I know the part is $110 after taxes and when I asked how much they were charging for part he could not give an answer and responded "it'll be $700 parts and labor." Called around and just about anywhere else was cheaper and polite staff. Not sure if employee I spoke to even researched it because he did not sound sure and could not give me answers of breakdown of price.

Rupam Bhattacharyya: Had great experiences during my first visit to them last weekend. My car, a 2010 Subaru Impreza, had some obvious small-time issues that needed immediate fixing, along with some potential replacements of parts that I wanted to get some estimates on. They perfectly managed to fix the issues under time less than what they initially predicted, and the costs for these fixes (including some welding of the heat shields and fixing a couple of small leaks) were pretty reasonable. They also gave me extremely reasonable rates for the parts, and I am only holding on those for now since this is an old car and I do not want to invest too much at this point. Would certainly come back in future if necessary, and would definitely recommend for people in the Ann Arbor area.

Long Cheng: Our family were on a 4.5-hr road trip to Boyne Mountain for skiing in a fully packed SUV. We started to recognize a burnt rubber smell after 1 hour into the trip. We called several auto shops, but none of them could take a quick look at the issue, until we called North Side Auto. After hearing our story, they were very compassionate and accommodating although they had other works ongoing. The head mechanic Henry was so knowledgeable and professional, quickly determined the smell came from the worn-out brakes. 3 hours later, we were back on the road after they replaced all brakes and on the 4 tires. I bought 4 cups of bubble tea and milk tea for them to show my appreciation. I also took a picture with Henry and the smiles on our faces showed the happy moment before we took off from the shop. We called Hoover Street Auto Repair, and despite being very busy, they said they could check the fluid levels and top up if necessary. Their technician, Tom , came out right away, checked the fluids, identified the leak, topped it up, and assured us we would get home safely. They refused our offer of payment. Kim Wehrmeister: Hoover St diagnosed my headlights not working as a corroded relay in the battery junction box. The repair was done within a week, delayed only due to obtaining a part on a 10-year old car from out of state. They also reconnected a loose heat shield on the underside of the car. Shortly after the repair, I receive a notification from Ford Motor that there was a national recall on the battery junction box for the exact repair I'd just had completed with Hoover. The recall stated that they would refund any previous repairs provided a detailed receipt was provided. I contacted Hoover St and told them about the recall, and asked if they could add additional details, just to be sure Ford would cover it. They added a lot of very detailed notes to the invoice and emailed it to me so I wouldn't have to pick it up. They didn't have to do that for me, but they went above and beyond. This was my first visit to Hoover St, also, so it's not like I was a consistent customer. D Y: Driving in the snow past winter did a number on my car and I had to get a control arm and ball joint replaced bc of a noise I heard when turning. The car was fixed and after a couple weeks I heard some noise again. Took it back to the shop and they got me in first thing the next morning with a free complimentary rental car. Lopaka St: Only 1 star, since the owner ASSUMED I called and was quoted a price, but actually received the estimate from his "Master Mechanic"... I went elsewhere (MDP Repair near Jackson see cost difference below).I was in the area and seen the reviews, stopped for a steering issue and quoted $500 for the repair. Went to my normal shop and the issue was not the pump itself but a sensor. Spent $190 including the diagnostic and got a free loaner car at MDP Repair.I left a simple review first and the owner replied with what he assumed I did, never reached out to me. With that reply I chose to elaborate and include the cost difference. It's very clear this place is not as organized, communicative or as "fair priced" as they portray. Go somewhere you can trust to diagnose and fix the problem that's actually needed, not someplace they think they know everything. Looking through the owners replies it's pretty clear he thinks very highly of himself.

Brittany Rose: I had the best experience I've ever had with an auto shop at Complete Auto Service. My Audi desperately needed an alignment and possibly more front end work from the evidence of wear and tear on my front tires. I was welcomed and quickly scheduled over the phone for the same day. Upon arrival, the owner, John, generously explained the entire process; what they were going to look for, and the cost I should expect. This was unlike any other customer service I had received before at other auto shops. When they found my tie rod was bent and causing my issues, they called me and explained everything. When I returned, same day, I was shown the bent tie rod and again explained to what to look out for and why this was causing me issues.
