JL Hill: Selected this hotel because it was close to the church I was visiting for a relative's funeral. I opted for proximity over comfort. Friendly staff but hotel appears to have been remodeled but with outdated furniture.(??) Very spacious rooms and bathroom. However the furniture had several spots and stains were on the walls and floors. I was awakened by a glaring fire alarm during the night. After frantically gathering all of my things and running downstairs, another guest advised there was no fire. Pipes had burst in a guest room. The next morning the alarm went off again. Very nerve wrecking experience. No explanation or apology were provided by front desk staff. Hotel does not have a speaker or intercom system to advise guests of emergencies/status of alarm, etc. I highly recommend IHG invest in that for all properties. Not the ideal accommodations but will suffice in a pinch.

If you're looking for a hotel to crash in after spending the day exploring, this is a great option. Was very affordable to us.We couldn't hear our hotel neighbors, which was good! You could hear some road noise, or emergency vehicles going by. The in room HVAC didn't cover the outside noise. In room HVAC did work, so we were able to set the room to the temp we needed.We didn't check out the pool or hot tubs.Free breakfast was good! Also on tap free coffee in the lobby was a big plus!We didn't interact with staff much, but when we did they were nice!

Kaylee Anderson: I honestly don’t know how ANYONE could have made the bed and NOT noticed how dirty the sheets and comforter were. There was literally child size foot prints on the sheets. When I went to let the desk know they handed me clean bedding and I had to change it all out myself!

Asia Wallace: If 0 stars was an option I would go lower than that. First and foremost, having to put down a $200 deposit is ludicrous. I have stayed in better with no deposit or at the most $50. They said that the room is clean, the lie detector determined...THAT WAS A LIE! No Blankes for the pull out couche, the hall way smelled like Jimmy John onions. "We hold that high of a deposit because of damages."The whole room was damaged.Let's not talk about the guest that we're checked in. I am a loyal IHG rewards member and I have wonderful experiences when traveling,this place by far has to be on of the worst I've ever stayed in. My last say here was in 2020, That stay wasn't as bad but it was ran by other people at that time.

Kahuna Howard “Kahuna” Howard: This is a great building and has great morning breakfast. Had friend in from out of town and they were very very very happy with the services and the HOT morning breakfast. The other thing that they did not like was that the room doors slam shut. The doors banging so loud that it sounded like someone was slamming their own front door to their house in anger. YES THAT LOUD ! ! ! But the rooms and the building was cleaning and bright.

Evelyn Young: When I was checking in, CSA (Mo) was very unprofessional & rude. I observed him do several customers mistreats, including me, while Manager Logan stood there & didn't say anything. Customer service was called & was advised that Manager Logan would call within 15 minutes. Manager Logan did not call.Also, when a guest checks in, this IHG takes a $200 hold per stay. Additionally, tap & pay isn't an option when checking in or out.Finally, the room wasn't completely & properly cleaned. The towels & pillowcases were stained. The hand soap & body wash bottles were empty.
Daniel Hoard: I travel for business, so I have stayed at this hotel for months. Overall, the rooms are great. The staff is hit or miss. recently, I left a piece of equipment behind by accident, as I was letting it dry. I know this is my fault for leaving it behind, but I did contact the hotel immediately, but it somehow disappeared completely. So someone either stole it, or threw it away. I was never able to talk to a manager about this, because they never seemed to be available. I contacted them multiple times to try and resolve this issue, but never got a call back from a manager. I even stayed an additional week to maybe try smooth over the situation.That week was horrible. I was up all night because of other loud patrons. multiple nights. I tried calling the front desk 5 times one night, and 4 times the next with no answer. Checking out in the mornings is somewhat annoying as well. I know it's very early, but the young lady never turns off her music, or shows she's watching while checking me out. I don't care one bit what you do, but please at least pause it while interacting with a customer checking out.I still have to stay in the area to work for another 6 months to a year, and it definitely won't be here.
Niya Delbridge: My powers went out at night on February 22 2023 I call to ask the price the guy said $169.40 I said ok on my way I get there it was two guys working there he kept looking at me I said you remember me he said yeah from yesterday he went on saying that the room that someone had was so mess up and I told him i didn't get no room my kids father son threw his lil son that was turning 4 my kids was invited because that there brother kids my kids are 18 16 and 12 they also had lil kids there to so then the guy tell me it's a 200.00 deposit so $169.40 plus a $200.00 deposit is $369.40 so why he charge my card $453.05 and I still haven't got my $200 back but he can't do math it was water everywhere and we couldn't get no big towel when we got out the pool and today is Monday I'm still waiting on someone to still call about my money and the price they charge me

Mohammad Assrayem: Their dealings were very bad, their prices were exorbitant, and their services were not good. When I came, they told me about the cost of 149. When I entered the room, they brought me a paper that they had raised the price of the room under the pretext that it was yesterday together that we had agreed on the price of the room in advance. I almost can't believe it.

Carolina Torres: I booked a reservation fir this hotel for the wrong date by mistake, cancelled 5 minutes later and rebooked for the right date, they still charged me for the cancelled date, I called 4 times asking for the cancellation email, which typically goes out automatically and they refused to send it to me. I have been trying to claim this through insurance and their staff always says they cannot send me the invoice.DO NOT USE IHG hotels, this is not the first time they over charge me for a stay!!!

S E: Comfortable stay in hotel. Hotel has a very safe and good location, 20 minutes from Downtown Detroit.The room was comfortable and spacious with two queen beds. The room was not dry, hotel rooms are usually so very dry, so this was a first for us. Very happy to enjoy the Dove brand products in the bathroom. Rooms however need a little extra maintenance and cleaning.Breakfast had a good selection of food. Breakfast was great with many options and the gentleman that was managing the dining room was present and kept things in order. Camisha Brown: This Holiday Inn Express was simple great!I gave it a five starts for everything truly. The staff was very nice and professional. The breakfast was really good and honestly the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel stay. Location was right off the highway numerous food places around in walking distance was a huge bonus.Doors lock after a certain time so not anyone can just enter the hotel at night. (room key card needed to gain access back) was pretty nice feature for safety.Hotel was clean, room was spacious and clean, walls were a bit thin and could hear other families in their rooms but nothing too drastic. Tal: Clean hotel. Check-in was made super easy and fast by Billy. And check-out was just as fast (I didn’t catch the young womans name sorry!). Only thing was our room wasn’t clean each morning. I was there for 3 nights. My last day the cleaning lady knocked on my door, but I was about to head out so she said she’d come back in an hour as I requested. I was out all day and when I arrived back at my hotel my room was like cleaned or fresh sheets or towels were not provided. However the gentlemen at the front desk that night was very quick and nice to give me new sheets and towels when I asked. Overall, no issues. Area has plenty of food joints, gas station and close to the highway.

Joel Carter: This was a very nice hotel. The breakfast was solid with multiple fruits to choose from. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the workout room smells like mold. It was tough to run in there, but also 10 degrees outside, so pick your poison. It needs a deep clean and an air purifier.

Brittany Katoe: I came here with my family on (02/23/23 & planned to stay until 2/25/23) due to our power being out at our house from the storm. We checked in around 3:30 pm & then the power went out a little before 7pm at this hotel. There was no communication from staff regarding what was going on, no emergency lights, no generator, just pitch black & freezing. We were on the fourth floor with a 10 month old baby & had to keep going up & down the stairs (using our phones as flashlights) to ask if they heard if DTE had any updates about when the power would be back on & ask for extra blankets. The staff never checked on us or offered anything, we had to literally ask for extra blankets because it was freezing in our room. There were people struggling to make it down the stairs due to having wheel chairs & oxygen tanks. My 14 year old daughter tripped & almost fell down the stairs in the dark. We constantly got the run around from staff each time we inquired about the power & ended up staying the whole night (hoping the power would return) since we couldn't go home anyways. We checked out early the next morning (before 6 am) so we could get at least some of our money back (according to the staff that was at the front desk that morning). The phones are still not working & we have not been refunded as of yet and today is 2/28/23. We had to go to another hotel because this one could not provide basic necessities for their paying customers. I know the hotel staff can not control power outages but their communication & hospitality skills are lacking. If I would have knew that they had no generator, I would have never booked here. For now on, I will ask if the hotel has back up power or a generator before booking.
Chris: All of the flights were canceled and the hotel was packed with people trying to check in, and apparently all the managers left one woman to handle everything by herself, which was a disaster. I don’t blame the woman at the front desk but the managers should probably not have those jobs.
Samantha Mitchell: The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. We got a double queen suite. There was the option to adjoin the rooms, but we only got one room. We were part of a wedding party that had reserved a block of rooms that had also arranged a shuttle to and from the wedding and reception venue. The shuttle was convenient. The fire alarm tripped at about 2:45 am. We evacuated, and the front desk staff overnight were professional and acted in the best interest of the guests. The fire department was prompt in arriving and sweeping the building. The room did look like it has been used heavily, but most repairs had been made. I did like the refillable soap option and light up mirror in the bathroom.

helen harris: Please beware. DO NOT DISREGARD THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! I did and I regret it. This place is dirty and infested with bed bugs. The local staff is full of excuses and the hotel group has done nothing to make the situation right for me personally or in general apparently. I truly hope no one else experiences what I did.

Can get expensive depending on the time of year.Breakfast service in 24 grille can get exceptionally slow sometimes. With close to empty restaurant, the breakfast took 55 minutes to come the first time I went there. The next day it was quick and with good service.Rooms: Very clean rooms, quiet rooms.Nearby activities: A lot of places and things to explore nearby. Lots of restaurants and pubs.Walkability: A lot of activities available at walking distance.
Paris Mitchell: Hotel Indigo has some of the finer appointments one would expect in a higher end hotel without the same level of attention to detail and service- it's nice, but not overtly opulent. I, however, don't believe I am the intended demographic as it feels like more of an "influencer" kind of place. It attempts to be a very trendy, modern sophisticated hotel while hosting the ability to provide a great view. The value for the price is absolutely on par. The room includes a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig for convenience and the 24Grille is located on the lobby floor. This wouldn't be my suggestion for a staycation however if you're traveling into Detroit and want to stay at a place offering a glimpse of Detroit's resurgence- this may be it. The rooms are spacious and the bed is quite comfortable.Takeaway- if you're an old money traditional traveler, the Westin is across the street.If you're a young couple/group of friends/ planning to party in the city this is probably more suited to your taste.The customer service is inconsistent, it's either extremely accommodating or completely void. My standards, however, maybe a tad bit more stringent than the average traveller.To note-some of the issues I've encountered here were, the ice machine on the 5th floor not working, and my room door being opened several times without notice because it was listed as vacant- major issue really. Also, I'm in the King Suite and on the website it's depicted having a table and chairs, however I mine did not- the space is very large which is nice, but feels underutilized.I wouldn't suggest spending more than a weekend here as after one day it completely loses its charm.

So, don't plan to get breakfast in the morning or drinks at night there unless you're lucky.
