Grace Popple: Great day out. Well organized crew at Skip's means little time wasted and more relaxing with friends and family on the river. At the top of the river they had all the ordered boats set out so no need to wait to get them set up. At the pull out loads of enthusiastic Skips people to help pull us to shore and pull out and clean the boats. Pricing is good and the river is beautiful. We went with friends and a roommate and saw fish, a heron, and a turtle scurrying around under the water.

Rachel Stern: Took 7 friends on a trip yesterday. Booking online and signing waivers ahead of time was super easy. Instructions in email were clear about where to park, and there were signs at the metro park. The trip itself was great, lots of opportunities to stop at a park along the way if wanted. We pulled off at the cider mill in Dexter and enjoyed donuts and cider. Most in the group were pretty inexperienced at paddling, but we had no issues, the long trip took us about 4 hours including the shuttle ride and cider stop.

I saw some tubes with back rests but mine did not have one and after a bit it did get a little uncomfortable but other than that it was fun. Keep your eyes on the water to see some really cool schools of river red horse and some small mouth bass

Daniel Brown: Can't beat a two hour rental for around $20. Line can be long but moves pretty quickly. Staff is very friendly.The river can get hot if it is sunny, as there isn't much tree cover or shade, so I would recommend trying to go on a cloudy day or in the spring or fall, unless you enjoy hot weather. Fun times either way!

The only thing that has bothered me is the BLM painted on the sidewalk by the back playground. This park is for everone of every background. Please do not politicize a place where people seek to get a measure of peace.

Rebecca Barnes: The family absolutely loves Argo Park. It's such a peaceful scene. The park is clean, the cascades are a blast to ride and the people are always friendly. I'd say this is one of Michigan's hidden gems!

Highly suggest the kayaking there, whether you rent one or bring your own. The kayak rental stand has concessions and supplies (like sunscreen) in case you forgot anything. Great spot for picnics and family gatherings.

Tom Carrio: Love having a place to go for kayaking. They have a river loop so you don't have to do any shuttling for the ponds or that. They also have a more adventurous 4 hour river trip from Clinton where they shuttle you up. Their kayaks are awesome and the price is fair (if you're going kayaking 20+ times a year, maybe think about getting your own though). They've treated us well during every trip and we would definitely recommend them.

We kayaked on the 2 hr loop, we started off slow until we reached the dam and then we had to get out of the river and put back in on the other side of the dam. We had to maneuver around some rapids, trees and some turns. I'm in my late 50's and was able to Kayak this run. We were able to drop in two of our own Kayaks and rented two for our kids. Great prices too!

Second trip only took a half hourish.First part of the trip is calm and you paddle your way through. Then you get out and walk you kayak across the dam.When you get back in.... hello current and small rapids!! Hahahah. It was a blast. The 2nd time you take the kayak (not as clearly marked) out the hill is very steep and can be difficult to carry the kayak up the hill.We did the loop twice and took about 3 hours total.We will definitely go again!!!

The staff are so kind and do an amazing job keeping up with the river, but also keep things interesting when a tree falls! I love the additions to the river through the summer, it keeps things interesting! You can also stop along the way and explore the trail that is along side thing river. Often you will see wildlife like deer, geese, turtles, swans and even herons!! It truly is a beautiful experience every time you go. I can not say enough good things about this place.I can’t wait for them to open again here soon!!! Tatyana Sherman: My husband and I love this place. It is a beautiful, scenic, and tranquil place. There are two options to choose from (for the same price). The first one is a relaxing route with a channel and 2 ponds. The second option is a more advanced river loop in addition to the channel and ponds. We usually rent kayaks for 2 hours and go to the River loop. The river has many turns and twists. You have to watch the river and make decisions quickly. The current is different all the time that makes it fun and a good workout. The river is not wide and kind of shallow, so you can easily get back into your kayak in case of flipping. We feel it is adventurous, but not dangerous activity. And the staff is very friendly and helpful.
