Must try foods on their menu: Dover sole, any of their steaks, french onion soup, brussels, mac & cheese, au gratin potatoes, house salad, always fresh oysters professionally shucked, and anything off the dessert menu. Come with a big appetite because the qualify of the homemade recipes always hits perfectly. The service will always be top notch, and you are getting your money worth with the experience of eating here. Don't sleep on this place because of the generic name, trust.
Gerald Curtis: Our first time at the Chop House, Ann Arbor was amazing. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. Our server, Liam, was funny, attentive and informative. I went with my wife and daughter, and for starters we had the Cheese Plate. They each ordered the Fruits de Mer, while I had the Beef Wellington. Our sides were Cheddar au Gratin Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Broccoli. For dessert, we had the Candy Bar Bomb and Sorbet Trio.Liam's descriptions and guidance were spot on, and every item that hit the table was met with enthusiasm. The table was cleaned and straightened between courses, and all three main course plates were placed on the table simultaneously by three servers (very nice touch). We had an outstanding experience, and we will definitely be back.

Jordan Bettencourt: After a few years of not coming in due to some not great experiences, my husband and I took the chance on Sunday and was completely blown away with the service we had with Paul. There was a huge table sat down right before us and we didn’t want to be sat close to them due to kids running around and just too close for comfort. Our server generously allowed us to go to a different table and still served us. He was so kind and patient with us and just outstanding with everything. I very much am wanting to go back just because of him! Thank you Paul for restoring our faith at the Ann Arbor Outback! Not only was the food incredible, but the service was fantastic too, and that is hard to find now-a-days!

Bianca Williams: For starters, there steak is amazing!! This was my first time visiting Ruth’s Chris. Our experience was nothing short of spectacular. The waiter was very nice, he explained how Ruth’s Chris cooks there food which I found to be interesting. We tried there ribeye steak, as well as the lamb chops, and both were amazing. The asparagus was good, not soggy at all and it came with a butter sauce that made it even better. I didn’t care for their Mac and cheese, it was quite bland, I wouldn’t order it again. Their crab cakes were also good, worth trying. We went to celebrate our anniversary and the waiter surprised us with a cheesecake to share as our dessert. I would definitely visit this location again.

A bit chilly but a beautiful day. We were with my 81 year old parents, my dad with a cane and short sleeve shirt. There is no way they didn't see us. They allowed us to stand, waiting until exactly 5PM! Such arrogance on their part, especially since there was a waiting area just inside the door. Now, how much trouble would it have been to open the door, and invite my father to sit while we waited? So simple!

I was on a first date so I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it but I was really disappointed. Her fish was pretty good but I’d rather go to Texas Roadhouse. BEE DUBBYA: What can I say about ANDY other than he’s the BEST server at RUTH’S CHRIS Ann Arbor. Very attentive and friendly. We never had to ask for ANYTHING! As soon as we finished our water and “soda pops” as he called them lol he was right there refilling the glasses. I’ll be requesting his area EACH time I come. I’m from the Detroit area, even though I normally go to the other location closer to me, but from now on, I will definitely make the 26 min drive to Ann Arbor to sit in Andy’s section. If we could’ve tipped the bill we would have. But we tipped 22 percent because he was AWESOME!

rois Savvides: My favorite restaurant. Sixth visit in two months in 3 states. The one in Ann Arbor is a little better than the rest and the others were great. Servers seem happy to be working at Texas Roadhouse. Excellent job in having high expectations at the time when our country is suffering with people that do not want to work or care bout their work, especially in the food service industry. I always leave the TR happy about the value I have received. Of course it is not the cheapest restaurant but the value is there: Service, food and atmosphere! Marcela did an excellent job. Congratulations for the managers that have maintained the company culture day in and day out. Some of the details require a lot of work and we appreciate not cutting corners.

Kristol Wilson: The portions were not enough. We ordered steak and chicken, the chef diced them up in chunks, I had a half of chicken breast and a half of steak on my plate by the time he was done. I paid over $75 for a child and myself. We were not even full. The service was good. Our chef was kinda boring.

Jason Heien: First time visiting. Made reservations, and we arrived a little early and our table was ready!Sat down , and Gabriel was our server. He was awesome with his recommendations, very attentive, but not hovering. He knew every nuance for every dish. And I mean everything.We started out with cocktails, then appetizers, which we took his recommendation for the seafood studel and the calamari, which were exactly how he had described. Calamari was ever so lightly breaded and salted to where it really accented the calamari without overloading it with breading.Next was our entrees. I go the blackened porkchop, my wife got the burger, my mom got the swordfish, and my stepdad got the sea bass. Everyone LOVED their entrees.For dessert, we chose the orange cake and the carrot cake. Gabriel even noticed in our conversation that there was a birthday, so when they brought out the orange cake it had a candle in it!In all The West End Grill is one high end, 1st class restaurant, that is on our favorites list, and must visit list for Ann Arbor
Rebecca Hogan: Really wanted to like this cozy older neighborhood spot but we did not. The food was insanely overpriced. Yes I know everything is expensive right now- but this was beyond. My scallop dish was basically only pasta, too much sauce and $50! The service was nice as was the wine but we were quite disappointed and will not be back- too many other good and great spots in the area!

john richter: Went there fir dinner last night,I ordered lobster tail dinner and my girlfriend got delmonico dinner,,,delmonico was either sliced or it was a strip steak,8 0z lobster tail was not presented with drawn butter or anything,and also came with a tablespoon of rice,two baby carrots and two potted peas..not enough bang for the buck,will not be returning and wouldn't recommend.
Hockey Mom 7: Loved getting the table in the front window! I’m not a seafood eater but if you like seafood, the menu is choc full of a variety from sea bass to scallops. The tomato basil soup was very good. The lobster tail is 8 ounces and left little to be desired but the swordfish was tasty. The prices are very steep so be prepared to pay $70 for the Delmonico Steak. The big negative is this woman who I believe works there (see pic below) kept walking out and smoking cigarettes in front of the window. Just not a good look for what you pay for inside. Kevin is a good waiter and he deserves 5 stars. Gordy, the general manager was very nice and is very friendly with the patrons. Not sure we will be back.

Jenn Loukotka: First the good stuff: really nice staff, pretty good drinks. My husband said that the key lime pie was good. French onion soup was great. Medium ambience. I don't normally leave reviews but the price was insanely high for how bad the food was. We went out to dinner with some friends and everyone disliked their meal. Two of us had the scallop pasta dish which was $39 and it was SO salty, and had probably two scallops in it. Cocktails are around $20 each, they were decent but definitely not worth $20. My husband had the fish which he said was not good, and came with two baby carrots next to it. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu. We spent a total of $460 between the 4 of us and left really disappointed. Hate to leave a negative review but if you're going to charge that much I would expect better quality.
Spencer Ryan: The drinks were good and the waitress friendly, but the food (Seafood, Steak, Pasta, apps) were all extremely bland and over salted. An extremely disappointing experience given the price point.

Gary Beasley: Worst food and wait staff for the cost of the food. Waited 30 minutes for pretzel app then a nother 40 minutes for our meal. The food all came cold,including the French fries. Chace Morrill: Such a neat experience! My wife and I loved our visit here, it was our first time! Excellent service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere! The only potential downside is because of people cooking steaks on the lava rock (which I strongly suggest), there is a lot of smoke in the air that doesn't clear super well. You can definitely tell it's there when you breathe in for the first little bit.Otherwise I loved it and will definitely be back!

Phillip Collette: This is a really wonderful place with a wonderful layout. Beautiful bar and very cozy back area that we enjoyed. The rolls are really magnificent, soft and delicious served with whipped butter. The Italian wedding soup was top notch and very flavorful. Matthew Hescheles: Came here for our 1 year anniversary. Staff was nice. Ordered the knights cowboy steak for $56 but tasted like a $20 steak. Tasted like it was defrosted and chewy, not tender at all and pretty flavorless. Mashed potato’s were bland. My girlfriends chicken Alfredo was good. Spent a lot of money here but sadly disappointed.

Eddy Liew: A "traditional" steak house in every sense. The restaurant is deceptively large owing to them having a 2nd floor for additional seating. Staff is wonderfully attentive and friendly. Our party of 14 was served promptly, and food arrived fairly quickly.Their offerings are what you would expect of a steak house; large portions with lots of protein choices. They do have salad offerings along with "surf" options like crab legs, shrimp cocktail, etc. Their clam chowder have very generous portion of clams, and the crab legs were meaty. The quality of their food is good but not exceptional although you do get great value for what you paid.5-star they are not, but they are definitely worth consideration when you want a decent surf & turf.
Kyle Lanham: First off, recommend getting reservations no matter what. We went on a Monday thinking it wasn't going to be that busy and it was almost a 2 hour wait (mind you we had 9 people). But I'm glad we stuck it out. Atmosphere is a little dark, but felt homey, like a mom and pop place. Despite being full, noise wasn't an issue. Food...omg. I can describe the taste of my other people's empty plates, but my blackened pork chops were melt in the mouth...just like mine, except better. Highly recommend, but do get reservations, because you may never know.
