Sears Appliance Repair: what do users think?
Krishna Williams: I made my first call to have someone come out and look at my refrigerator in late March. They came out 2 weeks later, told me a part had to be ordered, and they would come back 2 weeks later. When the tech came back, he discovered the wrong part was ordered. He sent in a request for the 2nd part and said he would be back in another 2 weeks. Two more weeks went by and the part never came so I had to use the chat feature to contact Sears multiple times asking about that part that was ordered. They kept talking in circles. When the tech called to say he was on his way again, I told him not to bother because the part never arrived. A few days ago, Sears called to say they cannot find rhe part needed to fix the fridge and they would refund my money. They wasted 2 months of my life.

Deanna Sieting: We received the part so set up Saturday repair. First off no call before arriving. Was here at 8am. He put the part in, but never set the temperature. Or made sure it was working. 1 hour later I opened the fridge and light were flashing doing what it did before . So I called get the tech back. He never came, no calls from Sears. So I was looking for a reset buttoned not see one, so I tried pushing the up arrow on the left side of the panel. Brian Laskowski: This has got to be one of the biggest scams around. I scheduled service for our dryer. Not finding anything useful in the owners manual, I turned to the web for answers. Found what I was looking for but unsure of what replacement part was required so I scheduled a service appt. When scheduling I explicitly asked that the tech have the part on hand when arriving at my home. Upon arrival and a short 5 minute stay, the tech proceeded to explain the diagnosis, of which I already found on the web. Then it was stated he would have to order the parts. Thanks for charging me $120 for something I already knew was wrong and for not having the parts as I had requested. Out $120 for their upfront diagnosis fee for nothing and will never use the Sears Repair service again!!! What a sham!!!Service:Washer/dryer repair
Ryan Y Xiao: My dishwasher was broken a month before thanksgiving. I’m asking for a repair and after a couple of months late, the service shows up. He cannot fix it so he ordered a new part. A few of months later that order been cancelled because the part is no longer provided ! After spend MANY long times on the phone with this company, they just transfer you around to other person ask you call others. No one in that organization knows how to work for the people. After many days of conversation between third party phone company and service, they scheduled a date for an installation contractor to install. When those people got to the front my house they knocked the glass door instead of ringing the doorbell, they saw no one answered the door they just left. That was only in the morning! Even my dogs couldn’t hear it. They had many reasons why they left, but, they forgot to just simply ring the doorbell. After more than 6 MORE months that happened, We had deal to get our dishwasher fixed too. Finally they sent a check to me. Thank God!! That amount only purchased the cheapest out of pocket appliance. Now at the end of April I have an installed dishwasher at home! That experience was extremely hard to forget. When you put your trust, pay monthly service fees to a company like that, you lost that trust, time and money! What a Negative Factor to impact my family life,I wish Companies like this did not exist on the market, the only thing they get your money not take your issues. Master Tech Appliance Service: what do users think?
Pam Palmieri: Stay away from these folks, they order the wrong parts and make expensive repairs that don't fix the problems. If you call, you are on hold and given excuses on everything. They showed up 4x to fix a washing machine without parts, with the wrong part, without the 2nd person that they said they needed to unstack the washer/dryer for one requested repair. The repair person who eventually repaired the washer, DID NOT need to unstack them to make the repair. I had simultaneously used them to make a repair at a 2nd rental (my mistake), they made a $500+ repair that did not fix the problems on refrigerator, came out again and said they needed to order another part. One month later, I had to call them again and this was the response: "The vendor says the part is on back order and should be shipped soon." Since they have ordered the wrong parts so many times and seem to misdiagnose everything and either their techs don't know what they are doing (or worse), I'd say RUN don't walk away from this company. I did call another company and they were not only polite when inquiring about service, they are coming out this week to rediagnose/repair since MasterTech keeps saying they are short staffed and can't even tell me when I can receive a call back!
Thomas Berden: Couldn't service me because I was not in their area?? Milan Michigan is about 9 miles from Ann arbor Michigan. But they did give me a referral to an x employee that moved on to start his own business. He came from Brighton Michigan 45 miles away. Go figure

Alas, my dryer did not dry my clothes after the coils were replaced, so Master Tech's Curt came back today and it was operator error (translation: My fault). My dryer sheet had gotten plastered against the vent in the back of the dryer. Curt was so kind and stayed 20 minutes to make sure all was well after he removed the sheet. I wanted to pay him for his time since the original repair was fine, but he said it was covered under their warranty policy, so I want to let people who check reviews know that this is an outstanding business! Thank you!

Whirlpool will not replace the unit until master tech reports to them that its not repairable. Master tech will not report this to Whirlpool leaving us with a non-working fridge that leaks water all over the kitchen. Not to mention ruining the kitchen floors behind repair! When ever we mention our concerns with the problems of the fridge we are told "that's just how these units are", how is that an acceptable solution. Andrew Keilman: Rude technician. Took 5 weeks for tech to come out for warranty on new washer.Intermittent problem which the tech was aware of. He ran 1 cycle and it worked fine. He said it was most likely the board that needed to be replaced and he would order one. 2 cycles after tech left, the washer was full of water with the lid locked with an error code. Called the office a week later to follow up and they said I must have misunderstood, there was no board ordered, the service call was closed and they said to call Maytag and start the warranty process again. Howard Oishi: Tried supporting a local business instead of using Amazon for a simple dryer part and kept getting told "the part will be here" on Tuesday coming from Montana, and then it was Thursday coming from Nebraska, and then I just gave up and ordered it from Amazon and got it delivered to my door in two days for half the price. This business needs to sign up for Amazon business where they can get discounted prices and still mark it up to retail.

Linda Miller: The best vacuum is the one that gets used! So grateful to have this shop in our city. We brought our vacuum in thinking it needed to be repaired but found out the issue was a bigger fix than we thought. We worked with Dennis to pick out a new vacuum that fit our needs perfectly. Alice Morgan: How do I love Arbor Vacuum? Let me count the ways! I visit Arbor Vacuum frequently. I bought my Dyson vacuum there, and have had to bring it back for minor servicing given the poor vacuum is tasked with the superhuman feat of keeping up with an epic amount of dog hair. I also have an overburdened Hoover Steam-Vac given the dog has, well, incontinence issues! Every time I go in, the service is top notch. The gentlemen there are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They fix my overworked vacuum when it is clogged. They explain to me how to unjam it myself. They patiently review all the different kinds of carpet shampoos with me. I never thought I'd be so loyal to a vacuum store, but the service is superb!

Renee Conway: I brought my Shark vacuum that had stopped suctioning on the bottom part in to this shop to be looked at. The salesman spent 30 seconds looking at it and told me that my vacuum was toast and couldn’t be repaired because Shark doesn’t make replacement parts. I had trusted him and asked for his advice on which new vacuum would be best for my purposes. He tried selling me a vacuum that was ~$1,000 and that I had never heard of. I told them I would talk it over with my husband and think about it. Upon leaving, I asked if they would be able to recycle my vacuum as I don’t have the means to do it, and they agreed. Later that day, my husband and I did some research and found that Shark does make replacement parts, including the exact one we needed. We called the shop to let them know and to get our vacuum back, and they were extremely rude about it. They told my husband that all they told me was that they couldn’t repair it, but no sensical person including myself would have asked them to throw out their vacuum just because one shop couldn’t repair it. They then tried to convince us not to spend any money on our ‘piece of junk’ vacuum, and said they already cut the cord on it. I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because they re-attached the cord. Later that day, I picked up the vacuum, ordered the part from Amazon, and repaired it myself. Three days later we have a perfectly-performing vacuum.Edit: I updated my review from 2 stars to 3 stars based on the owner’s/manager’s response, which adds much-needed clarity to the situation. Shannon Lee: I bought a vacuum here for around $100 thinking it was brand new because I was told it was. I must admit, I was skeptical, because it was sitting in a corner all dusty and somewhat used looking, but I gave the owner the benefit of the doubt and figured it was just because it had been sitting there a long time. Well, after one week of using it, the back filter lid popped off because a plastic tab on that part just broke for no reason. The only way I could keep it on was to apply duct tape all around the edges to keep it on. Then two weeks later, the top compartment lid broke off, simply by lifting it up to take the used vacuum bag out. After inspecting the vacuum closer, It seems to me that this was a used vacuum that had been left out so long that the plastic parts had turned brittle, causing them to break easily. Very disappointing and no returns, so now I'm out $100 and a bunch of time that I'll never get back.

John Valenti: Had a dishwasher that stopped draining 10 days before Christmas, when we were going to be entertaining constantly. After a terrible experience with another local appliance repair place last time we needed service, we searched out on some local Facebook groups and were referred to this business. I called on a Wednesday and spoke to a very polite, very organized lady (Jennifer) who informed me there was an opening the next day. That's amazing as the other repair place (let's call them William & Rodney's) took weeks to come out last time I needed help. Mark called Thursday morning to advise of a 2 hour window, and arrived right in the middle of it. Very professional and a very nice guy who was super tolerant of my overly friendly dog. Took him about an hour to diagnose and fix the problem, but luckily didn't need any parts. Really appreciated his professionalism and his approach. Susan Robins: Awesome service!! This morning my washing machine started making an awful noise half way through the spin cycle. I quickly called at least 10 various repair companies but not one of them answered, although the listing said they were open. Then I called The Appliance Doctor Service. Jennifer answered and was very pleasant. She immediately helped me find the model number on the machine and said that they were just making out today’s schedule. She promised that the technician would call me shortly with the 2 hour window for arriving. Sure enough Mark called. He arrived on time, was very friendly, and made a point to greet my barking dog and son. Within a few minutes he had taken my machine apart, diagnosed the problem, showed me the broken part and located a replacement part in his truck. The whole process took less than 30 minutes!! He explained each step while fixing the fridge, and even told me what to look for if the same issue comes back. They do have 90 day warranty on their repair. It took him 30 mins to address and fix the issue. The price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone!

Jamie Holzhausen: After being blatantly ripped off by Papa Joe’s Appliance Repair of Plymouth by them not diagnosing the problem, putting unnecessary parts on my dryer at a ridiculous price, not fixing the issue and refusing to provide a refund, I called Mark at the Appliance Doctor to the rescue. Mark was very cordial, came out, diagnosed the problem and replaced a broken blower on the dryer for 2/3 the cost of the simple, unnecessary parts Papa Joes installed. Brad Avis: I called this company based on their good ratings on Google maps and I was not disappointed. The person that took my initial call answered all of my questions and was very nice and patient. They had next day availability and provided a 2 hour window, they would call the next day in the morning and provide an exact time, and the diagnostic fee was much less than the Sears diagnostic fee. I provided the make and model number and we were set.I received a call in the morning and Mark informed me that the washer was 20-30 years old and the bearings weren't made anymore. So rather than come out and charge me the diagnostic fee, he saved me a lot of time and money by providing me with advice over the phone and recommended I save my money and look for a new one.I appreciate the honesty and not coming out and charging me for something they already knew. You don't find that much anymore. Highly recommend using them!

Rami Ha: Service charge was cheaper than other companies that I called. Mark was knowledgeable. After he fixed my dryer he did a quick review on other appliances and gave me a few helpful tips, and that was very nice from his side. I would recommend this company.
Katica Temelkova: Never call them . So rude, I had appointment with them and time frame from 3-5 pm he shows after 5 pm, and when he saw that I have home warranty he said that he doesn’t want to work with them. That’s ok I said I’ll pay you give me a estimate and fix it. He didn’t want to do that. He just left without any reasonable explanation . SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!?
