Yong Sun: I highly recommend this place and Sheryl. I am so glad that I found this place. It is not only more affordable but also more effective than some other places. Lisa Nakamura: This place is a non-profit and a co-op that belongs to POCA, the national organization for community acupuncture. They expanded their space greatly so there is lots of social distancing possible, Evan is an amazingly efficient and caring practitioner, I’ve been going for years and still think that pure quality wise it’s better than any individual practitioner. These people could open up clinics and earn tons of money treating people in private rooms but choose to make this treatment accessible and there’s a sliding fee. They also have and sell chinese medicine but I’ve never had it pushed or even recommended to me which I like, it’s completely up to you if you want to ask about it.

Raine Megivern: I am 71 years old and live out of state, but after my first acupuncture visit at the Community Acupuncture Clinic I felt a sense of calm and well-being. This was unfamiliar to me, since I have ADHD with a high anxiety level. . I also lost my intense craving for sweets.However, when I returned home I eventually needed more treatments. Since I am on a fixed income, I was shocked at the high cost. But I felt I needed it, and my renewed health would enable me to earn more. However locally here I felt worse afterward. I had a second treatment, because I believed in acupuncture from my Ann Arbor experience, and had faith that maybe it was just taking longer.I became deeply depressed and anxious and went hog wild with the cravings until I figured out why there should be such a difference. THE PEOPLE IN ANN ARBOR HAD AN OVERARCHING ATMOSPHERE OF LOVE AND A GENUINE HEALING MOTIVATION, whereas I felt the local clinic was motivated by money. And that was the difference. I would not hesitate to recommend the Ann Arbor clinic, but would caution people to watch out for anyone motivated by anything but a love of mankind and desire to heal.I found that in Ann Arbor at the Community Clinic!

Dean Kung: Was diagnosed with Bell’s Pasty the Monday before Thanksgiving. At ER, was told it will take two to six months to recover. Started treatment with Dr Kong the Monday after Thanksgiving. After two weeks, five sessions of Dr Kong’s magic work. The paralyzed face is all gone and I have recovered completely.

jessica lynn: For few years i worked 14hour shifts and Dr. Qingchun Kong helped me with allergies, colds and restore energy with such a grind, i had high levels of stress. I first met Dr. Kong in 2004 and he's since become my main first line of defense for all things ailing. Acupuncture works great for digestive problems and headaches, anything thats hurts or needs a doctors attention. I trust acupuncture because its it's long healing history, it's AMAZING. And so is Dr. Qingchun Kong, that i go weekly. Oh, and take all 3 of my kids too for their various issues. Thanks to him we all stay pretty healthy!

At the beginning I had a hard time understanding him with his accent and as soon as I expressed this to him, and explained my desire to learn what he’s doing as he’s doing it, he opened right up and offered much support. He slowed down his speed of voice and explained more about the needles, answered my curious mind and questions.Every week he encouraged me to share via text what was coming up for me each week so when I came in, he knew what he wanted to address. I also love that he always confirmed my appts and it was never hard to book a time.All that to say I felt heard and cared for in his presence.It’s a bit far for me, I’m in Chelsea, but it’s worth the drive every other week.I had slight improvements in 6 sessions and can see the benefit long term.

C Delaney: Where do I begin? Dr. Kongs treatments basically change my life. After chemotherapy and radiation therapy I was unable to eat hardly anything. My taste was gone and I had a super dry mouth so all I could eat with some seafood which gets old fast and basically lived off Ramen noodles. Marilyn Harris: I tried acupuncture years ago with only moderate success. After reading about Dr. Kong's background and experience I decided to try again. It has been an entirely different and much better experience. He was able to get rid of the post herpetic neuropathy and neuralgia in my right hand and arm last year and is now treating my chronic lower back with great results. I did not have this kind of improvement going to pain management and trying several different injections.His fees are also quite a bit lower than other doctors I checked with.I highly recommend him!!!!!

Joanne S: It was a very weird and not very healing or compassionate experience. I have suffered chronic inflammation and pain for many years and had good experiences in the past with acupuncture. My first treatment with heather was good and felt I thought she was very kind and I shared a lot that I was going through at the time. Then the next visit I felt a completely different vibe from her and the treatment was somewhat uncomfortable but I did not speak up until the following visit. On the third visit when she asked me how I felt from the last treatment I gave her an honest answer that it was uncomfortable and I had not feel as much improvement as the first visit. I was not directly blaming her but it seemed that she was very offended and basically told me the importance of client/practitioner rapport. Then gestured that she may not be able to help me so she referred me elsewhere. I also felt that her receptionist on my second visit was there was unprofessional she made a joke about the rain must have followed me there. I thought that was very insensitive of her for how much pain I was in at the time.

Yesterday was my first session and he did acupuncture and gave me some herbs to help. Last night, fell asleep within about 10 minutes, faster and easier than I have since the problem began. Charlotte Smith: Earlier this year, I sought help from Dr. Simon for intense shoulder pain. The treatment plan he developed for me involved acupuncture and cupping. As time passed, my shoulder pain lessened, allowing me to become more attuned to the presence of stress and trauma stored elsewhere in my body. Kadiatou Toure: I started going to Dr Simon in February 2023 for back pain and a blocked fallopian tube. In January 2021, I lost my left tube due to an ectopic pregnancy and found out that my only surviving tube was blocked. I was told by two specialists that my only option was IVF. After doing some research I started taking some natural stuff at home and acupuncture with Dr Simon, he gave me some herbal supplements and recommended I lose some weight. After 7 sessions of acupuncture with Dr Simon 05/08/2023 my 7 weeks pregnancy was confirmed in my uterus, with healthy heart rate. She even recommended a good chiropractor in my hometown after I had surgery, and I'm not sure what I'd do without her.
UV UV: Rosanne is a gifted acupuncturist and healer with decades of practice, experience and a holistic approach to healing. I have been seeing Rosanne for a few years now an i am simply delighted by the results. I am a frequent global traveler and the travel leaves me completely drained and fatigued and a session with Rosanne fixes it. I literally can feel all the muscles relax and the stress melt away and yes, I do fall asleep even when she is sticking the needles into me :). She practices a gentle Japanese technique and continuously modifies the protocol based on your response and feedback. I have successfully avoided back surgery by seeing her on a routine basis. Her knowledge and practice of many of the alternate therapies - Ayurveda, Herbals, Brazilian faith healing, nutritional etc is superior and I get immense advice and counselling with each session. I drive 2 hours to see her and will gladly make time in spite of a very busy schedule. I can't say enough positive things about my experience with her and highly recommend that you try. The trek to Ann Arbor feels like a pilgrimage!

After searching the internet, she referred me to Rosanne Emanuele. Rosanne has a calming personality which during treatment has helped to center me. Further, she suggests alternative ways of dealing with energy flow, health issues and continues to guide me in living a health life-style. She listens and reflects with me on my progress, honors my insights into my progress and has been a complete and total life saver!I had never experienced acupuncture prior to this summer, but came to Heather after 6-7 weeks of waking up in excruciating pain down left side of my neck, across my trapezius and scapula muscles and radiating into my arms arms and beyond, significantly interrupting my sleep and my overall quality of life.Physical Therapy was somewhat helpful but couldn't alleviate the pain and massage felt good but couldn't get to the deep muscles that were involved.It is no exaggeration that with one treatment Heather was able to eliminate the pain, making it possible for me to sleep through the night after that very first treatment. Kate Hill: Heather is my go-to for acupuncture! I also love to see her for my micro-needling skin care needs too. Heather is fabulous. I find my visits to her to be extremely soul charging. Her energy alone feels healing, and the way she goes about her practice feels detail-oriented, caring, and mindful. I like how relaxed I feel during my visits with her. Couldn't recommend enough! Also, and as a side note, I started seeing Heather regularly for acupuncture the same time I decided to try not-drinking alcohol and I'm happy to say that even though I'm overdue for a session with Heather, I am now 6 months strong into my journey of no alcohol and I'm happy for the role she played in the start of this journey for myself! Elle: I started seeing Heather in 2012-ish for many things but in particular for fertility treatment and I was astonished to see my LH and FSH levels dramatically improve to the point that I was ovulating regularly. I mean I could actually see remarkable improvement in my lab values that I could not attribute to anything else. The acupuncture progress was actually measurable...My thyroid improved significantly too, I was able to reduce my medication by over half. But, with an exhausting schedule and other demands through the COVID pandemic I'm back to see Dr. Kong for another round of sessions to treat adrenal fatigue and a wrist trauma.I'm grateful and impressed by the results I experience with this doctor in every session.A decade ago, when I was seeing Dr. Kong for adrenal fatigue I arrived at a treatment session with a severe headache. Without charging more to treat the headache and my adrenals she placed her needles and my headache literally vanished in five minutes!My current experience of a notable improvement in my energy, digestion, sleep and calmness are in part due to the skill and esteemed knowledge of Dr. Shan Kong!

Dennis Sergent: After a stroke and physical and occupational therapies did their best, I started visiting Dr. Shan Kong for acupuncture treatments. My edema, pain and range of motion on my left side was not tolerable and with regular acupuncture treatments and a few cupping sessions, my symptoms began to ease. I've been able to return to walking daily without a limp or dragging my left foot. My left shoulder and arm pain no longer wake me at night. My left arm. elbow and hand have returned to almost normal range of motion. We continue to work on my left hand dexterity and I can touch my thumb to my fingertips. Barbara Arnett: Amazing experiences with Dr. Shan KongI had terrible pain in my lower back all of a sudden, and it lasted for about a month before I finally found Dr. Kong. She did an initial exam and then we talked, then she inserted the needles. I cannot believe that I actually fell asleep on the table. She came back to turn them a bit after 20 minutes, and I fell asleep again! Then she came back and turned the needles, and I fell asleep AGAIN!I have seen a couple of other acupuncturists over the years, but Dr. Kong has the most gentle and sure touch. It is OBVIOUS that she is extremely experienced by touching me in a specific spot and inserting the needles. She has incredible knowledge of the body, acupuncture, and all of the meridian points. I didn't think it was covered by my insurance, and was happy to pay for the treatments. After just one treatment I started to feel better. Every time I go, it is even better. And every single time, I fall asleep on the table.Yes, she is very busy, which is a testament to her knowledge and skills. I will continue going to Dr. Kong - and recommending here to ALL of my friends. It's wonderful to find someone with SUCH expert knowledge and experience!

Olivia Dubon: I was diagnosed with a herniated disc at L5-S1 in April 2022 after having been in excruciating pain on and off for two months. This issue was causing nerve pain and muscle spasms all down my left leg, which was extremely debilitating. I was tired of taking pain medication, which only alleviates the pain temporarily. I decided to reach out to Dr. Kong, who had successfully helped me with fertility issues in the past. I’ve now been receiving her acupuncture treatments for the nerve pain associated with the herniated disc for 6 weeks, and I am amazed at how much better I feel. I can finally function as normal and can even exercise without feeling any pain. I continue to see her for acupuncture treatments as my body continues to heal, and I feel like this is definitely the right path for physical healing. I feel much more balanced and positive about my health after two months of despair (nerve pain is the worst!). She is a really kind, sweet and knowledgeable doctor, and I have always felt like she truly cares about my health and well-being. Thank you so much, Dr. Kong!

• KooKooMan123 •: My dad went to see Dr Kong and told me she was very rude and does not spend enough time with the patients to discuss and explain the treatment and future results of the treatments. He was very upset with the treatment he recieved like he was trying to scam her and running away without paying. She is very money oriented and takes in multiple patients at the same time thereby not giving sufficient time to any patient. Ann Arbor has many acupuncture clinics which are less expensive and will spend more time with you to discuss your condition and treatment. Avoid at all costs.
Azam Mohamad: Dr Kong is the most rude acupuncture practitioner I have ever visited. After my first visit, I made my payment through my Card and it was getting declined. So I tried to call the card service and she kept asking 10 times for cash. I requested her to give me just 2 minutes but she didn’t budge. In the end I had to give her another form of payment and she just quickly took it and went away. The initial consultation is $120 which is not a consultation all. She can hardly understand you and she will put the needles without discussing or explaining the course of treatment. I won’t be coming back even though I had planned to earlier.Avoid this practice as there are lot of other excellent acupuncture in Ann Arbor area.
