Kaitlin Darnell: Incredible historic landmark. There’s a little free museum upstairs that goes into the history of tile making and pottery in Detroit. The shop downstairs has a beautiful selection from many different artists with a good range of prices to accommodate any budget. We found some small tiles starting at $5 that made for a nice souvenir. I’m so glad we had time to drop in. I highly recommend a visit.

beat shona: Great historic tile and earthware factory and shop. They produce top notch custom tiles on site. We really enjoyed the excellent tour of the factory which gave great insights into the creation of the tiles.
Elle Elsie: Was wonderful in the 80’s and 90’s. Now it’s too commercialized, too big and a dime a dozen. No longer anything quaint and unique. Mary Stratton must be turning over in her grave. Prices are ridiculous for mass produced clay pottery. No longer a place for everybody to go….only the very rich elites. Pass this place up, it’s a waste of time.
Patrick Brannan: We love the wonderful pottery, especially the many Detroit and Michigan themed tiles to use as accent pieces in our backsplash.
Plum Health DPC: A staple of Detroit, it’s history and culture. If you’re in town and want to visit a beautiful building and store, or day dream about renovating your fireplace or bathroom, stop in to Pewabic - you will be delighted!
