Booksweet: what do users think?
Jessica Tapley: I absolutely love BookSweet!
Jude Perillo: I love Booksweet!!!!! Great store, great staff!
Kelly Wells: Delightful indie bookshop with friendly service and a great selection of books!
Justin Ham: Booksweet is an absolute treasure! Locally owned, great variety, and they always seem to know the next great book to read.
Jeremy Hall: A very nice quaint bookstore Very helpful staff and pretty good selection
Jenny: Such an awesome treasure of a bookstore tucked away in Ann Arbor. We never leave empty handed. Booksweet curates collections of books to ensure representation of all people. Kid friendly books on diverse topics, the latest best sellers, science fiction, essays, plants, cookbooks, there's a little something for all of the standard sections. If you wander to the back, you'll find an amazing children's section. The books stretch out among the back corner, making it feel cozy and welcoming to kids of all ages. Wander through the front of the store, and you'll find an inclusive collection highlighting race, gender, and other topics. If you're looking for a gift for your favorite person, they have that as well. Locally made items, socks, stickers, sketchbooks, and more are tucked inside as well.
Elizabeth Schmidt: The books must be very carefully selected all are wonderful. I love this little gem in Ann Arbor.
J. Yun: Very spacious and well stocked bookstore with the kindest booksellers. So glad to have this in the neighborhood!
piper clark: this place is so awesome!!! i went there yesterday (the 9th) and the person working at the cash register was so nice! they were helping me find the book i was looking for and when i went to check out they were so nice and made conversation!
Violet: This is my favorite bookstore! It’s got some of the best books you’ll ever read. And the sweetest staff known to man. Please I encourage you if you’re near to drop everything and go there now!!
Marty Simonson: Fantastic selection, great staff, cool location, and so many stickers/buttons!
Drew Bartlett: Ordered a book online and there was an issue with shipping. Shaun stepped in and made sure to make it right. Seems like a very well run business that cares about their customers. Would definitely recommend checking them out.
RO: A great local bookstore! They have a really broad selection of books and definitely seems like the owners take a lot of time to select the books they sell!I also think it’s awesome what they are doing with their Banned Book Club! Getting the community engaged in some really important conversations!
Shawna Gerry: We took an amazing fairy garden class in store and was able to browse some of the titles in this adorable shop!
Tessa Bird: Well organized, great staff, positive vibes throughout the store. Staff will gladly order the book you need if they don’t have it - to either be delivered to your home or to Booksweet directly for later pickup. And a terrific online presence. Highly recommended them as your go to bookstore 📚
Maia Campbell: Immediately fell in love with this book store. My daughter wanted to go to a cosplay event here for her birthday. We drove over and hour and she loved it. She was able to get some great books and we had lunch next door at a great sushi restaurant
Erica Gardner: Booksweet is on my route home from work so I've gotten quite a few good books there (three great coffee table books, some nature/science books, and more). I also like how they have events for the community and showcase student art on the walls. However, the nonfiction section is pretty limited. The politics, religion, and history sections are very obviously biased in alignment with what I assume are either the owners' ideologies or what they think Ann Arbor residents want. So, if you are looking to find books with different perspectives on an issue, or books about religions other than Buddhism (although I am enjoying the book on Buddhism I purchased there) you will have a hard time finding them at Booksweet, unless you place an order through them.
Michael Choate: Charming, curated, local shop. Buy books from these folks!
Kate S: Amazing place! Great collection of books & book-gear. Staff wonderful & able to give solid recs.
Dawn Jaggers: Great selection with a friendly, knowlageable staff.
Susan Wyman: Love this book store! Wonderful cultivation of the book selection.

Gator Mouse: This is a gem in Ann Arbor! I haven’t found a brick and mortal bookstore as cute as this one. Many books have handwritten introductions about them, and it is fun to look at stationaries the bookstore offers. I highly recommend you to stop by when you are in downtown Ann Arbor.
Tim Storm: Enjoyed the staff and atmosphere. Books are organized well and many had hand written staff recommendations to help when deciding. If it's busy, the walkways can get congested. Overall, wonderful experience.
Leo: Such a wonderful book store with a great selection. Workers are super nice and I love the reviews of the books on the shelf.
Shreyasi Datta: I really liked this place. It's lovely. They also have stationeries.
Cory Jensen: What a wonderful experience. I have nothing but GOOD things about this. It has older, rare books and an aesthetic that is extremely niche and likeable. He has books all over, and it's an experience I would tell many to experience.
Samuel Zisk: A nice spot for primarily newer books. I appreciate that they have a fairly robust and distinct horror section!
David Phillips (Erlynos): True fellow!
Omid Fotuhi: Such a gem of a bookstore!!! You only dream about walking into a place like this where you just feel the presence of great books around. I also liked that they had a large kids section on the second floor.
Claire Belmont: Beautiful store with multiple levels. Great selection!
Unboiled Egg: Adorable independent bookstore, I wish I lived closer so I could be here all the time. I do really miss the sale section though :(
Jaclyn: Such a great bookstore. It’s my favorite bookstore ever. The books have little handwritten reviews by the staff. It feels like such a special experience
Jean Schachermeyer: Fabulous place for a family adventure.
Wes Tapp: This is a neat bookstore. Staff have recommendations and are helpful. Quaint and fun.
Ro Be: Great selection of new books and fun gifts for nook lovers. They were out of a copy of something I saw there just the day prior and the very helpful staff was nice enough to see if they had any more in stock. When they didn't they ordered it for me and it should arrive in just a few days. Staff recommendations with hand written thoughts all over. Just amazing!
John Tenza: Helpful staff and fun place to buy your books!
Olivia Butts: I visited this bookstore today after passing by it frequently and being interested in one of the books in the window. It's very pretty inside; the store has a very nice vibe to it aesthetically and they had many prints and other items for sale. However, my one star review comes from the fact that I spent about ≈30 minutes in the store, browsing all three floors and was not acknowledged once by any of the employees there. Not even a simple "Hi" or "Hello". Don't get me wrong — I'm not expecting someone to roll out the red carpet for me, but many other customers shopping were greeted warmly and politely.Overall, a nice store but not very welcoming. And if you're wondering.... yes, I am.
Ange McNee: Worth every mile to get from Stratford Ontario to Ann Arbor just to visit Literati! Beautiful bookshop .
Jill: ADORE this lovely bookstore and that it is in downtown Ann Arbor. Hate that when I visited on a recent Saturday 3 staff stood behind counter and appeared imposed upon when asked for help. The help didn't even involve the need for them to move just a question.
Kourosh Maboudi: One of my favorite places in Ann Arbor
Sandra Renee: Great independent bookseller.

Schuler Books: what do users think?
Lauretta Codrington: Loved the friendly customer service.
Wenndy F: Great selection and beautiful place to visit
Philippa Pham Hughes: Fabulous indie bookstore!
Jim Ludwig: Friendly, uplifting atmosphere interesting merchandise
Karrie Schultz: The absolute worst when it comes the the “buy back” program for books. Associates have no clue what their own policies are then back track when you call them out because the last person said something different. A total waste of time.
Nickolay Khazanov: Great bookstore. I guess it's not "independent" anymore but still a nice local place to buy a physical book.
Alexis Reyes: This little book store is bigger on the inside. Great selection of books, games, and toys. Friendly caring staff and right in town. Check it out.
Quincy Hutchinson: This bookstore is a cornerstone establishment as far as shops in the area go. The employees are some of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.If you’re looking for a bookstore in the area, this is the place to go, even just for the customer service alone. I will always support our local shops.
Victoria D: I always have a great experience at this bookstore. The employees are ALWAYS kind, courteous, attentive, and some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. Check this place out!
Leann M: Use to be my go to bookstore for 20 years. Went to day, tried to stand in line, where the sign asks you to. Employee totally ignores us and serves a woman who just walks right up to him. I have to shout to let him know that we are even there. The instructions into getting in line do NOT work and your employees do NOT see customers standing there. I've tried on 4 different notice.Did not buy the books that another employee kindly directed me to. I will buy them on online.
G W: They were, and they always are, very helpful. Nice selection.
Lily Lee: Fall 2022 update business has changed its name to Schuler Books, which has been the parent company for quite some time now. It was recently reported that they've leased the space next door that used to be the Thai restaurant and will be expanding the store. I'm not sure when that'll happen, as no work has started yet.Nicola's is such a gem of a bookstore that's in Ann Arbor. So happy that they are still here and that people love books and bookstores. Wide selection of genres and magazines plus other goodies to make great gifts or for yourself. I'll have to take some pics next time.Well managed with safety protocols and people giving reminders throughout the store. Staff is always willing to help and friendly. Please support a local business!
Christina Lirones: Wonderful local bookstore, filled with dreams and delight. My sister ordered a book from her home in California, for me to pick up here. The book was written by a local author, about growing up on a Michigan farm. This used to be the location of Nicola's books, in Westgate shopping center, near the Ann Arbor Public Library branch. So glad it's still a bookstore!
Finlay Hamm: I like the stuffed things in the window
Danielle Hammelef: This book store has an excellent selection of books from adult to picture books as well as fun bookish and holiday gifts. The staff is so helpful and polite.
Stephen Smith: Best bookstore in Ann Arbor, family friendly and diverse.
MarkaPhotog: Fantastic bookstore. It still says Nicola’s Books on the sign, but it is a Schuler’s. They are the best Michigan bookstore chain IMO. There are tons of magazines, books, games, kids toys and books and so much more. A huge area in the back for someone to read to kids with chairs set up. My wife and I found this recently and made a special trip down to Ann Arbor to visit. Well worth it. Excellent bookstore.
Jim Shillington: This is my favorite indy bookstore. I have shopped here since it was a Little Professor bookstore. The staff are helpful. Special orders are no problem. The selection of titles is quite good.
Courtney Hooper: Every time I’ve been in here, they’ve been horrible to me and my kids. There’s a massive section of toys and stuffies at the front. Yesterday, my son got very attached to 4 of the stuffies, each of which is over $20. He wanted to carry them all around the store with him. I let him, knowing (1) I may buy him the one shaped like a pretzel because he’s seen it in a few stores and wanted it and (2) like anywhere else, I’d have him put them all back. When we walked to the kids’ section and be brought his stuffies, the manager, “Meegan,” literally followed us back there—it’s on the opposite side of the store. She picked up the stuffies he’d set down, brought them to me, and asked, “Are you planning to buy these?” I said I honestly didn’t know, probably one of them but I didn’t know which, but that I’d obviously put them back either way. She rolled her eyes, sighed, put them back down, and stormed off. That’s definitely when I decided to buy the pretzel stuffy absolutely anywhere else. This is the third time I’ve had an encounter where they’ve made me feel like I’m a monster for the sin of having children in a bookstore with a children’s section. (By the way, we did return the stuffies to their spots on the shelf. But honestly? Don’t have a bunch of kids’ stuff for sale if you don’t want kids to actually touch them.)Later, I saw my elderly dad go ask her a question about a book. She didn’t even look up from what she was doing.I’ll continue to support independent bookstores. It’ll just be Literati and Booksweet.
Gloria Badiner: Helpful friendly staff.
Kal Lindstrom: I bought the "just right" 30th birthday present with the help of two helpful womyn clerks. One to sort me to the other, who located the book quickly, even when I didn't remember the authors name. The Book is The Nineties and my daughter was born in 92! I think she'll have fun with it. Pathetically I already forgot the authors name.😂
