Tammany Hanna: Recommended:The atmosphere of the place comes across as shabby and dingy, but the food and customer service make up for it. The restaurant itself is not terribly clean. The food was excellent. Our food was so fresh that we could not eat it, because it was so hot. We had chicken shawarma with fries and rice. It fed two full grown adults. Our 9 yr old son ordered chicken tenders and rice, which lasted him two meals, plus he snacked on the leftover pita bread for two meals. We saw a man come in asking to use the microwave for his burger and the bathroom. The staff were seemingly very friendly and did accommodate him.Wheelchair accessibility: Not many parking options, but you should be able to bring in a wheel chair.

Heather C: Mr. Kabob is an institution that started in Berkley and brings the same high quality food to downtown Detroit. Top notch fresh ingredients, excellent hummus and garlic sauce, and an easy build-your-own bowl or wrap can appeal to lots of dietary needs and tastes.In short, they serve up shawarma or shawarma bowls with lots of Mediterranean favourites like tzatziki, tabbouleh, and fattoush. Obviously grilled chicken and beef take centre stage here, but they offer a dizzying variety of veggies, sauces, and toppings to customise your meal. Shawarma on a base of brown rice? Sure! Prefer red pepper hummus? Go for it!The express means an assembly line along the grill, starting with a fresh pita or bowl, adding the base, and moving all the way along. You can order ahead but Mr. Kabob works fast. I never wait long to get piping, fresh food. Their app is easy to use and they stay busy between 11am-1pm during week days so that can help avoid the line.There's a lot of seating here and free water, but the restaurant can get awfully busy. Fortunately there's lots of seating around Cadillac Square or Campus Martius if you walk a few hundred feet.Simple, reasonably priced, and delicious: what more can you want?
Andy Frey: Great falafel. Have had other dishes. Also good quality. But I'm a fan of their falafel which I think is awesome. I'm always intimidated when I order because so much but the staff is kind. Great place to eat for lunch. But get there before noon so no waiting. But they are fast. I always get the brown rice bowl. $2 extra but worth it.
Monee Whitney: Came in at 1:50pm, when I walked in all the staff looked at me like I was bothering them. Since everyone was looking at me I asked were they closed, everyone looked around like they were trying to decide if they wanted to take another before someone finally shouted we’re closed. This place could use better customer service and employees that are willing to do their job.

For the American style gyros you will not find better.The standard by which all other gyros must be measured. When they’re at their best (typically when not too busy so the meat gets super crispy) they may be the best in the world.

Alexandra: My father has been taking me to The Golden Fleece since I was a child. I’ve seen it go through 3 different renovations now but always have the same great food. After 30 years of going here I finally met the best server they have had! José was amazing and took care of everything we needed and made us feel appreciated and welcomed! Also Mahir has always been at the front along with Ali for as long as I can remember and the fleece would not be what it is with out these 3 men! When I see them working I know I will be taken care of!!

Google User: What a huge disappointment. First of all, they've decided to automatically increase your bill by 20% for a tip no matter what size your party is. We order our food, two drinks and an appetizer all at the same time. 10 minutes later, still no drinks. Another 10 minutes later, a waiter brought our entrée. I told him we haven't gotten our drinks yet and cancel the appetizer as our food is already here. I here him arguing with the cook that tells him the appetizer has been on the counter for 10 minutes. 5 minutes after we started eating our food, our waitress comes up and asks how everything is. I tell her (this is the third time I've asked) we haven't received our drinks yet. She apologized, brought our drinks and our bill with her 20% tip. Food was bland. This place has been in business for 53 years, it wont make it to 55.
Mike Alleman: I think my take on the food was because I ordered a Greek pasta dish. It tasted home cooked but not my cup O tea. Shout out to Pauline who was my server who was attentive and had an awesome smile. The Fleece had that hard scrabble trendy Detroit vibe before the vibe was cool - raw painted brick walls, vintage ceiling tiles. This restaurant has a long history in the D and deserves it.

Socha Sans-Jabaloi: I've never had such a great experience with fast food before. A galore of tasteful ingredients and perfectly seasoned meat is present in every dish. I tried the chicken shawarma bowl one day and had to come back the following day for a delicious grilled chicken pita. If you are an international visitor to Huntington Place, this is your place for lunch. (Be prepared for long lines, but the taste is worth the waiting.)Parking: Public parking one block from here.

Nau Nz: First time eating at that place, it's a fast food kind of place but for shawarmas. A whole bunch of teenagers working there who wrap your food quickly but carelessly, lamb shawarma was bland and tasteless. They would wrap everything even if you want to sit there and eat. Hand written signs every where to pay for your sides first ??? 🥙(Also the parking lot in the front was broken and Bathroom were very dirty and smelly.)
