Ashley Snyder: We had work "completed" by Current Electrical about a year and a half ago and hesitated to follow up with a review. However, as we continue to notice more and more issues with the work, we figured it was time. Similar to many of the other negative reviews on here, we selected this company based on the glowing reviews online -- but we found our experience to align more with the negative ones, unfortunately. To start, we were quoted $7,000 as an original estimate -- and without much of a scope change, we ended up paying more than $20,000 for the work. We (foolishly) didn't track work hours to make sure everything aligned, so I can't speak to overcharging for hours worked -- however, I can say that the electricians (although very nice and pleasant) worked very slow and took a very long time to complete the work. We even had them show up on days they were not scheduled to work on easy tasks we did not include in our budget (ie. replacing light switches), stating they didn't have work that morning. In hindsight, we should have been much more assertive and said no, but we trusted they were not trying to cheat us.Another frustrating part of this experience has been the fact that some of the work was done poorly - and/or with cheap materials. One of the lights we had installed has never worked properly (we need to turn another light on in order for our office light to work). We contacted Tim to have the electricians back out to fix a light they incorrectly installed -- they did come out and work quite a fews hours. However, they ended up not fixing the light (this was known when they left) AND we were charged for those hours worked, even though they were just trying to correct their own issue. My husband called Tim multiple times after this to get this resolved, leaving voicemails, but our calls were never returned. Recently we started having lights fall out of our ceiling (which prompted this review). My husband now has to go and replace the boxes installed because they were either poorly installed, or broke (because they were cheap). Frustrated because of how much money we spent on these services, the absurdly incorrect original estimation, and the lack of communication after we had paid all outstanding invoices.
