Ten Thousand Villages: what do users think?
Farid Farahanchi: Excellent place to buy gifts
sujana ranjit: I was amazed by how well the store looked with all handcrafted items. Most of them, made with recycled materials. I highly recommend this if you want to get a special gift for someone special.
Yevgeniya Gazman: Absolutely delightful space to explore for unique and meaningful gifts. Lovely and knowledgeable volunteers staff the shop. So much beauty in a myriad of forms.
Amica Patterson: Absolutely Love This Store!
Cassie Shamey: Great store
Don Kaufman: Very unwelcoming store
Stephanie McMullen: I happen to walk by this weekend and I feel in love with the store. They have most unique products. I bought some earrings and I have been getting compliments on them! Thanks for being open, and following safety protocols!
Helena Boulding: They sale Tibetan singing bowls made of brass!! Each item is made by a artisan from different countries. Nice store, and wonderful store clerk. 😊
al “af” f: I've been going here for the past 15 years. I'm always amazed by the available craftsmanship and cost, their items make the best gifts! When supporting Ten Thousand Villages, you are supporting fair trade business, small towns/homes, and developing nations. ALL businesses should utilize Ten Thousand Villages business model approximately.
Suna K.: I just noticed that I gave three stars by mistake. My rating is definitely five stars. I enjoy browsing and shopping there.
Julie Binz: Great unique items while helping women around the world. Staff is also very helpful and friendly.
N Cippon: Always buy a journal when i am here. The owner is very informative
Chris Schenck: This is a really cute shop in Ann Arbor, filled with handmade goods from villages around the world. They have really good prices on some unique and cute stuff! The mission of the shop is to provide aid and spread awareness for the issues faced by these small villages.
Thomas Deren: Original and frequently changing stock, always cheery and helpful employees, and supporting a great cause make this place a treasure!
Matt Burt: Cool shop. I like how they support small artisans from around the world.
Nice Price II: Awesome
Edward Dunne: An interesting array of items from around the world. Their thing is fair trade. They have some nice scarves from Egypt, India, and elsewhere. The cotton or viscose scarves are quite affordable. The silk scarves cost more, but are reasonable for silk. They have a section of games, including fancy chess sets and travel chess sets (made from wood), which are attractive. There is jewelry, too, but I didnt look closely at it. Since the theme is fair trade, the selection throughout is eclectic.
Aileen Price: I left Ann Arbor about seven years ago. I was visiting this week. I was shocked when I went to my local Ten Thousand Villages outside of Philadelphia, and I didn't see anything I wanted to buy. The Ann Arbor store is so well-stocked. It's colorful. The variety of items is just astounding. I need a few $10 gifts for a Christmas party, and I found some unique food items. However, the store was stocked with many things I wanted to put under my Christmas tree from me to me :). I'm so sad my local store isn't this diverse.Beyond the selection, the staff was courteous and very helpful!
Jodie Summers: A lovely place to buy knick knacks and special gifts for people
paul mungar: This place is amazing... The most unique gifts... And a tremendous value... Fair trade... Good Karma
Rosalie Hatfield: Beautiful handcrafted items, helpful purchases, knowledgeable staff

Sur La Table: what do users think?
Amy: I only come here to look at the pricey items I don’t really need for my kitchen but want anyways. It’s fun to pop in when I’m in the shopping area and see what cool gadgets I could implement in my cooking.
Devin Hamlin: I emailed the store several times, as instructed by customer service, to inform them of a food allergy for a cooking class. They never responded, and did not tell us until right before that they would be unwilling to accommodate the allergy, despite customer service reassuring me otherwise via the phone.Manager was to follow up on classes that could be taken with the food allergy and did not.
Jessi Colling: I guess I should be happy I got a refund. I got an email saying my refund was being processed for my cooking class I had booked for my MILs birthday even though I didn't ask for one. I had to call customer service to find out it was canceled. If you can tell your system to email people when they get a refund you can also tell your system to email people automatically when a class is canceled. Guess I should be happy I found out before we drove out there.
Jean R: Meg at Arbor Hills did a super job taking care of a gift card situation.
Christopher Clemmons: Excellent store. I just bought my espresso machine. It was shown as out of stock, but the staff went the extra mile to find it for me and was able to get it in-store.
Chester Lee: Excellent staff and service!
Taco: It's the not the best place, the staff weren't the friendliest people and it took way to long to check out, it's also rather expensive and there's always a problem everytime I went in here about the cash registers, and the staff don't remind you that u don't put ur pin number in because it will say decline.
Courtney Spencer: My family and I (8 of us) booked a cooking class and we’re really looking forward to it! We drove from Battle Creek and Grand Rapids (275 miles round trip, 4 hours driving) only to find out upon arrival that the class has been canceled, noting we should have received an email and a refund. All 8 of us in our group checked for said email and/or refund which none of us had received. Another group of 4 came in shortly after us and we’re told the same thing. 12 people arriving for the same class indicates this was a system failure on Sur la Table and the fact that we were told to reach out to customer service on our own, for a refund is baffling to me. For a store marketing they have the finest cookware and exquisite dining experiences, one would think they should have the customer service to match. In reading these online reviews, it’s apparent we aren’t the first individuals this has happened to, indicating this method of canceling class has failed before. The waste of time, money, and minimal effort on the brand to help make this right is incredibly disappointing.
Jeff Layman: Our family loves Sur La Table, so for our holiday get-together we booked a cooking class. We all drove in to Ann Arbor from Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, only to find out the class had been cancelled. No phone call, no email, no refund (as of this writing) and hours of wasted time. We were given a polite apology and a phone number to call Customer Service - that’s it. We couldn’t be more upset.
Patricia Deldin: We were scheduled for a class this morning and they didnt show up. Plus their customer service was totally unhelpful and in the Philippines. With how much they charge, they should have u.s. workers and better service.
Lisa Oconnell: Arrived at 7:10 p.m. to see two workers inside near cash register ignoring all the people (12-15) at the door for a store that is supposed to close at 8 p.m. Really? Monday before Christmas - no reason given. I drove 25 minutes to get there! They just don't care!?! I hope the other 12 people write a review too.
Giselle Stitt: Got myself a new Cuisinart Coffee Maker and a really good Knife. Happy Birthday to Me!!!
William Young: Wonderful dishes! I typically have gotten the Shashuka breakfast which is really good but this time I went outside my bubble and ordered the cold smoked salmon omelet which was delicious; next time I'm definitely getting Alan's Mishmash! A friend of mine ordered that & it looked and smelled amazing!
Lindsey Mott: The staff here is incredible! Will definitely be back!
Aylin Jerkins: Took a cooking class here. It was such an amazing time! Our instructor went at the right pace for us to keep up and was very patient. The food was fun to make and delicious. We learned a lot of new tips and tricks. The instructor was not pushy at all to buy their products after and was very straightforward on what was needed. Would definitely recommend for a fun night out with anyone.
Elizabeth Lombard: Their baking/cooking classes are INCREDIBLE. I’ve taken two now, and the instructors are so knowledgeable and skilled, but also adept at explaining complex techniques to inexperienced bakers like myself. I always end up buying some of their products in the store, and the staff always have fantastic recommendations and really know their stuff.
Shawna Gerry: Received a date night cooking class from my daughter for Xmas! We had a blast! We had booked two more classes, but they were canceled because of a kitchen emergency. We were refunded for them.
Marjory Luther: Unable to reach by phone
Skylar Ross: If there was a cliff, I would have jumped.By far the biggest disappointment of the holidays. Started off with walking around the store with my wife waiting for the date night “cooking class”. Not a single employee said anything until we brought up we were there for a cooking class. That was about 15-20 min after entering. Once the class started Phil the “chef” lead off with slander towards my profession. Great first impression. My wife and I figured we would brush it off and move on. As the class went on, we soon learned this was not a date night cooking class, more like a commune cooking class. Combined all the potatoes everyone cut into one pan. Instead of duck fat, we used olive oil. We were assigned to cut a shallot, apparently the shallot we chopped wasn’t needed…. So why did we cut and waste food?!? About 45 minutes in we begin with the steak…. Our cooking partners next to us were going to cook our steak because there wasn’t enough cooking stations…… we were floored. I walked out and spoke with the manager and was in total disbelief at what we had just gone through. We left and went to shake shack across the street. Phenomenal!Chef Phil was very unprepared, now you know why he has bounced around from job to job and state to state. To bad he doesn’t have my profession….
Tayler Swinson: BY FAR the best store attitude & customer service! Dory was extremely patient with me as I asked her 1,000,001 questions about their Jura specialty coffee makers. She was even so kind to me that she walked my purchase out to my car. Talk about customer service! If you want anything for your kitchen this is the store to go to
Carol Parent: Very fun Macaron class

Caravan Gift Shop: what do users think?
Pat Carroll: Just bought some gifts here at this beautiful shop. The clerk was great. Take the time to go to Nickels Arcade and shop local!
Miriam Meisler: So helpful to me in finding just the right things. Lovely people.
Mike Cherry: Most unique gift store in Ann Arbor. Wonderful things for all over the world and a great selection of locally sourced merchandise. Great cards too. Knowledgeable and friendly ownership of one of the oldest shops in Ann Arbor. In nickels arcade
kathy stucky: This is such a unique shop! I must warn you this is not a shop you want to run in and out of. There is so much to see of quality and unusual items. From jewerly, pottery cards, and nutcrackers just to name a few items. Everyone is so kind and helpful. One of my must go to shops when I'm in Ann Arbor!
Mia Wotton: I love this shop. They have unique items-- jewelry as well as various curiosities and intriguing oddities. Sometimes I come in just to wander as if I were at a museum. I bought my favorite pair of earrings here. The family running the store are both kind and knowledgeable.
Frederick Conrad: I have been a very happy and satisfied customer of the Caravan Shop for about 10 years. I have mostly bought jewelry but have purchased other items as well. Every piece in the shop is obviously chosen with care; the proprietor has impeccable taste. The prices are fair, especially in light the artistry in each piece. The staff is knowledgeable and makes very helpful suggestions (almost all of my purchases are for gifts). And they seem genuinely grateful for each sale. They have never, once, applied any pressure to make a sale. Every purchase is beautifully giftwrapped. I often procrastinate before shopping for gifts in part because I am confident I will find just what I am looking for at the Caravan Shop, just in the nick of time.

16 Hands: what do users think?
Shiba eat U: 有質感的禮物 稍高價位
Harish Shankaran: Very pricey
Divided Sky: Stumbled upon this store after a visit to the open air holiday market. Lots of unique and original items and great gift ideas. We feel lucky to have found this felt cat house sourced from Nepal. Ww were to excited for Bowie to wait for Christmas morning. The staff was friendly. Many patrons wearing masks as it was a cramped store with all of the product and holiday shoppers.
C M: A fun and unique shop! I saw these pieces of art and loved them but wasn’t ready to buy them. The worker was very helpful and wrote all the info down so I could order them later. I called 2 months later and he again was very helpful and I got them shipped to my house. Love them!
Betsy Price: Staff at 16 Hands were super helpful and friendly, enabling me to get exactly what I needed when I was unable to visit the shop. Thank you!
Maddy M: Wandered in this shop with my brothers today while doing Minerva's escape (check out decode Detroit). The staff here warmly welcomed us and helped us pick out some cool prints to take home. The art, jewelry and items here are all super cool andwand priced. They even gift wrapped some gifts we bought for family and friends. If you're looking for a cool place to look for art, jewelry, and other beautiful hand crafted goods this is a wonderful place to ship.
Kevin Miller: Great little gift shop!!!
Stephen Layton: Great place for some gifts.
Brett Huffmaster: friendly staff. beautiful items throughout the store. highly recommend.

Cherry Republic | Ann Arbor: what do users think?
D Gilmer: I stumbled upon this place and walked in. To anyone else who does the same: Do a free cherry wine tasting! Unique and tasty wines, and you can try up to 6 wines for free. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. Try the many samples of food products as well!
Amanda LaVictoire: Stopped in over the weekend to sample cider & wine. Loved the dark chocolate cherries and the ciders we tried were delicious! So many things to sample and everything was great!
David Phillips (Erlynos): At CHERRY REPUBLIC how?
Egemen Aras: Nice place to treat yourself and get some great prize for loved ones ✌️
Beth Andersen: This is my go-to place for buying birthday gifts for the chefs in my family. I received terrific customer service and they even had a special deal for shipping so they sent off my gift to Montana. I just heard that the gift was received with GREAT delight! Thank you!
Nope Nope: Overpriced tourist stuff. That said, it’s pretty good overpriced tourist stuff. The kids love the gummies and other candies, we like the jams and regular dried cherries for eating out of hand. It’s pricey, you could get similar for cheaper at local grocers, but it’s all pretty good.
FRANZL: Chocolate milk covered cherries. That's it
Ali Akhavan Safaei: Nice a friendly place to get Michigan's special products for yourself or for your family and friends as a gift package! Lots of good vibes, and super nice staff.
John Couperthwaite: This place has so much of what makes Michigan great! All of their products are delicious and they have great samples on rotation. I loved the medium cherry salsa and the late harvest reisling. I was so glad i could try the wines before making a decision, but they are all amazing! Dakota was especially helpful with all of our questions and shipped our gifts to share with friends in New Jersey. Their flatrate shipping is unbeatable. This is our new go-to spot for sharing Pure Michigan with our friends!
Alexander Wong: Free samples and delicious food!
AJ Kavanaugh: Expansive selection and friendly staff
許智能(Sodio Hsu): good local cherry products
K R: Samples are greatIf you live in Michigan cherries might be a part of life. This chain store has several locations and always has samples available. There are sweets to try, I sampled the dark chocolate cherry, my favorite. I also tried the white chocolate covered cherry, it was sweeter than I'd like. The guest service was great. Some locations do cherry wine tasting if you're of age. If you prefer saltiness, you can try a pretzel dipped in cherry salsa or cherry BBQ sauce.
Drew Hunt: Awesome store! Being from out of state it was fun to see a whole store dedicated to a staple food here. The free samples we’re really fun giving you a taste of several of their delicious foods. The Cherry Root Beer is fantastic and reasonably priced for a specialty food. The staff were all really helpful. Beautiful store with fun atmosphere and a wide product selection! In my opinion easily the coolest store on the street!
Richard Riley: We aren't from the area but get our here 1-3 times a year, and often make time to detour to Cherry Republic when we do. The staff is delightful, the store is lovely, and the various cherry treats/products are mostly excellent. They offer tasting stations for several of their products as well, including several of their wines, jams, and salsas. I definitely recommend stopping in when you're in the area.
BM Fitzsimmons: A classic unlike any other.
Bettye Cart: We ordered 2 huge bottles of cherry pie filling cant wait to try. The milk chocolate covered cherries were the most delectable flavorful! I should have ordered a big bag! Grateful my DIL's mom turned me on to her home state of Michigan!
Sean Murphy: The place to go for anything cherry, the late harvest riesling is good
Tom Nelson: You can't leave without something delicious. They have samples all over the room and it is all so good. Next time you're in MI, plan to stop at one of their locations for a taste of MI.
Nicole M: Do the wine tastings of all the amazing cherry wines! Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Who knew? So many good finds for food/drinks or anything else. Definitely need to stop at one when in Michigan
Joe M: Great selection of Michigan Made, Cherry flavored products. Each is of high quality and tastes so good! My personal favorites are the Cherry Salsa, Cherry BBQ sauce, and Cherry Ketchup. A must visit if you're in the area!

The Kitchen Loft: what do users think?
Kevin Miller: Friendly staff, variety of items
Jess Liang: I was thrilled about the variety of items, especially the cute aprons. It felt like a Williams-Sonoma, but more approachable. One star off because I had a Visa rewards card with $20 and for whatever reason, the shop's system would not take it (the clerk was kind enough to tell me, "it's not your card, it's us"). I was told that management is aware of the problem but hadn't been getting to it, which is disappointing. I hope that gets rectified sooner rather than later. I'd really been hoping to use it for this shop.EDIT: I've noted the response from the shop below, and FWIW, my card had been activated and I knew the balance. I don't know whether or not that's a good data point, but it might help when troubleshooting.
Madeline Dahl: I am so thrilled Ann Arbor has a locally owned small business like this! We needed a good kitchen store and this absolutely fits the bill. I’m impressed with how much they fit into their small space. All of the essentials for the dedicated home cook and some delightful non-essentials too. This will be my go-to from now on.
Donna Lahiff: The Kitchen Loft is a very fun place to shop. The variety is awesome. I was pleased to find exactly what I was looking for, too - clear ramekins. I have looked high and low in big box stores with no luck so kudos to The Kitchen Loft. I happened to drop in the weekend before Christmas and the sales associates were very calm, helpful, efficient and so personable, too. I will return.
Bridget Vis: This is a great new store in Kerrytown! I found almost all of my holiday gifts here. The staff was super helpful and very friendly (I'm in a boot and they went above and beyond to make sure I didn't have to walk or carry too much around the store). I was able to find a lot of unique items and many made locally or in Michigan. I would highly recommend checking them out and supporting the new shop!
