Dance Theatre Studio: what do users think?
Marlena Rashid: Truly one of a kind studio. We have been coming here for over a year and our daughter loves it here with Mrs. Jamie. She is a phenomenal teacher who is very patient and a wonderful instructor.
Madhura Gandhi: To join the dance class here was one of the best decisions ever! I joined the beginner Jazz series and very happy with the 7 weeks I have attended. Michelle is a beautiful dancer who really wants her students to learn. She breaks down complex routines into very simple steps without losing the essence of it. I would be happy if the series is conducted twice a week.
Dami Ikwe: Some of the best teachers who really care about you learning the style of dance you are there for whether your an adult or child dancer. Plus you can take great exercise classes here as well.
Sylvie Alexandra: The teachers are so caring and kind. They truly want us to grow, and to be stronger and better dancers. They do everything they can to keep us safe. The other dancers at DTS are really supportive, and will always cheer you on. At dance theater studio, I have discovered myself through dancing.I dance all styles. (tap, ballet, jaz, hip-hop, musical theatre, contemporary, and MORE!)

Ann Arbor Dance Classics: what do users think?
Tiffanie Alexander: Maybe this place is out of business, but it would be nice if it could say so on their website. Two different locations listed, went to both of them. One doesn't exist and the other has no way to get in. They are listed on their page as open, but once you call it says both walk in during business hours, and check before coming in to see if they are there. They have nothing shoveled, it is covered in ice, as a business they are liable for slip and falls. This is utterly absurd and no way to run a business.
Meghan Mehay: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy kids had so much fun trying all the different classes during the trial week! Both of my boys decided to take the hip hop class after being able to try all the different types of classes! Loved all the teachers- great experience! We felt completely safe even with Covid, they also offered a zoom option!
Molly McMillan: A dance studio focused on SAFETY and feeling like a SECOND FAMILY while providing diverse dance education! I danced at AADC for my entire childhood and considered it my home-away-from-home. Throughout the COVID pandemic, the safety protocols the owner, Deena, follows so strictly speak to the care she provides for her families. As a teacher at the business now, I see the whole staff accommodating the needs of each student, as well as the needs of the community at large by not only teaching amazing classes, but by wearing masks, encouraging hand washing, using separate entrances, social distancing, and constant cleaning. From the smallest dancers in Creative Movement, to the Competition teams in their multiple styles of dance on many days of the week, AADC remains the top place for dance education in Washtenaw County!
Angela Cyrbok: AADC is a terrific dance studio. This studio offers many performance opportunities for all levels of dance. The teachers provide excellent training in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The level of creativity that goes into the performances is amazing. I highly recommend this dance studio.
Jennifer Arrieta: Our daughter has been with Ann Arbor Dance Classics for four years and absolutely loves it. One ballet class at this studio turned into a love of everything dance. The owners and teachers are excellent and our daughter has developed great friendships with the other dancers. We highly recommend Ann Arbor Dance Classics.
Isa Wishart: Danced at AADC for 6 years and it is wonderful learning environment with excellent dance training, caring and dedicated teachers as well as many opportunities to perform

Randazzo Dance Studio: what do users think?
Katie Callaway: We have been really happy with our experience at Randazzo Dance Studio. The teacher is so patient and kind with our 3 year old daughter. She's made her first dance experience wonderful!
Chelsea Rhein: Randazzo dance is a gem! The teachers are great and so fun. Would definitely recommend this studio to dancers of all ages and all levels.
Audrey Launius: Amazing family-run dance studio with incredible teachers. I grew up dancing here and think of it as my second home and family. All of the teachers are wonderful, caring, knowledgeable, and extremely dedicated to their students and their craft. What I have found after dancing in many other studios (including some associated with professional dance companies!) is that Randazzo is top-notch in terms of quality of instruction and experience. My tip, try out as many different styles of dance as you can! Ballet is common for young students, but tap, jazz and modern (really any style!) can both be great on their own or support a ballet dancer in their musicality and style. And for parents of students, check out the Pilates classes. I so miss those with Sara and my core strength hasn’t been the same since!
Ashley Collins: Amazing family run dance studio. Changed my life for the better!! They provide a fun exciting experience for new dancers and have skilled teachers for advanced dancers too!
Abby Clarke: I look forward to the nut cracker show every year!
Maria LaCross: Wonderful studio that truly wants to honor the art form. Great location off the highway and classes offered throughout the week and on Saturdays! You can tell they have an established curriculum, even in the youngest 3 year old classes. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to take dance classes.
rita eckenrode: I have been associated with the Studio for about 25 years. My daughter and son both danced there as children and now I have two granddaughters dancing there as well. I would not dream of letting anyone in my family take dance classes any where else. I have also taken adult tap, jazz and ballet classes at Randazzo Dance Studio myself and have only the highest compliments to make regarding our experience there. All of the instructors that we have had over the years have been excellent. They are professional, caring, and knowledgeable dance instructors. They only have the dancers' best interest at heart. The dancers consequently are technically excellent dancers. I have been to performances of other dance schools in the Detroit Metropolitan area and I believe the quality of the dancers from Randazzo Dance Studio is one of the best, if not THE best. I cannot end this review without mentioning my own instructors for my adult dance classes. Both Audrey and Lauren have been my most recent ballet teachers. They were both wonderful and I learned so much from them. My tap teachers, Sara and Connie are also the best. Finally, I am also enrolled in the Pilates class which equally awesome. Every single class that the studio offers is truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it without reservation to every one.
Gigi K: Positive:Professionalism,Quality
Donald Keith: Well, my daughter danced there for almost 15 years. She was truly the best in her generation. I have tried to contact for a few years because I wanted to donate to some other dancer that didn't have the financial resources as my daughter had.You don't include any alumni unless they were your favorites. Why do you not ask them to come back for a performance? Unless they were your favorites. Lauren could not be more respected and a worse person than my daughter. Why do you not offer a chance to come back unless they were your favorites. My fiance wanted to take adult tap with you and you offered NO response. All I can say is pathetic. Watch for competition coming soon from people who care.
Jared Whitfield: Very nice place. Had a good Zumba workout

The Studio Centre: what do users think?
LaKisha Simmons: My daughter has been attending this studio for a year +. My daughter comes home with a smile and feels a sense of accomplishment when she's learned something new. She's also really improved; her lines are beautiful and she's gotten quite strong! As a parent, I like that it is a dance education studio, where students are learning technique, practice and discipline. The studio is also an inclusive space re: gender expression, race, etc. My daughter started there around age 7. But this is also a great studio for older beginners as well. I highly recommend this studio for kids/teens of any age who don't want to do sports but need some other kind of exercise/ movement education!
Sarah Sanderson: We started with The Studio Centre a year ago and my 5 year old daughter is in love. We enjoy watching her confidence grow the more skills she learns. Very happy with Tyler and all of the teachers.
Soojin Lee: When I moved to Ann Arbor from the Bay Area, I didn’t have high hopes about finding good dance training for my pre-teen daughter and classes for myself. But then we found The Studio Center. The owner and main instructor, Tyler Stickel, has managed to not only successfully carry his relatively new studio through the pandemic but has actually been able to expand his space and offerings! There’s good stuff going on there.Tyler is a beautiful dancer himself. He has lots of natural facility, but it’s also clear he comes from a well-rounded dance background with great training. Good dancers don’t always make good teachers, but Tyler is excellent in both arenas. He’s able to effectively parlay his strong training and professional experience into his teaching. Not only does he know what he’s talking about, he’s able to articulate concepts in a way that’s accessible to students just starting out in dance as well as to those who have been training for many years.I’ve been a regular in the adult intermediate ballet class for over a year now. As a 40-something former bunhead coming back to ballet after a long hiatus, Tyler and The Studio Centre has been a godsend! I don’t remember feeling this good in ballet in decades, and I’m actually continuing to learn as I adjust to my more mature body. The classes are intimate enough to receive personalized attention and foster camaraderie, but there’s enough of a critical mass to make it fun. Tyler always has fresh combinations (which he has meticulously and thoughtfully prepared before each class), and he offers modifications to be more or less challenging. He creates a class that is full of positive vibes - no judgment, just the tacit understanding that we’re all there to have a good time and enjoy our own relationship to the art form. His wonderful balance of good humor and peppy energy never fails to put a smile on my face.I’ve been thrilled that Tyler’s been able to add more styles of adult dance classes this year. Stephanie Harvey, who teaches contemporary as well as works for the youngest students at the studio, is lovely. Her approach is grounded in real modern/contemporary technique, and her sweetly supportive demeanor is a pleasure. She’s very easy to connect to as an adult student, and I can see how she’d also be beloved by the littles. I haven’t had the opportunity to take many classes from Kali, the new hip hop teacher, but from what I’ve experienced, she’s excellent as well. That class is still growing and is aimed at the beginner level, but Kali has an encouragingly energetic personality and builds the class effectively. My daughter has also been a student at the studio in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and acro dance classes. She’s returned to dance (post-COVID and after we’ve struggled to find quality studios), has improved significantly in a short period of time, and (most importantly) is genuinely enjoying herself! Tyler’s instruction and encouragement are the reasons for this. He really seems to SEE her and remains genuinely invested in her progress. Also, the ethos of the studio is HEALTHY and FUN while still being the appropriate level of serious (yay for required uniforms and punctuality!). Tyler demands commitment from the young students (any studio worth its salt should!), and the focus, discipline, work ethic, and commitment he models himself has inspired my daughter. To gain the respect of an opinionated pre-teen is no small feat!As is probably apparent, I’m passionate about dance AND quality dance education. I’m still dancing today because of the great training I was able to receive in wonderful studios growing up. I’ve been looking for that magic again for myself and for my daughter as we’ve moved between both Coasts and now into the Midwest. I would put the instruction and training from Tyler and The Studio Center up against any top local studio in the country. Tyler has created a truly impressive studio and community for dance in his small corner at the outskirts of Ann Arbor. My daughter and I are truly grateful to be a part of it!
Paige Apsey: Highly recommend The Studio Centre! Mr. Tyler is truly professional, passionate, and fun. If you or your student are looking for top-notch instructors in a top-notch environment - this is your place!
Aidan Sova: I cannot recommend this place enough! Tyler was so helpful and knowledgeable. Super recommend!
Xan Morgan: We have two kids (5th grade girl and 10th grade boy) in dance atThe Studio Centre and they love it! They are challenged, empowered, and confident thanks to Mr. Tyler and his teaching team. I love that my kids always get in the car with happy and calm spirits after they have spent an evening dancing with good friends, fun music, and kind teachers.
Anna Wojan: Tyler is an excellent instructor! Experienced and professional. The space is great too!
Lydia Nelson: This was not a good experience formy daughter who was 3 when she took her first “movement” class. The studio owner, Tyler, spoke so rudely to the children and parents and was extremely strict regarding color of tights, bows in hair, etc, which was irritating as this is not the Russian ballet but a movement class for toddlers. Parents were also forbidden to watch their child during dance which made me a little uncomfortable–especially since watching my daughter dance was going to be the highlight of hauling her to class early on a Saturday. Also, he never unenrolled me from the next class even though I told him we weren’t continuing and I keep getting payment reminders. He even added a late fee. Look elsewhere.
Emily Barker: Signed up for summer classes, was not aware of the strict dress code or that there were pre requisites for the 5 year olds class. Tyler was very unprofessional and talked down to my daughter. She was so excited to dance and left in tears. I never received a full refund even though we weren't allowed to join the class we signed up for. Disappointing all around. I don't recommend this studio for young kids.
Jessica Thompson: Our young dancers had a wonderful experience at the Studio Centre! We found everything to be well organized and communication was superb. Mr. Tyler is very professional and passionate. Would highly recommend!
Shellee Stickel: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Kaycie Jones: My daughter loved her time here. If your child wants an instructor that takes this craft seriously, this is the place! Adult classes are also available.
Matt Rogers: Mr. TYLER is an amazing teacher and instructor. Smart, talented and kind.
Ashley McCloskey: The Studio Centre is a wonderful place! Tyler is a respectful, fun, and knowledgeable instructor for all ages of students. The space is clean and welcoming. You will love dancing here!
Emily Rogers-Driskill: Excellent training: focused on training and technique not competition.
Michael Reed: Love The Studio Centre! Great classes, space, and teaching by Tyler!
Allison Sweet: The Studio Centre is a great space open to dancers and athletes at all levels and ages. The adult dance and fitness (HIIT) classes are fun, easy to follow, and a great work out for adults. Tyler is very knowledgeable and passionate about his teaching. A great addition to the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti/Saline community! Highly recommended!
Valeria Mora: Mr. Tyler's classes are incredible. He works with passion, and love. My daughter loves ballet classes
Michael Sullivant: Tyler is a great teacher. He’s really good at breaking down complex moves and blending them together. He meets you where you’re at and helps you work on your unique target areas to make you better.

Shine Dance Fitness Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Aimee Strong: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityHaving never danced, I was nervous to try Shine, but I am so glad I did! Every workout I leave with a huge smile on my face after sweating up a storm. Dancing with Michelle provides a fabulous workout with an amazingly positive environment that makes you so happy you came. I love Shine!
Sasha DeMoss: Positive:QualityShine Dance Fitness Ann Arbor is the most fun work out that I have ever done! You absolutely do not need to have any prior dance experience, and the hour long cardio session gives amazing results. The facility has been very covid-cautious, and the attenders are vaccinated. I am so glad that I found this group of fun, supportive women!
Abigail Barker: I am not someone who usually attends workout classes or enjoys dancing in public, but a good friend encouraged me to try Shine with Michelle, and I'm so glad I did! Michelle creates a welcoming and positive environment where everyone can feel comfortable and shine! The hour passes quickly and it's such a fantastic workout. You don't have to worry about keeping up with every move - the goal is to have fun and move your body in an active and supportive community. Highly recommend!
Ashley Martin: I had heard about Shine for a while from a friend who loved the classes, but I have always been apprehensive about participating in any kind of fitness class because I’m worried I will be way out of place. However, after I worked up the courage to go, that fear was immediately put to rest. Michelle was so reassuring and made me feel so at ease. I was able to get an incredible, fun workout at the fitness level I came in at, and I never felt self conscious or like I didn’t belong there. I left sweaty and happy! It was by far the best and most fun workout I’ve had. I cannot recommend Shine in Ann Arbor highly enough!
Emily Chamberlain: Hands down the best dance fitness experience I've ever had! I've been a customer for a while now and I'll never go back to any other fitness format. After seeing SHiNE advertised on YouTube, I knew I needed to give it a try, and SDFA2 did not disappoint! Michelle is so kind and welcoming, and she brings good energy to the dance floor. She always shows modifications in case we need them, and the lights are dimmed when class starts, which really helps everybody just focus on themselves, let loose, and have fun. The other customers are also very nice and encouraging; I felt like I was just in class with friends from the moment I arrived. Everyone there just has the same good energy that's always lacking in the gym and other studios, which makes all the difference for so many of us. If you're thinking about coming to class, here's your sign!

Michigan Academy of Dance & Music: what do users think?
Pamela Irakoze Ngomanseke: My two daughters take dance classes at Michigan Academy of dance and music, they love it so much!!! They love it so much and are looking forward to making long term memories.
Maggie Wood: We have loved Michigan Academy of Dance for my 3 year old daughter. The teachers have been kind and energetic. I highly recommend.
Doreen I: I am so pleased with the progress my daughter has made at Michigan Academy of Dance and Music. At 12 years, my daughter was a late starter in ballet so she had a great boost taking private lessons with Miss Pantea, in addition to group class lessons last year. This year, we are so fortunate to have Miss Irina Vassileni, formerly of the Bolshoi ballet, join Michigan Academy of Dance and Music. It has been a joy to see my daughter advancing in ballet as she is gently guided in this art. It is so pleasing to see her development as “a student of the ballet.”At the studios, parents can watch classes from behind mirrored windows, and right now, rehearsals with beautiful choreography can be appreciated as we round up the year’s work with the annual recital in June.A big shout out to Miss Karen at the front desk. A more friendly and helpful receptionist you cannot find.
Junhui Zhao: My daughter Anna come to the studio since she a little over 3 years old. It is been wonderful 5 years of dance. She also takes piano lesson and voice lesson from the studio. Everyone is so nice here! Anna becomes more confident. We love the studio! Highly recommend to everyone who’s interested in dance and music!
Sam Starcher: Our daughter has been dancing at MIADM for 6 years now. She has grown so much with the guidance of the amazing teachers and staff! The way they handled COVID was great! The students we well taken care of on Zoom and when it came to recital they had an amazing Red Carpet experience when we got to go with our dancer and she took pictures, preformed and got to find a star with her name on it!
Margot Bingham: My daughter loves her dance classes!
Wrigley May: MIADM is the best!! The teachers, the staff, the dancers, the parents, the environment! This place really makes you feel welcome and so do the people. We love the teachers here and making friends just comes so easily because everyone is so nice! I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great dance company, and a great studio, to come here. Michigan Academy Of Dance And Music is just amazing and I couldn't think of a better dance family. Fun, family friendly, just the greatest! Please do come here so these lovely teachers can continue to teach these lovely dancers!! Fan favorite from this family!!!!😁😍
Timothy Arthur: One of the best decisions we made as parents is sending our daughters to Michigan Academy. They are thoughtful, kind and fun! My kids look forward every day, and my wife and I can’t wait for the End of Year showcase every year. Thanks to all the amazing dance instructors and support to make a great experience for my kids :).
Laura Epperson: Our family has been dancing at this studio for 7 years. What started as two of my kids dancing has turned into 4, soon 5, of my kids dancing. We appreciate the variety of genres available, as well as varying levels available. There really is something for everyone. From beginners classes to competitive level classes, private lessons, music lessons… we have experience in all of it and could not be happier. We won’t dance anywhere else. The community this studio creates is like family and the teachers not only train them in the technique and artistry of dance, but also create relationship which is so beneficial for the well rounded dancer and kid. So thankful for this dance family. Highly recommend.
Jamasb Sokansanj: Very family friendly with exceptional staff. The New Russian Ballet program with Miss Irina Vassileni.
Lisa Koch: Poor communication with the academy front desk, Karen. I have email evidence of the correspondences or lack of. When I called today, she answered and we spoke until she just hung up on me when I was following up about unenrolling my child. I am so shocked anyone who is suppose to be professional would hang up a call like that.Update: I received the refund as stated, but I do not believe there was an effort to resolve my issue with the front desk. No follow-up call from management regarding my unfortunate interaction nor discussion about retaining my patronage. I feel like the academy cares more about their overall reputation (reply to this review) than the individual person who was affected. A call back from management would have been appreciated —something I suggested over the phone and email.
Carine El Masri: This is a horrible place to take your kids! They do not communicate well and only care about charging you ridiculous fees without explaining.
flint town810: My daughter attends dance class here. Great teachers and staff
BlendedLives: This place is a cultural and educational gem of the neighborhood !!!! We are so blessed to be in the midst of an organization that seeks to nourish the creativity and artistic spirit of the community from which it draws its inspiration: our children! They are helping young people connect to their most free and musical selves !!
Lori Krull: Michigan academy of dance and music rocks. The teachers thrive on teaching dance moves and the children make new friends and have fun.
Eliza Schultz: My daughter has been taking piano with Jeff for close to 2 years. Jeff is a fantastic piano teacher. He teaches her workbook chords, classical pieces and current radio songs. She certainly gets a lot of variety. He goes above and beyond to arrange music to her level by either enhancing a piece or simplifying it for her. If she doesn't have the music for a song they wish to work on, he has gone out of his way to hunt down the music, and then arrange it individually for her. I especially love the duets they do together on the piano, but in addition, she certainly learns pieces by herself. He has taken a child who knew absolutely nothing about playing piano, and turned her into to a child learning songs using both hands simultaneously. The studio has private practice rooms with a window in the door. I am able to peek in on her lesson at any time I wish to see how she is doing. Jeff also explains to me as a parent what she should be working on at home, and how she is progressing. My daughter also started dance at Michigan Academy this past fall. Michigan Academy went out of their way to welcome her also as a dance student. Mrs. Lisa and all the dance teachers are extremely approachable. I can not even put into words how refreshing that is. When choosing a dance studio, I have learned that it is extremely important to know that the staff are approachable. They really welcome all questions and take their time with all students and their families in a professional manner. This makes for a comfortable environment that students thrive in, and parents also feel comfortable because we as parents are never left in the dark and everything is always explained. Truly stress free. You can tell immediately that they really truly care about all students in regards to their dance education, empowering the child's self esteem, and helping them grow as individuals, even outside of dance. The dance teachers at Michigan Academy also go above and beyond. Recently, when my daughter asked what she could work on at home to improve, Mrs.Rebecca went out of her way and made a list of ideas for her that she could do at home. She gave her suggestions, such as, straddle split rolls and barre work that she could do on her own time. As you can see, the dance teachers really take the time to help the students with their individual dance goals.Michigan Academy is a place for all ages and all levels! Every student is welcomed, appreciated, and celebrated. I highly recommend Michigan Academy to any child interested in dance or music. My daughter couldn't be happier at Michigan Academy and I also couldn't be happier that we found this studio.
April R: My 2 year old and I have so much fun during the dance and music class. I have also started their fitness classes that are offered in the evening. It has been a welcoming experience and we plan to attend for a long time!
Lisa Bandemer: I teach at Michigan Academy of Dance & Music and love the positive energy of the entire studio! The family friendly feel of MI*ADM creates a very comfortable setting for all students and faculty. I love it!
Lauren Henderson: They offer a great variety of workout classes, and they're all fun and motivating!
Rachael Cash: I love this studio. Its a great atmosphere and the teachers really care about the kids. They also keep the little girls innocent and elegant while teaching the fundamentals.
Jeffrey Nicholas: Wonderful learning environment for kids of all ages!
