Do-It-Yourself Auto Center: what do users think?
Troy B: Rude, rude, rude. That Carynn is not cut out for human interaction.
George Doughton: Get place to work on your vehicle. Especially in the winter months
Jordan Spahr: This place is excellent. The staff are VERY helpful, and the environment is great. They have tools if you forgot something at home, and lifts if you're like me and tired of working on your garage floor in the cold. Worth the fees because my time is valuable, and I got a lot more done on the lift than it's possible on the floor.Service:Steering suspension replacement
A Smith: Very clever idea!Did my rust treatment.
A. N. Mansell: Great automotive repair place if you want to rent a hoist/lift and do your own work. Tools are available if you have none.
Nikhil Chandra Konda: Very helpful staff, will guide you through anything if needed. A good place to fix anything by ourselves.
N Mickhail: Sounds awesome
Shawn Watson: I did not use all services offered , only reason for 4 stars. I got an inside lift during in winter in Michigan for $22 and was able to chang all the differential oil on my truck. Was also able to dispose of all the waste oil. In my opinion , an outstanding value. Friendly and professional staff.
life of the caprice: Love this place and the customer service make sure u check this place out
Rob Robinson: The BEST PLACE TO WORK ON YOUR CAR OR PAINT IT
C M: As a layman, my expectations were exceeded. Staff was patient, patrons were friendly. No negatives to report.
Guy Cr: Excellent place
Andrew L.: Came here to replace a wheel bearing. This was the first thing I've done to my car that was more than just an oil or tire change. Even though I had a repair manual and had watched videos for how to do the repair,b there were still a few times when I didn't know what I was doing. The in house mechanics were incredibly helpful to show me the little mechanic techniques my engineer brain didn't know about, and they did it in a way that didn't make me feel like I was out of place either. I'd recommend this place to anyone who has some basic knowledge on how to use tools and perform basic maintenance who wants to have a place they can try to expand their skillset without having to buy your own equipment.
Joseph.Lighting: For those people who prefer to repair our own trucks and suvs this is heaven(unless you have a lift at your home garage)
Joe Ferraro: Awesome that something like this exists. Not able to get my truck in the garage to work on it in the winter to this place was totally worth the money so I could do some maintenance. Will be back again next winter if needed.
Drew Franklin: Able to repair your vehicle cheaply. You can rent a bay with or without a lift and rent hand or pneumatic tools for as low as $5 an hour. Fixed my car replacing two tie rods and a control arm for less than $70! Fully recommend!
Casandra Young: Very helpful staff!
John Richmond: DISHONESTLoses contracts and makes them up on the fly and lie.Show proof of our copy DATED A DAY BEFORE and they ignore.AVOID
Bee Reall: Clean, well equipped, well-maintained. Friendly people .The owner is a pleasure to speak with.
Michael Mitchell Sr.: Excellent place a mechanic's dream playground must haves for elders

Maker Works: what do users think?
Brooke Marshall: Amazing resource, super-friendly community, good vibes all around.
Matthew Ritchey: I really appreciated the friendly inclusive atmosphere and was surprised as to the breadth of knowledge among the staff and regulars.
phoebbie brassow: Fun and awesome experience
G Brandolino: A maker space that's truly welcoming to everyone, resourceful and friendly staff, great variety of tools. A local treasure!
Kc DIxaday: Maker works literally changes people's lives. I think it is an unknown vital resource to our community. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The tools are robust and in good working order. Spending your time and money there can enrich your life more than any other service you can buy in Ann arbor. If I could give it 10 stars I would. At the very least get a tour and have your mind blown.
John Merlin Williams: Recently took a class which included building and taking home (!) a small desktop CNC router. An all-day class (well, it IS more complicated than building a birdhouse : -) but extremely well-organized, with an incredibly detailed, take-home build and operations manual they wrote in-house. Included an introduction to open source software for basic design, CAM, and CNC operation of the router. The attendees ranged in age from 12-ish to 70+ (me). I've never worked with CNC, but this made it very approachable.
Josh Brucksch: Did not know this place existed until a friend showed me. Great selection of high quality tools. Took the CNC ShopBot class this past week and it was really informative and well done. Will be back!
Francis Esmonde-White: I love maker works. So will you (I hope & expect). Stop by to take a free tour and you will see what I mean. It's one of the most interesting places in Michigan. The breadth of different tools is astounding. Is rare to have any project that can't be done here (excluding things that require hazardous materials). The classes are fun and extremely helpful, even to people with some previous experience with the relevant tools and techniques. The instructors and staff are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, interesting, friendly, and welcoming. The environment and culture at maker works spreads to members and visitors alike. There are also many community groups that hold interesting meetings at maker works, in addition to community events that maker works puts on.
Bonnie Cervantes: Friendly service, knowledgable staff
Matt Glover: Love it here!
Scott Cleveland: Makerspace is not an easy thing to run. This one is run very well. Their staff are all absolute rock stars! Everyone should strive to have such great people come together.
Kelly Oneill: Shop has a good selection of machines and provide appropriate instructions. Staff is responsive and helpful.
D.Cherie Buck: Love the people here, they help make my project possible!
James Boston: Maker Works and its impressive array of industrial and commercial class machinery is a unique and valuable asset to the Ann Arbor community. Most people would never have access to the class of equipment at Maker Works unless they were a professional in that particular trade. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The check-out classes for the various machines are thorough and educational. Pricing is more than fair and the other members are friendly and easygoing.Being October of 2020, Covid is still very much a public health concern. In my opinion, the measures in place at the facility to mitigate risks associated with Covid are sufficient without being excessive. If you need access to equipment, space, and knowledge to pursue your crafts, get over to Maker Works and get your crafting groove on!
Jeff Ceo: Maker Works is my go-to workshop for tools and expertise for a professionally finished product - regardless of your craft. I built a butcher block table top to a size I could no longer finish within my own workshop. Maker Works has professional grade equipment to handle the biggest jobs with experts there who are happy to guide you.
Gayle Martin: Wonderful place to get a project done. And they are very helpful.
Drew Zuniga: Al was a fantastic instructor and we learned a lot in a short amount of time. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn more about design and/or crafting!
Lana Krolikowski: I have been a member for several years and this place is one of the most magical on Earth (Sorry Disney). You can learn how to make almost anything, you can get help with projects, you can use a workshop full of tools that I would never be able to afford all of on my own, and they fix things when they break so fast you never even know something happened. Their emphasis on safety makes learning new things feel very comfortable and everyone is so darn friendly. I could not recommend them more if I tried, go get a tour and check them out for yourself!
William Patton: Hadn't been doing woodworking since 8th grade. Suffice it to say, decades ago. Took multiple classes to familiarize myself with the modern equipment and got right into my projects. Great environment to learn. Tools great. Very friendly and helpful spot. Plan on staying involved with the workshop.
Sandra Bernhard: This is a great place. Friendly very knowledgeable people who share all their knowhow.

Convenience Auto Service: what do users think?
Stilian Stoev: Honest and straightforward people. Extremely professional service and quick turnaround on a fairly complicated job.
MJ Maloney: Great People
Eric Osborn: Convenience Auto SAVED MY CAR. The dealership told us we needed a new head gasket for my 2005 Toyota Corolla. Cost? Almost $4,000. We were not going to pay that for an 18-year-old car so we immediately began car shopping. Still, something nagged at me. The dealership had seemed sketchy and my experience thus far hadn’t been the best. Was it worth getting a second quote?I decided to give it a try. I found Convenience Auto and read their great reviews. I called them to ask for a quote on a new head gasket. Surprisingly, they told me that often the dealer misdiagnoses the oil leak and they’d rather take a look first. They did look, TWICE, and confirmed that is was not the head gasket that was leaking oil, but a different part that the dealership had “repaired” months earlier! If I hadn't call them, our car would be gone!Throughout the process Justin and Garrett were outstanding. Answering my thousand questions patiently, shuttling me back and forth from home while they repaired the car, and generally being amazing! Everything they did was to steer us towards less expensive options that were better for the car and better for us.This is customer service at its finest and the car has run great ever since. If I had followed the dealership, our car would probably be gone forever but instead, we’re driving it every day and loving not having a monthly auto loan. Thank you guys! You have earned my business for a long time to come!Service:Engine repair
Jim Picklo: Very Professional.... great job and the price was very reasonable.Service:Auto brake replacement
Bob Compton: Outstanding repair shop from Justin in the front office to all of the staff and mechanics! Hands down a top notch shop that strives on customer service!
Amanda Keeton: Love coming here! They always make sure I am taken care of! They are kind, courteous, willing to help, understand the car talk that I don’t understand.Services:Tires,Auto battery replacement,Brakes,Oil change
Richard Urbis: This is a fantastic facility with friendly staff that really knows what they are doing. Highly recommend!Services:Auto engine diagnostic,Oil change
Linda Young: I have been coming to Convenience Auto consistently for at least 9 years for all my maintenance needs. Quality work, dedicated staff, personal service, and repairs with a value laden price are reasons I continue to return. Unnecessary repairs are never an issue. Convenience Auto on Jewett Ave.. is the first call I make for all my car needs.
Dan Moore: honest service at a fair price by people who care.Service:General repairs maintenance
Ann Ryzok: Convenience Auto Service is a great local business. They did an outstanding job fixing my car. I found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are reasonable and I highly recommend them.
George Fuksa: Mike's a great guy who is honest and forthright. Honesty goes a long way and would trust Mike with all my needs.
Gizell Maloney: Friendly service, clean shop, fixed my car on time for the price we discussed. Will definitely be back in the future!
Roger Funk: We have an older car that needed someone that could diagnose an engine problem we were experiencing. We had heard about Convenience Auto from friends and decided to give them a try. We was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organized the shop looked and that they figured out our problem at a reasonable price. We highly recommend this place.Service:Auto engine diagnostic
tony dimambro: Best repair convenientFastService:Auto body trim repair
Karen Spirl: Service was wonderful. The crew are professional, kind and speak so that you can understand what they are doing. I highly recommend Convenience Auto Service in Ann Arbor. Totally satisfied with what they did to my vehicle.👍👍👍Service:Auto engine diagnostic
The Kolakowski’s: The crew at Convenience Auto saved the day for me. My husband was laid up with shoulder surgery and the engine light came on. They were able to diagnose the problem, fix it and get the car back to me quickly. I so appreciate their honesty, work ethic and compassion to help me out during this stressful time.
Tully Svekric: Had my car towed here in the middle of the night after it broke down while driving. They charged me $80+ just to tell me nothing and handed me a card for a scrapyard. I asked if they looked at the timing belt as I suggested - as it was just replaced - and they said no. Took me 5 minutes to see that the timing belt was broken. Fixed the car myself and didn't scrap it. Waste of time and money here.edit: they did not diagnose a broken timing belt. I asked them, and they said they did not look. The below response is a lie. I had to look myself.Service:General repairs maintenance
Maura Rye: Friendly customer service and quality workmanship can always be found at Convenience Auto, especially when Joe and Logen both show their automotive talent.
Mick Taylor: Fair pricing and quick service.
kingsley Arimah: I have the highest regard for their professionalism. Good people.
Anthony “JayDe” Bolden: Place is usually preoccupied so don't expect a speedy service. There was a week of work before they look at my car. For me, this wasn't an issue but could be for someone with a tight schedule. They maintain several means of contact so there's no issue getting a hold of anyone for anything you need. They diagnosed and performed the work, even held the vehicle for me so I could get a proper window to pick up my car. My only gripe is the cost of the work and I'm not even showing how much they would've charged for brakes and rotors. Most often, inspections are included with services performed when all repairs are made on a vehicle. That has been my experience in the past but the inspection charges here were not waved which elevated the final cost.Great people and great service but if you can get it done for cheaper, I advise you take that route with your vehicle.

Ace Barnes Hardware Inc: what do users think?
Nick Sacco: Steve is great helped me register my new leaf blower and we did a test run
Portie Arawak: There were about 3 employees that saw when I entered but no greeting nor smile. Fine. I stood in an aisle looking on items and saw about 2 different employees pass by several times and one even stood right beside me, observing me and pretending to move things around, for about 2 minutes and didn't once ask if I needed help. I left the store as I felt uncomfortable and can't help but wonder to this day why was I being watched so closely. Those employees did not seem to be people that respect EVERYONE'S civil rights.
Bill Mccreadie: So may treasures to tempt you
Alyssa: Friendly/helpful staff. I come here regularly for household items. Very nice specialty appliances. So many great finds here and at a great price! Sometimes, they grill outside for customers. Sarah and Steve made me an awesome corn fritter last time!
Peggy Hayes: This store is top notch. And they are so helpful. Shopping there is a wonderful experience.
Eric McGlohon: Great hardware store! Also highly recommend all of their kitchen supplies
Christian Rinna: Lots of stuff not specific to hardware also household goods nic nacks etc!!! Lots of employees to help.
Bruce Geffen: So much to choose from.
Gregory Turnipseed: Everything I need
Finnbarr Conroy-Martin: Good store
Shell Bell: Extremely helpful & polite employees who actually know what they are doing or find help for your needs! It's out of my way to drive there sometimes, but worth it every single time.I would highly recommend the location on Stadium for all of your needs!
Patrick Hoey: Full disclosure, this business is owned and operated by a family member—and they don’t need any help from a little review of mine, but go to any other Ace Hardware and then try to compare it to Ace Barnes Hardware—you can’t, it’s a standard-bearer for stores that sell everything a family may need for their home and has a great selection of products and high-quality tool brands!
Matt Cyrulnik: Great place for HomeGoods and kitchen stuff.
David Dugger: Euphemistically, and somewhat politically incorrect, it’s often referred to as the woman’s hardware store. Why? They have an exceptional selection of high-end cookware, kitchen wares, kitchen gadgetry etc. not necessarily a woman’s thing it’s an everybody’s thing but if you’re looking for high-quality kitchen, products and hardware, you can’t beat this place
Jolene Heiney: John waited on me....What a sweet, kind man...I just Love this store!
Gary Heitman: Most helpful people ever. Didn't have it at one store, called the other and saved me the last one there.
Patrick Meyer: Ace has been solid. The people arr nice and friendly. I had a service issue with my stihl weed Wacker and they made it right
Zach Wilkinson: Had the item I needed when others didn't.Conveniently located.
marc: Big store, helpful staff.
Nick Elslager: Great products and cool kitchenware but I’m about done going there. I’ve spent so much money here and it’s just not worth the disrespect. Every time I speak to Mike, he is a grumpy, unhelpful person. He always has an attitude and multiple people I know will not go there because of him. He talks down to you and is very unpleasant/ sassy. The rest of the staff is usually very helpful. Go to stadium hardware if you want friendly, knowledgeable people, go there.
Nancy Oatley: Good hardware store, but I love, love, love their housewares sections.

Stadium Hardware Inc.: what do users think?
Celina Dusseau: Stadium hardware is just an absolutely top notch business with a top notch team. I went in for a few parts to repair some old rollerblades, and found not only what I needed but an incredible team to help me find the creative solution required to repair them right then and there!! Chris was immensely helpful and thoughtful in finding the right solution for my problem, and one other gentleman was also very helpful the first time I stopped in (but didn’t catch his name)! The team takes their time, is truly full of expertise and cares for their customers needs and interest. Thank you so much again!
Mark Erichson: As always... Super-knowledgable and -helpful staff. And they had what I needed. I love this place.
Rich Fein: Awesome store with awesome people. I came in with an oddball, antiquated valve for a toilet shut off. It needed new washers, one of which was unlike anything I'd ever seen. From their extensive inventory of parts, they found one that we were hoping would fit. And indeed when I reinstalled the valve, it worked. Thank you guys!
J. C.: Excellent variety with top notch knowledgeable personnel. Jim is a good example.
Thomas Deren: My favorite hardware store! Everything you need with such a friendly atmosphere and helpful people everywhere! My family's go-to for keys, they take the time to make sure they work smooth as can be.
Ben Caldwell: Favorite hardware. Everything you need and a super helpful staff.
Paul Bellefleur: Best hardware store I've ever been in.
Haleh Olsen: This place makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. A fully stocked store with superstar customer service. From potting soil to nail guns, they have everything you are looking for and more.Always outstanding service and truly a gem in the Ann Arbor community.
Chris Grant: They always have a helpful answer to my problems. Top notch staff, fast checkout, and I think it is now employee-owned.
Maxine Mercier: I've come to this location on a recommendation, and everyone I have interactions with is friendly, helpful, and easy to get help from. The store has anything you need.
R McFarland: Nice place shop. Friendly too.
Kato Hornet: Hands down where I am going for anything I need in the future. Staff here is the most helpful I have ever had.A man name Brian ( I have been informed he is a part owner and certified) helped me find the part i needed in seconds over the phone. I had been to 4 different stores with it out of stock at every location. 10/10
My Old House Fix: THE best Hardware Store in Ann Arbor for ALL your Old House needs! They seriously have everything! 👍
David Russell: This place is a true gem. Helpful and knowledgeable- this is my preferred hardware store!!!!
Jeff Xu: I’ve been shopping here for more than a decade, and they still have some of the best and friendliest employees around town. Everyone is ready to answer any questions you have and take you to exactly what you’re looking for, at a competitive price. They’re focused more towards specific house needs and of course hardware, you won’t find some items that the larger box stores would carry but it’s always good to come here first! Conversely they also carry hardware and material stock that those larger stores don’t carry or have limited selection of.
Michael Tullis: Lots of staff, very helpful staff. That seems rare at competing hardware stores. Their inventory is excellent too!
Joseph Taylor: Always someone available to help. For the money this is the best place to go. You won't save much going to home Depot and will spend 10 times The time looking for what you want.
Donald Adiska: I love this place, great advice and lots in stock.
Rick Rick: We live on the other side of town, and don't shop over there often. Woke up to a cold house with a failed furnace igniter. Figured out the part, no one local (and open on a Saturday) had the part, including the big box stores - except for Stadium Hardware. Very competitive price too. Brian confirmed it was in stock, so headed over. He open the box and examined the igniter before selling it to me. I bought two, and proactively replaced the other furnace's igniter at the same time since it was 12 years old. Highly recommend Stadium Hardware - they carry parts other hardware stores don't.
Katherine Opsommer: Great service. I would rather go to Stadium Hardwareany day. I get to talk to staff who are knowledgeable and helpful. Rather than go to a big box Hardware stores just to get lost and not find what I need.
brooke szilagyi: Truly a local, customer-focused gem! Helpful, informative, quick service. Thank you!

kenziealane96: Quoted $700 to fix a 2007 toyota prius driver front wheel bearing. Asked how many hours of labor that was and they replied it is 2 hours labor. I know the part is $110 after taxes and when I asked how much they were charging for part he could not give an answer and responded "it'll be $700 parts and labor." Called around and just about anywhere else was cheaper and polite staff. Not sure if employee I spoke to even researched it because he did not sound sure and could not give me answers of breakdown of price.
Jackson Mott: Went here to get my brakes repaired. Following their inspection, I initially chose to think on it but shortly after realized I needed the job done ASAP and they were kind enough to take my vehicle back immediately and had it done within a few hours. They were very understanding of my situation and did a lot to make it a quality experience despite the brake issue being more significant than I'd anticipated.Service:Brakes

Illi's Auto Service: what do users think?
Andriy Massimilla: Great rates for downtown A2! Fixed my issue quickly and were very friendly.
Andrea Evans: I've been going to Illi's for a few years and I'm always happy with their work. I've never had to call for an update because they always reach out first. I feel confident that they are taking great care of my car and giving me honest and clear advice. I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else.
Kurt Fauser: Very friendly, and got the job done earlier than predicted.
Molly Wilson: Nice, honest, reliable - every time! It is increasingly hard to find trustworthy auto work. Illis has always been, and continues to be a diamond in the auto mechanical world. Thank you!Services:General repairs maintenance,Auto maintenance
Inés Gallo De Urioste: Excellent service. Affordable, fast, and friendly. I appreciate how patiently and thoroughly the problem was explained to me too, since I know very little about cars. Even though my car broke down this week, I feel like finding Larry and his team has been a blessing. I will definitely continue to take my car here in the future. Highly recommend!!Service:Battery
Akshay Bhardwaj: The owner was rude and unprofessional. I asked for a price quote on a simple repair which apparently he could not do for several reasons. Instead of simply saying 'NO', he started talking about how I needed to go somewhere else since doing this repair could "make him look bad" as it could affect other parts of the car. At the end of his diatribe, he added he is not available for repairs for 20 days. Just say no if you are not interested/available to do a repair and spare us a lecture.
Jaron Rothkop: Couldn't be happier with the suspension and transmission work that Larry & his crew just finished on my 1978 Mini. They were thorough in researching what was needed and in explaining the work they performed. The price was reasonable and the work was completed faster than I expected. These are the guys to keep your vintage car on the road.Services:Transmission repair,Body Trim,Steering suspension repair
Joel Henry-Fisher: Honest. Reliable.
Maddie Rowe: Positive:QualityOur car broke down last night across the street and they were very helpful and professional, thank you!
Maximilian Rowe: Great service, very trustworthy and helpful staff - would strongly recommend.
John Long: Finding things like worn wiring causing intermittent problems takes experience and skill. Pays to go to a professional.
Lawrence Siden: Honesty and friendly
Caren Powers: Been going to Ill's for years always gets the job done right the first time if going to be longer than what they said will call you as soon as possible to let you know
Raymond Howland: Knowledgeable, friendly staff that provides outstanding service. Kudos to the owner Larry who always provides very thorough explanations on what is ailing your vehicle in an understandable way. Trustworthy outfit who I have full confidence in to make the necessary repairs and not try to sell me something I don't need.
Regan McBurney: How refreshing to have an auto repair shop that you can trust to look out for your wallet and provide quality service.
Nick Diodore: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ValueGood advice, good service. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful.Service:Transmission
Caleb Haynes: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,ValueWorst customer service experience I have had in years. I would recommend going elsewhere. This owner is all about himself and the money. Does not care for the customer.
waynelee baker: Great auto shop. They can do a multitude of repairs on a large line makes and modles.
Barbara DeLancey: Wonderful service! Honest expert service and advice. Larry is a pleasure to work with. Cannot give them enough praise or stars. We are lucky to have Ili's in Ann Arbor.
Peter Huff: Saved my 19 year old Toyota Avalon from having to go to the junk year!
Kathryn: Truthful, honest folks here. You really do get what you pay for and I will never go elsewhere for detailed auto engine work.Customer for life now!And two years later in August 2018 I can still say the same thing. Detailed, respectful, a truly knowledgeable mechanic, Larry is the real deal. Work done right the first time.
