I explained what happened, and she admitted that, yes, my phone call should not have been handled that way. I will give you an extra star for taking the call. Still not gonna recommend or use. Ann Scott: I have used this business for several years with several different cars. I took my car in for a simple oil change. I was told I needed a brake job even though I had yet to hear any brake noises. I was quoted $500 over the phone for “the brake job”. At the end I was charged for $940 for oil change and brake job. From the quote I was given over the phone I expected $600 at most. I’m just presenting facts here but I can’t help but to feel lied to. I'm always surprised at how expensive repairs are, but I doubt they are more expensive than anywhere else. Everything went off without a hitch and my cost matched my estimate almost to the dollar.Again, super kind and professional folk and in my belief, great mechanics you can trust.ALSO....the below issue was addressed and corrected and how the original price happened was clearly explained to me.These really are stand up people 👏Wanted to love this place and after 3 visits I just can not. My last visit was +$500 for an oil change and 4 headlight bulbs. I was sticker shocked for sure ( guy in front of me got his brakes done for about $50 more than I paid for bulbs and oil change...whaaa)and even though everything was explained to me, there are greasy fingerprints on my hood and their supposed "credit" for service, that you get to use towards next service, I apparently have none... even though my 60k "service reccomendation" 3 months ago was +$1000. I appreciate everything costs more now but these guys are dealership pricing in my opinion. Nathan Wheeler: The people here are very friendly, honest, and prompt with their service. I’ve been stalled and highballed by a couple mechanics in town and these guys never do that. Every time I bring my car here, they do a thorough curtesy inspection in addition to fixing whatever’s wrong. At this point, I don’t trust anyone else with my Kia.

Hayley Herderschee: I am very pleased with Abbott Street Auto! I took my car in to get an inspection for a potential repair. I had been told by my dealership that I use that my struts and front suspension needed to be replaced ($$$). Even with that info, the mechanics conducted an extensive inspection of my car and found nothing wrong with the suspension and saved me around $2200 if I were to listen to the dealership. They identified an issue with my brake pad and included a video to explain what they found. They were very transparent and did not take advantage of me when they very well could have. Both John, the manager and Bailey have been great to me since I walked in. I had some major difficulties going on with my car and they got me through the process with their knowledge, wonderful customer service and especially their kindness. Kasey Montague: I brought my car here based on the reviews I’ve read and because I was told that it needed $2,000+ in repairs after taking it in for a recall. As a woman, I was skeptical but I am also realistic and know my car is older. It has also “lived in Michigan it’s entire life.” I was prepared to be told that my car did in fact need repairs of some kind, but I just wanted a second opinion before moving forward. Not only did they get me in relatively fast, they also looked at and called me well before the day was over. They informed me that my car was fine and no repairs were needed… none. I was shocked. I am almost always on the hook for something unexpected.They explained what they did, showed me pictures, and reassured me that my car was good to go for my upcoming trip. Seriously. Don’t hesitate to bring your car here. What a fantastic experience!

Dani Darling: I had to get my car towed because it freaked out on me, triple AAA suggested Convenience Auto but when the guy called he was not very nice, and said it would take over a week to even look at my car. I looked at reviews and had the car towed to Steve's. When I called he asked me what happened and when I explained, he told me that they were even more backed up. But he told me he would take a quick look at it and at least let me know if he thought it was serious. He called later and said it didn't look good, and I said okay I'd wait for them to be able to run diagnostic. Four days later Tim calls and tells me that they tried a few things, reconnected my battery and reset the alerts that had gone berserk, and the car was fine! Didn't overcharge me, was so nice and helpful, even if it had been a bigger problem I felt like I could trust their opinion and advice. I would definitely recommend them - your problem may not be as simple as mine was, but whatever it is, they will try to figure it out and be fair - being nice, especially in a stressful situation, makes all the difference!Service:Electrical repair

Taryn Farber: They did a pretty good job replacing my tire, which was run into while parked, and the relevant mechanical issues with it. I wish they would have tried to repair my busted spare tire, which another shop down the road did. PTI Michigan: They hire people who are not mechanic or technicians. I took my car for exhaust sound issue. They charged me but never fixed the issue. The mechanic dropped the back side of exhaust pipe twice on the ground and bent it and could not put it together. THEY ARE CHEATERS, DONT GO THERE.
Sydney Joann: I want to start off by saying this man had EVERY opportunity in the world to take advantage of me, I walked in a frantic mess telling him I have no idea how cars work but I thought I needed my brake pads changed because of a squealing and that overall it was overdue for a service check.I dropped it off at 11:30, and I got a call about an hour later saying my car was actually in great shape & I was just due for an oil change! :) Turns out, something just needed to be cleaned under one of my brakes & that solved the problem entirely. He even put air in one of my tires and took off a broken rubber piece without charging me.I walked away from what I was expecting to be a $800+ day, with a smooth driving car and a simple oil change. Polite, quick, informative & professional. I'll recommend Car Doctor to everyone I know now, and this will be my go-to place for sure. Bob Johnson: Read code for "check engine light"... reset code and reported "catalytic converter insufficiency." Added BG to fuel. Hope it will be a while before the converter signal returns. But return it will with 126K on this 2010 Volvo S80.

Afterward, they spent about 5 minutes trying to convince me to spend $2,000 more on additional repairs. Mark Burke: My wife has a Z4 and a X5. Called weeks ahead to schedule a factory recall on the X5. Brandon from service assured her that her vehicle will be completed same day. My wife invited a friend to drive down to the Kentucky Derby the next Day. She waited all day and zero communication from BMW Ann Arbor. She was humiliated that she had to have her friend drive. I was left with the clean up. Only after I called Brandon did he tell me they did not have the part in stock. BMW Ann Arbor called back the next day and said that the vehicle was completed. Major problem, I have no way of getting the vehicle back home. Brandon was called and I explained the situation. He responded on how short staffed they are, so I requested the Service Manager give me a call. Four hours left in the day and not one call from anyone. The vehicle is still at BMW Ann Arbor. We have a flight out of the Country on Monday morning. My wife was an ambassador of the brand resulting in several friends purchasing BMW vehicles. Not anymore, with the service and communication received from Ann Arbor BMW she will never purchase a BMW product again. Nate Berent-Spillson: AC wasn’t working. The did a systematic troubleshooting and communicated all along the way. It ended up being the compressor, so not cheap to fix but the air is icy cold now!
