Ashley Snyder: We had work "completed" by Current Electrical about a year and a half ago and hesitated to follow up with a review. However, as we continue to notice more and more issues with the work, we figured it was time. Similar to many of the other negative reviews on here, we selected this company based on the glowing reviews online -- but we found our experience to align more with the negative ones, unfortunately. To start, we were quoted $7,000 as an original estimate -- and without much of a scope change, we ended up paying more than $20,000 for the work. We (foolishly) didn't track work hours to make sure everything aligned, so I can't speak to overcharging for hours worked -- however, I can say that the electricians (although very nice and pleasant) worked very slow and took a very long time to complete the work. We even had them show up on days they were not scheduled to work on easy tasks we did not include in our budget (ie. replacing light switches), stating they didn't have work that morning. In hindsight, we should have been much more assertive and said no, but we trusted they were not trying to cheat us.Another frustrating part of this experience has been the fact that some of the work was done poorly - and/or with cheap materials. One of the lights we had installed has never worked properly (we need to turn another light on in order for our office light to work). We contacted Tim to have the electricians back out to fix a light they incorrectly installed -- they did come out and work quite a fews hours. However, they ended up not fixing the light (this was known when they left) AND we were charged for those hours worked, even though they were just trying to correct their own issue. My husband called Tim multiple times after this to get this resolved, leaving voicemails, but our calls were never returned. Recently we started having lights fall out of our ceiling (which prompted this review). My husband now has to go and replace the boxes installed because they were either poorly installed, or broke (because they were cheap). Frustrated because of how much money we spent on these services, the absurdly incorrect original estimation, and the lack of communication after we had paid all outstanding invoices. Ty Wellik: DO NOT HIRE!! We had one of the worst service experiences ever with this company. I have no idea where they get all the good reviews from, but take the time to read the other 1-star reviews because they are spot on. I'll try to keep it as brief as I can: they charged us $50 more than the original hourly rate quoted, took WAY more time than was originally quoted (and we even reduced the scope of work a ton), AND they lied about the time they worked by 4 hours (over $600). When we challenged the time, Tim (the owner it seems) was unbelievably rude and even accused us of trying to avoid paying. He has absolutely no sense of customer service. He kept telling us to look at the reviews which made me feel like the reviews are fake and also had nothing to do with our experience. He didn't care, he was a complete jerk. We asked him multiple times to account for the time he tried charging us for, and he could not give us any break down of how he came to the charged time. Thank goodness we have an alarm system where we could PROVE that they were not here nearly the amount of time charged. When we threatened with the alarm system data, he suddenly reduced the invoice by 4 hours...!!! Just an absolutely horrible experience, mostly because of Tim. The electricians themselves were fine, albeit slow, and the hourly rate we were charged was ridiculously high compared to other companies in the area. Jason Becktell: Working with Tim was an absolute nightmare. When we were looking to have our house rewired, Tim's quote was much higher than the others but decided to go with him anyway because he was able to start the job right away and he talks a good game. However, Tim's incompetence led to several delays that made me regret hiring him. Tim wanted over $2,000 for a riser diagram, something our new electrician only charged us $50 for, I'm so glad we fired him. Also, his master electrician had an emergency and delayed the project a week, shortly after that, he took a week of vacation, delaying the project for another week. Then he was scheduled to come on a Friday and told Tim he was unable to locate the key and left without calling us or emailing us. Tim was unwilling to send a different electrician to work during his absence. But the final straw that caused us to fire him was when he talked down to my wife. He sounds like a bit of a misogynist that treats women like they’re unable to understand his field. As you can see from the other 1 star reviews on here, Tim is very much the belligerent at the bar, always ready to fight, what are the odds that everyone else was wrong and Tim is right. Briahna Kaiser: We called to have a ring doorbell installed in our new home. When the electrician arrived he first had to leave to sit in his truck to watch an install video. I found this odd. Then when he came in still had me read the instructions for him for the install. He left when the button was connected to the chimes but the camera was not connecting. I told him that was probably our internet and was going to continue to try afterwards. I paid him and he left. I realized after about 30 mins that it was installed incorrectly and called him back. He was able to get the camera working but the button is not longer connected to the chime in our home and he basically said « oh well I followed instructions » and then charged us a second time, full amount, for coming back that same day. From the reviews I’ve read this seems like a good company but we were horribly disappointed and will not be using them in the future. Our doorbell still doesn’t ring.

Martin Walasek: Current Electrical Systems is just one of those businesses that you need to have on speed dial. They are responsive even on a Sunday. If the first repairs don’t work out, they come back the next day ready to figure it out. The amount of knowledge that they have and the professional level they operate is outstanding. My electrician Josh could probably perform every job blindfolded, probably not recommended in his line of work but he knows his craft. He is also polite, timely, patient, and just an all around great guy. The kind of guy, you could give the keys to the house when you’re not home to fix your electrical issues. I can’t wait to use them for the little electrical repairs and the large jobs too. There’s nobody else I would rather have in my house, with my family than Current Electrical Systems for my repairs. Valerie Ifill: They changed my electric panel in the basement and used a box that did not have the whole house kill switch! I found out when a service person came to do work. When I called to complain they sent the technician who installed this panel and he came and replaced the panel but I later learned he did not upgrade with a service big enough for my whole house (2600 square feet). He also asked me not to tell his employer what he had done and had to correct. I should have been a lot more public about Huron Valley and this shoddy employee right at the time! He rewired our main panel and breakers without an extra charge and completed the work beyond expected. I will hire him again for other electrical work and recommend him to my friends and relatives.

Wanda Edwards: So easy and pleasant to work with this company. The electrician was courteous, quick, and clean! Should have done this sooner. I removed recessed fluorescent lighting, and the hollow lighting company installed three 4" can lights. They brought different light styles and dimmer switches to pick from. When installed, they adjusted the temperature to my liking, making payments quick and easy online. Definitely recommend.

These guys were very amazing when they started working. They arrived promptly and were very professional.
