Emily Finn: Want your wedding to be epic? Hire Derek to be your DJ!No words in the English language can convey how truly incredible Derek from The Block Party is! When we were planning our wedding and looking for entertainment, we happened to ask our photographer (Jill DeVries, also amazing!) if she could recommend an amazing DJ to us. She told us Derek from the Block Party DJ’ed HER wedding and everyone was on the dance floor all night. Knowing that’s exactly what we wanted, we contacted Derek for a meeting and immediately following our very first conversation, we knew we had to hire him. He was so warm, listened to our ideas/what we wanted sincerely, and left us feeling so pumped up for our big day and how epic it was going to be! Even throughout our whole wedding planning experience, Derek was always so quick to answer a text or email, like talking to a friend. I mean… he’s just an amazing person!! As a DJ, Derek has incredible taste, deep passion for what he does, and has so much expertise. He is also amazing at reading the room, can seamlessly weave songs together, and gives every part of the night the atmosphere it calls for. So long story short, we cannot recommend Derek highly enough. We’d be the luckiest to be able to be on another one of his dance floors!
Meg Nicholas: I used The Block Party for my wedding near Grand Rapids in September and both Derek and Wes were great to work with! High quality DJs with a lot of experience. They were great at getting to know us and our style and preferences, so they could customize the playlists to us and our specific wedding. Wes DJ'd the wedding and we received so many compliments on the songs he was playing and how friendly and fun he was with all the guests. I would highly recommend using The Block Party if music and setting the right vibe for your wedding is a priority!

Sarah Adelson: Derek made our wedding and reception SO easy. First of all, he's unique and different with the vinyls...it is really cool that he does things this way and a slight difference from other weddings we've gone to! Secondly, he will create mixes perfectly for you - we requested some weird stuff and he made it sound amazing! Thirdly, he is SO easy to work with and responsive, he worked with our timeline, all of the rooms he needed to set up in, made it easy for payments to be made, and also even moved our wedding once due to the pandemic and had no qualms doing so. Lastly, he plays great music and makes it a PARTY! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great time.
Val Kory: Wes DJ'ed for our wedding in October, and he was AMAZING. These guys seriously know what they're doing, and working with Wes to finalize everything before the wedding was so much fun. We got married at a venue with some pretty cool Motown music history, and he was able to use that influence really beautifully throughout cocktail hour especially, and into the rest of the night. We also had a long list of guest requests that he did a great job sorting through and incorporating in a way that flowed with the vibe all night. Plus, even just Wes's personal energy and vibe was so great at our wedding; we knew we were in great hands, AND it felt like having another friend there at the DJ booth. Totally recommend!

His attention to detail and passion for bringing people together through music made him the best DJ I could have hoped for. We had originally booked The Block Party for our wedding at The War Memorial on 10/3/20 but due to COVID-19, we had to rearrange everything and scale down our ceremony. We reached out to Derek to see if he would be willing to drive up to our new venue which was, not even exaggerating, a cabin in the middle of the woods. Derek showed up and delivered. Casey Haberland: Pat was awesome to work with! He made it very easy during the planning beforehand, and was helpful in selecting songs for the day. He was also very adaptable the day of the wedding, as we had to move up our cake cutting due to the heat. He also knows how to get a crowd moving - our families aren't very big dancers but once people got onto the dance floor they never left until the night was over. Would definitely recommend him to anyone else looking for dj services for their wedding!

Harbor House Apartments: PK was awesome! He was very professional and brought all of his equipment to set up early and in a timely manner. Lindsey Wagner: PK hosted a boat party for my nephew's 8th grade end of the year celebration in Detroit and he nailed it! He kept the kids dancing and entertained the entire time, and even played music the other teachers and chaperones wanted to hear too. He came to set up early, and even stayed a few minutes extra to play music while we were cleaning up. His school will definitely be using him again!

Gifts and party gear for them! He made every effort BEFORE our events to make sure we had all the songs and procedures of the parties. He also made on fly requests! At one event, he played hours longer and kept an awesome night going! He understands the needs of his clients and never disappoints! He made a point to meet with my (now husband) and I about a month before our wedding so he could make a schedule for us. He was on time, his communication with me from the beginning was very good and his equipment was updated with a Halloween themed dj booth lots of lights and fog machine. Rozzie Bloch: Jamie was a fair DJ.I hired Jamie to DJ for Michigan State's annual Honors College Ball. For his price, he was fair, but we have had better DJs in the past. I rated him as such because of his music selection, transitions, and manner during the dance.Pros:Jamie arrived early and set up independently with no issues.Payment was flexible and easy.He included great lighting and a fog machine. He also passed out glow necklaces.Equipment included.Willing to make the commute.Played the classic instructional dance songs like Cha-Cha slide.Cons:Music selection: Jamie gave me the choice of giving him a set playlist or letting him feel the crowd throughout the night. I trusted him with feeling the crowd, suggesting top 40s with some good throwbacks.However, often there were times were he played a song no one knew and the dance floor stood still. I would give him requests, which he would take, but he often seemed confused with titles/artists of popular songs I would suggest - even playing off-brand/strange versions of them. He would take odd requests from guests, even playing one extremely inappropriate song (which he quickly agreed to change once I asked).Transitions: there would often be 4-5s of silence in between each song, like he didn't know which one to play next.Manner: Jamie took several smoke breaks throughout the 3 hours we had him DJing. He would often disappear for a song or two.Overall, we will be looking elsewhere for a DJ next year.

Nick Collins: We had Derrick and Quan as our DJ/MC for our wedding on 1/21/23.When I say that 5 stars is too low of a rating, I mean it.From day 1, they were going above and beyond to do everything they could to make our wedding as perfect as it could be. Introduction meetings, learning who we are as people, as a couple, what type of music we like, what type of vibe we want at our wedding - they acted as coaches and friends as much as they were a company whose services we purchased.There was not a single time in our planning phase where we thought, for even a moment, that we made the wrong decision. Derrick and Quan were the most easy going, low maintenance, yet helpful and instructive vendors we had the pleasure of working with.They made our wedding.Out of the 130 guests at our wedding, there was not a single one that was not up and dancing at some point, and almost all of them said "your DJ is incredible."They turned it from a party and celebration, to an experience that our guests would never forget.It honestly bums my wife and I out that the wedding is over, because it means we don't have the opportunity to continue working with them.Derrick, Quan - if either of you are reading this, thank you so much for everything that you did for Katie and I. You took so much stress off our plate, and there was not a single moment where we didn't have full faith in your ability to give us the wedding we had always wanted. We couldn't have been more thrilled with how the experience went.Their process was very detailed and easy, Abay held multiple virtual meetings with me and my fiancé beforehand to layout expectations, schedule, playlist and guest experience for the evening. I was afraid that my guests were not going to be up dancing or that he would not be as involved, but he hit everything spot on. Ally Ylo: DJDC Productions and DJ Just B (Brian) were the PERFECT addition to our wedding vendors. They executed all of our requests to perfection, keeping the timeline moving and keeping the night going. The DJ is a make or break of a wedding, and DJ Just B MADE our wedding. chelsea gallagher: Abay (DJ Adrenalin) was amazing! We had booked another DJ months before our wedding, but unfortunately, he ended up with Covid, but arraigned for Abay to fill in. We met with Abay the Thursday night before our Saturday wedding and we instantly loved him! He has such a cool vibe and was able to jump in on very short notice and make our wedding wonderful, and he had never even been to the venue before! He was so good at getting everyone hyped up, and was able to work in all of our weird song requests seamlessly (like All I Want For Christmas as the encore song, and somehow wanted a LOTR song played). He also fully encouraged and got into our Emo Hour at the end of the night - which was probably one of my favorite parts of the night! I would highly HIGHLY recommend him!
Cindy Alonzo: Dj Adrenalin (Abay) was called to duty on 10/22/22 at the Detroit Golf Club when my client's original DJ caught covid.As a planner I am naturally apprehensive of working with new people since I got my own peoples! My client was upset when plans changed so close to her big day. But it's the pandemic and this is the new norm in our industry. With only a few days to spare, Abay and I were in constant communication to ensure the bride and groom's vision exceeded expectation. He genuinely took the time to reassure them before their wedding day and got them pumped up and ready to celebrate.The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception was handled with ease. I wish I could describe how radiant my brides smile was when Abay made an impromptu call and gave the best grand entrance my client didn't even realized they needed. They were elated. Abay was punctual, naturally reads the room to keep guests on the dance floor, is flexible with any customization (even emo music! -requested from my client hehe) and holds the timeline steady without a single complaint. Kari Paine: DJ Adrenalin is an incredible DJ! He is a master at working the room and magically getting everyone to the dance floor at different times. As a wedding photographer, I see a lot of DJs and I can say that Abay is one of the best. At a recent wedding we worked together, he mixed a full slate of Soca music for the groom's family (many of them from Trinidad) and they LOVED it. I have never seen such a hype dance floor! Abay even got out onto the dance floor and taught people how to do Soca dance moves.For any marriers looking for a great DJ and amazing human, DJ Adrenalin is your person. He is LGBTQ+ friendly, as well, and has worked with couples of every background.
Ashley Waite: Derrick and Michial completely exceeded every expectation we had for them. They listen to what you want, interact with the crowd and get them excited to be on the dance floor. We saw them at a previous wedding, convinced our friends to use them at their wedding, then had them again for ours and they kill it every time. Patrick Cornelius: Working with DJDC Productions and DJ Rob Beatz was AWESOME. Derrick was so organized and did a wonderful job helping us figure out exactly what we needed for our wedding and reception. Despite how busy he is, Derrick always checked in on us and made sure every logistical detail was handled. He also was able to figure out that Rob would be a perfect fit for us.I cannot say enough about how awesome DJ Rob Beatz is, he worked so hard with us to nail down a playlist, brought wonderful suggestions and creativity and all of our guests and family agree that he was spinning fire and kept the dance floor bumping for hours on end. Our wedding and reception were PERFECT and Rob was a huge part of it.
Samantha Pitlock: DJ Danny and Bryce from DJ DC Productions were the cherry on top of my absolutely perfect wedding day. They noted every detail and executed perfectly. The dance floor was jam packed the entire night. I personally think a DJ can make or break your wedding and DJ Danny absolutely killed it at mine. From a Spotify playlist we sent him and the entries we made on the DJDC forms, Abay perfectly constructed the music for us from ceremony through dinner through reception. I mean... his set finished and we invited him in to eat desserts and chat with just the family. We followed up with text convos the next couple days to talk about what a great job he did and how we hoped to see him again soon just to be friends. This company was the perfect choice and Abay was the perfect DJ. He absolutely crushed it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

jay winkler: Abay and DJDC productions were amazing. First of all, they worked with us through two postponements and made that process easy. Abay met with us multiple times before the wedding to make sure he understood our desired vibe and music preferences. When the day came, Abay ran through the big stuff (first dances and the like) with us one more time to make sure he had it right and then did a great job emceeing. Our dinner playlist was the perfect mix of crowd pleasers and our more eclectic selections. The dance floor had people on it all night, especially over the last hour or so of the night. Once Abay figured out what was really hitting with our crowd, he took that energy and kept it going for the rest of the night. It was an amazing night and the work Abay and DC did were a big part of that. Thank you!!!

Reesha was energetic and absolutely a delight with the guests. Set-up and take-down were both unobtrusive and efficient. And, everything was affordable. Last night was my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah party and everyone had an amazing time. They did a fantastic job at keeping the party flowing and high-energy, without my having to worry about any detail. The hora was fantastic, the kids had so much fun with the games, Toros smoothly stepped in when we were having trouble with the sound on the montage and helped us fill the time while the venue figured out the problem (which was unrelated to Stealth or any of their equipment). They are an absolute pleasure to work with - great communication with Eric prior to the event - and easy to work with both of them during the party. They are reasonably priced, very professional, and absolute experts at what they do. Very highly recommend them!
Eric Mintz: DJ Eric and MC Toros did an INCREDIBLE job at our daughter's Bat Mitzvah this past weekend. Eric was extremely professional and made sure all our needs were met - he played an excellent selection of music and transitioned from candlelighting to montage to dancing perfectly. Probably one of the best hora's we've ever seen! MC Toros was absolutely incredible. His interaction with the kids and adults kept the energy level high and he even handled filling time when we couldn't get the montage audio to play. The games played were a ton of fun and everybody commented how it was one of the best Mitzvah parties they're ever been to. Even the adults had a blast! We could not have asked for a better experience and at a fraction of the cost of some of those "other" DJ's. Well worth the investment and we highly recommend Stealth DJ's for any event!
