring your pet to this place because you will regret it.

Deno DiBattista: I don’t usually ever make reviews, but I brought my puppy in for a second opinion on his sickness, (which I was super grateful they fit me in for a same day Apt considering I had called 30 other vets in the area & none could see me for at least a week) and Dr. Katie Lee was extremely AMAZING! She was helpful, informational, knowledgeable, upbeat, positive, and very warm. My dog can be a bit sassy, which he was at the time of seeing her (on top of not feeling well), but she handled him in the most warm and professional and comforting way. She put my mind at ease and offered me different options for his treatment/solution to our issue. Everyone I came in contact with at the office was beyond wonderful and I am actually going to be switching vets now so all 3 of my dogs will be going there from this point forward. Thank you so much warren woods vet hospital, I am so grateful to have found you guys!! :)

Emily Emerson: Warren Woods Veterinarian Hospital is one of the best locally! I had an emergency with my cat, and they were able to get him in same day within 30 minutes of me calling. The Dr. and vet techs were super caring with my kitty, and they had me in and out within the hour with medication and a diagnosis. I’ve called other local veterinarian offices and most did not give me the same urgency that WWVH did. I also had a small issue with my payment situation, and the receptionist was super patient with me as we worked to resolve the issue. I will not be taking my pets elsewhere in the future! Ryan Blizman: I've been here twice and they've been very good to my cat since I adopted her. She developed a respiratory infection shortly after I brought her home for the first time and they were able to put me at ease with a quick round of medication. I plan on returning for all my future kitty cat's needs!

Brittany Rettig: Sara and the girls were absolutely amazing with my dog. My husband and I have been trying to figure out what was going on with our dog and she was able to confirm our suspicions when our regular vet wanted to keep doing tests that kept coming up negative. Very friendly and professional, love the fact she gives explanations for what is going on and why she gave us the medications she did. Definitely coming back!

They put a board that they would give a $5 coupon for the next visit for the inconvenience.The next day I called and confirmed if they are open today and they confirmed until 7pm. I reached there at 6:25 and they were closed again!I drove 20 min each way for 2 days and wasted our time!Very much disappointed.

Dun Dun: Vet is super rude and highly unprofessional. All he cares about is money. Do not take ur pets there. It was my first and last time got charged $40 for no reason I thought he was due for his shots but I had to wait a week which is fine to me but I was in the office for under 5 mins all he did was weigh my puppy I even ask like is it okay if I don’t pay the $40 since it’s not fair. He didn’t care at all. The lady at front desk was nice but he was nasty. Do not go there

Megan: So, the person who answers the phones could use a bit of training in customer service but the vet saved my puppy's life. I woke up to my 3 month old puppy looking bloated. Her tummy was huge. After a quick internet search (thank you, webmd), I realized my pup was in serious trouble. I called Hoover Animal Hospital and they got her an appointment in under 2 hours. She was in danger of going completely septic and dying. The whole staff stayed late to perform an emergency surgery on my girl. It's been about a month and she's doing great. Besides a scar, you'd never know she had been so close to death. The doctor definitely saved her life. And on top of the great care, it was reasonably priced. I was shocked because our last vet was so expensive. Plus, I would've never been able to get her an appointment so quickly.The whole ordeal was scary. But the vet and his team did everything in their power to help my dog. And they didn't take advantage of us when it came to charging us for her care. I will always be grateful.

Angela P: I have been taking my dogs here for years. The main down side is the woman who answers the phone (and claims to be the office manager) is rude and has no business dealing with people. Every time I have scheduled, she's been rude. This time it was too much. I called to schedule my dog's annual appointment and asked if they still have any Covid protocols in place. Please keep in mind that I have no problem complying with whatever their protocols are, I just want to be prepared.When I asked, the woman responded with a loud sigh then said I was allowed to come in with my pet ONLY if I wear a mask. I told her I have no problem doing that but I do have a baby and he'd be with me and he's too young to wear a mask. Is that okay? She responded and said,"What's the alternative? Are you going to leave him in the car?" I said, "Of course not but is it okay for me to bring him if he can't wear a mask?" She said, "We don't expect babies to wear masks." Her tone the entire time was that she was annoyed that I called and she was irritated that I had questions. I found a new vet. I did call to complain but she said she's the office manager and the vet is in surgery (they always say that). I did tell her exactly why I am not bringing my pets there but it was clear that she didn't care. I have worked scheduling appointments so I'm always polite when I call places because I understand how that is. The only reason I kept going here is because I have a difficult dog and the vet and the assistant are able to handle her. She also blocked me from their Facebook page so I couldn't do a review there. She must have done it while I was on the phone which makes me think she gets complaints often.

Sara Lee: I called today to schedule an appointment for two cats to be treated for fleas and also see a vet, instead of giving me an appointment or quote for an appointment, the girl tried to sell me things to buy over the counter, after I had expressed that I didn't want to purchase anything. I just wanted an appointment. For my cats to see a vet and be treated for fleas with PRESCRIPTION medications. NOT OTC. Then she proceeded to tell me I need to fumigate my house, which I've done multiple times!! The fleas are so bad the stuff OTC doesn't work!! Horrible phone service.
Tiffany Brickey: The got me and my puppy in on an emergency visit. He was eating and not interested in food or water. Took him and we had an x-ray done and it looked like a shadow of paper or plastic! Took him the next day for surgery and the lab work came back as Parvo! They loaded him with fluids, gave me lots of meds to make him comfortable and they asked me to bring him back the next day for fluids. The entire staff was worried about him and helped me so much. He’s a BIG puppy and they are the first ppl not to doubt his age! (He’ll be 6 months in August and is already 60lbs-before getting sick!) The doc told me 3 days and he’ll be out of the woods and back to normal by Monday. He is back to normal on Sunday for the most part. They all helped so much and he will forever be in their care! 💜

This is the only vet I’ve ever been too that actually cares about the animals. He takes his time and is willing to do whatever it is you want. He’s not in it for the money he’s in it because he truly cares.
Courtney Sienkowski: It took me a year to be able to write this review. I took my long hair dachshunds to Hoover Road animal hospital for three or so years. My 12 year old dachshund needed a teeth cleaning and had bad teeth, I knew he would be having a couple teeth pulled. The vet did the blood test on Sammy, which is routine and he said Sammy’s calcium levels were elevated (I didn’t know what that really meant), but they moved forward with the cleaning anyway. What usually takes a few hours, took much longer. It was well after 6 that I took Sammy home. Half way through the day, the vet called me and said while the cleaning he noticed Sammy’s jam was broken, and asked me if I knew how. I didn’t. It was until a day or two later that the vet admitted he accidentally broke Sammy’s jaw during the cleaning. Sammy was NEVER the same. I eventually took Sammy back (regret that now) they did blood tests and found his calcium levels were extremely high. So they tested Sammy for cancer. Two weeks later I called about the results, and they said “oh no no one called you?”. Sammy had Parahyperthroidism, a cancer in his thyroid. We were terrified, and asked what our options are, the vet said Sammy is old and that we should just google it. Google it? We took Sammy to a different vet, who was very thorough and helped us through the process. Sammy ended up dying a few weeks later. While I don’t blame Hoover Road Animal Hospital for Sammy’s death, he took extra time away we could have spent with my best friend. I will never, ever, ever recommend this vet to anyone EVER. You took away my best friend who saved my life in more ways than one far too early. Shame on you all.
Apryl Faber: I have been visiting for almost 5 years, I love all of the staff, most importantly Carrie. When we first started going to them, we had just had a very bad experience with another place, so I was very nervous about letting my girls see a new person. When I called to make my first appointment, I was asking ALOT of questions and Carrie was very busy and could not answer all of them but promised to call me back when the phones stopped ringing and extra help was available. I thought at first, she was just brushing me off and I would never hear from her. To my shock about 2 hours later I got a call from Carrie, she spent a long time answering any questions I had but also listened to the ordeal that we had just delt with and reassured me my girls would be loved and cared for; from that point on I knew we had found our place to go. Then we met Dr Ioan, and the girls loved him so much, he always gets on the floor and talks face to face with them and makes sure they have treats as well. When we have had to have blood work done for them, he always calls to explain any unusual results, he is such a wonderful vet, and I am grateful to have him. I would love to tell you about the wonderful vet techs that also show so much love and kindness to our pups, but ain't nobody got time for that :)I will continue to go to Hoover Road Animal Hospital as long as I have fur- babies, I thank them for everything they have done for my family; I am so grateful it was Carrie who answered that first phone call so many years ago :)
Peter Murphy: This place is awesome. My wife and I have been taking our dogs there for 5 years. We had went to another vet previously and they acted like it was more of a business than them actually caring for my pets, or at least pretending to. Carrie who is at the front desk has given us exceptional service whether on the phone or in person. Most of the veterinary assistants in the back are awesome too with very few exceptions. But most of those no longer work there thankfully. Dr. Ioan is very caring for all of the animals, not just ours. He is a boisterous man and he can be heard from the other exam rooms. They do not try to talk you in to procedures that you may not be comfortable with and or you think might be too expensive. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.
Arielle: Hoover road animal hospital has been nothing but amazing to us since our first experience and I won’t go anywhere else again! First no other vet would take my dog that was dying in my arms after my own vet I’ve seen for years even told us no. I called Hoover road animal hospital, they were closing at the time and I explained my situation, they stayed open and let us bring her in all while they were closed. They were so kind during such a hard time . They diagnosed my cat that we thought was going to die with diabetes and he is in remission and thriving in his old age acting like himself times ten. We recently had to unexpectedly put my mother’s dog to sleep and the dr was so supportive. I bring my two cats and my dog now for all my needs. The staff go above and beyond to make sure my pets have what they need and at a fast pace. The receptionist is always so helpful when I need information and the drs are great and are very compassionate, the staff overall is just amazing! I have never had a bad experience coming here.

When my dogs minor "bumb knee" turned into a MAJOR "bumb knee", I couldn't have been happier with the care, concern and accomodations we received over a period of a week ({besides hoping for the surgery to be scheduled sooner} from the initial office visit/xrays, the consultant with the surgeon, return vist when he (my dog) did MORE damage to his leg, the blood work for pre-op, the follow up phone calls, etc.), they definitely made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. Dr. Gary truly treats your animals as if they were his own! Probably why I've been going back with ALL of my pets over the past 20+ years. As far as we knew, she was a healthy, 6-9 month old German Shepherd with no medical issues we were aware of, and had he not caught it, without the medication, the dog (most likely) would not have survived! 6 years later, she is now a happy, healthy big girl!So thanks to all of you that help keep our furry little friends (family) happy and healthy.
