Krystle Constantine: My kids and I stopped in on the way to a doctors appointment and we are so happy we found TJs Shanghai Dumplings. We ordered the wontons, dumplings, noodles and the scallion pancake. We ended up chatting with the owner and he was so kind to my kids and I. Everything was so delicious! We ended up having leftovers and ended up eating more in the car before we got to the appointment! We can’t wait to go back!

Patrick McDonald: Updated: still amazing, beef noodles are decent! Lotta bochoy, TON of soup for what you pay. Like I couldn't use a regular bowl. Wontons are amazing too.Wow, this was a phenomenal meal. Some of the best dumplings I've had in a while, hands down. Same thing with the spring rolls, super crunchy! The pancake was gas too so crunchy. And it was served super hot which was excellent too. Crab rabgoon texture was a bit firmer than I would have liked, like it needed less cream cheese or that the cream cheese cooked too long, still delicious. Will definitely be going back soon, highly recommended if you want quality dumplings.
Alyssa G: They have the best dumplings. It’s so hard to find veggie dumplings without tofu and these are the best.
Alicia Degroat: I don’t even write reviews but when I tell you this place is so delicious! First time here and I just ordered the green onion pancake and wonton soup — definitely the best I’ve had in the area!! Not to mention the guy who helped me was so kind. I will definitely be back
Mary Chapman: Best Chinese dumplings in the region. And don’t miss the scallion pancake
K Xiong: Best dumplings in metro Detroit area
Chase Cantrell: This place was delicious and affordable, and the owners were very warm and welcoming. Having seen the recommendations for the pork dumplings, I decided to give them a try as well as a spring roll (the combo). Definitely not disappointed. I will be adding TJ's to my regular rotation.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Joseph Baumann: Fantastic food - made by fantastic owners.I called ahead and ordered half the menu, when I arrive I added a spring roll. While waiting for this to cook I got to know the owners. While he has the restaurant for fun at this point, he puts a lot of energy into it. He expressed gratitude for calling in advance and letting them know when I'd be there to pick it up.
Jai Baby: The shrimp and Pork dumplings are amazing. I literally just left from up here. I stay about 8 mins away and worth it 💖😭Recommended dishes Pork Dumplings …More

The serving size was perfect, and the sauce was just the right compliment. Service is great - the gentleman who prepared my order was very friendly. I will definitely be back and can't wait to try other items on the menu.

The Peterboro: what do users think?
Matthew Dante: My first time to The Peterboro in Detroit’s now defunct Chinatown. Take a walk to the bathroom and you’ll see a hallway decorated with some of Detroit’s Chinatown past. Great touch! I had the pork dumplings and the chow fun noodles with beef. They were both great dishes. The dumplings came with a yummy umami sauce and the beef in the chow fun was so tender. Sarah was our server and she was spot on. Very attentive and friendly. I can wait to try the other dishes and experience more fine service.
Jessica Ellem: Service was great, mocktails were delicious. Really liked the mushroom dumplings and the ambience was nice. Only knocking a star because the thing I ordered didn’t have a spicy indicator when it definitely was, and I thought it was a bit pricy for my dish considering most of it was bean sprouts. Would have liked more noodles.
Jake Daniels: With out warning we were approached by the owner and his security guard, we were told that we left the building for a moment with drinks, and that we had to leave, they through our drinks away very aggressively and gave us a bill, over charged us. We were with our wife’s so we didn’t make a big deal about it. Paid the bill and won’t go back!! The man came out of the kitchen wanting to fight or something🤣🤣 him and the guard wanting some wild energy, not cool bro…
Molli B. Dunbar: Love this place, the cheeseburger egg roll is my favorite and the happy hour specials are top notch.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sabrina Brooks-Jordan: The food was amazing. This was my first time there on Mother's Day with my daughter.Kid-friendliness: Several kids were there.
Natasha Al-Rafie: We had to make a reservation and put down a $60 deposit to get the reservation. I’ve visited actual places in real cities and I have never had to do this. Anyway you get it back if you show up or cancel your reservation an hour or more before. The food was okay, they had the Detroit special Almond chicken, which was good but not great. Flavorful but not as textured as you want. We also got loads of dumplings. They were good, shrimp, pork, the shrimp were great but not so much the pork. I found them to be tasty but not worth the price. I also got Shrimp fried rice, which was bland but loaded with shrimp which was nice. They also had topo Chico, a nice liquor selection, and some beers. Overall it was a good enough experience but not a go to for sure.
J. Dubs: We were here to meet some friends for drinks and apps. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the decor is a nice tribute to the neighborhood of the past. I just wished the spring rolls I received weren't greasy, over fried, and too expensive.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Smriti Wadhwa: I went there with my friends and we were amazing by the vibe and the food here. I believe they have a limited menu now and the food is an experience in itself. The chicken dumplings were my favorite. I plan on coming here again with my friends and trying out the cocktails as well next time.
Marcella Salib: Empty crab rsgoons slow service
Luke Starkiller: Tasty fried rice. Nice atmosphere.
Marcy Swenson: Fantastic craft cocktails & Chinese comfort food. The Kale Salad with crispy noodles is a standout. Will be back!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
emily cardillo: Dined here tonight with some friends, the food was excellent and the service was even better. Such a fun experience, wish we lived closer but it’s worth the drive. The cocktails are outstanding. We ordered a bunch of different things for the table and everyone dined family style, I don’t think there was anything sub par. so glad to see a Detroit business come back even stronger after Covid.Kid-friendliness: We had kids with us and it was totally cool. They loved the decor and cool drink glassesParking: Parking is easy
Sai Sruthi Venkataramanan: Service was good. Nice staff. Food was bad. It used to be great before it closed down recently.Got the mushroom dumpling. Something in it was too sour. Beef chow fun made vegan - bland fake Chinese food. Like something a novice home cook whipped up In a rush. Please guys step up your game. The decor is great, it used to be a nice place. It's just bad now. Someone please fix it.Vegetarian options: Vegan options
Fatoumata Cissoko-Willis: A unique atmosphere full of vibrant colors, Asian inspired decore with an industrial modern feel. We enjoyed our appetizers and especially the main dishes! It was nice to share our orders among each other and get a greater dining g experience 🙂Parking: Lot next to the restaurantWheelchair accessibility: There are no elevations or stairs from street to the entry door. Wheelchair accessible for sure.
Kaylajoy Murawski: So sad we have to give them 1 star. We loved them prior to 2020 closure. Our kids would beg to come down. We came tonight to support reopening. We sadly were so incredibly disappointed. We had the Shishido peppers, and the pork dumplings. Both were bland. That’s not said lightly because we honestly were so excited to come down. My husband asked me Seldan or Peter. I said Peter all day…..( us women hate being wrong) lol not sure we’d be back for the food but the service was good & the drinks were made well.(We ended up at Seldan)
Orlando Dickson (FinaleNinja): Cheeseburger Rolls and Bao Bun Tacos. Perfection. Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Detroit Al: The food was absolutely great; especially the shrimp & scallop dumplings.Don't forget to have a drink.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Tim What: A fun place to get real good Chinese food and great craft cocktails.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Carey C: My husband and I made an unplanned stop at this bar while we were on a spontaneous bar crawl in the midtown area. It turns out that this place used to be China Town.I enjoyed the ambiance and the decoration of the place.Since I didn't know what to order, the bartender, Levi, asked me about my preferences and I mentioned that I like gin. He made me his preferred gin cocktail, which included grapefruit juice, honey, and was both refreshing and delicious. I particularly appreciated that he peeled the grapefruit rind fresh and rubbed it on the stem of my glass, which left a fresh grapefruit scent on my hand/fingers after finishing my drink. We also ordered the crispy eggplant appetizer, which was very tasty. The menu prices seemed reasonable, and they were lower than those of trendy bars where drinks cost around $12. Additionally, the most expensive dish on the menu was priced at $18.Usually, I avoid Chinese food because I have a sensitivity to MSG, and most restaurants that claim to not use it or remove it end up being dishonest. However, Levi assured me that they don't use MSG here, so my husband and I will definitely return to this place!
Yolanda Clay: Nice atmosphere. Very very limited menu, but the fried rice was good.Parking: Parking is on the side. You will miss it. But look out for Sign and they do have a security guard there.Recommended dishes Shrimp Fried Rice Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Kay M: Just a heads up the menu is different from before the new food wasn’t the best I miss the old Peterboro :(

Alexander Martin: Went in for lunch. Had dim sum. Damn was it good. And my server was amazing. Attentive and very sweet. Love the atmosphere. Cozy and carried a real vibe. My new favorite spot in Detroit.
QWEEN: Shangri La has a great atmosphere, delicious food and great service. The interior is well decorated and I love the second floor balcony overlooking the bar. The restaurant has good sake and amazing sushi. The desert options are very unique. My favorite is the fried cheesecake roll. The dish is a delicious mixture of European and Oriental cuisine. The restaurant is located in the heart of Midtown Detroit near Wayne State University.
Justin Chuang: I can only speak for the Dim-sum but my god WAS IT DELICIOUS!!! My taste buds have high expectations as I'm originally from California and this hit the spot. Will def. come back again . One of the best dim sum's I've had !!!
Bridget Huff: A favorite! The sushi and service never disappoint and it isn't a day at the DIA without dinner at Shangri-La afterward.Dietary restrictions: One of the only sushi places that has always accomodated my shrimp allergy and kept me safe.
Sofía Syntaxx: Shangri-La is such a cornerstone of my college experience core memory set that it is impossible for me to write about it with any sense of objectivity - you have been warned!I just love this restaurant. Great for solo dining, couples, and even the occasional group outing - although if you have a large party, it might be worth calling ahead to give them a heads up.Excellent drink selection and delicious dim sum.
Dharini Chhajed: Nice dumplings

Before we could fully finish our appetizers, the food was soon on the way right after. Very large portion size which we loved. My wife loved everything but I wasn’t too happy with the home made noodles and fact that I wasn’t given enough chicken but more vegetables than anything

Kelly Fair: Can't say enough how good this place is. It's going on the must-visit list every time I travel through so I can try more of the menu. The bao buns and bacon rice are must haves. Kathleen Gunther: Amazing food, nicest staff, & coolest place!
Hilary Braley: Going to go back to try more. The bao were delicious. I tried the red curry ramen and found it a bit of an unusual flavor combination, so I'd like to try something else next time, but no complaints about how it was cooked; just not my thing, I think.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Bao Buns …More

Josh Jensen: This is my favorite restaurant ever. Too bad I live in another state. I have had a lot of really good ramen (granted, not in Japan, yet), but this is the only place that really makes me want to slow down and enjoy it haha. If you're within 30 mins of this place and don't go here once a week, you don't deserve Johnny.I miss you, seafood ramen

I'm obsessed with the jelly sake.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and Vegan choicesDietary restrictions: Super accommodating to my food allergy
Quashawna Wilson: Only been to this restaurant 3 times. However each time I visited my experience was worst. My very first experience here was amazing which is why I kept trying to come back. I ordered the exact same thing on every visit yet it was different each time. Never the same. I wanted to show my boyfriend this restaurant I cane across but my second time here my waiter was extremely rude and I Got a completely different meal than originally ordered. My third time which will definitely be the last, I once again did not get what I ordered and they brung me my noodles in a dirty bowl that smelled like dirty dish water. Service has just went completely down in a span of a few months. Will just find another noodle place.
Mikala Bart: This place is great, definitely recommend going out of your way to visit!! I was in the area and had a couple gift cards, figured I'd give it a try. My mom and I shared the Pork Boa Buns and got the Tonkotsu Ramen and Red Curry Ramen. All three dishes were delish, very flavorful! We went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday, so we were seated right away; the entire staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was clean. It's a really cool and fun vibe. What a perfect find, I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes!

Kasey Kohn: Went for dinner before a USFL game. We found a spot in their parking lot, and we're seated in a booth as soon as we arrived. The waiter was outstanding. Very personable. Drinks were great. Tried the strawberry lychee and makku passion fruit, both were great. For starters we tried the lobster Rangoon, karaage chicken, and torched mackerel. Mackerel presentation was fun. Torched at the table. Flavor was a bit fishy even with lemon juice, but was fine with soy and Wasabi. Chicken was tasty. I liked the Rangoon but others found it fishy.Unfortunately, none of us liked our noodles. Yakisoba was pretty flat, not dry, but no flavor. Needed salt for sure. Same issue with chicken Ramen. Not seasoned. Tasted like basic broth of bones in water without seasoning. Rich in fatty texture, but no flavor. The red curry was ok, the pork belly was cooked until totally dried out. The egg and crispy onions were tasty, but as a complete dish lacked on flavor. I don't know where they get their noodles, but we didn't find them to be great quality.Obviously, we are the exception to other people's experiences. Although reading other reviews I noticed people gave 4 and 5 stars while similarly criticizing the food and saying they didn't like it.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options availableParking: Surface parking at the location.
David Lee: The wait time was a little long, but the food was absolutely worth it, pricing and quality. Noodle and broth were outstanding, the meat that came with the noodle were quality stuff, large shrimp and complete pieces of pork belly. This is an example of Detroit’s revival, a gem of restaurants that opened in the beat up section of the city.Edit: revisited after 5 years. Noodle was amazing as I remembered, incredible store had maintained it food quality, I think this is a staple of Detroit for ramen.
Matthew Lopez: Surpringly impressed by the torched mackerel starter. So good in fact it immediately became my favorite dish here. Great service and quick turnaround!Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Mackerel …More

May Wah Inn Chinese Cuisine: what do users think?
Roger Andrew: Now closed and replaced by Janpath (indian) restaurentI will miss the excellent Hot and Sour soup. The Beef and Ginger and General Tao were as good as the best anywhere. Generous dishes guarentee a second meal later.
Dennis Faas: I was very, very sad to see this restaurant is no longer in business. Google says "temporarily closed". I don't know if they're moving, but we went there (to the west end of Windsor) and it's now an Indian restaurant. I sure hope they come back. They had the very best dim sum in Windsor and the staff was friendly, though I haven't been in quite some time due to covid. Coincidentally we went to Shin Shin down the street and it's been taken over by new owners and is horrendously bad - and I'm not the only one to notice.
Alice Lok: My family ordered dim sum here several times and it was recommended to go there. However, each time we go, we get more disappointed in their food. It is no longer good and too much msg. Might as well buy from frozen and heated up ourselves. Stopped going due to this, we even tried their dinner one time to give it another chance. Sadly it just wasn't as good as it was. Unless you really crave dim sum and don't want to cook yourself then I guess you can give it a try. But definitely not recommended.
Kim Deane: Change your website and google ad if you are closed Monday. Hours are also not consistent with sign on door.
Tiffany Field: Tried to order meat dumping as listed on the menu and, owner said they don't have.Herd they were good here, pretty disappointed in the communication.
lilian wu: 刚刚看到这个店铺要转让的消息,是要关门了吗?
Brian Nguyen: I've been going here since I was 4 years old and it's remained as consistent as ever as far as great Chinese food goes.My most recent order of some fried noodles, fried shrimp rice and some random dim sum dishes for pick up was a pleasure. Ordering was quick and easy and the one item I could not find on the menu was clarified no problem.Food comes out hot and fresh. I dearly missed the cart style dim sum here (rare now due to COVID) but the take home orders were 1 to 1 fantastic. Best lotus sticky rice and chicken feet in the city. Dumplings here are huuuge and so tasty. Fried rice portions are also massive and as long as you ask for no soy, you can get it without the flat salty flavor most average places in Windsor do.The service when in room dining is available is fine. You'll get your tea refilled and utensils when you need them but when things get busier it's easy to get lost in the shuffle.I love this restaurant dearly as an after church stop from my childhood and it's remained a favourite even as I get older!
Colleen Cameron: Best Chinese food ever.
Tommy Kay: Quality of dim sum greatly declined
Bruce: No combo meals?!?!?!?!
Bob Dorey: Dim sum is always good, service not so much.
Nasim Hasan: An authentic Chinese restaurant
Louise Lalande: Was so yummy, great food
John Roffelsen: Always a pleasure and the food is excellent.
Jesse Bonk: My favourite place to go for Dim Sum whenever I am visiting Windsor.
Sarah Weber: Their dim sum is always so good!
Rich B: I didn't dine in , take out service , so review based solely on food . It was awesome , authentic cuisine , ordered spicy shrimp which was decent size and I would have preferred more hot then not , egg noodles with beef which was very filling and usually hard to fill up on Chinese food and not feel hungry few hours later .
Kelsea Molzan: Delicious!Great food at a great price ☺️
yvonne Becker: Excellent meal. Beef and ginger on a sizzling platter and general tao chicken. We brought home half of each meal.
Monique Cornelio: Came here for lunch as a treat from our aunt that we were visiting, as we're from out of town. Food tasted good, though tasted no better or at least indistinguishable from other dim sum restaurants in Mississauga. The rice with chicken was a bit on the dry side and lacked flavour, especially in the rice. Har kau could use some fresh herbs (like chives or something garlicky) since the taste was lackluster and no different from the steamed shrimp dishes other than the soy sauce that's added. Sesame balls were delicious. The wait was absolutely terrible! We were made to wait for one and a half hours to be seated at a table when they finally opened up tables at the back. Definitely do not come here hungry! The table setting is an absolute travesty as we were not given chopsticks. This ruins the experience of eating dim sum (for me at least, who's Filipino and knows how to use chopsticks). As to why we didn't bother to ask for chopsticks it leads to my next point - naggy waitress and understaffed. We had asked at least three times when our food would come which led to our waitress snapping at us, then complaining that she's making deliveries to other tables. This waitress (as far from what we could see) was the only waitress servicing six other tables at the back and front of the restaurant. We try to be understanding but not when you're as hangry as we were. We were the only group that did not have chopsticks, as far as I know preferential treatment was given to another table who was seated after us, but was serviced first because they were returning customers and were friends with the waitress.I would not come back to this restaurant again until significant improvements are made.
Esther Jung: Dim sum is amazing here! Tried many different dim sum restaurants in Toronto which we miss a lot but this place as good as some of the good ones in Toronto! Ingredients were super fresh and customer service was great too. One star off because we had to wait an hour to receive our orders… hopefully next time won’t take this long. Will def come back 👍👍

christina nguyen: i ate the steamed dumplings and they are super good. cant wait to come back and try the pan fried !
meghana suresha: Best authentic momos one can find in Detroit!! Their pan fried and deep fried momos are my all time favorite. They give different dips for the momos which are mouthwatering. I would recommend getting green and red chutneys. This is the place if you are a foodie and you love momos(dumplings).Located inside Detroit Shipping Company. You can either take to go or just grab a table and enjoy your momos with live music and a drink from Nextdoor bar.

subhrata sundaray: I have tried the Steamed dumplings/momos from “Momo Cha” which I found the most tasty momo I have had so far in Michigan. I would highly recommend this place if you are a foodie and you love momos(dumplings).Recommended dishes Deep Fried Dumplings, Vegetable Dumplings, Chicken Dumplings Vegan Dumplings Pan Fried, Pork Dumplings, Deep Fried and Steamed Momos …More
Bishal Bogati: Best Momo in the Detroit Metropolitan Area.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ajay Krishen: We have been regular customers at Shipping Co. since its inception. Momos were the main reason. Previously, Momo Cha’s MOMOs compared very well with the ones in India (Himachal, Darjeeling, Kalimpong & Assam). This time, the chicken filling was noticeably subpar. Apparently, they are not made on site any more but at a centralized location. Hopefully they will bring quality preparatory process back to this location. This was very disappointing.
Phil E: I tried the pan fried chicken dumplings tonight and they were excellent! The tomato cilantro and mint cilantro sauces both tasted great with the dumplings. Check this place out!!
RAJAT JAIS: We ordered fries chat and momos. Chicken momos was served with green and white chutney. Momos was good in taste but chutney was not to the expectations. Veggie momos was also not so good. We also ordered panned and fried momos but stemmed one was best. And I forgot to mention, fries chat was something different and tasty. Don’t expect the regular red hot chutney we get with momos at other restaurants .The place was crowded and the blowers keep blowing air over the head which was little uncomfortable.
Ma H: Good dumplings. The chicken they use in the curry is consistently a mess. A chewy quartered chickenbreast. Their foods otherwise are good, but the cooks must be vegetarians
Joe Z: excellent veggie samosa. the veggie dumplings were OK. probably should try them deep fried. the red and green chutney were also satisfying
J Garcia: The momo was average. The butter chicken was delicious. The spot reminds me of a market place. It has indoor/outdoor patio bar.-seating as well. Parking is ten dollars. I got lucky and found a loading spot and parked for 20min.
Kashyap Sigdel: Review from a Nepali here - I can confirm they do a good job with their momos.
Jesse Scott: Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. This shiz be bussin’ bussin’, no cap. The makhani, on my mama, be outta this world. MoMos? More like FoShos[give me 100,000 of them].
Marcus Reed: Had one of everything! Would have one of everything again.
Ryan Pakula: We really wanted it to be better but..... nope. We got dumplings and they were fine, but that's it. The space it's in is super cool so there's that.
Vignesh Kumar Sudalaimuthu: Takeout: YesMore
Karrah Avocoedo: The dumplings with cilantro sauce are phenomenal!
Suman Raj Gaihre: Momo were great.
Luna Khanal: My best place to go in Midtown Detroit to eat Nepali momo and Nepali food.

Pvt. lunchbox: So cool thing is they have a large verity of drinks to choose from. The orange chicken was super delicious and plentiful. I revived white rice with my order. The crab Rangoon were good as well. The store is dine out only. Only bad part is they are cash only. Kinda sus but it’s close to the plant and open late so I’m going to eat.
Juan Craig: Excellent pepper steak! Meat was tender and flavorful.
Vickie Johnson: If I could I would give it no stars. I ordered pepper steak and it was gray like it was under cooked or had been sitting. It's hard to find excellent Chinese food right now
Rameses 187x: Excellent food... Only problem is that it's cash only! Call ahead is preferred, gets pretty busy.

Lou S: So disappointing. I should have heeded the sign on the wall that says they don't accept refunds on food that tastes bad and left before I paid for my order. I remember reading it, it was posted on the wall behind the cash register and chuckled thinking it was for those awful humans among us who will eat a whole plate of food then say they didn't like it afterwards in hopes of getting a free meal, but now the sign makes complete sense. They serve up and sell so much literal garbage at this place, they have to put a sign on the wall that discourages a customer from complaining about how absolutely awful the food tastes and feels in your mouth. Take warning folks. I ordered the Sesame Chicken which is usually a safe bet at most places and threw it out after two bites. It had the most bizarre texture--like stringy sawdust. What ever the state after "dried out" is, this was it. And the sauce was so cloyingly sweet it was as though in place of sesame sauce, they tossed the chicken in melted jolly ranchers. Not a hint of sesame or salt could be detected. It was promptly slam dunked into the garbage can, and I was back on the prowl for some edible food.
