Blair Elizabeth: If you want to go for the animals, then yes. Anything else:attractions, train, carousel, food don’t bother. We even visited with pandemic restrictions and the zoo ran better then when we visited on 5/15. Only 2 food places are open during the week (including the small kiosks and snack stands), and took over 50 minutes to get express pizza pieces at Buddy’s. None of the places are cafeteria style, they are all cook to order. Not very fast or smart. We will be making sure we spend our food and extra money somewhere else before we come visit.

John Johnson: This place is pretty cool - even for adults. It was interesting to learn a few things that I didn't know about Michigan's amphibians and reptiles. The facility is clean and well taken care of. To get on the island, you'll need a recreation pass and everything is free unless one is inspired to donate further. Highly recommended.

Janette Dwyer: Aquarium, was Clean & Awsome. Lots to see in a not so big space. Loved it. Our whole Fam had fun. Try the Honey! Mmm mmm. Nature center was closed, remodel at this time. ( April 21 / 23) but we'll be back.💜

Melodee Bush: Lived in the D for over 30years and visited Belle Isle hundreds of times but never stopped here. Quiet and informative although small but serene and relaxing. No charge, clean facilities and they do take donations, so why not go?!
Nicole Dunne: Love the upgrades, it looks very nice inside. There wasn't anyone supervising outside and I did see a group of teenagers wander into an area where the deer used to be that was supposed to be fenced off. Might be an issue that needs to be addressed.

Jessica Dembowske: We were going to the aquarium, but it was closed, so we decided to check this place out. I couldn't believe it was free. It was very cute, and my 9 and 14-year-old loved it. I wasn't expecting it, so it was a nice surprise. The albino turtle was so cool. The salamanders were super cute. A nice place to spend some time with kids if they love anything nature related.
