Maria Maria: Only had my stuff here for a month and my sofa, armchair and a box of clothes were ruined by ceiling leaks. Luckily I bought insurance on the unit so I got some of the value back. The store manager assured me that I wouldn’t be receiving any of my unit rent back before I even filed my claim. She seemed to be trying to help but said the district manager wasn’t going for it. Several other units had visible water damage and rust on the doors. If you have to use this place, cover your valuables in plastic and get the insurance. I know I won’t be back.
Carl Vitullo: Rent increased twice, from $94 to $138, in under 18 months. Roof leaked with buckets under it for weeks. Keypads break and take weeks to be repaired. Will not use CubeSmart again

Edward Hyena: I cannot recommend this place. The roof leaks and has leaked since 2020. The corporate management and ownership has been content to throw bandages on the issue instead of fixing it with a new roof. Rather than compensate tenants for the uncertainty of whether they will stay dry, they raised the rent 25%. You can find space cheaper elsewhere and have a solid roof over your space.

Matthew Butler: Highly recommend. We were stiffed upon arrival in Ann Arbor by U-Haul (do not count on them to have a space available even with a reservation). Joe Owen at Cube Smart stayed late on a Friday evening to get us into a storage unit. He was awesome. Storage area was perfect. Clean and dry and easy to get items into. There is no reason to look anywhere else in the area.
Will N: My fiancé unit got flooded and they didn’t call her to let her know. It was only a fluke that we happened to go by to drop some things off that we found out. Water everywhere! Just some soggy cardboard boxes but the family in the next unit had severe damage to their belongings and the management was not being helpful to them. Just excuses. She was not told that there is a great deal of flooding when it rains when she rented the unit and they were well aware bc the manager told us he wouldn’t have put us in that unit if he knew it was one of the units that took on water. Wow. No thanks.

Jonathan Trevathan: Not a fan. This facility has changed hands a couple times in the past few years, so I can't put all the blame on the current ownership, but several years ago there was a leak above our unit that ruined many boxes of documents. We cleaned that up, and they assured me they'd fix the leak. Well, last month their roof leaked again, and ruined more boxes of documents. I emailed their support address for help, and didn't get any response. When I was in most recently figuring out how to clean up the mess, the manager of the facility did come over to let me know he'd gotten the email and had forwarded on to regional management, but I haven't heard back from them. I'd advise you to look somewhere else for your storage needs.Update 3/5: Sending a third email to that help address, per your comment below.Update 3/10: Still no response to any of my 3 emails.Update 3/18: Moved out, as they still haven't responded. The on site manager came over to talk to me as we packed up all of our documents that didn't get ruined, and disassembled our now moldy shelves to throw away. He said he'd emailed regional management several times, but wasn't getting a response. He said the company believes the owner should be responsible for things like this, and the owner believes the company should be. I don't understand the setup, but if the buck stops with nobody, my bucks are going somewhere else.

Natasha Suddhi: Convenient storage location close to Ann Arbor, we appreciated that they were temperature controlled for our belongings. Some of the storage units are a bit further walk than others, but it's easy to pull the back of the truck up to the main lobby area, and then you probably don't need to walk more than 100 feet. The GM, Nichole, was wonderful, very friendly and helpful with all our questions and needs (we had an issue where we needed to re-access the storage unit we vacated, our own fault) even when she was super swamped with customers for school-day move in. Good pricing, highly recommend!
Cole Rechsteiner: Easy setup, good system, clean facilities, friendly people. Carts could be upgraded and wheels fixed, but other than that, great experience.

Dante Gray: Been getting the run around with refund request. Said they couldn't return it to the card I used, and it'd have to be mailed from the corporate offices and it'd take a couple weeks. Followed up two weeks later and they said, because it was coming from "corporate" it would take a little longer. Followed up two additional weeks later, and without even checking the account, Kailey said, "it was put back on the card". I informed her of the past reponses, and she says, "well it can take two weeks". I informed her it had been a month, and she said, "it was credited today". I asked if that meant the check was just mailed today, and she said, "I didn't say the check was cut, I said it was credited. It can take another month to receive". For a non-working college student, 2 months seems like an eternity to get a refund and the flippant responses from Kailey are what's going to make me discourage any University of Michigan students needing storage services from choosing this establishment for their business.
Lindsey Messing: This morning I visited the Public Storage facility in Ann Arbor on Industrial Drive and was greeted and helped by Brandii. I wasn't sure what I needed and she showed me a space that could possibly fit my needs and also suggested a number of other options. I left with all the information I needed to make an informed decision. It was such a positive experience to be guided by a friendly and competent agent!

Ali Fleih: Storage Chest at W. Liberty St. is a ripoff. My family won an auction for one of their units, and when we drove over from Ypsilanti to collect my belongings, it was immediately clear that something was wrong. The unit looked totally different from what was advertised in the pictures — high-quality items were removed, and new items not in the photos were now in the unit. There was a small cheap lock on the door instead of the bigger more expensive locks storage companies typically use. Additionally, the manager broke through the small lock with pliers instead of using the red-colored, more powerful lock breaker as seen in original images. The manager told me that someone must have broken into sealed unit without leaving any trace — I find that ludicrous! Save yourself time and money by going somewhere else for your storage needs!

Aaron Shady: Missed appointment to pay by 1 day and charged 177 for a new month (which I can understand) what I can’t understand is not being able to use the additional month I was charged for and on top of that being charged a 100 dollar cleaning fee for a total of $277!!? UnbelievableLori has been absolutely wonderful and more then easy to work with. I would imagine the majority of positive reviews would be because of her.Rhonda smiled and laughed as she gave me that fee and had great pleasure doing it.. what a nasty employee. Someone like this would easily lose the storage chest a good amount of business.

Jennifer Cheung: Best place for storage and amazing customer service. I rented a unit last minute due to COVID-19 and returning home. Their rates are competitive to nearby storages and the staff have only been kind, responsive, and professional over phone and email. They were accommodating and helped solve the issues I was having. I will always recommend this place to anyone on college campuses like me and looking for a clean, temperature-controlled facility with great staff.
Kate: I understand that things have changed because of COVID-19, but the staff is not on the same page, and the hours on the website are not correct. When I reserved the unit over the phone, I was told that I would be able to pick up my things on a Sunday (the website says that they are open on Sundays). When I dropped off my things, I was told that they aren't open on Sundays, but that I could make an appointment to pick up my things on that day if I needed to. When I called back a few days later to schedule that, I was told that they are open on Sundays again. Since I'd heard several different things, I called again to double check, and the woman who answered was rude and interrupted me several times as I was explaining everything. She told me that they were closed on Sundays, I could not make an appointment, and I would have to just "figure it out". Even though the facility was nice and clean, it was way too much of a hassle for me to go back.

Pinkmimzi: I've used this storage place for the past 3 years and they have been nothing but kind, accommodating, and flexable with when I needed the space, and if I needed to upgrade or downgrade depending on my moving situations over the years. The desk staff has always been cheerful and nice. Anytime people need storage I always recommend this place since it's not too far from down town and an indoor facility with temperature control. (great for storing books)

Fortunately, nearby Climate Control Indoor Storage had an available unit for the temporary storage of our extensive collection of books, old slides, and miscellaneous personal items.We were favorably impressed with the cleanness of the facility, the comfortably controlled temperature, and apparent on-site security. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The large convenient on-site carts made the move from our SUV to the unit easy. Alan Pagliere: I had a few items in storage at Climate Control Indoor Storage for a few years while living in the area, and then a few more during a few years while I was away. During all the time before my move, I always found the employees there friendly and helpful. While I was away, any questions I had about billing or simple things like changing contact information were always easily and pleasantly handled.I've always been confident that my property was safe and protected, and it has been. I've moved back to the area again and so just today, I emptied my storage unit and closed out my "lease." Linda at the office was helpful and pleasant. It's rare to find a company that doesn't just provide the product or service you are buying, but also has very good customer service. CCIS has that.

Not too far out of the way if you only use your car every once in awhile plus it is very accessible from the bus routes. The staff are amazing, incredibly friendly, and super helpful. When I accidentally killed my battery in the middle of the winter they were there to help me jump it and I was on my way within 15 minutes! I highly recommend them.

David Dixon: In terms of prices, i don't know. This was a safe storage as far as I could tell from moving my brother out of Ann Arbor. We couldn't even pull our truck into the garage that the doors open into. It was a small facility and a little bit of a labyrinth once you got inside, but they have a lot of dollys and hand trucks to help you out. You can't pull up more than 2 moving trucks at a time though, so if it is busy season, get there early.
qi gong: Reasonable student rate, lowest I can found locally. I saved boat here in a 1-year rate. The boat got sold before the 1 year period ended and they refunded the money at the 1-year rate, not at a higher one with a short period. The owner is nice and tell you where, what and how to fish in local area. Recommended!

Edward Hyena: This is the best storage I've used in Southeastern MI. Friendly and engaged staff on site and independently owned so facility problems can be addressed rapidly, as opposed to franchises. The layout means you don't have far to go to any interior unit, with a maximum of 100 feet walk from any door to any unit, and the buildings are in fantastic shape so they will not be compromised by the elements.
Melissa Goodson: At first I got a 5x10 and it was too small. I easily upgrade to a size that fit my needs. The guys were super helpful. I store my things there for more than a year with no issues. My mom has her items stored for over 10 years. Good place with good rates.
Mike Hilts: Our organization relied on Maple Village SS for several years to store some old and valuable archives and we couldn't have been more pleased with their facility. The units were safe and secure, clean and well maintained. Same goes for the gate and access equipment. Always worked well; never an issue. The staff always courteous and helpful. Top notch in our eyes.

Kara Hewett: We stored my grandmother's furnishings in this facility for several years after we had to downsize her apartment due to a stroke and reduced space in assisted living. During COVID-19, Maple Village Storage knew and understood the current climate we are in, and even waived an occasional late fee when payment wasn't made on time.The climate controlled units were perfect! We never had any concerns of her belongings and the facility was always kept clean. The staff were very friendly and willing to help, and the email reminders of payment due were incredibly helpful as well. We will definitely use this storage facility in the future should the need arise. Thanks MVSS!

Dare Speak: I made Van rental reservation at U hall on state street Ann arbor for about 3 miles. Went to pick it up met the owner manager. I have never seen such incompetence. He ask for my driver license I gave it to him he took a picture of it. Then he ask me to take my hat and took a picture of me. It took him more than 30 minutes to give me the key he asked for my email I asked why he needed it he said to send me the receipt. I said no print me one here. . He did the receipt indicated that the van tank was 75% full when I checked it in the van it was 25% full. I went back told him about it he said he gave me the wrong keys. Then he said ok go ahead I changed it . And did not give me a receipt, when i asked for it he hesitated little before and then gave it to me. Very suspecious, and was racially profiling me. It's sickening🤬..... I finished what I needed the van for in less than 30 min and less than 3.5 miles the tank at the end register 1/8 of a tank strange!!!!!! . It took 1 gallon to bring it back to 1/4It looks like they screwed around with the fuel metter how can a small van consumes 1 gallon in less than 4 miles????A lousy business.....to say the least If you ever rent from them watch out. I gave him/them 1 star they deserve 10 times less😡👎

When i went in I was waiting because I was told it would not take very long. 2 1/2 hours later it's finally done. And I found out the reason it took so long was a guy came in to yelling at the mechanics and wouldn't move his truck so they did his repair first. That is not how appts work. Walk in should not be done before an appt. If I had known this while I was waiting I would have left and gone somewhere else

SpaceY: Had reservation, then went to pick it up. The trailer turning light won’t work. Then they get another trailer for me, but this second trailer was missing surge brake fluid reservoir cap. The guy stated that there shouldn’t be a problem with it. The last thing I want to have is for the brake fluid to spill all over the road. The fact that the guy stated that there’s no problem with missing brake fluid cap showed incompetence and doesn’t reflect well on uhaul training program.
Lori Gala: I ordered a pod to move from Michigan to Colorado and Char delivered it. She was amazing, knew what she was doing and super friendly. Absolutely recommend!!

Nick V: No showed for the moving help (booked through them) on moving day. I called to confirm everything the day before and was told I was all set and "you don't need to do anything except wait for them to arrive with your ubox at noon." When they didn't show I called to see if they were running late. There was no confirmation or booking for moving help or delivery even in the system. Eleven calls later being transferred, "disconnected" with no call back, and told to just keep calling the same number on repeat, I finally got someone who could make something happen...then she said "I can't get this to go through, sorryl." While on the phone with her, I got a notification I was charged 3x (guessing each time she tried to get it to work). After holding for awhile, she met with a manager and she then said there was nothing they could do to guarantee the confirmation and help would arrive. Also, it would take a few days to refund me.I just canceled. Avoid this place and go with someone else. Even if paying th extra, it is better than having to cancel patients, unpack your stuff to repack it, and you will be paying with time and more money due to rescheduling and "last minute" costs at a decent place that can operate a simple process. Also, you will get a text to leave a review, but of course, the link just times out. If you value your time or stress, go with a better company
Chris Goolsby: Scheduled my 15 foot truck two weeks out. Was supposed to pick it up at 9:30. Moving help coming at 10:30. Get to this place and no truck. Sat there for 30 minutes and they couldn't find me a truck. Regional U-Haul finally found a 26 foot truck 40 minutes away for a substitute. The moving helpers were great and pushed their arrival time out an hour to help me out or my move would have been ruined. U-Haul screwed me over big time. Driving a huge truck way bigger than I need and paying much more for gas. Avoid this location and U-Haul in general. What a nightmare.
Miriam Bartleson: Brandon saved our necks. We couldn’t figure out how to get into the storage unit building after hours (9:00pm) and called Brandon. He was extremely helpful and drove to the storage unit to help us get in, even though he already had left the facility. He even moved the stairs for us to access our unit. He was also kind enough to close out my account since we were moving out. Thank you so much we appreciate you!!!
Steven Copeland: Be careful renting from there, the manager of the facility will charge you for extra milage and has if you don't take photos before you drive off. He has horrible customer service. The U-Haul on State Street is better!

Jim Miller: Edit Feb 2022 -- Just stopped in. Kylie promptly did a great job helping me fill multiple tanks of propane. She worked fast & safely while explaining my options for a questionable tank. Thank you! Old Post --- This location advertises Propane for sale. I've been in three times in the past month or so and they've been 1) "computer down" and can't sell; 2) "can't take old tanks or sell a new one due to supply issues"; 3) "propane tank down" so no propane. Only reason I'm giving them two stars is because they used to be helpful.
