Tharider J: I went to the Kellogg Eye Center after receiving a recommendation from a highly regarded hospital in Maryland that I have cataract surgery for both eyes and additional surgery to insert a tube to reduce interocular eye pressure. Dr. Shah at Kellogg recommended a relatively simple outpatient laser treatment that was quick and seems to have worked. I'm glad I got a second opinion from the Kellogg Center.
Sven Holcombe: Like others have noted, the scheduling system is entirely broken. Routine check-up appointments do not need 2.5 hours in a waiting room (it would have been longer, we gave up due to other commitments scheduled 3 hours after supposed appointment). It is impossible for this length of a wait to be a surprise to staff yet there was no mention and no communication of any kind. Not a recommended location for pediatric care.
Sarieshalls: archaic controlling mask rules . ridiculously long wait in the waiting room. different doctors have conflicting diagnoses. restricted insurance- only ine vision company accepted.
Ariana Thelen: I have been consistently been kept waiting more than an hour after appointment time for my child to be seen. There was never any explanation or apology offered. This is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional.
Gee Money: Horrible wait times. You will sit for hours. It never seems busy. But you will sit and wait for hours. Go to Kresge or somewhere else!!!

Ryan Pratt: This place used to be great. Unfortunately, the back office is considerably understaffed in 2023. I've been trying to get a new lens ordered for months now and still don't have full eyesight due to their inability to just order me my lens. I'm moving to a new doctor.
Cynthia in Chicago: Don’t schedule eye surgery if you’re not local! Went for pre-op appointment. At end of appointment doctor indicated he had no idea I was there for surgery pre-op. I scheduled the surgery 9 months ago and the doctor cancelled 3 days before 1st procedure. Scheduler suggested I go ahead with one lens replacement and just deal with un-corrected double vision for an additional 4 weeks until the doctor was available again. No problem for scheduler or doctor if I couldn’t drive, read, or do many other things. My husband scheduled vacation to drive me. We had hotels that had to be canceled. Plans for an international travel had to be cancelled. No problem for Kellogg Eye Center!

Jen W: I have had good experiences here, but today is an atrocity. I’m here with Grandma, who is 95! We’ve been here two hours. This was an appointment they rescheduled, and they have no sense of urgency or respect for the time of others. This is unhealthy for an elderly person besides. She feels like they don’t care about her care. I’m inclined to agree. They’re unapologetic. I would not recommend bringing an elderly loved one here. I’m beyond annoyed. I type this and have found out she still has two people in front of her to see this doctor. We were given no warning about this visit taking this long. This is horrendous. Really and truly. This place used to be a well-oiled machine and it’s just not now.Add to that… people visibly and audibly sick are here. They’re not sending them home or rescheduling them. Just letting them fill the air with gross.
Mel: Drove 2.5 hours only to be told my insurance may not cover this appointment and I needed to sign a waiver that I would be financially responsible for all expenses??? How about a phone call prior to appointment with an option to reschedule until insurance/coverage is determined? Extremely disappointed
cheyenne: I took my daughter who has special needs to the center for a consultation at the referral of her doctor. We seen the eye doctor and she was wonderful. They are great with children who have special needs. We were going to have a sedated exam but the doctor was so patient and thorough that we didn't need to do that. I appreciate their services.
Kayla Fike: Unbelievable wait times.I got an appointment first thing in morning when they open. I got into the room and thought this will be perfect! I’ll be in and out in no time!I’ve been sitting in a room for over 30 mins with no nurses or doctors. The 2 nurses who came in to do the basic field tests didn’t talk to me as they did the tests, and another nurse just checked to see if I’d had a test I did 30 mins ago done. Every time I come here the appointment takes well over 2 hours and I only meet with the actual doctor for 5 mins.Very unhappy with the care I’ve been receiving here at KEC since my first appointment a year ago.

Understanding, patient, kind, and did everything they could to reassure me and make sure I felt safe and cared for! They got on top of the problem and my eyesight has returned and I'm beyond grateful for that! I'm so grateful for this place and their staff! Without them I may have lost vision in my right eye for good. I am forever in their debt!
B J Y: I just completed my second cataract surgery at Kellogg Eye Center. They removed cataracts from both of my eyes. The customer service was great, the nurses were wonderful, friendly, attentive, the operating room staff was A+ including the nurse anesthetist. It was a wonderful experience. And what made it even greater is that I can see clearly again. I’m so grateful to them for removing my cataracts and replacing them with new lens so that I can see well. And while performing that service, their care and attentiveness was outstanding. I don’t hesitate to recommend them!
Dwayne Michael Carter JR: Worst place. Over schedule appointments, you will be waiting for more than 2 hours just to be seen. They need to do better with appointments. The doctors are great, but the overall waiting is too long
Bill Moran: A little better than most places I've been to, with an outstanding selection of frames.
Min Ling: The billing department here is a total mass, my daughter went for an appointment back in May, and they charged her for two future charges (I believe they should bill the insurance first) and she paid. Guess what, after almost three months, the payment was still not posted into her account at patient financial. Still do not know where the payment went, did somebody pocket that money?

Waleed Howrani: Clarkson Eyecare are very professional, friendly, and take time to axplain every detail in a manner which is easy to understand. They put the patient's interest ahead of their own.
Maria Arce: Bad experience unfortunately. They charged me the wrong price for my lenses. According to my insurance they should had charged me $50 for co-payment. But they charged me $100. When I followed the procedure to get a refund, no one ever answered. I sent the email I was told, the documents I was told, to the email address I was told and almost a month later no one had gave me any response. I went to the store on May 1st 2023 and the manager had a very bad attitude, almost yelling at me instead of offering a solution. Her explanation was that the "premium" category of my lenses -as charged in my bill- was actually "ultra" lenses. I told her that no one ever explained that to me during the buying process and that I thought I was ordering premium lenses and paying accordingly. And that I wasn't sure what kind of lenses I finally got. Her attitude was horrible treating me as if I was stupid and couldn't identify the difference between lenses. She didn't even believed me that I called several times trying to get an answer and forced me to show her the history of my calls and the emails I sent. I was never mistreated like this. If you need a pair of glasses buy them somewhere else. BTW, my insurance still says that they should reimburse me. That they charged me the wrong price.

Sofia Reed: They are truly expert. I've had great experiences with kind staff and doctors and they have a wonderful selection of frames. The staff helped me pick out really flattering frames during covid when I couldn't have a friend there to help me and, when I picked up my new glasses, they carefully fitted them and made adjustments. heather stevenson: I went here a week ago for an exam and to get a new prescription for both glasses and contacts. I was in desperate need of an appointment since I couldn’t find my last box of contacts and I was standing up in a wedding that weekend. I called and they were able to get me in at 5:30pm that day. They didn’t mind me bringing my 5 year old with me and were very kind to her. They offered to do the tests/imaging using devices that don’t require them to dilate your eyes which was very convenient and the price they offered is very affordable. They gave me multiple boxes of contacts to try over the next couple weeks to make sure we choose a brand that will be a comfortable fit.
Laurie Burg: Had my eye exam at the Stadium Blvd office. Couldn't order my eyeglasses that day (not their fault). When I called later, my detailed order could not be found! Called Main St office to go in and re-do. Beth answered and listened to my problem. Main St location didn't accept my insurance. Beth offered to call Saline office to check insurance so to go order my glasses that day.Beth called me later to say with a little EXTRA digging, she found my order in the system after all! I did not have to physically come to ANY location and redo my entire frame selection and order. A simple phone call to the Stadium Blvd office the next day, where Beth was also working, enabled me to order and pay for my eyeglasses on the spot.KUDOS TO BETH for putting in a little extra effort and solving my frustrating problem.

I was worried when Clarkson bought Bennett’s, and feared that it would lose the small town feel and the personal touch. Not one bit. Absolutely love this place.
Jack Fishstrom: The Clarkson office on Main Street in Ann Arbor is efficiently operated and staffed with great people. I always have no problem getting an appointment at a day/time that works with my schedule. They answer the phone (a person!) when I call the office also, not just "go on-line to reach us." Dr. Welte is friendly and caring, and I hope she will be my optometrist for many years to come. The other members of the team are exceptional also. Nicole took care of the initial parts of the exam. She is a lot of fun and knows her stuff. Finally, Sam is great, too. Sam is patient and kind, and she treated me with respect even though I may be "high maintenance," with all my questions and chit-chat. She was always helpful and sweet, and I trust her advice and consider her a warm-hearted and generous soul. She skillfully helped me make difficult decisions about eye glasses, and I am grateful to her for the personalized care.
