Ann Arbor Animal Hospital: what do users think?
Kristin Pollak: I had to bring my cat to the emergency side, we had to put him to sleep, he had cancer. They sent me a sympathy card in the mail, I found that to be very thoughtful. They made a card with his paw prints and 2 little holders with his hair in it. One of the hardest days of my life, like loosing a child. The staff is amazing and i will be switching my vet to here for my other cat. Really great place.
Leslie Fleckenstein: We love the quality of care and experience of the staff. The fact the they are open on the weekends and later in the evening than other practices in the area speaks to their compassion and service to their patients. We are extremely happy to be in their care.
Andrea Bida: They are the sweetest humans ever! I highly recommend them. I was so worried about my cats back leg and they were able to get me in quickly and were so nice and very informative!
Twisted White Chrucker: Just terrible, over priced and inept. Do not trust these hacks with your pet
Ashley Ruby: Completely took advantage of my elderly mother. Charged $1000s with zero diagnosis. Continued to say "just keep coming back." Mom took her pup to a new vet and what a world of difference. She is so happy and a diagnosis at second visit after x-rays. Would not recommend.
Kathe McPhail: Mackenzie and Dr. Barnhart were wonderful with my old cat! They listened, asked questions and tenderly examined her. She responded to their treatment and within two days was feeling much better. Thanks so much!
Barbara Gilbert: My well cat visit at the Ann Arbor Animal Hospital was great. I have a crabby not friendly cat. She usually has very bad behavior. Often requiring general anesthetic for any treatment. They gave her a check and a distemper shot with no problems. Also they gave me lots of information on the health of my cat.
Taylor Family: Vary inconvenient. Not helpful and constantly try to find a way to make $$ off you by making it hard to order prescriptions through cheaper optionsThis place has been going downhill fast. They clearly have overwhelmed people that can barely answer questions. Find a different vet asap
Roger Peterson: I had to book my dog, Loki, at Ann Arbor Animal Hospital son short notice because my prevued vet closed shopped he was due forms rabies pdateamog other shots, They wee kind enogh to get him in quickly which I appreciated. Te vet who saw him was very knowledgeable and very nice as was a the rest of the staff.
David Xe: They are very unprofessional. The tech was condensending to us. She talked about going to another place instead of giving the address and location until I asked the 3rd time. They no longer have an E.R. but they still had the emergency sign posted on their property. She seems more concerned about partying after work. I wish that can give a negative star.
Gabrielle Bowyer: I feel so fortunate to have this hospital nearby. The facility is clean, staff are amiable and knowledgeable, it's easy to get an appointment, and the drive-through pharmacy is efficient. Most everyone I've encountered has been helpful, thorough, professional, and most importantly, kind to my pet.
Catherine Boye: We started going to AAAH over a year ago and have had a great experience. Our dog, Scout, is very fearful and shy, and the entire staff is incredibly patient and accommodating. We have had many visits and all have been positive experiences. Every clinician and tech has been friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and kind. I have especially enjoyed visits where we’ve seen Dr. Critchfield, as she has taken the time to explain things thoroughly and taken a holistic view of my dog’s history to determine the best treatment option.
Sean Sullivan: Can’t recommend enough, they did a phenomenal job and saved my dogs life after he swallowed a ball and needed emergency surgery. Dr Wright did a great job keeping me up to date and explaining everything. Amanda (tech) was also very nice and helpful. They called back frequently to check up on stout. Also they were up front with prices which were reasonable.
Ally Martin: I really appreciated the care the vets have given my senior pets. It's refreshing to be given realistic options for quality of life care in a non judgemental and compassionate manner. They are so incredibly kind, considerate, & trustworthy.
Haley Vardy: Amazing vet. Went in for my cat (Angelo) who had gotten extremely sick overnight (literally). The vet was extraordinarily kind and explained everything to us.I would definitely come there again. But hopefully I won’t have to 😅
Jill Ondreyka: Absolutely awful customer service and lack of concern for my pet. I had an apt scheduled for 6:30 pm 2/13/23 for an urgent recheck for my cat who is not eating and has been having vomiting. Just two days before (2/11) I spent FOUR hours in the clinic to get my pet examined. I called at 6:22pm to let them know that I was going to be 4 minutes late. They told me they would not be able to see me. I work over an hour away and had to change my whole schedule to make this appointment and the complete disregard for my pet and lack of grace and understanding is appalling. I will not be going back to this clinic.
Mya Walker: The first suggestion given to me when I told them that my 2 year old male cat had a blockage was to put him down. Absolutely disgusting service.
Miles Jackson: Fast, friendly, and thorough. I was able to get my dog into ongoing care in less than a day and all staff were extremely friendly and professional. Would recommend.
Cheryl Moote: Dr. Critchfield is wonderful. She helped my cat “Boo” recover from a virus that caused her to become dehydrated with stomach problems. Within 24 hours after receiving an anti nausea shot and subcutaneous fluid Boo was back to her normal happy behaviors.
Alex Nosnik: Great vet! We've been coming here for years. They offer compassionate and high-quality care. The staff are kind and helpful. Thank you for offering such a great service to the community!
joe piliszko: We brought our Malibu to AAAH today for some skin irritation in a couple spots. The staff was great and got us some antibiotics to get our fur baby feeling better! Thank you AAAH! ❤️

BluePearl Pet Hospital: what do users think?
Lisa Brennan: Took my cat in because she was larthargic, she was diagnosed with diabeties and wouldn't take to any treatment. They listened to my concerns and were very caring and made me feel like we tried our best to help our cat. The vet gave us options one was a treatment which would only be temporary if it worked the other was to put her to sleep. I decided to say good bye and was able to hold my cat in my lap as they put her to sleep. I would defently recommmend them.
melissa suchon: Very pleased with the doctor’s care and staff treating us exceptionally well. I have spaced on the names but the tech, front desk staff and dr were simply lovely humans. Much obliged.
Katie Millan: We were able to get in right away, our dog was not scared and overall we were very happy with our experience.
Jerry M Denton: The staff at Blue Pearl were so helpful and caring during the hard decision to have my mother’s dog euthanized. The environment and the veterinarian were comforting and calm and it made it easier to be able to say our good-bye. Thank you so much for your support and kindness.
Emily Sulka: I went to their cardiology department for my dog with potential cardiology issues. They were super helpful accommodating us and helping us get in and out because my dog is reactive to other dogs, and explained things well. It was expensive but they were up front about the cost when I made the appointment, and cardiology is generally expensive wherever you go.
Teri Baker: After we made our appt they called us back with an even earlier appt, as we wanted to get our dog in to see the Cardiologist, Dr. G as soon as possible for testing. All the staff was so kind and professional from the front desk to Gabby, our Vet Tech. She was so good with our dog and explained everything that would happen with his testing. You could tell she truly loves animals. Dr. G came in after the rest and spent a good amount of time explaining the results and answering our questions. We couldn't have asked for an easier experience during a highly anxious time. Highly recommend!!
Bettina Hoops: We highly recommend BluePearl Pet Hospital. We took our beloved dog to the location on Packard and received excellent care at a challenging time of our pet's life. We can't thank them enough for their competence and warmth.
Sydney Large: Dr. Giese and her receptionist Lois made the worst day of my life peaceful. I had to put Mookie my 13 year old baby to rest after she tore her second ACL. The level of love, support and genuine compassion they showed me and my girl is indescribable. This is the best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. They gave me so many blessings in the last moments shared with my sweet girl. I am eternally grateful for this clinic.
Bradley Gibbs: This place is horrible. They double charge, and lie about what they can or can't do. One vet said they don't do surgery their and another vet said they are wrong that they do, do surgery there. Then they sent us to a specialist when they were able to do the surgery.
Destiny Burnworth: HAD TO PAY MY BILLS MORE THEN ONCE. THEY SAYED MY DOG WILL DIE IN 6 MONTHS. HE HAS BEEN ALIVE OVER 2 YEARS NOW.
Carla Pham: My dog Princess Leia was treated great. They likely saved her life. Staff was thorough & helpful. I appreciated their knowledge.
Pawlow: Negligence on all aspects. I could sue for the amount of absence they left on my dog. 4 hours in a cage ridiculous. Paid 900 just for them to kill him.
Paolo Barcelata: Hello I’m writing this review as my dog is in a vegetative state. Prior to this happening we were at the hospital and they said it would be fine to bring him home and give him the pill when we arrived back he was practically dead and only breathing faintly. We called back and said he was not moving they replied bring him in and basically told us to pay 4K or you’re screwed. Also when at the hospital they said he was fine but kept him in the “back” for a few hours. He also needs to take a pill at a certain time and they said they’d give him it but they never did and handed it back saying they were “busy”. Welp I’m just glad he gets to pass at home. Please try to find a good hospital prior to making an appointment! Farewell Pachi 👋
Anthony Reaves: Very compassinate staff during a terrible time. Would highly recommend.
Justin Innes: They did a really good job with my dogs euthanasia today and got us in asap, it was quick and painless no complaints
Tiffany Dudley: I took my mother here as she was panicked about an issue with her cat. She had called a half hour before our arrival and they said to bring in the cat. When we got there the desk clerk said to wait for her to check with the doctor to see if they were still taking patients. As she walked away, my mother said desperately "They just have to take him, where else will we go"? The clerk said very unkindlly and rudely "we don't have to take him" she returned to say they vet said they were not taking patients. We arrived 20 minutes after calling and there was no one there. We mentioned how unkind what she said was and she said "oh well" we waited in the parking lot as we made calls to other emergency vets, no one ever showed up. Apparently they just wanted to go home early. We ended up driving to Plymouth to get help, and it did end up being an emergency. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. They were unkind, rude, snide and uninterested in helping an animal. Shame on you.
Wanda Akeman: I called this office at 5:30 PM. They said they were opened until 9, but would be accepting patients until 7. I arrived at 6:15 and they refused to accept my pet saying they were going home early. They were rude, pompous and unkind. I had to drive to Plymouth, Michigan to have a vet see my pet.I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone to actually had an emergency.
hilary pietila: Dr. Close and team treated my anxious, 10 year old pittie for an auricular hematoma and underlying ear infection on a Saturday when our regular vet was closed. She and the staff were attentive, communicative and thorough in both their examination and treatment options. I would definitely return to BluePearl again.
Tisa Allen: Super kind, personally invested, loving and affectionate staff. And the price was very reasonable. I will take my cats back there if there is another emergency and I cannot reach my usual vet.
Amy Johnson: This was my first experience with BluePearl. I’ve been to another emergency vet in the past for my dog, but due to their ER staffing that evening, I was referred to BluePearl. I was roomed immediately and was out in an hour or less. While I was being roomed, my vet tech informed me how long my wait would be and came back a short time later to update me again. It was nice to be kept informed, as a courtesy. My visit with Dr. Palmieri was great. She listened and took time to answer all of my questions. I was given the option to get an X-ray, but was told up front what the additional cost would be. When I asked if she would recommend it, she was honest and gave me her opinion that she didn’t feel like it was needed at this time. I was told that if my dog was getting worse or I felt that he needed to be seen again the next day that I could come back within 24 hours and the consultation would be free. It’s nice they offer that, because it gave me peace of mind since I was concerned about my dog and how he’d be over the next day. Based on my experience, I will return in the future, if it’s needed. I’m surprised their Google rating isn’t higher, but both animal and human ERs can be criticized harshly, at times. I’ll recommend to others!
Elizabeth Newcomb-Fink: My regular vet couldn’t see my dog so I called Blue Pearl. They thankfully had us come in and I was very happy with the care. The staff took great care of my old guy and we were out in under three hours with the bank account not drained. Very reasonably priced for emergency care. I am so thankful they got my little dog on the mend. I hope to not use emergency care again but if I have too I will be going back

Easthaven Animal Hospital: what do users think?
Mike Emmett: I started taking my first dog here 15 years ago as it was in close proximity to my house and the doctors were attentive and fair, but it has changed drastically. From the Veterinarians not being present in the room with the animal most of the time and rather on a monitor via zoom or whatever platform they use, to taking advantage of people by charging absolutely astronomical prices, I will be taking my animals elsewhere.I just took my cat in who needed stitches on a wound he had under his leg. There was actually a doctor there this time and not a vet on a screen, imagine that! They quoted me between $1100-$1800! When I told them it was too much, they came back with a different scenario that was between $600-$900. Which I reluctantly accepted. And of course the final bill was much closer to $900 than $600 ($866). So this is my point, if I hadn't advocated for myself, they wouldn't have told me there were other options, which I feel is the definition of taking advantage of someone. They know that people will do anything for their pets and are taking advantage of that compassion and the pets misfortune! I'm sure there are many people who are traumatized by the state of their pets, if injured or sick, and don't advocate for themselves when it comes to price and they just pay whatever bill is put in front of them, whether it put them in a bad situation financially or not. They know this and take advantage of it!! I know they aren't the only clinic that does this either, most corporate clinics do because it's only about money, not the well being of their clients or pets. But there are clinics that don't as well and I will be seeking one of these out.And yes I understand that having pets and taking care of their medical bills can be expensive, but there is a difference between providing a fair service and taking advantage of people for every cent you can!I also take my pets to the Humane Society of Huron Valley clinic and don't have any of these problems there at all!! It's great there, the only issue is that they are so busy that they cannot get your pet in quickly.Anyone have any suggestions on a good Vet in Ann Arbor ?P.S. I never write reviews! I felt compelled to write this one though!
Alissa Little Kane: I’ve had a lot of veterinary experiences and this office was consistently bad. Inexperienced techs, most vets are remote. Retraumatized my dog despite me letting the staff know multiple times that he would need special care. Multiple bad experiences with different vets and techs. There are plenty of vets in town, do yourself and your pet a favor and choose a different one.
Pattie Russell: My 11 year old Shepherd was ill and they made her trip over the color rainbow special for us I want to thank you all for your compassion ❤️
Ingeborg Gaiser: Great Veterinarian Clinic with knowledgeable staff. Always able to talk to somebody if I have a question.
Jodi Hoover: The vet techs here are amazing with my dog, he absolutely loves them and they are the reason we keep coming back. I don't think my 2.5 year old dog has ever seen an actual doctor because they are remote, which is kind of annoying but the techs do a great job!
Art Ticknor: The best care
Aaron Stephens: Great staff that care about your animals big or small.
Laurel Schroeder: Easthaven has been amazing with helping me manage the wellness of my pups! Everyone we interact with is professional, extremely helpful (I'm a first-time dog person), and clearly an animal lover. They're great at navigating my drama queen pup, too!!
Artur Verdiyan: Felt not important due to video visit with doctor. Plus, "lead"assistant was wiping her hand on my puppy when liquid medicine she was giving drop on her hand... looks like russian service not USA.After discussing discribed above situation with co-owner over the phone I was satisfied and changed my rating.Hope lead assistant will understand her mistakes and will change to be best in business.
Donnie Racine: They are always great at Easthaven and take great care of my dog. Very happy with them and would not consider anyone else to take care of my dog.
Lauren M Robinson: The care is lovely but the price is extraordinary. I went in today for a regular check for my cat and asked about help cutting some mats while there hoping to get a hand while another person was available to help. I was given an estimate that involved if they had to anesthetize her. After it was decided she was docile enough to not require that, they went and cut the mats. Later I found I was charged $78 for cutting the mats and $31 for 15 minutes of nurse/tech time. Perhaps I missed it but to me this was a cost that was not explicitly presented at the time. As the estimate was for if they anesthetized her, I assumed that there wouldn't be an extra charge as they didn't have to.I realize that vets need to cover their costs but had I been told that there was a charge and one that high, I would've done it at home, particularly as I myself am an animal welfare expert. I suppose I should've expected vets to go the way of American healthcare and charge for every little thing but I doubt I can afford this vet in the future.
Louise Bedard: My little dog has been going to this practice for two years. Staff is always friendly and professional and they provide compassionate, comprehensive care. They are especially caring of her nervous and reactive behavior which I appreciate!
Lisa S.: Easthaven has such wonderful, kind, and compassionate staff. They have helped us get our hamster boys' cremations set up. We felt sad, but their kindness really helped our hearts. Thank you.
Marta Pionke: You don’t get to see the Vet in person, only on a screen. You have to order the medications through their pharmacy after downloading the app on line. Then you have to jump through the hoops of figuring out ordering through this app (complicated). If you don’t get it done in a timely manner, you have to take your pet back to be retested before getting the heart guard. If you want to order through Chewy and they give you the prescription, then YOU have to send in the prescription. Other vets, you can order through Chewy and they call your vet to confirm and boom DONE!If you speak to a receptionist she explains they have LOTS of clients so they are too busy to really care about the individual. They are too busy for MY business. Happily I will go elsewhere!!!!
Angie Cosma: My cat Connor was experiencing bloody vomit and they got me in asap. Very thorough and moderately priced compared to other hospitals. Even gave me free cans of prescription cat food to start for his pancreas. Very happy and they even did a check up call on him. Highly recommend.
MW Butler: My dogs are all rescues with some challenges, anxiety and fear during vet visits or dog reactivity. I tried multiple vets around Ann Arbor and found Easthaven to be the most accommodating for my dogs' needs. The staff are always understanding, kind, and skilled in working with dogs who have behavior challenges/past trauma.
David Talburtt: They will go the extra mile to provide expert, outstanding service. They took very good care of our cat, who had $2,200 of dental work done. I will say that our pet insurance (Nationwide) paid for $1,800 of it, which means 1) the surgery was needed, and 2) pet insurance can be a good idea. Also, our other cat is fighting cancer (and doing great), and Easthaven has been very helpful and caring in this time of trial.
Gwendia Oswald: Veterinarians and staff are very professional, compassionate and polite. I would highly recommend this veterinarian practice.
josh morris: If I could rate it 0 star I would. This place is terrible and left my 14 week old French Bulldog very shaken up and uncontrollably sick after they gave him a large amount of spray cheese and peanut butter. He was limping around all day on the leg they gave him shots on. All the owner said to me was “I guess we aren’t a good fit” holding zero accountability. All I have to say is the Veterinarian examines and diagnoses your animal through a ZOOM CALL! This is March 2023!!!! 🤡
Emily G: Loved the staff, the place was clean. I like that I don’t have to wait months for an appointment but they are not cost friendly at all.
bettina murrell: Kind, clean and efficient

Arbor Hills Animal Clinic: what do users think?
Jesus Galvez: Amazing staff, very friendly and explained everything to me so well! The knowledgeable and friendly staff took their time to ensure my cat was well cared for and comfortable through the whole experience. Was my first vet visit with my furry friend and I will be sure to entrust all of my veterinary concerns with Arbor Hills in the future!
Amanda Thorne: We are new to the clinic(less than a month). We got a puppy last minute from a family member and I called at least 20 clinics. They were the only ones who could get us in the same day(only ones who cared our puppy was almost 9 weeks with no vaccinations and it wasn't something that could wait the typical new patient waiting period for an appointment). Do seem a little pricier than others but I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". All of the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. You can definitely tell it's not just a paycheck type of job and they are passionate about what they do along with being very knowledgeable. Because of all of this we scheduled appointments for our two cats as well. The fact the staff actually care about the work they do and it shows
Barb Niemann: staff was kind and compassionate and got us in right away when we expressed concern
Amy Vereecke: Our family recently started care of our two senior cats at Arbor Hills and we are so pleased! Both vets that we have seen were so compassionate to our cats. The techs were amazing, too!
Paul Choi: Everyone from receptionist, to the vet were awesome. Everything done promptly and comfortably with the dog. Pup wasn't scared at all, which is weird because she's always timid.I had a tight schedule, they fit me in on the same day. Ran the tests fast, in and out. Even the aspiration was done pretty quickly. I thought I would be there for at least a couple of hours. Nope, in and out in 30 minutes for a questionable lump, WITH results.Best vet experience I've ever had. Highly recommend you see these awesome people if you need your dog checked out.
Will Zhang: Personally I have not had satisfactory experiences with the vet I have seen with my cats. My overall impression is that with cats the vet (one in particular) is generally not patient enough to interact with cats in a natural way while respecting cat’s boundaries. My observation is based on multiple visits with the same vet. However I have seen cat doctors elsewhere who would wait and let the cats come to them first.Again, only my own opinion. I believe they are good at what the good reviews are saying; I would seek alternatives for cat-care in this area.
Kevin robinson: Excellent clinic for my puppy. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Individual attention and addressing my concerns.
Anne Clotfelter: I was very pleased with the care provided. Dr Hershenson was wonderful and I was happy with all of the staff. I especially appreciated the fact that my appointment was moved up as well as the follow up.
ga ga: They will keep running pointless tests on your pets and will charge you an extra $30-100 for each one. Didn’t help me diagnose any of my cat’s issues when she was sick either. Google and Reddit were more helpful
Mackenzie Steele: By far the best vet experience I have ever had. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, especially Dr. Hershenson. She was quick, thorough and genuinely showed an interest in my pet’s wellness. I would definitely recommend this clinic.
Anne Cummings: Wonderful, truly caring, confident our Sarah Jane is receiving the best care possible Genuine care for Sarah's physical well-being
Marjorie Winters: All staff very kind and caring. Thorough examinations and symptom assessments as well as healthy pet visits. Sincere concern for pets, experienced vets and techs, and friendly, calm atmosphere
Rory Kwan: I appreciate the friendly staff, and they have a texting option that is really convenient and overall great to have. There is the overall feeling that the staff all truly care about their patients.
Josefina Martinez: The best clinic ever. Staff is amazing and knowledgeable. I am a long term customer with very special needs on occasions and they always will have solutions.
William Whan: Kind and caring towards our older k9 family member. Thank you!
Traverse AA: $50 to clip my dogs nails. Multiple clinics over the years, a typical charge is $10-20. This is a basic ancillary grooming element that most clinics offer as a service along with more involved costly care which is more extensive involving veterinarians. Charging like it’s a salon is exploitative and mercenary.
Rhea Rodriguez: Staff are always friendly, kind and make me feel at ease that my dog is in the best hands possible. My dog has received almost all his vaccinations from this vet, had teeth cleaning under anesthesia and regular checks. The system the vet uses to keep owners up to date with dog's vaccines has made my busy schedule so much easier. They send me timely reminders and are always quick to book me in to a time slot that suits my needs. I have nothing but praise for this vet's office and am so happy we found them! Quality of service is impeccable.
Radhika Ravi: Great personal care and attention provided for my pets' well being. They explain the symptoms, treatment, and care for us to make an informed decision. Also, they provide a quote for related costs beforehand instead of taking us by surprise!
sharon russell: Your immediate care the day Ravyn died back when you were very new, made my choice easy. Your care for Perky helped me sustain her quality of life for at least two years if not more. Your commitment to helping me figure out what's up with GusGus right now is much appreciated.
Ziyang Chen: I think the clinic is quite good. I always contact them by Message and they reply pretty quickly. They help my cat finding its heart issue very early
Christian Rourk: Arbor Hills was excellent every time we visited until we needed them most. We've been taking our dog to Arbor Hills for the past 6 months, and we always loved the staff and the vets. Our dog, about 3 years old, collapsed suddenly--we were very scared as he's never seemed to have health issues. We reached out to Arbor Hills and they managed to see him same-day. It was a relief. The price for care rendered was expensive, but it was an emergency and that was to be expected. I reached out to Arbor Hills, asking if it would be okay for me to pay in two installments--the latter after I would be next paid. To my delight, they said that was okay and that they had payment plans available as well--this was excellent to hear, especially considering we were asked to bring our dog back in less than 24 hours for a follow-up.We showed up for the follow-up to our emergency visit--worried for our dog, but grateful that Arbor Hills was so willing to work with us to get him the care he needed. It went downhill at this point:After having confirmed that payment for the previous day's emergency visit was not due immediately, we were expecting to show up, have a vet see our dog, and we would go forward with the payment plan we had discussed prior. When we let them know we'd arrived per the vet's request, Arbor Hills asked if I'd paid the prior day's invoice. Confused, I confirmed that I was texting them about having arrived at the clinic--we had already covered the payment conversation.I went in to see why they had become entirely focused on payment after having been so compassionate and helpful the previous day. I was told that I had to pay before any further care would be rendered. Monetarily, we were already very invested in this specific round of care. The funds needed to cover the full cost had not been readily available at the time. I was told that they could fill out an application for financing there in the lobby. This was very anxiety-inducing: we had been told that payment was not immediately needed earlier that same day.It was a choice between emergency healthcare for our dog whom we love and allowing a veterinary clinic to fill out a credit application for me. I chose the latter--I don't yet know if it will become a fraudulent inquiry on my credit report. I imagine the application they filled out was only a soft credit inquiry. Hopefully.I was feeling panicked, and did not want to make such decisions about money we don't have and credit we didn't agree to while in the lobby of the clinic. Our dog's appointment was supposed to have begun 15 minutes earlier, and I had only allocated 30 off of work for the appointment. I told Arbor Hills that I'd like to go home and figure out my finances as I was not expecting their reversal on our earlier agreement. This is when the owner emerged from his office. As our initial credit application had not gone through, he suggested their other financing vendor. He mentioned that it's "a consumer loan, not a credit card" to me, and tried to get the application underway. I repeated that I wasn't comfortable with this, and that I'd like to skip this follow-up visit until we could figure out payment for the previous day.In response, the man explained to me, unprompted, the idea of Theft of Service. It had become clear that I was being bullied into paying by the owner of the practice.I repeated that I wasn't expecting this, and that I wasn't ready to make potentially self-harmful financial decisions in his lobby. He responded that it had become a legal concern. Fearing for our dog's life and feeling like I had no option but to run from the clinic or pay the invoice I had been assurred was not necessary.I dipped into funds that should not have been available to escape the man accusing me of theft in his veterinary practice. Our dog was seen; he had bloodwork done and sent to a specialist. We left more scared than the previous day, when we had shown up for an emergency visit.A vet called later. Our dog is fine--we're beyond grateful. We won't be returning to Arbor Hills.

Compassionate Care Animal Hospital: what do users think?
Michaela O'Brien: Best hospital! Highly recommend if you're in the area Always fits me when my pet's need it. Doctors are incredible. We love love love Dr. Spletzer and Dr. Kemner. They truly care about your pet and do everything they can to help. The front staff is also so helpful and kind. You can tell they truly care about the patients, as well as the wonderful technicians. Fear free certified hospital also, so I always know my dog is being handled correctly. Just the best, wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!
Stephanie Starks: I’ve been going to CCAH for almost 4 years now. They are amazing. All the vets, vet techs and reception care so much for all the animals and take such good care of everyone. Highly recommend.
AD: Heartless people pretending to care.
Amy: We thought this place was incredible. Then as time went on, the service, level of care, kindness, all declined. The moment they stopped caring for my dog, was the moment I stopped caring for them.
Carter: Compassionate Care gave us and our kitty Max kind, transparent, and extremely pragmatic care through a tough emergency situation. Max has visited CCAH 4 times and stayed overnight twice across a few weeks, so we met many of the doctors and vet techs in the building and they have all been wonderful and knowledgable. We worked most often with Dr. Kemner and Dr. Forbes, both of whom spent time on the phone with me answering questions and making sure I understood what was happening, what the various results meant, and what the available options were. Dr. Forbes in particular was extremely patient and practical when we made the decision to decline a second weekend hospitalization due to the high financial cost. She helped me make a decision that was best for my kitty and my family. She continued to personally check in with me via text over the weekend to make sure we were supported until his visit on a Monday. The vet techs here are all so incredibly kind, and very upfront about logistics and costs. Beth did a great job teaching us how to administer IV fluids at home in a fun and encouraging way. When Max had to stay overnight, we got text updates and photos, and the team at CCAH would go the extra mile to make sure our kitty was as comfortable as possible, which I appreciated so very much.
Olivia: My cat was seen as a new patient by Dr. Kemner. Upon sending in a video of my cat wheezing, requested by the doctor, I received a call back from a staff member who gave me the option of my cat being treated without any additional testing or moving forward with an X-ray before treatment. I originally scheduled an appointment for an X-ray, but a couple weeks later requested to try treatment first instead. It took several days before I received a call back, and I was told from a staff member that the doctor doesn't feel comfortable prescribing any medication because my cat never received radiographic imaging at their clinic. The X-ray is required, not optional. Why give me the option to begin with? The staff themselves can be pleasant, but they have poor communication when it comes to relaying important information. It's also a shame that as a patient, you can never talk on the phone with the actual doctor. I would be a lot more understanding if I could've heard directly from the doctor the first time about treatment options (or lack thereof) because retracting your offer of treatment makes me question your integrity. It's a communication issue, not an integrity issue, but a patient who views it as the latter could then assume the X-ray is just a money grab and wonder what other lies to expect. Not exactly the compassionate experience I had hoped for.
Risa G: I am so happy with the experience that I just had at compassionate care. It was more than I realized was possible from a veterinarian. Max (my special needs anxious rescue dog) we so well taken care of and I feel an immense amount of gratitude that I found this vet. I have a dog with behavioral issues that needed emergency care. They were friendly, helpful, caring, accommodating, every other word that you could possibly imagine. They went well out of their way to help me. They were willing to stay after hours on a Friday to care for my pet. I feel like this is the veterinary care that I have been looking for for years. Every single person from the desk staff to the behavioral therapist to the doctors and everyone in between was incredible. I'm switching both my dogs here permanently. Could not recommend more highly!
J A: Dr Forbes is amazing and truley cares about animals! I always trust in Dr Forbes.
Gary Skarritt: They were great talking care of Ranger
Christine Gibler: CCAH has literally saved the lives of my 2 terminally diagnosed pets in the middle of a pandemic and vet shortage: one geriatric cancer, one FIP. Their above and beyond care (even through holidays, weekends, hospital stays, overnights, etc) has given me so much more time with my pets. And they do amazingly with my 16yr old cat who has severe vet anxiety and turns into a demon despite a large dose of gabapentin. Their fear free approach was the reason I went to them and they have done so much more for me. Thank you for all you do! Sorry for Keyser 🤣
Jenn Gavin: Fantastic practice with people who care and practice good medicine.
Amy Joy Keskitalo: When looking for an animal hospital, I’m the type of person who has exceptionally high standards because my animals are like my children. It’s a very difficult thing to put your four legged family in the care of someone other than yourself having to trust that they will do anything and everything to care for your pet. CCAH is that place. Fear free certified so the animals are treated with respect and given the emotional support they need coupled with an AAHA certification so the CCAH team is following the gold standard of care. This hospital is truly special and I can’t put into words how much they mean to me.
TheStackingNerd: Dr. Forbeez is a sweet and compassionate doctor.
Lindsey: I have been taking my dog, Lark, to compassionate care for some time now. Lark is a great dog, but she is very anxious and has some neurological issues that cause her to be reactive. Dr Forbes and her team are amazing with Lark. Prior to the pandemic, I would go in with Lark and they were so gentle and patient with her. When the pandemic hit, and they switched to curbside check in, I was initially apprehensive about her going in there by herself. But I didn’t need to be. Again, Dr Forbes and her team are continuously incredible with her. I have to carry my 50 pound dog to the back door bc if I try to bring her in on a leash, she panics and I’m worried she will hurt herself. CCAH is more than accommodating and are happy to meet me at the back door for handoff. I definitely feel comfortable leaving her with them. They have taken photos of her during her visit and shared them with me, to keep me updated. Lark is very picky about who she trusts and likes, but she loves everyone at CCAH. Over the summer, Lark and I were exposed to a bat, and I was concerned that there could have been a bite and rabies exposure. Dr. Forbes called me back so fast, and late at night as well, to help me with what to do. I know it has been hard on everyone having to drop your pet off and not be in the room with them, but in Lark’s case, I think it’s actually been better for her. She’s learned to trust the staff and not rely on me to cower behind. I obviously know all anxious dogs aren’t like lark, but CCAH is amazing for us and I recommend it to everyone who has a pet! I attached the photo they took of her in the office! Thank you Dr Forbes and everyone for all that you do for lark!
Stacey Fogarty-Brown: I have been asking since November for a follow up appointment for a new prescription diet that was started and getting my little pup spayed. Literally not a peep still. I get being under staffed, but this is now at the point I need to switch vets. I also asked for preventatives refilled last week, still heard nothing. It’s been more than 72 hours (which I was rudely reminded of needing 48-72 hours for a refill when I politely asked when it might be ready). While I think service and care were great to start, it has completely gone down hill these last few months. Front desk staff seem so annoyed when I call, I don’t seem to get any friendly voices anymore. I’ve asked around and I’m getting the same frustrations from others: lack of communication and no follow up. Also reading reviews on here, how combative some responses are is just sad. There’s no defense for my concerns at this point (I would love to see a response, since I can’t get one from anyone at clinic). Also, if others are chiming in on the same complaints, it is time to look inward about your operations.
Louise Burke: Great, wonderful Dr's and Staff.
Vanessa Aron: Anyone reading bad reviews of this practice, please keep in mind that 1) pet owners in distress are frequently overly emotional, and 2) veterinary practices are overloaded with need.I will admit that I came into my relationship with this practice skeptical and lacking trust. I've struggled to find a personal dentist or doctor who I really connect with, and I think I worry even more about my pets than I do my own health. It is a natural personality trait for me to be a skeptic. We've been coming to Compassionate Care Animal Hospital for all of our cats' generic healthcare needs for a long time and I didn't really have anything super specific to say for good or for bad.Having now gone through a cancer diagnosis with one cat, and a kidney decline with another, I can say that when the sh$t hits the fan, this veterinary practice steps UP. The care we have received is so incredibly personal and grounded and gentle.I would jump in front of a bus for these people.Treat them with kindness and care - they genuinely love what they do and they go above and beyond. Don't be afraid to trust them. They've earned it with me and they'll prove they're worthy of it.
MaKenna Powers: Absolutely fantastic. They really take the time to listen to any concerns and are always amazing with my dog. Dr. Forbes and the whole team are always attentive and helpful when it comes to providing the best care for every pet and budget.
v tertal: Caring and attentive in times of crisis.
Jordan Stevens: I've been so impressed by my experience at Compassionate Care! Yes, it's pricey but I really feel that people in the office took the time to get to know my cat - who can often be really scared and mean at the vet - and that we received individualized attention. They were able to get my cat in as an emergency and did their best to keep me updated, even when they fit him into their busy schedule. The texts and pictures of him while he stayed in their care helped me sleep at night and I could tell that he trusted them more than any other vet I've taken him to. They even got a few pets in! Unheard of before this office. Thank you all so much, I appreciate all of your hard work in a very tough job. This will be our vet as long as we're in Ann Arbor!
Brent Walker: We have brought both dogs to the clinic for about 4 years and put all our trust in Dr. Forbes for far too long. We listened to her excuses why it would take so long for her to get results back to us or even contact us without us having to follow up with the office multiple times. Putting our dog on medication but never called to discuss the rationale behind why she put him on it. ( I have never been to a doctor, been put on medication, and not been given an explanation.) Why would it be any different for our animals? The answer is it shouldn’t be, and there is no excuse to justify it.The last 6 months finally caused us to look for another clinic to take our dogs. In April, we had some follow-up testing and an ABD ultrasound that needed to be done because our dog’s liver enzymes were elevated, and they weren’t sure what the cause was. Based on the ultrasound results (which we had to follow up on several times to get those results), he should have been put on Denamarin along with the 2 medications he was placed on. Dr. Forbes never placed him on Denamarin, even though the specialist recommended it. The results were abnormal, but she insisted it was nothing to be concerned about. Again, we trusted her, and I foolishly did not read the ultrasound report. If I had, maybe the Denamarin wouldn’t have been missed, and the liver disease would not have progressed as much.Fast forward to October of this year. We brought him in for another follow-up because his liver enzymes were worse than the April results. They recommended another ultrasound. As you can imagine, we were extremely concerned and anxious to get the results back. We continually followed up, but there was always an excuse for why Dr. Forbes couldn’t speak with us. Finally, my wife requested the results so we would at least read the dictation while we waited for when it would be convenient for Dr. Forbes to get back to us. The ultrasound showed changes and a progression in his liver disease. Still, according to Dr. Forbes, “nothing was critical,” so apparently 2 weeks is an appropriate amount of time to follow up with her clients. I am sorry, but that is a completely unacceptable amount of time to wait for critical results. I have to assume we are not the only ones that wait much longer than what would be considered a reasonable amount of time. I feel for those who have also had to deal with her delays and excuses. It is frustrating that I had to write this review, but hopefully, it will allow Dr. Forbes to self-reflect on how she runs her practice and treats her clients. The constant deflection and excuses aren’t the way to go about it. Either delegate tasks, hire another doctor or don’t take on so many patients that you can’t make time for the ones you already care for. Also, as others have mentioned, not being able to go in with your animal is absurd.Cody & Penelope's Dad

Parkway Animal Clinic: what do users think?
Roger Tyras: While I am certain some folks are okay with a primarily technical/ physiological clinic to tend to their pets, I would advise caution when it comes to this location. I used this facility for my service girl twice and was done after their veterinarian had tended her the second time. The Vet told me they took rectal temps, had to shave the area they were treating, used at least one sedative and antibiotics shot, finally placing the "cone of shame" on her at the end of the procedure. What bothered me and ended our relationship was when the Vet wanted to get x-rays and do lab work because my girl was panting rapidly and heavily...My girl is afraid of anything that makes certain sounds (like that of shears/ trimmers), she had a thermometer and at least one finger in her backside, she'd been "manhandled" (the shots), knocked out, had the cone stuck on her and their was no "Daddy" to comfort her. OF COURSE SHE WAS PANTING HEAVILY!My point is this: while they may know certain animal anatomies, they know precisely squat about how and why those animals act and react they way they do.Call the Humane Society of Huron Valley. They go well above and beyond this place for treatment of animals and their owners!
Trevor Soule: Quality animal care
Caroline Bartholomew: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness
Yazmin Morales: I took my dog to Dr. Sutton for about 6 months. Everything was great and the staff were very kind to her. However, when she fell very ill and needed the most care, we were completely abandoned. We called several times, left voicemails, but not response or follow-up. Luckily, the ladies at Compassionate Care stepped in to keep her comfortable in her last few weeks. We never heard from anyone at Parkway again.
Sandra Shrimankar: Parkway animal clinic has done an outstanding job with my dog Milo. From wellness visits to a couple of emergencies. They are very trustworthy, experienced and provide excellent customer service. I would recommend them to anyone seeking care for their pets. Thanks
Davey Hampton: **Edit**After scheduling another appointment and going through the motions with their team, I felt I needed to amend my previous 1-star review to better reflect the service. The team who assisted with my kitties surgeries (Dr. Linda Fung-Rogers) was beyond amazing, and her dedication to helping animals is clearly visible in her communication to me throughout the process.I think I could boil my previous issues down to really just one person, which is why the review is now 5-stars. Sue was the one (who below) failed to follow-up and schedule an appointment after the power/internet outage that caused them to cancel my first appointment. She also failed to convey pre surgery details to me, which would have been nice to know. She also came out to the car to get information for the cats without a mask, and I had to remind her to go back and get a mask. So yea, really the only bad dog here is Sue, everyone else is beyond amazing. So if you call here, and do get the pleasure of working with Sue, just ask for someone else. Previous review left below for context.Lack of follow-up on multiple occasions, reception seems rushed an non empathetic. Was able to go to veterinary school and finish training by the time they called back. Would not recommend, bad dogs here.
Lori Van Riper: UPDATE 11/10/2020 Dr. Sutton has sold the practice to Synergy out of Saline. No longer the same care, communication, or philosophy. The new staff/vet push more pre-testing/preventative care without much discussion. We found less communication and difficult to get answers/ test results; or information in general. We are sad, but leaving this practice.Great care, consistently offer caring medical service and advice. Every staff member of the staff is dedicated to my pets. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
Bella Li: Awful. I was asked to come in at 9:45 but ended up waiting 2 hours before anything can be done and was charged for the waiting time even tho it’s due to the poor time management here. The vet looked very unprofessional and my dog was in pain. Not coming back.
Heron Bird: Friendly staff and veterinarians. Visited during covid-19 and many safe precautions were taken. Highly recommend!
Chris Gomez: 1. I had gotten a prescription for a rash in my previous visit (a couple of months ago) that cleared up the issue. I called recently to try and get the prescription refilled because the same rash came back, and they said I needed to come in again. After the consult, they confirmed it's the same rash and prescribed the same medicine, but I had to pay the $50 consult fee for something I had told them over the phone. Felt like I was getting scammed.2. Showed up at my scheduled time, let them know I was ready and they said they would be right out. I was beginning to think they had forgotten I was there because I waited 20 minutes in my car before someone came out and talked to me. Person that came out was very professional and sweet.3. When they called me for payment, they charged me for an extra medication I had already told them I had, so now they needed to refund me. Not really an issue, but this payment thing seems to be recurring since during my last visit they were going to overcharge me for some medication they weren't supposed to.
Sarah Cubis: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueAll of the employees are professional, caring and loving! They go above and beyond. They always do what’s best for the pet!
Lettah ElfQuest: About 2yrs ago my cat become very ill. Without having seen her before Parkway got ahold of her old records and saw her within 24hrs. The next day I had a possible cancer issue and specialists already set up through the office for my furry baby. My cat unfortunately didn't make another 2 weeks, but the speed, care, and kindness from both Dr.s and staff from Parkway floored me. Especially since I had walked in out of nowhere. Now I currently take my other furry baby to Parkway and have never had any issues.
mohamad mufid: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,ValueThis place is literally a joke stay away!!! they don’t know what they are doing we have been waiting for over 2 weeks for test and when I call they can’t find his file after I paid 500 dollars for a test I will never come back here they are highway robbery and a scam I don’t know how they even have good reviews they are horrible
Bre P: I have a leopard gecko and she developed a sore on her mouth so I took her to parkway and I am so happy I did . when I first made an appointment they could only get me in a week later but when I called back to see if there were any cancellations they were able to get me in a day later . When I Arrived arrivedI only had to wait 5 minutes before I was able to go in. And my gecko was able to be treated .
jeff hunter: We really love the folks at Parkway Animal Clinic. They show so much care and love for our pet every time we bring her in. They often go above and beyond as well. For example, we recently refilled our pet's pain medication and transitioned to an online pharmacy. Knowing that we were at the end of the current supply, Parkway stayed open a few minutes after hours and waited for us to pick up a small batch to get us through until the online meds arrived.
Alice Stanulis: We've been taking animals to Dr. Sutton and her wonderful staff for over 20 years. I simply cannot say enough good things about their compassion, knowledge, professionalism, and care. They always put the pet's wellbeing first, from routine visits to helping you through decisions at the end of life. Their love of animals comes through in all they do. And, while it's not the primary consideration, their prices are more than fair, and Dr. Sutton will always work to find an economical solution when possible.
Erica Rabban: Dr. Sutton, Debby, and Sunny are absolute earth angels. After adopting two kittens unknowingly with ringworm, the shelter was practically unresponsive. We were so lucky that parkway animal clinic is our primary vet, as they helped us constantly with unwavering patience and a wealth of knowledge and information. They treated our fur babies like family members while understanding realistic human limitations (i.e. they would never ask you to do 15 xrays just to 'double check' something). We drive across town passing several other clinics just to see them, I cannot praise this facility enough.
Emily Roat: I am involved in animal rescue and vet bills can be extremely expensive. Even the local humane society vet had a 3 week wait! I called this place randomly, and the quoted price was less than half the other 5 I called. There was an appointment available the next day, I was seen quickly and there were no surprise fees. My favorite vet so far and they have certainly earned me as a client! Its not flashy, big, or decorative - but who cares about that? The staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the prices were affordable.
Megan Taylor: I really liked Dr Sutton. I was recommended this place upon moving to Ann Arbor and when my dog had bad allergies, she offered me lots of advice and gave me fair prices on his medicine. She answered my many questions and seemed really knowledge and honest about the things we talked about. Then when my dog got fleas and I wasn't able to bring him in due to my work schedule, she was willing to email me and explain all my options and what I should do. I'm really grateful I found this place, I totally trust the doctor and the staff is really nice. The office is clean and immaculate.
Rhonda Mercer: Wonderful Doc and great staff
Rich Chang: Honest care and they truly are concerned about your pet's well being and are not primarily focused on making money

Uptown Veterinary Clinic: what do users think?
KT McBride: We've been taking our dog, Koda, to Uptown for about a year and a half now and have never had a bad experience. They are so kind and thoughtful when it comes to our boy and treat him so well. The service is comprehensive and the vets do a great job answering questions. If you're looking for a new vet I'd definitely recommend them!
Sonia Gill: The best veterinarians ever!
megan degeer: Amazing clinic!! It was our first time there and everyone I interacted with was so friendly, including Dr. Hui who was super gentle and caring with my guinea pig. I’m very very pleased with this clinic and clinic staff. Very reasonable pricing as well, honestly the best pricing I have ever seen from an exotic vet!
Nicholas Cook: Dr. Weinrick and Dr. Hui and their whole staff are wonderful. My wife and took our dog and cat here for years and we absolutely love them. They’ve always made time to talk things through with us, and fit us in when chronic illnesses presented. I had most interactions with Dr. Weinrick, especially the hard ones, and she made the world of difference. They really care here, and they don’t make you feel badly when you don’t understand or when you are trying to process information. I am admittedly somebody that analyzed things over and over and they always handled my questions and concerns wonderfully. I have referred other families here, and will continue to do so! When I have a pet again, I will be back - and I very much look forward to that day. Thank you for everything.
Rafael Figueroa: Epic 😎
Norma Martinez: We love this place. Dr. Weinrick is fabulous, she is so patient with me and takes time to answer my questions. We take our dog and cat there and they take such great care of them. The staff are also wonderful and friendly.
Jamie Bixler: Awesome team! I use this veterinary clinic for my dog and they are kind, knowledgeable and my dog loves visiting. Facility is clean and scheduling is very easy. Thank you, Uptown Vet!
Jude Boudon: Been taking Duke here for 2 years & everyone is always so lovely. They’ve treated both him & me very well. Prices are the most reasonable I’ve found in the area. Referred some friends & they love Uptown Vet just as much as I do. You’ll be in good hands!
Maria Sauter: I took my guinea pig here and found out he had a kidney stone. We couldn't afford the surgery, so antibiotics were given to him for the pain. He passed away peacefully a week later (he was also at his maximum age for his breed) but I am forever grateful for the service this vet provided. They still send birthday emails to me. I guess they didn't know he passed in January of 2019.
Elaina Sims: Uptown Vet Clinic (previously City Pets) has provided wonderful care for my cats. They also are responsive, and take the time to explain our care options. We love our local vet clinic!
Samantha Keller: We love Uptown Vet! Great for kitties and rabbits. We've unfortunately had to see the emergency vet a few times in the past couple years, and everyone in our regular office was very helpful and supportive when we called for advice, needed follow-up care, or needed condolences. They do a great job explaining care options and always make sure to call and check-in after care.
Angela Cicatelli: I always feel good about taking my cat here. The staff is always lovely and you can tell they all really love animals. Dr. Hui is always so kind and patient with my shy little man
Edwin Escabillas: Great place if you're looking for a vet.
Kendra Hartmann: I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. The entire staff is so friendly & welcoming. We have a large dog who would rather be anywhere else than here & puts up a serious fight, but they’re so accommodating, helpful, & patient. From the call the day before, to the entire visit, to the follow up call - they’ve always been knowledgeable & caring. I would highly recommend anyone coming here!
lindsey stallsmith: My cat is a patient here and I have been nothing but pleased with the staff and service! The staff and doctor are so kind and treated my cat great! Highly recommend this place!
Megan Schlaefflin: We have been coming here for a few months now and it is honestly the best vet we have been to. They are so kind, understanding, and helpful especially with our dog who has had many health issues recently. Highly recommend!
Mikhail Wise: Great experience! I am posting on my fiance's account because we both felt we received excellent care, and we wanted to respond to Shawn Hall, who greatly upsets me, as I am someone that used to work at different vet.Shawn Hall was upset because they unfortunately could not accommodate a 15 minute + late appointment, probably because most appointments are 30 minutes long, and just like at a human doctor you cannot receive an appropriate and thorough check up in half the time. They even offered to try to get him in at 4pm, as per his comment it seems, which to me is amazing! Most vet's would not be able to accommodate the same day for a client that misses an appointment by being 15+ min late!I also would like to remind everyone- as someone who has worked at vets and had clients be too late due to fecal samples- fecal samples can be dropped off any time appointments are for vaccines and doctor or technician care. I am sorry this client chose to be late so as not to have to drive back, but I am sure this vet (nor really any vet) requires you sit there while they send out a fecal sample. Fecal samples do not require an appointment.I just wanted to voice my support for this office and express my horror at the poor treatment they received, even though it sounds like they gave in and tried to make the client happy by in the end supplying them the appointment within 5 minutes of their arrival, per the angry comment! Then they said they were nice to the staff who they said "don't want to work" but that seems very cruel and nasty to me, not to mention very untrue in my experience, and if they are willing to go that extra mile.In summary, I commend this veterinary office on their excellent customer service to even see a client and find a way to work them in the schedule (probably rushing through or saving any duty that could wait and to accommodate the upset client and not make any other clients late), and their devotion to client care, and I am so saddened they received such nastiness as a result.I have worked at previous vets, but never this vet, and I believe they were far more than accommodating, and found a way to squeeze in a truly difficult and unsatisfiable client at a time when policy dictates as too late. I always strive to be sure, as a client, that I arrive in a timely manner so the vet will have the time to give my pet the full examination, as they must. I would never expect them to make alternate allowances to do so, just as I would hope they would never keep me waiting for long periods (and they don't!) They value their client's time, and would not make every client of the day wait 15-20 minutes to receive care, and I respect that, and I congratulate them further that they found something else to sacrifice (probably a lunch or something similar) to accommodate a client that was in need, if clearly rude.So please keep all of this in mind if you read such a horrible review that is clearly without merit. This client choses to leave for the appointment, knowing they would arrive after more than half the appointment had passed, despite the veterinary office telling them they simply could not accommodate them at this time, the client being late because of something that was completely unnecessary for the appointment (a fecal sample that could be dropped off at any time, before or later), and the veterinary office offering to reschedule, even later that day, which the person was horribly offended by, and the veterinary office still saw the pet (who surely needed more than a vaccine and a fecal if the cost was $400, and more likely needed a complete check up with many vaccines!)Kudos to this vet office for being too classy to say all this, but I worked at another vet previously, and this comment to a great practice upsets me. This client clearly treated the staff horrible and they acted in a very upsetting manner. That is why I want to make sure to counteract their comment by explaining what probably happened, although employees and the business are probably too classy to say so.
Sandy Klocinski: Great experience! I was impressed, especially with how great they are with nervous dogs (fear-free seems to be an important principle)! Very impressed!I worked at a vet previously for several years, and had lovely experiences with our previous vet too, but it was time to move on, and a friend recommended I take my dogs to City Pets and it went so well, especially with our nervous dog, who didn't even need to be restrained or anything despite his nervous nature! My fiance and I were both able to bring in our dogs, both rescue dogs considered a "scary" breed or mix of "scary" breeds; our female just on the verge of technically being senior, and our male a rescue we adopted 9 months ago, of about 3 years of age. Our girl loves people but expects to be treated as a princess, and our boy is still fearful of new people, perhaps because he thinks he is a puppy, but others see a large black colored more scary looking dog.Dr. Hui and the tech were both great, especially Dr. Hui! Our girl is usually very outgoing and will do ANYTHING for a treat, and doesn't object to anything really (except she'll demand at you if you take too long giving her her treat!) but our boy is much more skittish. The way Dr. Hui entered and interacted, within a minute our boy was going up to her while she examined my girl (without seeming to!) and wanting to get in on the action. It was very odd to see, as he doesn't usually want attention or to be part of stranger interactions! This is one reason I say they are clearly very skilled at being fear free. Neither dog knew they were getting an exam at any point, and our girl was so outspoken, she started just giving the vet her paw or whining as apparently in her mind the vet was doing a training session and should be giving a treat quicker. The vet was very sweet about this, and I don't even know how she managed to do our boy's exam without him catching wind, but weirdly he was happy to be part of the interaction after he was jealous of his sister. Even though I would have expected him to want tobe scaredy and stop at some point and come to us to hide, not only did he go over to the vet of his own accord, he didn't want to stop the interaction at any point either. When it was time for vaccines, the vet asked us in depth how the dogs would be most comfortable, and offered medication if it would help them. I thought they would both be okay, but offered to hold (having worked at a vet and done this before) and she said this was not necessary unless I wanted to as she felt with these dogs they would not be bothered, and asked that I give something and distract for my girl, who then literally didn't even notice that a vaccine was being given. So much so that I kept wondering when the vet was going to give it, but she had finished! She said we might as well use the oral vaccine (available for some vaccinations only) for my boy, and they had a neat trick where he was licking some peanut butter and then they squirted the vaccine in his mouth without him noticing really. I know my dogs, and I could tell he was grossed out for a second perhaps, but did not feel like we had done anything scary or pulled something over on him by any means. He just thought it tasted gross for some reason after her started licking. The dogs left happy and in good spirits, as did we, and I think they will both be even happier next time to see their friend, the vet, whose job in their mind is to give treats. Isn't that the dream for your dogs idea of the vet? I believe they will associate treats and meeting a treat-people with this vet- not anything scary. The vets listened to our issues that we brought up and advised us well and they even called to ask us how the pups were doing!A good experience, for us and for the pups! I feel issues we brought up were addressed, and if we have an issues in the future, they will be addressed I feel, and in addition our dogs felt like they were seeing a trainer (treat-person) and not a vet, and neither dog was afraid at any point. And our girl's issues for leash reactive were taken seriously.
Autumn Dunivant: My rabbit stopped eating his hay and wasn't being as chaotic as usual which really worried me. He ended up needing his molars trimmed and now he's back to regular bunny business. I definitely recommend! Also it was very reasonably priced.
Clare Del-Rio: Just wanted the world to know the woman at City Pets Veterinary Clinic in Ann Arbor is awful.I called saying I've called 15 places for my 8 week congested hedgehog, she offered me an appointment for 2 hours from the time I called and I work 2 hours from Ann Arbor. When I told her I was worried and I can't do that she said"Well you're not too worried if you can't bring her."Then they acknowledged my post online but didn't even apologize.I hope you write this person up and fix this, I'd never take my pet to someone who can't even show empathy.
Coyne Bailey Gatto: Dr. Hui is one of the sweetest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. As a rat owner, I am at the vet quite often and frequently for more dire reasons, and she is always so kind and makes the experience much more bearable. All of the staff is extremely nice as well and I always feel at least a little better because of them when I'm in. Pricing is very reasonable and the building is always very clean and inviting when I'm there. Would definitely recommend to other exotic pet owners!

All Creatures Animal Clinic: what do users think?
Maddison Evelyn: I wish I could give them 10 stars. I'm really glad I found All Creatures after calling over 15 vet clinics about getting a kitten neuter. Not only is their neuter price 2.5-3x less than the other 2 vet clinics I use; the staff is also very thorough, knowledgeable and professional. As well as friendly. As someone who works with animals, specializes in cats & is in frequent contact with many vet clinics, I can truly say that AC goes above and beyond. Their exotic animal prices are even substantially less than what I pay elsewhere. Upon contacting every vet clinic in Ann Arbor/Ypsi for a very specific service for certain breeds, all of the clinics either weren't familiar with what I was talking about or wasn't able to help me. AC already knew what I was requesting and went out of their way to help me and was willing to fulfill my request. 100% recommend. Thank you, All Creatures!
Katelyn Green: All creatures animal clinic is such an amazing place for exotics! I took my leopard gecko ( Yoshi) here in concerns on his sight, I was greeted with kind staff. Being brought back for my Yoshi I was meet with an already warm heating pad and his name written on a white board! The staff was very thorough with Yoshi and that day we were able to get some medicine and even got scheduled for a follow up. At the follow up appointment we check to see improvements and Yoshi made a full recovery. If I have any issues this is the first place I will drive to for my geckos.
dana baker: Seriously one of the best vets especially if you have Exotics!! My Veiled chameleon recently had something happen to him and when I called to make an appointment they instantly knew who he was when I said his name. They truly take the time to get to know you and your animals and provide them with the best care possible. Hands down one of the only vets I trust with leaving my animals with for the day. Reasonable prices and everything. I'm so happy I was recommended All Creatures Animal Clinic 💗
Kateryna Benson: The veterinarians are the best. The rest of the stuff is friendly and helpful too. They saved my rabbit. If you have a rabbit, Dr Alexander and Dr Zacher are the best in town. Rabbits consider to be exotic animals and not every veterinarian can perform a successful oral surgery on a rabbit. But these 2 wonderful ladies can. And not just that. Forever thankful to them!
April Mongefranco: At the front entrance there is a high step so it makes it almost impossible for a wheelchair user to get in the building. Adjustments have to be made in order to keep this client.
Jier Yin: Cancelled my appointment without justifiable reasons and banned me from calling them. I was just defending my rights to schedule a test again, because the first test failed ONLY because they did not tell me in advance that doing test right after the vaccination would result in a fail test. It was the vet’s responsibility to tell me, but they failed to acknowledge that. No responsibility, no respect, and no patience at all. DO NOT COME HERE
Andrea Paslick: I love the staff here. They are very good with my cats! I love how the Doctors are conservative about medication unless really needed.
Heidi Netherton: My spouse always takes our animals to the vet while I'm at work, but I schedule the appointments. They are always kind and incredibly helpful. I even called crying when my pet rabbit passed and they helped walk me through my options. They also sent a card later on which was so sweet! They know how to work with rabbits which is a huge plus for me. Really appreciate this vet!
Jacob Hull: These people are incredible! One of the very few doctors that actually take our Sugar Gliders. It's hard to find places that handle gliders. Every time I've been there to take our boys in we have a great experience as do the boys, and the staff treats you and your babies like family! Highly suggested for any creature as long as they handle that creature. Also the staff is very knowledgeable and will let you know what's happening every step of the way. Love these guys!
William Jarrell: Very nice people help me twice with my Sophie
Stephanie Murray: They did a very good job with my baby boys grooming. A suggestion for future services. I am very pleased with their services.
Chris O'Harris: Great staff! Friendly and Knowledgeable!!
Roger Barber: I've taken my bearded dragon here several times now. They've always been very polite and have tried their best to work around my schedule, as well as sending me home with great advice for care and being extremely responsive to his needs. I appreciate the fact they have a holding tank with good husbandry while they were waiting to see him, and that I was able to drop him off and pick him up later in the day.The doctors and staff here have been incredibly helpful and the cost has always been very reasonable and transparent. I was really worried about finding a reliable exotic vet but they've really been lifesaver (literally).
Lo Pov: very nice staff and for my cats appointment they had a welcome sign with his name on it with his own water and treats
Don Dixon: Took my daughter's 2 year old rabbit to be fixed about 3 months ago. This vet noticed something during our visit that I didn't get to ask about yet versus another vet at a different place that I explained what was wrong and looking for a diagnosis to which the other vet did not know. I highly recommend this vet All Creatures Animal Clinic. Excellent service. Very knowledgeable, friendly caring place.
Lynn Metz: Hands down the best vet. I cannot recommend them enough. We moved away from Ann Arbor for four years and did not realize how spoiled we were here. When we moved back we were honestly most excited about getting them back as our vet.The genuine love for animals radiates from every staff member. Dr. Alexander and Dr. Zechar are phenomenal. They both make sure all of your questions are answered and things are explained in a way that is easy to understand. You never feel rushed or like you are taking too much time (even when you are asking a million questions!). They are incredibly thorough and also make sure your pet feels comfortable. One of our pups is very shy and they always make sure to get down on the ground and let her warm up to them before proceeding. Same goes for their techs and groomer! As a result she actually likes going to the vet! In addition to great care, they are also very reasonably priced. We recently have had an ongoing issue with one of our dogs. Everyone has been fantastic in helping us. We never wait on the phone for more than a ring or two and everyone is always very understanding with our repeated calls and questions. They are always kind and understanding. Dr. Alexander has even called us unprompted to check in and see how he is doing. When we have had to see specialists they have been great about sending records over ahead of time etc.If you need a vet. This is the one. They are amazing!
Stanley Riley: Dr. Alexander is very thoughtful and thorough. Her honesty and thoughtfulness is what everyone needs in a veterinarian.
Kelly Jarzynski: I have been taking my dog here for 9 years! truly the best!
Marissa Beste: This is a delayed review, but that just goes to show you how much their kindness has stayed in my mind through the years. I brought my pet rat here to be euthanized a handful of years ago, and they were just the absolute kindest people. So gentle with me and her, thorough and sensitive. When I had to put my second pet rat down, it was more urgent and I had to go to a local vet. They handled the process horribly, and I left in tears not even because of the loss of my pet, but because they truly could not have cared less and they showed it. Such a stark contrast in compassion and care, and their kindness needs to be recognized!
rachelle wilson: My dog had his first diarrhea episode in the 5 years I have been his guardian. This resulted in 5 nights of having to take him out about every 2 hours. I want to thank the staff who were so kind and patient with my many phone calls as the days went on and my mental state deteriorated due to lack of sleep. This is a wonderful practice and unlike some, everyone from the staff that answer the phones, to the techs and the Vets, everyone is outstanding!
Kat Le Croix: 10/10 Recommended!!!Don’t judge a book by its cover…The office is a bit smaller and can be a little interesting to get to but it’s well worth it!I have dogs and reptiles and they do fantastic with both!!I had concerns about my bearded dragons health and for a VERY reasonable sum gave him a good, thorough checkup which resulted in a clean bill of health! When my senior foster-failure had breathing issues they couldn’t get her in that day but gave me great recommendations to get her checked out ASAP! I made a follow up a with them and let them know she can very nervous and can get nippy in a vet setting. They were very open and caring about her, they even took the time to let her walk around an extra lap for sniffs and to get her bearings. After the appointment usually my dog is all about running out that door and comes out looking nervous…not this time! Her tail was wagging, she had a bounce to her step - she was a happy, chill doggo! This never happens after a vet visit! They listened to each concern I had and addressed each one, answering any and all questions I had. The staff and veterinarians alike were all very pleasant, patient, and friendly! The cost is fair but very affordable and if you say you have a budget you have to work with they will still do the best for your furry family member!

Brookeside Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?
Zora Westwalewicz: We have has the pleasure of bringing all three of our dogs to this clinic. They offer several options for treatments and keep the animal's quality of life in mind for every decision. My family is so thankful they do house calls; both dogs we've put down were comfortable at home with us during their last moments. I could not recommend this facility enough
Angie Peralta: Took my two male cats here to get neutered through the Kat Snips program. The doctor was very friendly and offered nail clipping as well. One week later and the cats are doing great. The only thing I would say is they did not send the male cats home with cones and also didn’t give basically any after care instructions, which as a fur mom, gave me a lot of anxiety and I was kind of confused. After talking with a vet friend she let me know that with male cats they just need to be monitored for excessive licking for the next few days so I felt better.Over all it was a good expierence with friendly staff, I just wish they gave more after care instructions if they do not give cones for cats, just for ease of mind!
I27T I84: Robin is kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Rozyczko is excellent with my kitten, and I cannot recommend Brookside enough.
Joe K: Been using this place for over 30 years. Always happy with the staff and doctors. Moved out to Milford and still driving the 20 miles to this facility.
Helen Lee-Hesse: Pricey but good experience.
Calvin Tuttle-Horn: They have taken wonderful care of two of my cats during their neutering appointments!
Ameel Mirza: Been going here since 2017. Amazing staff! Always a pleasure going in. Would definitely recommend
NK: When we moved here, we took our dog to Brookside for vaccines and boarding. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating however the facilities were outdated and this place traumatized our dog to the point where her personality was drastically different afterwards. Our dog lost her voice, got kennel cough, and had 2 bloody spots when we picked her up. When we called to check in on her they said everything was going great but I guess that wasn't true. They also mixed her food bowl with all the other dogs and we didn't get it back when we left. It was immensely difficult to re-socialize our dog and help her not be afraid after her experience. Hopefully this experience isn't typical but we will never come here again.
Rita Garcia: I'm assuming hes the main vet and hes very very nice but the older female vet whoever she is probably should retire.
T Rex: A lot better then Affordable Vet Services. I just get a funny vibe out of the place. I don't like it. Brookeside Vet Hospital is a lot more professional and personable
Elliot McConnell: Great vet office. People are very nice, facilities are clean, and they take good care of our cat.
Mary Henning: Bookside has been our Veterinary and Bording choice since moving to Ann Arbor more than 30 years ago. Their services from puppy to old age years and end of life has always been compassionate. The needs of the animal have been presented realistically, while respecting the emotions attached to the relationship with our animal companions. I have trusted the guidance of Dr. Smaltz and Dr. R, as well as the associates who have come through the practice over the years. My current dog was found abandoned. He has some challenging reactions to care giving, but they have won his trust and given him excellent care.
Annamarie Conley: We take our dog here for both grooming and vet issues. We have been very pleased with both.
Kyle Tingstad: Critical:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,ValueINCOMPETENT!! They should have never sent my dog home, she should have been sent straight to the ER. Instead, they sent her home with a bottle of antibiotics!! She died the next morning, after we took her to the ER vet. If I could give negative stars I would. NEVER BRING YOUR PET HERE
Karissa Pelletier: I really wanted to like this place. We are new in the area and I thought the positive reviews were good. We will not be back. I brought my Akita and Corgi in for boosters and a nail clip. Get home and go to take out my corgi and there’s blood all over her paw, the seat, her leash, etc. Bring her back and then clean it up and put numbing cream on it to stop the bleeding. No bandage. When I asked what happened, I was told she was wiggly. What the hell kind of answer is that? I’ve never had an issue in all the places I’ve brought her for nail clippings. All I got after coming back was attitude and lame excuses. Had to ask for a refund and received it but with a lot of huffy attitude. Very disappointed. Oh and the vet is the one who clipped her nails. Or so I was told…. Do better.
Ralph Viau: DON'T bring your rabbit here! They may do ok with dogs and cats, but other than changing her litter box,the greens I gave them to give to her once a day were basicly untouched.Overfed with her regular food and underfed with her hay.Receptionist was nice and made a list of her care when I dropped her off...someone must have thrown it away.Curt at Dog gone acres in Farmington takes in rabbits (few do),He's more expensive, but they get much better care.Dog gone acres are closed every year last week of September through first week of October,or I wouldn't be writing this.
Nicole FliGirl21: Friendly compassionate and help me.thru every step of my dogs process of letting him pass. It is hard to see your pet go and having a vet help with everything. They were great thank you
marsha postel: Positive:QualityActually They are all the good things one can select. My cat loves his doctor, They are very reliable, They really listen to what pet owners have to say. Just cant say enough good about them.
Laurie Ramsay: One of the best vets I've been to. Very kind & compassionate.
Raissa Carvalho-Ruehle: Do not board your animals there. Just don't. I boarded my birds for the weekend and they were kept in dirt, no one changed the bedding, the food bowls were gross, they never chopped the fruits as they said they would, water was disgusting, cages were disgusting and one of them came back with a BROKEN foot! I had to take to an emergency hospital.
Karen Basile: Friendly staff, nice vets

Washtenaw Veterinary Hospital: what do users think?
Rod Joves: Update as of May 2, 2023:My past two experiences with them were both positive, giving me a huge relief in dealing with my dog's Giardia issue. Their swift and immediate responses and availability from the first time I called in down to the last part of the regiment for my dog were nothing but exemplary. I am so thankful for their sincere care to my dog and great service. I am so glad I came back. Kudos to Dr Butman, Dr Eberly and the rest of the staff. Thank you so much+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I have a 5-month old Pure bred Golden Ret and just like all Golden Ret, Bear loves to munch on everything resulting to an upset stomach almost every two weeks. Our first urgent care visit was GREAT! from the Operator where they took us for scheduling to our actual visit. From handing over my pup to the tech, to the doc’s call for an update-plan of approach-assessment down to the hand over back to me. That first urgent visit was SO SMOOTH. I am SO GRATEFUL for the care and accommodations, really. It was an ASSURING and PEACEFUL experience for us.Now to the most RECENT experience. As I said above, my pup eats everything just like all Golden Ret so he ended up having another episode of upset stomach this past three days. Good thing we still have some of his medication from our first visit. So after a full 24-hrs of medication the next day he got fixed. Realizing the need to get it refilled. I called the clinic this morning and spoke with the same operator who helped us many times before. She took in my request and was told she’ll call me after. After waiting for 5 hours and still not hearing back from her I decided to call again. Same person answered my call and I was surprised with the way she handled my call. It was like we never spoked this morning she even asked me if this was my first time to call in about my dog. Completely bummed out I just went with the flow. I asked her politely (again) if it is okay to get a refill or We need to make a vet visit. She just responded I’ll put in the request and we’ll call you. Just like that. Monotonous and just like talking to a robot. Not sure why or she is having that day but….Update: 05/09 1755HRSA response was posted to my earlier comment and was advised harmful. Additionally, was told to speak with the vet direct if I have questions. Unfortunately that is way too late. Also, if that option was given at the time I would absolutely take it. But no it wasn’t as that is their gate check process. Having to wait for the said “we will call you” was a simple commitment and yet hold weight to the receiving party, especially in a service oriented industry. I’m not demanding it to be asap but at least to be given a pragmatic sensical response as to when, and not to be left hanging, just like every one expect. So yes, that one star is warranted for that specific instance.Suggestion - perhaps be mindful of what to say/commit to your clients to avoid such incident. Wouldn’t hurt to do it
P & E Wiethe: Dr. Eberly and staff have been treating our dogs with the utmost care and professionalism for several years. The clinic is by far the cleanest (and prettiest) I’ve ever seen. My husband and I highly recommend them and have been referring our friends and family to them for many years. ♥️🐾
Nancy Abou Hassan: These people are amazing. Dr Butman is amazing, she gave me her time, listened carefully to all my concerns, answered all my questions and provided me with the appropriate solutions. She went above and beyond.
Jason Czarny: They are always quick and great with our dog! Very knowledgeable staff!
Kathryn Mathey: We've taken our dogs to Dr. Butman for the past 10 years and she and her team have always gone above and beyond providing excellent care. We have a great deal of trust and confidence in her expertise and we're grateful that our dogs have such a thorough, patient, and loving vet. Thank you, Dr. Butman and WVH!
Richard J: We started taking our dog here after multiple recommendations. Dr Butman was outstanding. Glad we decided to come here.
William Sherd: I have had pets and animals all my life, I have never met, or had a better vet than Dr Eberly.!!! She is always responsive to my dogs needs and never fails to understand, and educate herself on older pets. If you’re looking for a new vet, I highly recommend going here.
Charley Karpiuk: Family trusted. Period.
S Pintero: Dr. Pawlik has been wonderful to work with. She has done an amazing job of diagnosing my older cat Lyle and getting him back to much better health. She is targeted in the tests she recommends and clearly covers treatment options to help support an informed decision. Very happy with the care we are receiving! Thank you!
Michelle Bice: No experience. They couldn't help
Colleen P: I called to get my dog in who injured his hind leg. They made me go online and fill out a ton of paperwork then submit previous vet records. DAYS go by and NO ONE contacts me, then I call and they just say “we aren’t taking new patients”! A TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR TIME! Disorganized and not concerned about your pet if you aren’t already a patient!
Ann Kovacs: We have been coming here for 15 yrs with our dogs. Love Dr. Eberly and staff
Alice Calder: Kindest staff. Everyone is so invested in the health of your pet.
Patrick Allen: Great people!
Jenny Barnes: Kind, compassionate and professional describes everyone I have encountered here. Dr Pawlik is wonderful!
skylor smith: Despite their advertising as A hospital they are not. They are regular clinic and would not see us.
Jeffrey Root: Best vet around!
Hanley Lake Hideaway: Dr. Eberly and her staff go so far above and beyond for our dysfunctional pets! They treat both our dog and cats with confidence and care and are available at a moment’s notice in a crisis. So impressed and pleased to have found them some 10 years ago.
Phil Lutz: This is the best vet I have ever been too. They have excellent customer service and everyone is friendly. I really feel Dr. Butler treats our Boston's as if they are her own. She explains everything better than any other vet I have been too. Do yourself an your pets a favor and visit this Veterinary Office!
Mark Waluzak: Everyone there is top-shelf , Raya is my dog , she's a service dog , she loves all the lady's there , she loves her vet Dr. Butler.I think she's the greatest.I would recommend this veterinary hospital.
Lynn: Yesterday I received a call that the Fecal I dropped off Saturday morning was no longer able to be tested because it was left out over the weekend and is no longer good…..I purposely dropped it off Saturday because me and my husband both work long hours all week. This is now the second time this has happened at this vet in the last 3 months. Making it an extreme hassle to drop off another in time for his testing to be done correctly. What’s even worse, I think her name was Peyton… was saying a condescending sorry over and over as if this company doesn’t understand how not reliable and frustrating this is. I’m going to be taking my animals else where with a more reliable staff.
