Bob Johnson: Read code for "check engine light"... reset code and reported "catalytic converter insufficiency." Added BG to fuel. Hope it will be a while before the converter signal returns. But return it will with 126K on this 2010 Volvo S80.

doc fitness: The team at Arbor Motion are awesome! I had my Volvo C 30 towed in for a mechanical repair. They kept me up to date throughout the entire process. They did what they stated they would do in a timely fashion and the repair estimate was right on point. My car is running better than ever. I will return to Arbor Motion for all of my car needs. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. As an added surprise...my car was washed/cleaned when I arrived to pick it up. Thank you for making this a good experience.

Upon inspection, I got a detailed inspection report complete with 34 detailed pictures pin-pointing everything they found on the vehicle. Mary Lynne Foster: We were facing an hour long drive home when we noticed the car seemed to be leaking. We called Hoover Street Auto Repair, and despite being very busy, they said they could check the fluid levels and top up if necessary. Their technician, Tom , came out right away, checked the fluids, identified the leak, topped it up, and assured us we would get home safely. They refused our offer of payment. Kim Wehrmeister: Hoover St diagnosed my headlights not working as a corroded relay in the battery junction box. The repair was done within a week, delayed only due to obtaining a part on a 10-year old car from out of state. They also reconnected a loose heat shield on the underside of the car. Shortly after the repair, I receive a notification from Ford Motor that there was a national recall on the battery junction box for the exact repair I'd just had completed with Hoover. The recall stated that they would refund any previous repairs provided a detailed receipt was provided. I contacted Hoover St and told them about the recall, and asked if they could add additional details, just to be sure Ford would cover it. They added a lot of very detailed notes to the invoice and emailed it to me so I wouldn't have to pick it up. They didn't have to do that for me, but they went above and beyond. This was my first visit to Hoover St, also, so it's not like I was a consistent customer. Nate Berent-Spillson: AC wasn’t working. The did a systematic troubleshooting and communicated all along the way. It ended up being the compressor, so not cheap to fix but the air is icy cold now!

After having a horrible experience at another shop which led to part why I needed these repairs they made sure I got back out on the road and told me to come back if anything acted up! I had something unrelated to the repairs go wrong the next week and they took care of it for free for me! I felt very heard and welcomed which isn't something I can say about any of other experiences I've had when it comes to getting car repairs! I can't recommend them enough! Rena Dudley: Clean waiting room. Friendly helpful staff.While there, a lady ran out of gas in the middle of rush hour traffic and all of the workers went to assist and pushed her car into their parking lot. It's sad because other drivers made it very difficult and dangerous for the workers.An officer did arrive so that was helpful.I will be taking my vehicle back there.
Max Pal: Good: needed oil change and they did it right away without a scheduled meeting.Bad:1. I paid for the oil change more than I would pay in the authorized dealership.2. Told me that my battery was bad and needed replacement (voltage was within the norm, capacity was lower). They did not even suggest repairing the battery, just buy new one FROM THEM. I said I would bring my batter (a better one since the one they carry is average), they said no - I have to buy FROM THEM.3. had a nail at the flat side of the tire, they told me that it is not reparable (bulls..) and I need to buy it FROM THEM.4. they told me my tires should be replaced because they are worn out (5-7mm left) - bulls.. the limits are 2-3mm so the tires are fine. Of course they wanted to sell me the 4 tires.5. They said my breaks were not reparable and, guess what.., I have to buy FROM THEM, despite the fact that a) the breaks were actually reparable (the disks could be machined); b) I brought the brand new original unpacked brake pads. They refused to take mine although I showed them the receipt from the original dealership.Luckily, I had a mechanic with 30 years experience on the phone who was telling me all these things I noted above. These people are EXTREMELY DISHONEST and will try to rip you off by buying their 2nd class "generic replacement" parts.I will NEVER go again to any Firestone!Services:Tires,Oil change

Luzette Habib: I brought a rideshare michivan for service here in Dec 2022 as they are an approved company. My husband had brought it here a few months previous, but they claimed they didn't have any record of that visit. Took maybe 20-30 min for them to figure out the right account. At the end a rep gave me a copy of the invoice, saying it had everything I needed for the next time. He was so confident of this. Fast forward to Feb 2023, I called to make another appointment. I should have known things would go poorly when I had to volunteer my info, as in "Don't you need my name and car information?" "Uh, yeah, sure." I arrived at the appointment, again the guy had trouble finding me, then says it was for 8am. I wondered if he's looking at the way past Dec appointment. I gave him (Westin? Weston?) the invoice from December, supposedly with all of the info he needs to find the account. Not so. For several long minutes he searched through their computer system and made a bunch of calls. Then he made some calls not related to the Enterprise account, which I then found out that he didn't even have the right filter available, could I come back the next day. This all took around half an hour. I should mention that when I made this appointment I pleaded with them to please verify the account and vehicle so that they would have the correct oil and filter available.Update: I came back the next day. Filter was still not in store but they managed to do the service in less than their estimated time, so either they obtained a filter or used a substitute. Joseph Taylor: Needed a battery . Talked to David. Said he would get me in the next day. Got in about 8am and he remembered me. Could not find place to park. He went out and helped me find a place to park and in the lot he wrote my phone # on his hand. I thought no way he can remember. Sure enough a couple hours later he called and said was done. Only downside a little expensive--over 300 for diehard platinum. Great service so said I need purge control valve for my other car and desk manager I spoke with said have to evaluate --over 100 dollars. Really, I evaluated in 10 minutes. Oh well, take by my work on Detroit. Overall good service I would return for simple things like batteries or tires.

Tracy Davis: When I overpaid this place, to the tune of about $800, for new front brakes less than a year ago, they apparently put 200 pounds on the lug nuts when they put the tires back on instead of about 96 as it should be. So I'm paying close to $200 today for new lugnuts because the other (much better) mechanic I started going to can't remove them without breaking them.Before Jerry retired, this place was the bomb and I would have given it 10 stars if I could. I've been taking my cars there since 2000. Though I spent $900 on new tires a few years ago, tire rotations aren't free anymore and oil changes have gone from $20 to over $50. When I showed up, I was told my appointment was at the downtown location instead of Washtenaw where I had scheduled it. So I went there, barely made it on time and there was nowhere to park. As I went in, I wondered why they would have no space when people have made appointments. Inside I was informed that even though I booked an appointment to wait while my car was serviced, it would be several hours. I get that there are staffing issues and supply issues. How about you tell me that online when I booked the appointment? Or take the wait option away? Instead of being up front so I could make other plans, you have infuriated me, wasted my time on my day off, and I still didn't get my car serviced. I'm done with Firestone.

Andrea Voulgaris: Would highly NOT recommend this place. My brake fluid leaked out while I was driving near this store, which is the only reason I had it towed there. As you can imagine, suddenly not being able to use your brakes while you’re driving is really scary. So I was really frazzled when I walked in, but I was still holding it together. When I got to the counter, the employee comments, “you look like you’re about to have a nervous meltdown.” It made me feel uncomfortable and I finally broke down crying after which he said multiple times, “it’s just a car.” I felt he was so insensitive and he made me feel bad and humiliated for being upset. He told me they would get to my car the next day, but I never got a call. I had to call them myself two days later to check the status. The repair tech said it would take 1-2 weeks and would cost $1300+. Instead I had it towed to a local business down the road that got it done the same day for just over $500. So unacceptable. I asked him to print off what's required for my car and lets go over them briefly. Then he just gave me a long sheet of items. I look at the sheet and notice a bunch of just suggestions and stuff to "maximize performance" and I ask him again let's go over what is actually needed. He points to the paper again. I then have to ask him one by one what the problems are and wait as he gives me poor responses that barely answer my question. It would be different if someone was behind me, but if I am going to pay hundreds for labor, he could at least stop speaking like I am dumb and like a normal person. I had been told by my dealership that I use that my struts and front suspension needed to be replaced ($$$). Even with that info, the mechanics conducted an extensive inspection of my car and found nothing wrong with the suspension and saved me around $2200 if I were to listen to the dealership. They identified an issue with my brake pad and included a video to explain what they found. They were very transparent and did not take advantage of me when they very well could have. Bill “Navigate Lower 48” Woznik: Came into town to pickup a load after my 34 hr reset. I didn't expect to be able to get tires on in a day without an appointment etc. To my very pleasant surprise this Firestone had the tires I wanted at a good price, AND were able to install on a Sunday without an appointment! The brakes squeaked afterward and it took us months to find the time to get it back in. My husband commutes and we have 3 young children. When we finally got it back in there they said it was the back brakes and it just needed lubricant. Literally a day later and paying $100 it’s squeaking AGAIN. It’s so frustrating!!! The rings were determined to be the problem and they said I had to pay $2000 to tear it down to the problem then they would send out an inspector to evaluate it. Guaranteed they will find a reason not to cover it!!

William Sorensen: On July 2, 2022, they inspected and repaired the exhaust system for my Ram 1500 Hemi truck. At a previous shop I was told I would need a new muffler and anterior pipe. This shop said the muffler was a stainless-steel high-performance muffler and was fine. They repaired the pipe in front of the muffler at a very reasonable rate. It was done within a half hour. About a month later something came loose. They added a couple of new clamps and reset the hangers for the resonators and tail pipes at no charge. This is an honest and ethical shop.
Andy B: They are courteous and very quick. Their prices are in line with national chains, much less than dealerships and upscale independent shops. The staff is competent and friendly.They're still hanging in there in late 2022, although labor shortages have caused their lead times to lengthen. They're still taking care of business.

Christopher Xiao: This is the place to go for German car repairs. I had a little accident from driving in the snow and needed to find a reputable shop. The people here are extremely welcoming, experienced, and thorough in their due diligence. They take photos of everything during the initial inspection and send you an electronic record so that you are fully aware and involved in any decisions. Prices for this level of service are not the priority, but for those who care they are very reasonable and certainly more affordable than the dealer. I give my highest recommendations.

My car had standing water under the carpet of the passenger side cabin, soaking all of the foam and creating risk in the subfloor electrical electrical system. They had to pull out the seat and the carpet to make sure we could dry the car properly. They were creative, friendly and efficient - They worked out a great solution that I could afford.
