Washtenaw County Community Mental Health: what do users think?
LEADER: They are med pushers.
Jnyvngcngc Kihahgc: Dirty deeds.
DANIEL HANSEN: I finally closed my case at community mental health after being a client for years. If you are new to the homeless scene then this place is not for you. You will go down the rabbit hole! Their limited resources will leave you in the streets or at one of the facilities. Baker Commons, miller manner, Aspen chase. The worst places to ever exist in. Unless, you should be so far gone to life of homelessness. you belong in one of these places then. But not if you are day one on the streets and never had been on the streets. Beware of community mental health. It has taken me years to get back to the same space of mind before I was homeless and put in a facility that community mental health put me in.As for the care received a community mental health, I was with Judy gentz at the time and stayed with her until she retired. The the medications they use are archaic. I was put on every single med t I had already been on for years that had never worked for me before.I suggest educating yourself about medication beforehand so that you can have the idea of what the best fit of medication is for you and not allow the doctor to decide it for you. you make that decision together I was never given an opportunity to have a say in the medication of which I took. Until I did research and advocated the medication myself. So many arguments so many times they tried to take me off of it and now I've been on it for years and I'm highly highly successful and have never been a stable in my entire lifetime. I can only find that after I left me to mental health and found other providers.Community mental health is a facility of addiction specialists geared for people that are of a hopeless variety.I could go on forever
Richard Welch: I have had to use the Washtenaw Community Mental Health Services in Ann Arbor for many years. The staff there are more than helpful and do try their best at helping anyone and everyone with their individual needs and issues. I am aware of their limited resources but they do go out of their way to help you regardless of their limitations. In the past I was introduced to John Stacey, just one of the leaders there, and he bends over backwards for everyone. The community doesn't realize just how tough it is to do the work that they do. The complaints that are said of them are blatantly false and unfair.Richard Welch
darrel james: Incompetence at it's best. Your typical socialite theorists but nothing in actual practice. It's all abstract consultation. The level of care is non existent. We go to our primary care physician whom is not a specialist in psychiatry but is willing to at least try to make medication adjustments to alleviate my sons chronic suffering.Monroe cmh is much better.Dr. Bright should have gotten her degree in accounting. And she's the lead Dr. Lmaooooo
Mitchell Ozog: Wow...my son asking for emotional support animal letter, doctor refused to do so, NO professional ethics by doctor. Failure of a doctor to not help at all in such a situation would generally be regarded as negligent and unethical.
DDT Grisch: Where to begin?? Oh my lord!! Ruthless or just ampathetic. I have never witnessed so much crazy in my entire life in this town. Whatever you call this industry it needs a revamping from top to bottom. Ive lived here my entire life and never would have thought these atrocities take place. I second guess it all.. completely dispicapable in my opiniated facts.

St. Mary Mercy Outpatient Psychiatric Services Program: what do users think?
Melissa Roberts: They never pick up the phone and they require you to be in therapy for psychiatric evals. Therapy isn't meant for everyone, so way to go at making mental evaluations less accessible
Maren Sande: Be aware that you will be charged a $185 facility fee each month whether you have one appointment per month or one every day, even if the appointment is virtual, even if less than an hour. These charges ended up being a third of the cost of my treatment.
C Ortiz (sweetpea): Dr. Silva has given our lives something to hope for. He knows what he is talking about!
Ashley: Dr. Silva( Child Psychiatrist) is the best thing that has happened for my family since I started to suspect my son had A.D.H.D.Dr. Silva is super knowledgeable and great at what he does. He makes no assumptions or snap judgements and has given my son and I more support than we've gotten anywhere else on this journey. Our family has benefitted greatly because of his dedication, expertise and willingness to listen and understand. I can't imagine where we would be today without Dr. Silva and the kind, patient and easy -to -work -with staff at St. Joes Behavioral. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart!!!
Jerard Rosser: Very clean and well kept. Great staff.
Denise Dancey: My mother has been seeing a therapist here for over 10 years and has not gotten any better. but by all family members opinion, way worse. Horrible place to get advice. Will take your money, this place is a scam.
Travis Peterson: The staff at the mercy psychiatric system have been excellent they're very courteous and prompt on their appointment setting and I have found that the mercy system is a grade A system to work with and I would recommend it to anyone at this point.
William Kellar: Wonderful people!
Scarlett Baginski: Wait list to see a therapist is 16 people long.
Jerome Blue: Could not be better. Staff and client workers are all excellent.
Junya Inohara: The service I have received here is quite excellent. Dr. Liebman was very friendly and concise, and the front desk was the same. With my BCBS insurance, it worked out to be no copay at all, too.I had a similar problem to Rachel in the 1-star review in that the intake process for this location is quite slow. You call and leave a message with the correct information, and about 2-3 days later they called back. So if you called and are getting no response, you may have to wait half a week until they get back to you (and pay attention to your phone!) because they seem to do it in a First-In-First-Out fashion. If they would explain that in the voicemail message, I would probably have not taken off a star, but it's a bit confusing for newcomers. The rest of the service is excellent, though.
R S: According to their website, they have intake operators M-F, 9am-5pm. I have literally called them every single day this week, multiple times a day, and it always goes to voicemail. I've left two messages, only the second message I left was returned--however, I had the misfortune of being away from my phone at the time. When I called back, somebody hung up on me. I've been calling every half hour, and not one person will answer the phone. Very unprofessional, and if this is how they treat their clients, then I will consider this to be a bullet dodged.

Ann Arbor DBT Center: what do users think?
Jada Frederick: Started therapy here last fall, started with a therapist and a group therapy group. Had about 3 or 4 sessions of both, and have to say it was the most useless therapy I have ever had. Not only that, but my therapist actually quit? Then I get a bill, which like whatever nothing is free in this world, and I can’t afford the bill so I go on a payment plan. There have been two separate times now where they have charged my account my full amount due instead of charging what my payment plan agreement is. When I asked why this keeps happening, I got an “it was just a mistake”. As someone with anxiety, and as a business that is supposed to treat people for such issues, I’m honestly shocked and appalled at the carelessness displayed by this therapy center.
Sylvia Stepien03: My sister goes to therapy here and I feel like shes made more progress here than anywhere else. I hope she keeps getting better. If you need help this seems like a solid place to start working on getting better. I recommend this therapy center to many patients I see in my ER.
Natalie GRUBBS: This saved my sons life. It’s a year long program with group and one on one sessions. It teaches you how to deal with situations with you have no hope left
Jacqueline Jacobs: zero communican with parents, they change my insurance a TON and does not seem to be that helpful to my child
alyssa: I do not recommend. One of the one on one therapists are extremely forgetful, would have to tell them things multiple times, over and over and over. Was also called out for picking at my nails, a thing I do when I get anxious, and proceeded to accuse me of being on my phone and told me to not pick at my nails again. Is an EXTREME medication pusher, wouldn’t take no for an answer. I told them i didn’t want to go on more meds but kept pushing them. Group was extremely awkward, no one spoke until called on.
Sav: I left before completion.well I was kicked out for calling my therapist a c*ntbut that’s exactly why I needed the therapy.Marsha says that dbt puts a huge emphasis on not terminating therapy because of a clients problems.im just now starting to recover from the abandonment of this place 4 years later.only 9 people in the state have a board certification for dbt specifically and I don’t think any of them work here.I highly recommend the DBT center of Michigan, they have 2 board certified therapists
Krystina Stepien: I’ve been seeing a therapist for almost 7 months now. C.L. has been great, phone coaching has really helped me especially with targeting behaviors. Overall care is really good. You can tell Carol and her team are dedicated to helping their clients and my individual therapist for sure has gone above and beyond to give me the best care possible. Super caring individual and really gentle which has been super helpful. Group therapy is helpful especially when figuring out what works and what doesn’t. This is an exceptional DBT clinic.
Rosie Parra: This was a few years back but I Saw Dave I won he did tell me that I cut myself because I was bored he told me to just quit with all the suicide attempt and cutting he basically made fun of me for me in a wheelchair he just kept continuing asking over and over again “I don’t understand how you need to have a wheelchair if you have a headache” he basically wouldn’t help me figure out what was bothering me he was just like so how does that affect you and I would say I don’t know and he wouldn’t explain any father he yelled at me once because I said I don’t know.
R Klay: The individual therapist, one of the newer ones on their staff, was completely unable to connect with my teen in a meaningful way and did not seem to have an understanding of even the fundamental symptoms of anxiety.EDITED TO ADD: After finally speaking with the head clinician to share my frustration, I'd change this rating to zero stars if I could. I guess I expected an apology for our awful experience or at the very least an expression of empathy - or even an offer of the opportunity to meet with a (more qualified) therapist or try one of their groups. Nothing of the sort was offered, just a curt and dismissive response. I'll be sharing this experience with the health care facility that recommended the DBT Center, and would caution anyone who's in limbo on the DBT Center's (surprisingly long) waitlist for an individual appointment to give the therapist a thorough vetting over the phone before taking the time (and money) to meet in person. I was so happy to get off the waitlist that I failed to do so. Luckily we found a great therapist elsewhere (and what a contrast to this experience!!) There are plenty in this town - it's worth asking around to find them.
Traven Pelletier: My wife and a number of my friends have been patients here and all of them have grown tremendously from their work with the Center! This is a great place to work on retraining yourself to be your best self, or working through negative and harmful behavioral patterns and traumas.
Kristy Pelletier: This program is fantastic! Once you allow yourself to give into change it helps with all kinds of emotional and behavioral problems. It works if you work it, and you need to want to be better. It changed my life, I'm so happy and have learned to love myself again!
Unpaid Intern: Totall scam, litterally stole money out of my coat while I went to the bathroom
C Z: Dropped us from care in the middle of an intense crisis, literally canceling sessions we had scheduled, leaving me with a mentally ill teenager and ZERO care. They then had the gall to call back two months later asking "if they could help with any transition in care for my child". To add insult to injury, we were on a waiting list for months to get seen by these garbage therapists. They failed us spectacularly and it was horrible. I beg you to look elsewhere.Edit 2/12/19: my review has not been followed up on. I'm not surprised.
Brandon McGlashen: Can not get a call back after a referral from UM. Ive left 3 voicemails. If you're full...communicate that to people who are trying to get help so they can look for alternatives in the interim.
Ariel R: I found them to be very helpful and caring.
Colleen Wivell: This program is outstanding for teenagers who have black & white thinking and suffer from self harm. After 2 years of struggling, I feel we are finally making progress. The content is putstanding and Rachel & Mackenzie do a great job of leading group. It’s not just about “fixing the teen”, but working with the family to function better together.
Morgan Rondinelli: The Ann Arbor DBT Center both saved and changed my life. My therapist was fantastic. I graduated the program and left with countless coping skills. Thank you to everyone there!!
Lauren Duff: Six months into the program my individual therapist quits, then my therapist for my group quits. The replacement quits too. So now I have a temporary therapist for one month who I can’t reach because she never gave me her phone number, and then I have to switch to another therapist. Then I’m supposed to switch to a fourth therapist. NOPEThis is disrupting my care. Do not go here. You are better off getting DBT from an individual therapist than in a group setting where one person can derail the whole class and no one stops them. They also don’t have an ability to swipe cards or process payment by cards and take too long to cash checks. I’m sorry, taking a month and a half to cash my check is unacceptable.Good luck reaching their billing department, it’s some random third party biller.I’m so glad that I’ll be done with this place in less than a month, I wish I just stuck with my regular therapist and did DBT with her because this was a waste of time.
Stephanie Cole: The style of therapy wasn't one that worked for our family. We had lack of communication from our individual therapist overall. It was also difficult to receive a call back from our individual or one of our group leaders. Not only did we pay our co-pay for individual therapy, but we paid 2 co-pays for our group therapy since the center wouldn't bill group sessions as family sessions. Very disappointed since UofM recommended this center so high, but I would not recommend it to anyone.
