Townies Brewery: what do users think?
Daniel Kelly: Friendly with decent beer. The atmosphere is a little sterile. When we went out was greatly empty, I bet with a crowd it feels a lot more lived in.
Jill Estrada: The beer is good and the atmosphere is great (being dog-friendly is always a huge plus!) but the food is not good and overpriced. I tried the veggie tacos and they were subpar. We miss being able to bring amazing tacos from Chela's and hanging out at Townies.
Carol G: Really enjoyed our visit here. The beers were tasty! Alina said it was her 3rd day working here, and she did great. Love the outdoor space; we enjoyed sitting by the firepit table in the sunshine. We picked up our Tag-a-Brew and they had some cool merchandise items, but no coozies :( We will definitely visit again if we're in the area.
joe1265: I loved the fruited farmhouse ale.
Sandi Beatty: Stopped in at Noon on a Sunday and were the only ones here. (But there was a home U of M game going on.) And the Beer Jockey said they usually get busy around 2pm ish. Hubsy and I each had a flight. I liked my beers-hubsy said he like everything but the stout, which tasted contaminated, so maybe a bad barrel. We shared a street corn dip and chips, asked for second cup of dip to finish up the chips. We were surprised it was cold, but both thought it was good anyway. Beer jockey( he named himself) was knowledgeable about the beers and could give recommendations on other breweries to stop at. Tag A Brew participant and lots of swag and decor items available to purchase.
A Bar: Based on 10pm Friday attendanceOnly chips n salsa for foodBeer is eh across 5 selections. I liked the hard seltzer.Parking is a bit inconvenient no thru way to pull out, home base lot is small.Plus: while open Chelas taqueria will deliver to the Townie door.
Darrin Mendrick: Varied beer selection, local pub atmosphere, courteous staff
Evelyn Eccles: They do not take cash! (Legal tender for all debts public and private) but were extremely happy for cash tips. That said, good beer and Chela right next door. They may not allow for the food to be brought in but we took our beers over the wall to Chela's patio and then went back
S Dely: Me… waiting 45 minutes for nachos… and then noting the amazing smells from the taqueria neighbor…..
Kevin Ackley: Drove up from o$u central ohio to hit some breweries in AA. Our K9s named Tshimanga and Desmond came along to explore.Townes was a pleasant visit. Offering some big number beers for me, with some lower number beers and seltzer for the Mrs. Outdoor area outstanding. Inside gaming area looked amazing.
Shannon Zell: Great beers but only a Food truck at the time we visited with Tacos and Nachos. Great selection of ciders, IPA's, selzers, and a few ales.
Amanda LaVictoire: Wonderful staff, lovely outdoor seating, tasty hard seltzers & an amazing game room!!
Bill Moran: Tonight we just had some of their tasty beers and played darts. The tacos are delicious.
Alfred Momodu: Great customer service, food is slightly pricey, but the space is lovely and expansive. They have a game room and a back yard. Definitely a hidden gem of Ann Arbor.
Jennifer Laidlaw: Great beer- games and played pool and darts. Great service, too
Michael C.: Had just driven from Massachusetts, enjoyed the food and hospitality. The owner and staff were welcoming/friendly. Unfortunately they were out of cider, but had a diverse range of options to choose from including beer and seltzers. They had a smooth IPA although no true doubles, but I'm bias and spoiled from our NE DIPA's at home. Their outdoor area was nice and main tap room was spacious. Food was decent, although spicy! I'm a fan and my wife was not, we ordered another quesadilla asking for no spice/jalapenos since we didn't read the menu close enough and unfortunately was given another regular quesadilla including spiciness. It was really nice to have the dog friendly policy as well! We didn't think the price point was bad for how much we got, although we are from taxachussetts and might have different perspectives opposed to others in the area. Thanks for the good food and drink while we were in town!
Shawn H: I hosted a wedding shower at Townies and the staff and owners exceeded our expectations in every way! The food, the service, the room set up…were all fabulous! Our guests all raves about what a great time they had there. I would absolutely recommend going there! It’s so cute and the beer and ciders are fantastic. Grab a drink and head out to a fire pit! It’s the perfect way to spend some time.
Doug Gordon: Very nice
David Goodman: Beer is medium to bad, food is medium. Ambiance is really pleasant.
Abigail Cole: Interesting place! They have some pretty good food (we made the veggie taco vegan), great interesting beers for all, and a neat game room with darts and pool. Excited to go back again.
Jonathan Scheets: This place has an amazing outdoor and indoor area. The seating outdoors is equipped with fire pits and even the benches themselves are heated. Also pet friendly outdoors and my dog loves it. Inside has a game area with a pool table and darts. All this gets 5+ stars. The beer itself would get 2-3 stars. Some are okay, some just aren’t good at all. Recently had an IPA with leftover chunks of hops, dark flecks of unknown substance, and an overall unpleasant metallic taste. You’d be okay if you liked ciders or seltzers as my non-beer drinking friends have enjoyed them. All this being said, we still go here and continue to hope for an improving beer quality because we have a great time on the property and want to see them succeed.

HOMES Brewery - Brewpub: what do users think?
Duane Radzwion: Great food, beer, outdoor seeting and spirits but the music sucked.
Cheri Z: For non-beer drinkers, the Smooj is tasty.
Wutt Hmone Thin Kyi: Kao swe is the best!! Definitely recommend.
Ammar Muhammad: RIP to the Gogi burrito. Please bring it back.
Steffany Bluestein: I love this place so much, but I was CRAVING the Gogi burrito and went to get it and they got rid of it. I am literally heartbroken. Please please bring it back for my emotional well being. 😭
Michael Santiago: Cool place to relax and have a couple of beers. Big open space, food options, plus plenty of parking.
Jeffrey Basch: Great vibe, friendly service, yummy beer and food.
Josie Jackson: We tried the tofu tacos and the tofu bimibap! The sours and IPAs here are incredible. It is so different. It is worth waiting in line. Get there early to grab a seat and enjoy all of the intriguing beer and interesting elements of the gorgeous atmosphere. The only downside of our trip was the tables being so close that we could hear someone talk about detoxing from caffeine and the gross effects of that.Otherwise!!! This place is incredible!!
Gerald Har (harharhar123): Great selection of IPA. Food selection is pretty decent - surprised to find spicy kimchi in a place like this. Relaxed environment and ideal to chat and hangout, especially if you catch them when business is slower. Will definitely be back and will post some nice photos the next time!
Connie Burke: Great vibe, not your typical bar food - HOMES offers Asian food paired with the most flavorful beer you’ll ever taste. Excellent.
Nicole Czmer: Beer and food always on point. Love their Asian fusion vibe on the food menu. If you love solid sours and IPAs this is your brewery! 🍻
Mail House: Homes kills everything they do! Their fruited sours and hazy IPA's are some of the best in the state of Michigan. Their kitchen takes Asian fusion to another level. Their Bulgogi burrito is so tasty you'll want to take one home. Don't forget to grab a 4-pack to go or a 750ml bottle to share with friends for your next dinner party. When my car gets close to the Homes exit it automatically turns like it's magic. I recommend everyone visit this awesome brewery in Ann Arbor.
Trevor Davenport: Visiting family from out of town and they suggested I would like HOMES. Now I've been to a lot of breweries that have beer and food and undoubtedly, they only tend to get 1 out of 2 right. HOMES seems to have figured out how to have amazing food served quickly with a high quality bar AND pairing it with a delicious selection of beers. The line to order looks deceptively long but everyone was quick, friendly and eager to help you get your grub (and drink) on! We had just about everything on the menu - the bulgogi fries and burrito were the stars. I was less impressed with the coconut ranch edamame and the brussel Caesar salad but they were still satisfying.I would be here every weekend if I lived in Ann Arbor!!
Michael Bryan: Always a great stop. Great food, with flair and creativity. A friendly team no matter what time of day, feels like they knew you before you walked in. Never rushed, but always taken care of.
Tonya: I ordered bibimbap. It will be a nice dish if they don't overflow it with pickles. The pickles are tasty, but they are way too many and make the dish very sour. Rice is not nearly enough. I could have given four stars but I think the food in general is a bit overrated
Jangwon Choi: The food was quite nice, but it was a bit too noisy for a comfortable conversation.
G W: Atmosphere was nice. We ate outside, near the fire.
Cody Mrowca (Tacktiician): Have been a member for three years now and will be for many more. Easily one lf the best breweries in the state. Every style is done excellent
AJ Maxey: Best craft brews in Ann Arbor!
Sean McAndrew: I really like the vibe of this place and generally like their beer enough. Only downside for me is there really is not much variety in their beer, it's essentially ALL IPAs, a couple very sugary sours, then one good Kolsch. The food has kind of gone downhill, and I've never been blown away by any of it.More variety in their styles and an expanded food menu would benefit this place greatly.
Bennett Proegler: It was so incredibly warm while we were inside the brewpub, such a nice change for most bars during the winter in Michigan! Plus the beer was amazing as always

Jolly Pumpkin Café & Brewery: what do users think?
J Hales: Went to JP with friends for a quick meal where I had the nachos and truffle fries. The fries weren't as good as I remember, but they were still good. The nachos, on the other hand, were excellent!I would like to have paper menus, and a way to split the bill is paying online.I think JP is a bit pricey for the quality, but it's what I expect from a South Main restaurant.
Yoshi Kuronuma: Love the atmosphere. They open for outside seating during the summer season. Great place to hangout or drink with your friends, family, and/or someone special. Good quality of food and beer. Their Truffle flies are my favorite. It's a great with beer. Staff and service are great too.
Aileen Bowlby: Our server was wonderful--professional, friendly, and efficient. Due to rain earlier in the evening, it wasn't busy when we arrived, so we were seated quickly. We split nachos and they were on the table about 5 minutes after ordering. Impressive! They have great nachos with a generous amount of toppings. One of the toppings has a little bit of a kick to it, but we couldn't put our fingers on which one. Well, we probably did put our fingers on it, but couldn't tell. Ha! My favorite topping is the pickled onions on top. They were stingy with the avocado (two very thin, small slices), but there were enough toppings that it wasn't upsetting. When it's not busy the noise level isn't so bad here, but when it's crowded it can be annoyingly noisy. Tonight was on the good side. We'll be back!
Bruce Geffen: Customer service was excellent! I'm just not a fan of the place overall from past experiences.
Marc-Grégor Campredon: This place is a Staple of Ann Arbor. Historic place to be fair. The ambience is very a unique mixed in between an American brasserie and an English Pub - providing you with two different experience mixed into one unique place.Nothing is mind blowing or over the top, it just a nice place to chill have a drink and food with friends. Is it over price? Definitely on the high end $17-20 for a burger but nothing shocking for downtown Ann Arbor. Is the food amazing? I'd say everything is good and interesting with a few very unique and amazing dishes (hint the Sriracha fried chicken Burger!).Staff is kind and definitely efficient. It is a great place, very Ann Arbor.Loving it.
Kohl Houghtaling: Great beer and food. The truffle fries are a must! If you are a fan of sour beer, make sure to stop by if your in Ann Arbor. They have a variety and are constantly updating taps. The sours pair well with the menu and if you don’t want sour beer they have plenty of other flavors as well.Great for a date night if you are catching a show at The Ark across the street as well!
Hockey Mom 7: Great selection of craft beer! The BLT is awesome! Love sitting outside in the summer. Great service.
Amy Shepherd: JP is one of our favorite places! You can always find a drink and a delicious snack or meal here! They have gluten free bread for sandwiches, too! If you aren't gf, their pizzas are amazing! The rotating pizza always sounds mouthwatering... Friday's was Mediterranean inspired with feta cheese and kalamata olives. The nachos are always a solid choice, too, if you're not gf.
Justin K: This location was pretty cool. Food was great. The perfect chicken sandwich (not perfect but close). The Mac and cheese with the chicken, very good. Beignets with the scoops of ice cream; really good. In my opinion, pricey. Overall good experience and time, staff was cool and I would go back. Everything in Ann Arbor is over priced so it fits right in.
robert bradford: Accommodated 16 of us right at opening. Perfect fried chicken sandwich.
Elijah Grubbs: Their JP burger had horrible bacon, a strangely tasteless patty, and a thick slab of cheese that stayed as a clump in your mouth as you were chewing. But their “perfect chicken sandwich” was pretty good. But I could just go to Fat Daddy’s if I wanted a better sandwich.Their truffle fries were great.
E D: Got a margherita pizza, truffle pizza, truffle fries, burger, vegan chocolate cake and beignets. Ambiance was warm, located downtown ann arbor. Was pleasantly surprised by the beers. Excellent for those who love sour beers. Margherita pizza was cooked well but lacked flavor and sauce, so was overpriced. Truffle pizza was very flavorful but almost too much. Plates were smaller than pizza slices. Burger was good. Truffle fries were the best. Cake was a little dry, beignets were a little overcooked. I'd come back for the beers and truffle fries on the deck or rooftop. It was an excellent vale for restaurant week.
Ashley Bommer: Great place for sour beers. You can even purchase some to bring home.
Dylan N: I gotta be honest. Order: ipa beer and the fried chicken sando.Pros:The service was really good! The waitress gave me suggestions and some beer samples. The ipa was delicious. The flavor on the sandwich was really good. A nice sourness from the pickles. The chicken wasn't oily at all.Cons:The chicken was dry but I can't stress enough that it was still very edible. It wasn't cardboard dry.It feels like the chicken sat for a little before it made it onto the bun. Not a huge deal but maybe that might be why it got dry.I'd definitely come back here to try more of their beers.
Dustin M: Sour beers are great! Wife loved the wine as well. Great service. Love the merch.
Emily Bailey: We went out for our anniversary and had the most wonderful pleasure of having Madison as our server. Everything was fantastic!
Avram Liebowitz: Service was great, very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. The food was fantastic, I got the lamb burger and it was very Filling, it was a huge burger with a plate of fries. The beer is delicious too.
Kaylee Brant: The food and staff are amazing
Jean Morin: Amazing food and the people were awesome!!
Vaishnavi Katta: This place was just incredibly fun and great to go with friends. We went during midnight madness and our waitress was so patient with us despite the chaos. The food is decently priced and there are a lot of options. The pizza is a must try.
Corrine Higley: The whiskey chaider was an amazing cocktail, 10/10 would recommend

Mothfire Brewing Company: what do users think?
Blake Garner Blades: What a cute place and great beer. Excited for their new location. The Phraze was incredible!
Andy B: Good beer. Very small tasting room style venue in a light industrial area. Nice vibe. The seating area has been expanded by just a few seats (April 2022) and it's nice. They're only open for a few hours in the early evening for a few days a week, so it's a pretty intimate place. The beer is consistently good, but it's generally either 3 or 4 out of 5. It's good beer, but not legendary. They plan to move out of their light industrial location next winter and into another light industrial area. In the meantime it's nice to go on one of the three evenings a week that they're open and hang out with the big "garage doors" open to the outside. The beer continues to be good in September 2022. They make a variety of different types, all of which seem to be popular. They offer many of their beers in cans.January 2023 - I think the beer has gotten a bit better. Some of their early offerings were strong and eccentric tasting. But now things seems a bit more balanced and maybe a little mellower too. Their stuff is definitely not typical. If you're an adventurous beer drinker, this is a good place to experience things on the wilder side. They used to make beers that I would rank about a 3 out of 5. The entire line is still mostly between 2 and 4 to my tastes, but I think the whole offering is leaning more toward the 4s in the winter of 2023.
Logan Rowe: Juicy IPAs.
Ethan Block: Great Brewery with awesome beers. Friendly management and an awesome atmosphere. Best Brewery in Ann Arbor.
Wendy Mello: Love Mothfire!!!!
Miguel 'Mig' Denyer: Fantastic beer selection... reasonable prices... GREAT staff
Charles Scrase: Hidden gem
Tammera: Dave and Team from Mothfire Brewing Co provided the brews for our annual fundraiser gala, Blue Ribbon Bash, at Therapeutic Riding Inc. Every brew was a hit and the crowd loved it! This is an amazing community resource and we will tap into their talent again. My rating falls somewhere between Wow! and Spectacular!
Robert Zenas: Delicious beer and super nice staff
Laura Hancock: We happened upon this hidden gem of a nano brewery in Ann Arbor and absolute love it! The quaint atmosphere, the variety of beers, and hospitality is unmatched. They only had 4 beers on tap but you can pick a can of their other brews to enjoy as well. Will definitely be back!
Isha Gandhi: The beers are good and extremely well balanced. They never disappointment. One of my favorite breweries in Ann Arbor. The staff is extremely friendly.
Steve Smith: Great beer, small space. Hopefully they expand.
Jonathan Scheets: Amazing beer, super friendly people. Their beer is a notch above the rest for sure, just not tons of seating if you have a big group. Check it out and try the beer, you won’t be disappointed.
Michael Rohwer: Small brewery and taproot with some great stuff. Mostly well crafted IPAs and interesting aged stouts.
Mickie McA: This place has great beer but they need to open back up so I can try more! I love visiting the actual brewery and sitting in and talking to the crew that makes the beer! It makes it special and the experience of craft brew. Plus I am more likely to try more at a brewery then buy a 4 pack and pray I like it.
Gary Oke: Friendly little nano brewery. Stop in and check 'em out at the source.
Ed Love: They have an experimental porter with a sharp mexican spiced chocolate that blends away in the mouth. Freakin' delicious! Get it while you can.
Alex Nazarian: Very friendly and open crew of brewers. A great Ann Arbor upstart.
jessica french: Thank goodness for Mothfire! Best brews and coolest crew in town! A+
