Huron High School: what do users think?
zeldy trashforce: This is the best school in the entire land. Huron's wings are much better than Skyline's and you only have to wait 5 minutes for them. Take that, Skyline!
Henry Zhou: This review has been edited to reflect the recent removal of a teacher in the English department.t̶h̶r̶e̶e̶ two stars, since Huron is the 3rd best public school in Ann Arbor according to US news, [but also hosted a potential child predator as a teacher, thus reducing the star count by one.]Now to the meat of the review. The football team gets a lot of funding, despite not having won a single game my whole high school career here. In fact, a top quarter back had to transfer out of Huron, since our O Line was so bad. He is now going to Virginia Tech, a top football school, and is on the team there. Although it's cool to brag about how cool your team looks, since football often is the biggest sport at a school, if you can't back it up with real play, it's completely useless. Some sports, such as tennis, are consistely top 3 in the whole state. In the past 7 years, Huron has won an astounding 4 state titles, yet the courts are about as bad as they can get. In fact, a member of varsity tennis even likened playing home games to guerilla warfare tactics the Viet Cong army used in the Vietnam war. The courts are a very unfamiliar territory to any person who steps foot on the courts due the countless cracks and divots, which are actually a real safety hazard. In fact, now that I think about it, the courts might actually be worse than a Vietnamese Jungle. It really is a shame to have a such a good tennis team, yet such bad courts. Now onto the teachers. It's basically what you can expect. A handfull of really good ones, mixed in with some decent ones, and some bad ones. Not gonna name any names here. [and a handful (actually so far, a single) teacher who is an alleged child predator]Finally, onto the principal. They essentially rule Huron with an iron fist, a totalitarian state, a dictatorship. Want to appeal your NHS rejection? Want to suggest a change to the curriculum? They'll set up a meeting with you alright, but the moment you step into their office, they'll just give you a big middle finger, and not even let you explain your reasoning. They play the judge, jury and executioner, and the student is always guilty. It really pains and angers me to see all the brilliant young minds not get a chance to have their voice be heard.I mean at least our bio teacher isn't a child predator, amirite? [real unfort cuz our English teacher is.]
P&B Sindone: We have had such a great experience at Huron and Ann Arbor Public Schools as a whole. From staff support to academic goals for our children. Students have more options for getting an academic challenge. An increasing number of American high schools offer the International Baccalaureate program like Huron. It offers a rigorous set of courses, and is internationally recognized. Only 830 schools in the U.S. offer the IB program, and 4,000 in close to 150 countries. Unlike AP courses, IB takes a more holistic approach with critical thinking and out of class requirements. It has students look at an issue over time and see how it has impact over parts of the world and how there is that connectivity to it all. It really gets children ready for the world. Also more college credit can be given for IB courses. I am glad my children are challenged in all subject areas at Huron. Also what’s greater than going to school right next to U of M?!
Lin L: worst school
C K: Good school
Jasmine H: campus crusade for Christ alpha omega was a great group back in 03
Cedric Sano: You are. bad
Tyrillium: Deez nuts
Aaron Graf: Let me just say that when you have a teacher, someone who is there and being paid to educate students, look you in the face and tell you that if you don't know something they can't help you. There is something seriously wrong with that. To be added to the fact is that the administration and those of the like in the office continue to let this go on despite having this brought to their attention. My experience with this school was moderately unpleasant. However, There were notable exceptions to the nonsense that went on (e.g. Mrs Wilkinson, Mrs, Miller-Wright, Mrs Krausse, Dr. Ingram.)
Marc Hamady: I had a good experience here (could be better, but it's all good). Go River Rats!!!
Allie Cell: There are tons of extracurriculars supported by a generally accepting student body. There are many classes offered, including lots of AP or AC level classes, which feature good and sometimes great teachers.

Father Gabriel Richard High School: what do users think?
Nathan Harburg: As an alumni I have many great memories of dedicated, Christ-like teachers, some of whom still teach there!
Chris Bowlby: Great school. Great staff that truly care about the success of their students very nice facility as well We have experience with another Catholic high School and I can say this one has been a much better experience.
Diana McCarter: We have two children at this school. The academics are strong, faith formation is excellent and there are plenty of extra-curricular opportunities. We would recommend this school to anyone looking for a solid Catholic High School for their children.

Arbor Preparatory High School: what do users think?
Alex Carr: I do not advise this school honestly if could give it anything lower than one star I would. I’m honestly very surprised that it’s still running given the amount of times they go through staff members also including principals as well each year. Being a former student who went there his freshman year only and transferred out of there INTO LINCOLN which was probably the best decision I made because I was looking for an actual high school experience with no dress code or standards based grading (SBG) which is complete garbage. After the end of my freshman year going into summer I had to retake an algebra course due to lack of help and communication with staff, but the funny thing is I remembered when I signed up for summer school which was known as “recapture” it was totally free, also at Lincoln we have this thing called “credit recovery” and that was also free. Now all of the sudden I’m hearing from a friend of mine in which both me and him been to this school during my freshman year meaning (he stayed and graduated from there after I transferred out of there and graduated from Lincoln) now tells me that you have to pay which is anywhere from $90-$250 which is very ridiculous to retake a high school class that you need in order to graduate in which THEY’RE NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO given how they’re only a high school NOT A COLLEGE. Not mention over the rest of my high school years he would also tell me how bad it had gotten after I left and of course the talk of how many principals and teachers they burned through he told me about the time how he got sent to detention for being late to class because he was using the bathroom during passing time, they have such a terrible disciplinary system with such ridiculous consequences it’s not even funny an example would be getting a referral for not having your shirt tucked in which I and many others think is very stupid. If you’re looking for something to provide your child an amazing high school education I highly suggest you look into WTMC which is an alternate education program funded through Washtenaw Community College. There is an application process like most schools have but generally if you live within washtenaw county your child will most likely be accepted. Not only you will get a good high school education but you’ll get a college education as well and will be way above “college ready” once you graduate. My sister goes there and by the time she graduates not only she’ll have a high school diploma she’ll also have an associates degree in whatever career she is interested in. Did I also mention the courses are free and that there’s no dress code?!?!!!!
Renee' Sinay: My son graduated on June 1, 2018 after attending APHS all 4 years. All the administrators, teachers, & staff are excellent!!! Because of the smaller size, the education is very personalized to each student’s needs. The students are kind & accepting to each other. I already miss everyone. You’ve been like a family. Thank-you so much for providing an A+ college prep high school education to my son!!! He is well prepared for the future!!! 🎓
GLITCHY SAGE: I honestly hate coming to this school, the teachers aren't bad at all, at least the ones that I have right now, and the grading system is fine too, but it's the everything else about it sucks. I feel like this school is slowly screwing over their students and I feel like they want to control them about little things, they go as far of giving you a detention if you're late ONCE! What encouraged me the most about making this review is how they do their "summer school" program. $250, that's how much you need to pay in order to retake a class. 200 and 50 dollars!! Granted, I just heard about this and don't know for sure, but the fact that you have to pay is so dumb, when other schools do it for free. Do yourself a favor and don't take your kids to this bullcrap school.
M7kesWave: If I could give it less than one star I would they are racist also the teachers do not really care about anybody . They want to be a college school so bad they miss the simple facts of mentoring a kid up and helping them mature while learning. Most of the teachers left and also the students too. I am not bashing them in anyway but they need to get themselves together and also get on one accord none of the teachers know what goes on at all.
Amanda C.: If I could rate this school less than 1 star I would. There is so much turn over. The rules and enforcement varies from student to student. Some students have privileges over others. I sent my children here for the diverse learning environment. However, if your children are Caucasian they will be treated differently and held at a different standard than the other students. In 3 years there have been at least 5 different principals. This school sucks! If your looking for a diverse school environment for your student look elsewhere. I would encourage you to read all the reviews here on Google, the school's social media sites and anywhere else.
Nunya Nun: If it was possible to give less than one star, it would be given. Yes, this school is great academic wise, but if you are even the SLIGHTEST bit different from society’s version of normal, you will get eaten alive. The kids at this school have no self respect for the teachers nor themselves let alone other students, will frequently start fights just because, and the rumours there are endless. In the past 2 months a countless number of students have left AP, due to bullying, rumours, hate and even the fact that you barely get help if there are any problems from any of the teachers because at some point they will just say they can’t help, and let you fend for yourself. I do not recommend this school.
SLO AMG: Arbor prep has a great basketball team and good numbers in the charts but the things that go on in the school or are known to the public such as people getting bullied and teachers profiling the kids either as white or black many of the teachers are awful at teaching (Mr chesney, and Mrs. Hughes are fantastic teachers) and can't give the kids that are learning a visual concept of what they are doing in class the school also gives out unfair consequences for example, A kid I knew was getting bullied for weeks on average then when the bully went to his house and fought him The school gave the kid who is getting bullied a 45 day suspension, Now you would think 45 days is bad but if you seen what was happening on the inside of the school this wouldn't seem extreme at all, highschool teens pictures getting leaked, and they would get bullied weeks on average. Then later on you would hear about them being in the hospital and receiving medical attention for them hurting themselves and yet the school has done nothing to even track the students down nor help the hurting kid. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO THIS SCHOOL OR THEY WOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING! Countless other things happen in the school that the principal and board of directors fail to comprehend and acknowledge. If you send your kid to this school not only will they fail in social goals but droop academically, Standard Based Grading is terrible and yet they continue to use it on a everyday basis, Arbor Prep uses their power in terrible ways like masking the things that go on to the school. Like when there was a dozen police at the school in May it was because one of the former students who got expelled made a gun threat on a social media app called snapchat saying he was going to shoot one of the core directors at Arbor Prep, the principal tried to mask this instance by telling the parents and students through email saying that no one was in any "direct" danger when they really were because he was planning to come back to the school after lincons classes ended around 2:30 Arbor prep needs to be monitored closely by a group of non administrators to keep the public informed on what really goes on in the school! Please share this post and I hope you can consider your child's well being through this post.
Erica Hall: This school is average at best. The grading system is slightly wonky and most teachers leave after a year anyway. It's honestly hard to get comfortable at a school where the teachers and the principle change every year. This being my last year, I'm honestly not surprised they changed the end date of the school year and made us start school earlier. The students seem to only use this school as a stepping stone onto another school and most classes cripple your gpa anyway. AP classes seem more like extra work than anything else. During classes all you do is memorize, take the test and lose the knowledge because you have too much to learn. Not to mention that if you don't constantly have your shirt tucked in you get a referral or if you're wearing the wrong type of something you have to disrupt your education and go to the office because of it. I'm surprised we still had a graduating class these past few years with the requirements to graduate. Most students have to stay up to just barely finish their five hours of homework. Overall, Arbor Prep is decent but could be better.
erik manta: Graduate of the class of 2016 at Arbor Prep. Very disappointed though by the principal Mrs. Salazar when I tried to come support my former high school at one of their pep rallies and was denied entry to come support. You would think that high schools would welcome their former students back to the school to support in events like a pep rally.
Lcvisualz (Lcvisualz): Great Learning Environment
Kody Freeman: The school is an average school great education. It's smooth with the teachers and staff the only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars is cause teachers sometimes the teachers comments are complaining about the kids and the work ethic. I get that they are trying to encourage us to strive but they can do it without the smart remarks. It was funny for awhile but it got old. But, all in all its a great school to get you into college. The learning environment is great expect the smart remarks. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants the ability to go to college because of the standards they set for children here.
Bill G: This is a great school with caring teachers and staff.
Toaster Buttles: Do not send your child here. A very bad school. I can't figure out why its still open.~A very unhappy parent
Joshua Messing: On the last day of me being at Arbor Prep, one of my teachers openly criticized my religion and told me to reconsider my belief. I was then told to write a non graded essay to prove i was right. She wouldn't even say goodbye to me after me being a close student for 3 years. The teachers always change and the principle is bad. Drug issues are brought up to the principle and are simply brushed off. Im currently in college and have little need for what Arbor Prep taught. I would not advise this high school
Christine S: WoW! My son is a sophmore and he has grown and learned so much in the past year!! The teachers are wonderful and caring !!! The work is hard...but what a wonderful experience it has been!!So sorry to hear the bad reviews!!! If you are thinking about this school PLEASE check it out yourself and have an open mind!!! You will NOT regret it!!!Blessings!
Luna Delgado: Our daughter has been at AP since 9 th grade- We had some experiences that were ok - most of the teachers/administration treat the kids as if they are ignorant and have no sense- They say it is a no cost college prep, what they dont tell you is once your child reaches the point of taking the AP courses which are a graduation requirement that the tests the student takes for these classes cost you 90.00 per exam- We did some looking around and found WTMC which is a charter high school run by Washtenaw Community College, there is an application process, but our daughter will graduate hs with up to 90 college credits- Meaning an Associates Degree as well as her HS diploma no fees for exams ect.
Emanuel Dumitrescu: It was horrible they have horrible teachers teaching. One of the science teachers is always falling behind grading and just plain doesn't know how to teach. I'd send my kid there only to punish him.
Nathanael Moyer: It's okay

Skyline High School: what do users think?
Will Blischke: Was served expired chocolate milk here, never coming back here again. It tasted a little skunky.
Laila Michelle: Well I like this school I will be going here next year and it doesn't even seem like a bad place to let your children go in highschool
Adam Davis: They hosted a psychic fair once
sohan patil: Chill Place :]
Adarsh Tummala: Pretty nice
Brie Nizhaye: Counselor Ms. Mitchell was so rude. Gave me problems, glad she left. Overall great school amazing teachers! If you are looking for a place to make new friends, come to skyline.
Daniel Kennedy: My flight just never came
Jakub Hann: This school gave me cardiovascular disease and increased my cholesterol by 64% percent, but what should you expect from a communist regime?
Mary Owen: The school and teachers are all amazing. Thank you for everything.
Chris Neme: Bright and airy, modern spaces. A new beggining, a hopeful new world. You ignore that nothing has changed, demanding to be better then your past school experiences. The disconcertedness experienced in this highschool has turned me nostalgic of my middle school days, at least those were a time when I had real friends, who have all gone seperate ways. Now you slowly dwindle, thrown to the side, a social outcast. In it's fair time it has become simply drab and unbearable. You are forced to wonder out into the beautiful nature around, but soon see it to be flawed and unfit, primarily due to the disgusting slab like building's treason against nature itself, and all the awfully planned "green" infrastructure that attends to it. Now we can't even go in the woods, lest the staff catch us and pervert our innocent intentions into great wrong doing, leaving the building during the lunch hour for one to escape the institutes shear conformity is somehow interpretted into leaving the building to cause havoc in the nearby suburbs, planning school shootings, or abusing drugs.Slowly they attemp to meld your mind, tell you what you love and know as your personal ways of thinking are problematic ways of a misfit. Even among the closest persons to friends I associate with, I am still the outsider, misunderstood and constantly misenterpreted, a shear lack of right to individuality. On an architectural level the school is drained of creativity. Harshly symmetrical, yet the infrastructure still leads to troublesome commuting, both inside and out. Entering stair shafts is comparable to turning past a lane of uncoming traffic or forcing a small paddle craft upstream in a rushing turrent. The halls in the wing of the building are uterly crowded at their extreme ends due to "classmates" loitering during passing, a combination of those exiting into the stairs or the central hall area and those coming from these areas. The entire building is cold and drafty, somehow the engineers behind this structure found it wise to have the geothermal water collection point exposed on the narrow top level maintenance floor. The ceilings directly below roofs consistently leak.Recently I have managed to be more social, but at what price? To what ends or reward? In a realm of relative social comfort, my individuallity is still forced to be sold out and neglected, only to weave into a social scape of creativity drained walking stiffs. Stiffs whom bashfully entertain themselves with who's a druggy or who's dating what or what teachers totally blow or engaging in activities on one of multiple mobile internet communities to hide themselves from the fact they are zombies on a practical level, void of a drive to improve the world, but instead the drive repeatedly driven and instilled to be successful and earn "the big bucks", regardless of lack of one contributing to a better environment or society. Peers continue to take me as weak and uncapable due to my humble refusal to join in the mass plan.
Jack C: Imagine a prison. Everybody hates each other, and sections are divided into groups. The guards (teachers) are 1 in 5 good. The math teachers are terrible, with only having a couple with a good attitude. Others, such as llaoro and burton treat the class as if they have mental illnesses, and are only there because they get paid, and have no satisfaction for teaching kids. Not only do teachers and staff abuse their power. Terrible school
Ian Wait (Delphox): I can't and won't judge the school on the teachers, there are good ones and bad ones at every school. The central administration, on the other hand, I can. And here's an example of their amazing skills: Absolutely no one showed up for the first Parent-teacher conferences last year. Why? BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T TELL ANYONE THEY WERE EVEN HAPPENING! THAT'S THEIR JOB!!! I MEAN, I COULD RUN THIS SCHOOL BETTER THEN THAT! Don't even get me started about the rest of it.
esther ᐛ: hate it, the teachers dont even teach and that is the focal point of the problem. they're also unfair and they're very disrespectful to students who never caused trouble and they actually need help on what they're learning. they dont grade on time which is super frustrating and you have to remind them every time to update your grade and it gets to the point where you dont care anymore. the organization is also really frustrating because you don't know what's gonna happen and it messes everything up. also, skytime is super pointless and we'd care more about finishing our homework than to learn about empathy... -5/10
Erik Wolverton: Well first off trying to see your counselor is like trying to meet the president you have to fill out a form and if its important then you have to tell the person the front desk and she has to relay the message! Not just that a lot of the teachers can be very disrespectful to the student and a lot have very short tempers. The "hall monitors" I guess you can call them are very aggressive as my first day I had never been to a big school before so I need help and in asking for help I was called retarded. Also to get on the good side of teachers the most time you have to ether play a sport, not ask any questions, and or be a kiss ass to the teachers. There is a lot of politics played in the school. not to mention when I came to Skyline in the 10th grade they put me in the 9th grade and they wouldn't not change it back so I was stuck in a grade I had already completed, so now im getting my GED as a referral from family who also went there and are doing the same because they endured if not the same worse! Don't let the smiles and help in the first few weeks fool you as soon as you do one thing they don't like your blackballed from any help!!!
Mereyah Jordan: A friendly, and welcoming environment..... recommended for anyone who strives for success and Yearns for comfort
Natan Zekic: The stairs are evil but other than that its realy fun
Casey Klobucar: scarily big and terrible amount of homework but its an ight school
Debbie Turner: 42nd Annual Mother Earth POWWOW
Aaron Green: Its a really good school. Has awesome clubs and events, but dont have very good food tho. Besides that, you should really consider going there.
Teddy Kurihara: I go to this school and it is great. Great School, great people. Bad food tho.I would recommend this school to anyone, you will not regret it.
Arya Sarabandi: bad
